Went to my local store today actually to buy my Christmas/Birthday gift (Brompton Hobo in Henna). Which, by the way I'm in love with. I'm sure I'll find a way to fill it up with.
ReplyDeleteMy local is running a 30% off Final Sale. Quite a few Honeycomb Sweaters in a few colors: from bright fuscia to the Heather Mint for $54 with 30% off.
I, personally, scored one of the two last Rugby Cashmere Sweaters for $90.90 size L (the other was as well). And one of the thin tortoise-shell Lulu Frost bangles for $13, when all was said and done.
The green and black stripe cashmere blend sweater dress (forgive me, I forgot the name), was also on-sale at $89 -30%. I passed on it though.

ReplyDeleteTook a quick spin through the Walnut Creek store today and found many of the resort/early spring items in the front section, large amount of sale items in back 30% off/Final Sale incl. cords in various styles. Saw three black watch bell skirts. I'm all shopped out at the moment but wanted to take a peek at the new things. SA's were all very pleasant and the store was neat.:)

ReplyDeleteI just e-mailed my PS to see if the new colored toothpick jeans are in stock at the Lenox Square location. The more I look at them, the more I want a pair in light citron so I might have to make the trip to ATL this weekend. I bought a pair of red J Brand skinnies in August and have worn the heck out of them ever since, and they are almost twice as expensive as J.Crew. Sounds like the material is similar - a very soft, thin twill - and it does fit very slim and show every lump/bump/pantyline.

She goes to a tennis match wearing a white twinset, Keds, and yellow ankle jeans and I remember just falling in love with that outfit as a teen (I loved her whole wardrobe after she started "dressing for the job she wanted", actually). The thought that I can have that outfit now makes me sort of giddy with excitement :p

ReplyDeleteI went to the b&m in Reston, VA today to do some returns and they didn't have the jackie pullover; the one thing I wanted to try on! They told me that they had just received a shipment and the pullovers were not included, in fact they didn't even know what the pullover was.
ReplyDeleteThey too were running the 30% off fs, but there were limited quantities. I saw some of the new colors of the tippi sweater and they looked beautiful in person.
I popped in to Crewlet yesterday...they were running 20% off the entire store. All of the spring/resort items were out and the clearance section was incredibly picked over (all clearance items were 40% off + the additional 20% off). No coats, hardly any sweaters. Picked up a few basics, the essential l/s tees were $7.99 with the 20% off and I got some khakis for my husband which were 50% off plus the additional 20%.

ReplyDeleteJust popped in to the Madison Avenue store to return my Dream v-neck stripe sweater due to the pilling when I tried it on at home, and the cashier, who couldn't have been nicer or more understanding, lifted her arm to show me what was going on with her J.Crew cardigan - what a pilly mess! I'm talking strings of pills all down the sides. (Though I suppose that's appropriate advertising for the brand these days)

DCopes24- Same thing happened to me back in November and I called customer service for a "we will find it" order. Do you know how to do that? You call customer service and they will contact all the stores to see if they have that pair of jeans in your size, and if one does, it is billed to your credit card and ships automatically. NOT SURE if they charge shipping, however. But I got a pair in one week that way. Best of luck!

ReplyDeleteLOL, Dara, last year I was in the store for returns and an old lady in front of me was buying a men's sweater as a gift from a male SA. The SA's sweater was a total pilly mess, and the lady asked him, "it's not going to look like THAT, is it? That's terrible."
ReplyDeleteI visited this morning with the intention of only looking. :) I found some items of course. I really like the ripplestick sweater (tts) and would like the navy/chalk on sale or promo. Nice, thick sweater - perfect for Charleston, SC, weather. Love the space-dyed cardi (tts) in royal - love! I may not be able to wait on this one to go on promo or sale. :) The colored toothpick jeans (size down from my normal toothpick denim size) were not good on me, although I love the blue grotto color. I love the toothpick jeans, but these just didn't work for me. The drawstring dress (tts, although sizing down might have helped) in pebble dot didn't work either, although again I love the color and print (and price for a JC dress is good). They had a gray knit drawstring dress (not online) that I also love. Hoping for a sale or promo on this one, too. My b&m had the scalloped lace shell (size down) in black and I am in love with it but not its price. Hoping to pick this up on a markdown. So what did I get? I love the gimlet skirt in stripe (tts)! I wasn't sure at first, but the more I wore it, the more I loved it. (It's washable, too!) After some coaxing, I tried it on with the ringspun stripe henley in navy and a coral/orange belt (that I don't see online). I don't normally mix prints (well, this isn't really mixing prints since they're both stripes) but I really liked it. My ps was so proud b/c I usually resist his attempts to push me out of my comfort zone. He told me I was finally complete JC with this outfit. Now I hope my students don't think I've lost my mind. :) I also ordered the glitterati flats in cherry - hoping they come in stock in my size (back ordered till February). Lots of sale items, but nothing I was hoping for except the flats. Sorry for such a long post.

ReplyDeleteI just got back from the Honolulu J. Crew On the Island store. The sale section is still nicely stocked with lots of sweaters and cord pants. Mens section is pretty nicely stocked as well. 30% off all sale items, and they gave me the extra 15% off for being a student! :) Yay!
pathos, I didn't see any wildcat in the sale section, but I didn't see any at all in my b&m so I'm not much help.

ReplyDeleteIf you buy final sale in store, it is final sale. You got to see the item in person and try it on so it is yours now.
On rare occasion, I have found the exception to be made for ONLINE final sale when item is not as pictured or described but always had to get special approval.
So, I guess, you now have a coat to sell or keep or give away. Unfortunately, part of final sale and shopping at J.Crew.
I no longer buy final sale online but I occasionally do in store when I can see and try on the item and am 100% sure of my purchase.
However, I used to shop a ton at J.Crew but no longer due very much b/c of their new short return policy of only 30 days in store/60 days online for items that are NOT final sale.
Well, bummer. WWFI said (after 30 minutes of looking - did they really look? I don't think so) that there were no cherry glitterati flats available in my size. Then cs cancelled my back order. :( If anyone sees them in a size 7, please let me know. TIA

I did pop into my local store today for a bunch of returns. They were having the 30% off (final) sale. They had a lot of the paisley pencil skirt and paisley blouson dress, which pricing out at $42 each with the discount.

ReplyDeleteIn my experience the wwfi is rarely successful. I recommend going to your local store when they aren't busy and having them locate the jeans at another store. Then calling that store and having them ship them to you.
gigiofca, I've used it before and it worked, but this time I don't think they really looked. Normally, it takes about 24 hours for the search. Oh, well, if it's meant to be, they'll pop back. I'll just have to hope if I find them that my ps will adjust to the sale price I could have had. Which I'm sure he will if the manager allows it. I'm a pretty good customer, although I don't spend near as much as others, so I'm hoping. We have a new manager, though, so you never know. He did price adjust the blythe blouse for me way after 7 days. :)

MathTeacher, yes, during the 30 off/no FS frenzy, I actually called a bunch of stores myself. I was looking for a wool pencil, so I targeted warm weather climates, and got it pretty easily. HTH!
