Will you be checking out J.Crew? Are there any items you are interested in getting? If so, please share. :)
No way will I spend that amount after the previous sales. Come on JC, stop being a Scrooge!! Move a ton of things to sale already, or give a bigger % off on everything.
ReplyDeleteWell the promotions keep coming! I'm done buying but this is a great promo for anyone with a big order.
ReplyDeleteI'll love to read about what others are doing.
I thought I saw a few new arrivals in there!
well, that came in handy seeing as some of my stuff from the last promo were too big. saved me the trouble of haggling with CS for a price adjustment when ordering smaller sizes.
ReplyDeleteQuite a few new arrivals and some old friends, a few noted here
ReplyDeleteDaniBP-I saw some too including the purple Hutton Trousers.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few new arrivals. I'm intrigued by the wool tuxedo tie pant. I may bite on that!
ReplyDeleteLove the promos, hate the high minimums! I tend to make smaller, more frequent purchases ... when I see a popback or maybe just easier on my guilty conscious :)
ReplyDeleteOT ... Jenna Lyons is the Guest Judge on Project Accessory tonight. I'm a geek but I do love to see her live. Anybody else going to watch?
Always fun to see some new arrivals. I'm intrigued by the Jubilee jacket in tinsel tweed. I really like the longer length and the color is nice, although it's guaranteed to look different IRL. Hope my store gets it in. :)
ReplyDeleteI placed an order yesterday for the black cashmere tee and the classic mini in felted wool that popped back in my size (I had to return the 2 because it was too big) and just got a price adjustment. Yay! Happy that I jumped on the mini even if it was fp because I am sure that it would be gone now. Good deal on the cashmere tee too!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture with this post - I have those earmuffs and they're fantastic.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how the Dream Vneck Stripe Sweater fits? The description says slouchy, I'm wondering if it's TTS or if I should size down as some sweaters run huge. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, early this morning some sweaters were still marked down from yesterday (so you could use today's promo too) but now they're back up to full price. I'm kicking myself for not buying cashmere while I was looking at it earlier.
Jan, I noticed the same thing this morning - so I ordered up a bunch of Jackie and Tippi sweaters while both promos were available! I ended up paying around $30 for the Jackies (I bought a couple fun colors, and then a few basics to replace the ones I wear constantly), and about $33 for the Tippis. Glad I was able to snag some good basics and get the double discount!
ReplyDeleteToo high for me right now, but it's nice to see an opportunity to get some new rollout items at a discoutn. Some cute new items, like the cashmere candy stripe sweater. :)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if it's bad news that an order is listed as "Submitted" on my account, and I've yet to receive an order confirmation?
ReplyDeleteI placed an order this morning around 7:30 for some sweaters once I noticed that they were still marked down, plus I could apply the additional 30% off. I see now that the sweaters are back up to full price, and I'm worried that I still haven't received an order confirmation an hour later. Anyone experience this before?
Well, fingers crossed ... a lone Lady Lace Popover in the soft dune color showed up this morning priced at $69.99 ($52.49 after discount!) so I was able to snag that and the striped linen tank in the 'Poppy' color, both of which I have been wanting for-ev-er, so hopefully both will ship. Picked up a few other odds and ends; it looks like there was an update of the sale inventory. Not so much new items added, but additional sizes of items that have been hanging around a while.
ReplyDeleteLia, I placed my order at 7... and I still haven't gotten my order confirm email, but the status on the website has changed to "releasable". I think the orders will still go through - after all, it was THEIR mistake, allowing multiple promos to be used on the site at once, not ours!
ReplyDeleteThey pulled the sweater prices back up. When I first logged on this morning, sweaters were still showing the 30% price from the sweater promo, now they removed that and they are full price again. Congrats to all who ordered earlier and got both promos!!
ReplyDeleteI am so weak. I caved on the brick Monas (YAY!), some great blue cords, lace tee, and a cheap cardi. The good thing is I can wear all of the pieces together!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christina - glad I'm not the only one! Mine is saying "Released" now, too. I think I read the other day that people were getting multiple order confirmation, and now we're getting none...so odd.
ReplyDeleteChristina- That is awesome re: the sweater prices that you got. I wish I would have seen the Tippi. :)
ReplyDeleteLia- I placed two orders today and did not receive an order confirmation email for either of them. I was wondering about that too, must be a glitch as they are showing up under 'my account'.
Jan - I have the dream v-neck stripe sweater, and it definitely can be described as "slouchy." My normal medium was a bit too wide and boxy for my taste, but I found the small to fit perfectly. I do, however, prefer a more fitted look. And, although the dream yarn is much hated by many, I have worn this sweater several times and it still looks new! HTH!
ReplyDelete@ifky12- Thank you so much! I took a chance and ordered one size down -did you find it still had some slouch to it when you sized down. I would like it to look a little slouchy but not boxy. Also how are the arms? Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to hear about the material. I swore off Dream sweaters but I really love the stripes and wanted to try it.
Jan - Ok, I just ran upstairs and put on the sweater to make sure I was giving you accurate info, lol! So yes, the sweater is still a more relaxed fit on me, even in the smaller size. I'm not sure I would call it slouchy, but not fitted like a cashmere tee. As for the sleeves, I have bigger arms, and this sweater does not suffer from the dreaded skinny arm syndrome. The arm length is perfect on me, so may be a bit long on some.
ReplyDeleteI think I am done for now, but for those who aren't, I have some new reviews here.
ReplyDeleteThis offer was just enough incentive to get me to pull the trigger on the Isabel cashmere sweatshirt in Nordic blue. I hope it's not too slouchy, because I didn't size down. I also added two long sleeve perfect fit tees, which are now marked down. I've been wearing these almost every day under my wool and cashmere sweaters. It really helps to reduce the itch factor.
ReplyDeleteI haven't rec'd order confirmations from orders placed this a.m. either.
ReplyDeleteNothing for me, agree with suzy, I will only buy on sale with percentage off. Otherwise online is a ripoff and the quality isn't there for most items. In store may have better deals. I really hate the online in store price disparity.
ReplyDeleteSome of the popbacks are amazing! I got some Bass loafers I've been regretting missing out on! Perfect day!
ReplyDeleteI placed an order about 5 hours ago and still no email. I was up for an early telecon and distracting myself with the new arrivals and the habitual checking of the few sold out items I missed. Surprisingly, I snagged one of the sold out items on my list. But, it is waitlisted so we'll see if it ships.
ReplyDeleteI sold a ton of stuff on ebay recently so my paypal account is flush with USD. I thought I'd try the paypal option with J.Crew and see how it works rather than pay to transfer it to my bank account and then pay my credit card. The exchange rate isn't so great right now and with the paypal exchange rate even worse this seemed like a good idea. Anyone else try paypal and can report back on how it worked or if there were any surprises?

ReplyDeleteThey offered a 50% off sale last year, it was in store only and the selection was pretty limited to tissue tanks/ts
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the promotions but I can't keep giving into them (not good for my bank account!!). I'm only getting those "it" items (so no tees, itchy sweaters, etc...) so with that being said I ordered the Hacking jacket in tipped double-serge wool in gray (I got if for $159). I have 2 Lexington blazers from 07' so I didn't need the black or yellow one. I'm DONE!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso one of SA told there is a rumor that JC is going to offer 50% off final sale after Christmas! We will see "/
@ifky12 - That is really helpful, I appreciate it! Thanks so much for your time.:)
ReplyDeleteI've been searching for the perfect ivory blazer so I might just give the Jubilee jacket in tinsel tweed a try. I also like the Cotton V-neck sweater in brilliant fuchsia and the wool sweater dress in heather dark grape.
ReplyDeleteThe Mona Mary Janes in maraschino cherry are so pretty, but too high for me.
sub
ReplyDeleteI bit! Ordered....
ReplyDeleteliquid silk skirt in dahlia - 48.99
super 120s inbox skirt tweed - 55.99
dream alexie sweaters in dark poppy and buttercup - 34.99 each
silk peplum blouses in muslin and dark olive - $34.99 each
I am hoping the dream alexie sweaters fit and wear better than the betsy (I die for the buttercup color)
Glad to get the peplum blouses - I returned the navy ones and never got them on sale ...
This morning ...jcrew was 8% on ebates but now only 4% -drat.
Anyone.....how are the valentina pumps wearing?
OT: There is a new website that just launched a little bit ago that I think most of you will be interested in. More details HERE on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI got the cafe capris in warm jade - pretty color :) get my colored pants fix.
ReplyDeletexoxo: I use Paypal whenever possible. It saves the hassle of having to wait for the Paypal transfer to show up in my bank account. The user fees are quite high so it makes sense to use the money directly to make purchases. Plus I set up my Ebates rebate to go directly to my Paypal account.
ReplyDeleteAnnapurna: I love my Valentina pumps - best shoe purchase I have made in a while. Very comfortable heel height and the pointed toe doesn't hurt (I usually have problems with pointed toe shoes.) The leather does scratch easily as it's a fine grain, but I guess that's to b expected.
Louise, thanks for the feedback on paypal. I prefer to avoid the fees and that dreaded exchange rate, I think this will be a great option.
ReplyDeleteI have ebates going directly to paypal as well and it's nice to see the running total (maybe a bit of an eye-opener). Between 4-8% and the occasional 10% it is much better than the 5% rewards for a J.Crew card. Now of course you could use both ebates and a J.Crew card and do even better, but I don't.
Did not see anything in the sale section that peaked my interest. However, I am loving that jade colored capri pant (great transition for Spring)...thinking of warmer temps already. Just received (last night) my last promo items (Glitterati mona pumps in cherry). Speaking of which, I have a review of them on my blog (vivalabeagle.blogspot.com). Sending back the turtleneck cable sweater asap...I started itching when I opened the box. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteStopped by the store to make some returns, and they were not running this promo. They did have 30% off sale items with no minimun, but items were FS. The sale section new additions included the colorblock minimal sweater, and the herringbone Hacking in grass and charcoal (marked down to $119 - 30%).
ReplyDeleteShariyu-I just checked out your blog. You look adorable in every single outfit! Such and inspiration :>
ReplyDeleteWhat jeans are you wearing, btw. I like the color/wash :>
On another note, I did place an order over $250 and got 30% off but, let me tell you, it was very easy to get to that total amount. I really only had some ribbon perfect fit henleys, a thermal, and some turtlenecks and, kapow! It's $288. C'est la vie of J Crew. Prices are high this year. Oh, I did throw in a pair of Cece flats in aged driftwood. thought they'd be versatile come spring. I shouldn't whine so much about my total, I did get a lot.
My store had 30% off sale (making it FS) today too.
ReplyDeleteTheir sizing is usually off with me in tops, so always buy a ton of stuff in multiple sizes and end up returning either half of or most of it.
ReplyDeleteIf I bought 250$ worth of merchandise and then returned some of the order at a store, would they adjust the 30% off in store when giving me my money back, i.e.I'd be paying more on the stuff I'm keeping?
samo: I have returned items in that situation (except bought online and returned by mail), and they refunded me for the full amount that I paid on the items I returned. They did not adjust for the minimum to get the discount. So I'd say, if you have the credit, order extra to get the promo/free ship and then return!
ReplyDeleteThis morning I scored two awesome popbacks that I had been stalking: one from JC, the tweed darby loafers, and one from madewell, the promenade coat. The promenade coat especially is a gorgeous dark camel colour with some really nice design details, I just really hope it fits! I could only snag the smaller of my two sizes on the popback, and am pretty concerned it won't fit since it suddenly went up as final sale today. If it wasn't final sale, I wouldn't have to stress about it! It's really silly, especially for items like this that they've had trouble even keeping in stock. It would obviously sell again if I had to return due to sizing. This should probably be in the vent post... anyways, I will probably offer the coat up (with the discount) here first if it doesn't fit! fingers crossed.
I'm pretty annoyed as I was going to get the cashmere crewneck and wanted to sleep on it before splurging. But J Crew playing its crazy game has just put it back up to full price. As I thought it was already overpriced given the shorter sleeves (the reason why I waited to buy it), making it around $150 after NYS tax with the 30% promo, I had hoped it might drop further. I guess that's money I'll use for other essentials.
ReplyDeleteI placed two orders, one yesterday and one today. I have not received any confirmation! They show in my order history...anyone else not receiving confirms??
ReplyDeleteLauren - My last confirmation email took a day to show up, but it did eventually!
ReplyDeleteI ended up putting in two $250+ orders:
ReplyDeleteIn box skirts in grey and black
Natasha Top in deep lagoon and wildcat
Factory Long belted puffer
Perfect fit mixed tape cardigans in grey, montery pine and bright dahlia
Timex Traveler watch
Extra straps in calf, black and green/navy
Here's to hoping everything works out... I still really want the Mona pumps in black glitter and ivory sigh
