J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The MARCH catalog (click here to view) is still up. However, the latest APRIL catalog is not. As mentioned by several JCAs, J.Crew posted several images of the newest catalog over at Pinterest (click here to view).

Promotion Time! J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off Final sale with promo code SALELOVE. This offer expires March 17, 2015.

There are a number of things I am crushing on this rollout. The following are my top picks:
Caribbean blue gingham popover (item C4253; $88.00). I have enough gingham shirts, but there is a reason. They always look so amazing. The Caribbean Blue version here is such an amazing shade, perfect for transitioning to warm weather days.

Collection Italian chambray twill popover (item C0349; $250.00). This top is crazy expensive. $250, seriously?!? Excluding cost, I am intrigued by the cut of this chambray popover and think it is quite beautiful. See you on sale!

Collection pleated eyelet dress (item C2189; $298.00). This is my favorite item from the entire rollout. I want both the black and ivory version. It reminds me of why I love J.Crew: classic, timeless, and gorgeous dresses. Yes, yes, and yes!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. I am happy to see that my eyes weren't deceiving me and that the pants that I hopelessly spied in previous rollouts (without finding them on the website) were indeed not released yet. I am talking about the Collection Ludlow pants in Italian linen chambray. They are too expensive but that color! I want at least try them on.
Otherwise it seems there there are a lot of beachy things already. I like them but not really interested right now....

    1. The copy for it is funny:

"Remember that skort you used to wear in middle school? It's back. We made this polished grown-up version with "office-to-out" in mind—all it takes is a change of shoes (and scenery)."

I don't know what office a 3" skort would be appropriate for.

    2. I had one in the sixth grade in 1976 and because the librarian wouldn't let me go to the bathroom I had a little accident. I still remember the skort to this day. It was purple and and I had a purple and white stripe tee to match. So no, it wasn't middle school, it was elementary school for me and they had just put down new carpet. :)

    4. ((hugging) little, 1976 Doodle Daschund.

Tell me your outfit was Garanimals. lol

    5. Oh no, poor Doodle! I guess the J. Crew skort is not on your wish list.

    6. It was actually Buster Brown if memory serves me correctly and now that I think about it, it was called a scooter skirt. Still traumatized apparently, so no, not on the wish list. :)

  3. There's not much that are must haves for me from this roll-out. Just a few basic button up shirts, and cotton tops. I like the skort, which I can't wait to inspect in person. I agree, Alexis, the eyelet dress is pretty; so is the chambray shirt. I didn't like the shoes from this roll-out. Not feeling it. Some of the jewels are pretty....
Will probably trek over a B&M this Thursday, to check out the new stuff!

  4. If anyone goes to a retail store to check out the new arrivals, I would love to know if there are any other promotions other than the extra 30% off clearance.

  5. There are some cute pieces in this rollout (lace-hem sweater, utility jacket, circle midi skirt) but I don't know if I'll be placing an order. I've got all the "classics" many times over and have my eye on a few things at Madewell. As always, love to hear what the JCA's are looking at and IRL pics/reviews!

I find it curious that they don't have any flared jeans. If you're confident of your JC jeans size, I'd recommend going to eBay and getting some of their high-heel flares (from 2008, maybe?). They're cotton/spandex, made in USA, higher rise, and long (33" inseam, I think). I picked up a pair for $8, which if I don't wear them too much, no big deal.

    1. Silver-lining, the High Heel Flares were awesome! Loved mine ans wore them to pieces!

  6. I just love the Huarache Mule Sandals so much - they have a really cool 70s vibe! But I just bought the Madewell Finch Mule, so will not be getting.

The Crossover Wrap Skirt looks interesting.

  7. I agree, Alexis, some of the dresses are beautiful! I love the eyelet dress and while I have absolutely nowhere to where it, I adore the Collection scalloped lace dress. I also like the laser cut midi, double stripe pencil skirt (and dress) as well as the iced quartz necklace. I'm not overly impressed with the shoes and while I love the misty hydrangea print...how is it that the skirt costs less than the blouse (by $100 no less?) I appreciate that there are a few pencil skirts, but I do miss the basic cotton colors, hopefully we'll see more of those soon.

ps - @silver_lining I LOVE the high heel flare jeans, I still have a pair that luckily still fit me :) good call searching eBay for others.

  8. Thought I would love the sheer shadow stripe top...but that zipper. On the other hand the lame shirt is beautiful and new for me, not something I already have. And seriously contemplating the Regent blazer in linen. And some great necklaces like the mixed stones and the iced quartz necklace. All in all, happy with this roll-out.

    1. @fleur de lys I tried on the sheer stripe top yesterday and took it home with me the zipper in the back was not a deal breaker for me the safari green is a great color!

      Delete
    2. Yes, the safari green is beautiful ! I wanted the top in pink and the contrast between the 'sweet' pink and the 'edgy' zipper was too clashing. Oh well, lots of other things to love;-))

    3. I love the Sheer Stripe top! How is the sizing? Did you need to size down? There is no mention of how it fits in the description. TIA

    5. I think the sheer striped top is tts. I tried it on in a 6 and 8 and went with the 8 my normal jcrew size in tops.

  9. I placed two large orders during the 25% off sale.....one which is still unshipped?....and I see a couple things from this rollout I like. The kimono sleeve dress looks good. I've been searching for a summer white dress that is long enough for me. I've got this one in my cart. It looks like the kind of style that could be either simply and chic or look like I'm wearing a nursing uniform. We'll see!

  10. I reviewed the misty green laser-cut floral shift dress in this post.

Overall I like the overall vibe. I'm still seeing a lack of detaling on the clothes and that slouchy, non-commital fit isn't working for me, but I'll try-on anyway. It's nice to see more cotton and silk in the mix.

  11. Agreed Alexis about the chambray top - beautiful but overpriced. From this rollout I like:

    - the blue leather box pleat skirt
    - the varsity stripe rash guard
    - the black & white ankle strap high heel sandals

This rollout completes the shift in my relationship with J Crew. It has always been my place for staples - easily two thirds of my closet is J Crew. Now it is the place for an occasional purchase for something that I don't see elsewhere (often a Collection splurge). IMO, J Crew still offers a few beautiful items, but they are not competing well in the market for day-to-day stuff (for all the reasons that have been oft-discussed here).

    1. the leather skirt is gorgeous!

    2. Alexis - I looked again at the chambray top, and I think the armholes are enormous. Check out the image of the shift in the Collection style photos. Let me know if it works on you - I'm pretty sure that would be a disaster on me. Too bad.

    3. ITA, Cousy, about a changing relationship with JC. I have a closet full of JC classics and I hope they'll last for quite some time, but most of my newer items are coming from Madewell, Everlane, and the like. I still check the JC site regularly for special pieces and happy popbacks. And I always check here for news, reviews, and styling ideas!

    4. Interesting thought on your changing relationship with JC. I just did a major closet purging. A lot of it were J Crew things I haven't worn in a long time....some over a year. How I want to see myself is changing and I'm purging my closet of bright colors, prints, etc. I'm tired of polka dots, paisleys, bright pants. I'm wanting a more easy chic look centered around navy, black, white, camel. I bought a few things that are classic neutrals. But on the whole I just don't relate to most of the offerings.

  12. I like the Lightweight camp shirt in whisper lamé (C1687), but probably will not be ordering it. Though it would look pretty hanging in my closet, I doubt I would really wear it much.

    1. Meredith, this is a repeat of a whisper lame perfect shirt they had about 5 years ago. I wore that until it was in tatters. I will definitely pick up the camp shirt. If it's the same as the old one, it's not disco ball lame, it's much more subtle. I wore it to the office with a pencil skirt or trousers. Like I said, I wore it until it became threadbare. My cost per wear must have been pennies by the time I threw it out.

    2. Desert Flower, Now you have me intrigued by the shirt. Did not think of it as office wear. I would have thought a jeans pairing, but Iove the idea of pairing it with a pencil skirt or trousers! Thanks for the idea :)

    3. The shirt fits on the larger side,i had to size down.
      HTH

    4. Ina, thanks! The camp shirt is def on my wishlist, so good to know it's oversized.

    5. Ina, I'm ordering the lame camp shirt today since the 25% off is being offered. I'm normally a 2, I will order a 0. Thanks for the head's up!

    6. @Desertflower It is a very nice shirt, slighly sheer and relativly soft to the touch.
Hopefully you like it as much as i do:)

  13. Not wild about most of the cuts of blouses and dresses. But I bought the laser cut circle midi to see if looks good or like my cat shredded it with her claws. We shall see!

  14. I like the pleated shorts, even though they are poly. Also, the crossover skirt is cute, and the blue leather skirt is fantastic (but I wouldn't wear it enough to make it worth it...)

  15. A few of my favs:

    Shadow Stripe Blouse
Sleeveless Silk Bouse - I'm glad it has buttons. That way I can have V neck that
    is not scandalously low.
Short sleeve open stitch Sweater - hope it's not too boxy
Summerweight Cotton V neck cardi - pretty colors
    Slouchy Boardwalk pant
Beaded Brass Collar necklace and the cuff - probably won't get the cuff, though.
these always turn on my wrist so that the top is hanging down. Drives me crazy.

  16. Wishlisted:
    1) Collection circle skirt in misty hydrangea (beautiful, but am a little concerned that even on a collection skirt, the print doesn't line up in the back)
    2) Collection silk crepe de chine top in pink sand
    3) Kimono-sleeve dress in navy

Think they did a good job with the dresses on this rollout, for once. Those lace ones are beautiful, but again -- it seems like the collection is the only place for classic J Crew piece now and it's just too expensive in that department.

  17. J Crew Factory is 50% off in-store as of today, Wed. The current, addtl 30% off online promo runs thru 3/15, so I guess they won't be doing a flat 50% off sitewide. HTH someone.

  18. I received a Madewell catalog today which is rare. I'm not really a Madewell girl - generally too casual and young for my lifestyle. They gave me a lovely offer which I won't use so passing it along here:

    $25 off a $100 purchase
    Code: EFH2KTGJA

Please reply if you use it!

  20. i love the collection eyelet pleated dress and the collection circle skirt in misty hydrangea. i am worried about length though and really wish these items came in petite...
