25% off Select Full-Price Styles (extra 30% off Spring sale & extra 50% off final sale)

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know about the following promotion this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers to take an (1) extra 25% off select full-price styles, (2) extra 30% off spring sale styles & (3) extra 50% off final sale styles with promo code SPRINGSALE. The offer expires March 22, 2015. The fine print includes:
*Offers valid in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from March 18, 2015, 12:01am ET through March 22, 2015, 11:59pm ET. In-store discounts as advertised. 25% discount valid online on select full-price items marked "25% off with code SPRINGSALE" and 30% discount valid online on sale items marked "Extra 30% off with code SPRINGSALE." Offers cannot be applied to previous purchases or the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. In-store discounts automatically taken at the register. To redeem online, enter code SPRINGSALE in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offers valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offers are subject to change.
At first I was kind of "meh", about this promotion. I mean, we have seen it before, many times in fact. But then I realized that final sale (for all regular sale, but not the 50% off section) is gone... gone, gone, gone! It may have been mentioned (apologize for not catching that sooner). I am thrilled about this. So much so, that I am actually going to take a second look around the sale section. Yey!

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. Wonder if I could get a "promo adjustment" on getting FS removed from a few things I bought last week...

  2. So glad I held out! Did not want to get stuck with final sale. Overall only placed one final sale order that I was not happy with so I am getting better. Nice to be able to try things without the fear of being stuck with them.

  3. There is still some final sale. Not everything though, thank goodness. I have my eye on the cap sleeve suiting dress in pinstripe. It appeals to the minimalist in me.

  4. FINALLY - final sale gone. I wanted to try the sequin firework top but they are sold out of my size at my store. Yay! I can order and try it now. Thanks for the heads up on that. :)

    1. This morning, everything "sale" in my cart (NOT from the 50% final sale section) is marked FINAL SALE in red letters. WTH??? Is it just my computer?

  5. There is a new sale category of "Old Assortments" in the sale section . . . I can't quite figure out the theme since not everything looks that old :-) I think JC does need an "Extreme Popback" category, subtitled, "Really Old Things We Found When We Opened a Box in the Corner of the Warehouse".

    1. Agree - they need to have Clearance and Sale separate. Keep the old stuff separate and marked down much more than it is. I see stuff over a year old - and completely off season stuff - needs to be better organized.

    2. This category truly has me stomped! What exactly qualifies as "Old Assortments", how are these items any different from the other "old" items AND how long must an item be on the website to be made a part of this category?

I wonder which member of the Mickey/Jenna team came up with this brillant category?

    3. I think this might actually be a mistake - may it was a temporary holding pen for some odds and ends before they get categorized into something else. On the other hand, I'm sure JCA's could come up with some other ones . . . 1) Still on Sale After All These Years, 2) Extreme Popback: Here From 4:55 to 5:00 A.M.!, 3) Kind of Boring, But It's a Wardrobe Staple: You Know You Need These Black Trousers, 4) Missed the Mark: Get Your See-Through, Oversized, Sequin Halter Top Here!, and 5) This Could Go to Final Sale Any Minute Now (Like Any Minute . . .). I'm sure there are others . . .

  6. I'm giving the Harlow pants a try in rustic mint and also the sleeveless textured jacquard dress in mauve blush while the tall size is still in stock and eligible for the 25% off promotion. I am going to try and get a price adjustment on the tweed stripe dress since there's still a full size run in stock...

  7. 1) has anyone done a review of or styled the vans high top sneakers? I wanted the nikes but couldnt get up at 3 am again trying to catch them! Im not so confident I can style Vans though and would like some inspiration.

    2) was it just me, or did jecrew update some sale items at 11pm central time last night??

  8. I made an order yesterday afternoon and again late last night and the promo code eligibility on some items changed - for example the lightweight camp shirt in whisper lame isn't eligible any more. Glad I got an order in before the change!

I'm interested in the vintage cropped denim, contrast placket cropped button down, and crossover wrap skirt. If anyone has reviews on these items I'd greatly appreciate it!!!

    1. Hi Dmitri, I just posted a review of the vintaged cropped denim (and some other denim) under the Reviews post.

    2. i just saw - super helpful, thank you!

    3. I think I'm a bigger size than you are, so take that into consideration. I don't know how (or if) their denim scales down proportionately with sizing.

  9. I went in today and was interested in getting the Rolled-Sleeve Pocket Tee in Stripe, but while it was 25%-off online, it was full price in store, so I ended up not getting it for now.

I also decided to give the Flounce Tank Top in Stripe a try, given it was marked-down and in the sale section, but found the body of it shockingly sheer and thin. The flutter sleeves were strangely limp as well, rather than being, well, flutter-y.

    1. You can ask them in store to honor the online promos - then you can save the shipping, too!

      Delete
    2. I am hoping my store will honor the online with 30% off price on a Tippi that they are holding for me since it is sold out online. Will see.

    3. Cheri, I might do just that on Friday if I have time to do so. I didn't at the time because I couldn't remember for sure if the item was 25%-off online and I admittedly always feel really awkward about bringing up discounts that don't ring up, for whatever reason. I just might bring a print-out when I don't have a smartphone as well. Thanks!

  10. I just received the Harper flats in the sequin venue. The website said to size down, but NO. If you buy these, don't do that! I had to reorder and go through the return process which is an unnecessary hassle if they had just said 'true to size'. Oh well.......

  11. Hi all! OT but I am wondering if anyone has a Madewell 20% off code that they are not going to use? If so could you please email me at snapsparkchik at gmail dot com. There are a couple of pairs of shoes I'd like to get and 20% would be super helpful. TIA!!!

    1. I don't know if you have an AMEX but they are currently offering $20 credit if you spend $125 at Madewell. It's not much but might be helpful if you do have that card.

    2. Thank you -- that is wonderful news!! :)

      Delete
    3. Is that automatic when you use an AMEX?? Or do you need a code?

      Delete
    4. Jruby18, from what I recall I think you log in to your AMEX account and their is an offers tab where you get the discount. Sometimes these offers are only sent to certain customers. Last time jcrew did this I didn't have the offer in my account but maybe because I use my Visa mostly there?

    5. Lauren, is correct you add the offer to your card and it automatically applies and gives you a $20 discount. I got an email right away once I used mine and then saw the discount online. Another thing, I purchased a pair of earrings as part of the $125, which I ended up returning but still got $20 discount

    6. Thanks! I'm going to check it out.

  13. I ordered the Mesh Wrap Dress in navy last night for less than $100. I have many events coming up that are sort of dressy, but not really dressy, like an afternoon wedding. I'm hoping the dress fits good and looks cute, not matronly. Anyone try this one and can comment?

    1. I was interested in that too, but I didn't see it at the store. I don't have anywhere to wear it right now so I won't bother ordering it to try, but I'm keeping it in mind. I'd like to hear what you think of it!

    2. Will definitely report back when I get it!

    3. Thanks! Especially wondering about the length. I couldn't tell if it's a mini skirt kind of length or (hopefully) somewhat longer.

      Delete
    4. I think it is online only which is fine but I wish they would offer free shipping on those items more often. I was interested in the pink color for parties/work so I would love an IRL review.

    5. I think it's going to be on the shorter side, which would work for me b/c I'm only 5'3"ish. I think the website said 35 1/2" from shoulder which is usually a pretty good length on me.

      Delete
    6. Oh, and TeriLynn13, I agree w/you about the shipping, but at least they don't gouge you like Anthro. I ordered a few dresses that totaled over $300 and had to pay $16 shipping. Outrageous! Sorry, to go OT. ;)

  14. I just noticed that two items in my cart are suddenly final sale. Fine, but they should be eligible for the 50% discount in that case. I just chatted with a specialist and she said that only *select* final sale items are eligible. What? Fine, then I won't buy them.
    Get some consistency J.Crew.
