  1. I still LOVE my Sterling Skirts...highly recommend! They appear to be available again this morning, too. I just blogged about it in this post. :)

  2. Love the new super-fast shipping. I placed several orders this week and I received them already. Plus everything was there and in perfect condition (including popbacks). Yay!

  3. I love the No. 2 cotton pencil skirt in Casablanca blue. Gorgeous color and the fabric seems nicer than last year's cotton pencil. It's a bit thinner and not as stiff, perfect for warm summer days. I will have some IRL photos up on my blog later today.

  4. xoxo: I love that skirt/color too! I posted IRL pics of it on my blog earlier this week. It's super cute. Enjoy!!

  5. @ xoxo, rynetta PhD: Darn it, now I'm afraid I'll miss that Casablanca Blue if I don't grab it this second! Lord knows how I need lightweight pencil skirts in GA for summer...must think ahead.

  6. rynetta PhD, the skirt looks great on you.

Whitney, the blue was originally on backorder and now seems to be fully in-stock. Do you have a PS who can check the stock for you and let you know if it starts to sell out in your size? I got it on the recent 30% promo so I'm quite happy with the price.

  7. Whitney: the skirt is super cute! And, I posted pics of a few upcoming summer skirts on my blog as well. You might go into a retail store to order the skirt from the red phone so that you can get it with the 30% off promo.

xoxo: Thanks SO much!! I can't wait to see how you style the skirt. I love your shoe choices!!!

And, just a quick note for anyone wanting the Lady Lace Popover: I had my retail ps order it via the red phone today. The store price is 49.99, then you get an additional 30% off of that. I paid 31.27 for this one, which is about the same price as my first one. Sweet deal.

  8. @xoxo and rynetta PhD: Thank you both so much for your suggestions, but I have zero willpower and shot straight over to the Crew and bought that skirt about 8 seconds after posting the comment above! Next time I'll wait 5 minutes and refresh the comment section, haha. Bought the Jackie twin-set in dark slate as well and I know I'll wear all three pieces often as work staples. I generally only suffer from buyer's remorse if I splurge on play clothes ;)

Rynetta PhD, you look great in the blue pencil and xoxo, I can't wait to read your post!

  9. Whitney: Thanks SO much!! I totally understand about rushing to the J. Crew website! After reading your post and your Blogger profile, I'm convinced that we're kindred spirits!!

  10. IRL photos of the No.2 cotton pencil skirt in the gorgeous Casablanca blue and the sterling skirt in both colors are up on my blog now.

FFM, I almost feel like we are playing dueling skirts or something! LOL

  11. rynetta, I didn't have a chance to style the skirt yet, just took some quick photos yesterday afternoon.

Whitney, I can totally relate. I have a serious weakness for J.Crew pencil skirts and I don't want to miss out!

  12. @ rynetta PhD: Always a pleasure to meet a kindred spirit :D

And since this is a LOVE post, I'll just mention again how much I love this blog!

    ...And the Cashmere Long-Sleeve Tees.

  13. And to what to my wondering eyes did appear...well a 2012 J Crew Planner!

Sort of a Poppy Red...leather bound and rather nice.

    Has anyone else been gifted?

This was a first for me.

  14. I really wish that Sterling skirt would look good on me, but after checking out xoxo's blog, I'm doubtful. I'm a straight up and down figure too. The Flair skirt was hideous on me. I'm sure the Sterling probably wouldn't work too. I'll have to see if they have it in my store to try on.

  15. The sterling skirt was ill fitting on me...I am very tall and can usually wear anything but not this one. Definite pass. I like the pencil skirt so much more.

  16. Gotta love battle of the skirts, lol. I remember I asked for measurements and Sterling in size 4 had 29" waist and 41" hips. That is 12" difference. Pencil skirt is size 4 is 30" waist and 38" hips.

This explains why we have both love an hate camp. I am about 29-30" waist and 36-37" hips. No wonder I love pencil shape and I thought Sterling was dowdy. I am also bigger on top, so I prefer slim bottom to balance it out.

FFM and DinaG are almost exact opposites of my figure and xoxo is similar. Guess who liked each skirt?

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!

  17. Have loved all of the discounts over the last several weeks. I have taken full advantage of them to purchase some timeless pieces. 3 pairs of Hutton trousers, 4 hacking jackets, boulevard trench and cashmere trench, 6 cashmere sweaters, the lady four strand pearls and numerous other incidentals. Yes, it's I over did it, but I LOVE everything. I have also had fabulous experiences with the managers at the Sherman Oaks, California and Woodland Hills, California stores. Wonderful people who really want to help a devoted customer.

  18. Hi XOXO, Thank you for your sterling pics. It made me finally admit that it is just NOT working on me either. You made me take a more critical look so THANKS!

  19. Well, if there is a battle of the skirts, then I think that everyone has come out a winner. Just because the skirt may seem 'dowdy' on some body types, doesn't make it that way on everyone. Like I said on my blog yesterday, at least J.Crew is offering some variety in their skirts so that everyone gets the chance to have a flattering and well-made one. I know that the majority of JCAs love the pencil skirts, but I do not have much luck at all with them, so that is why I am extra thrilled that J.Crew introduced this one. Now there is at least a little something for everybody (or every BODY..heehee). :)

  20. btw, I thought it looked pretty good on you, Xoxo. And it looked fantastic on FFM too! :-)
