Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. From what I'm thinking final sale can't hit stores until people are done with their holiday shopping. Anyone have any idea when final sale will be in stores?

  2. OT: The Martina suede wedges now come in a new color: bright persimmon.

I'm all shopped out until the after-Christmas sales.

Also, the No. 2 Double Serge Pencil Skirt in Neon Azalea is on sale in stores for $79.99 less 30%.

  6. I'll be stopping in today. With the latest 30% off in-store only promo today and tomorrow I have my eye on another Spring colored Tippi Sweater and the papaya bubble necklace.

  7. Feeling the stress of the 30% off ending soon so maybe I will go today and try a pair of matchsticks or two. The day after Xmas final sale will be back in stores and I don't plan to go unless the Wintress puffer goes on sale.

  8. MegCrew, last time I was at my b&m, I saw longer coats marked down in the $225 to $250 range before the 30 off. Can't say for sure if it's the exact ones you're looking for but there were several. Good luck! I'm probably going to try today if I can easily find a parking spot. I have mega returns and want to get them out of the way.

  9. Easy answer - No. This is family visiting time! Nothing in the b&m to tempt me. Feels good not feeling tempted! LoL

  10. I'm headed in today. Was glad to see that 30% off promo in my inbox this morning. I have a few returns to make(poppy schoolboy was not my color) and I want to see what's left in stores. I have the day off from work(so does hubby) and the kids have school so I get a day to finish up Christmas prep and spend time at Jcrew sans children. Happy holidays everyone!

  11. i was in the Cherry Hill, NJ store last night and it was already an extra 30% off all items. I picked up the Metallic Boucle No 2 pencil skirt for only $35, from $138! final sale.

everything else on clearance was mostly picked over, either size XXS or L. still a great deal if you're looking for full priced merch at 30% off.

  12. I'm gonna head in (again) today to browse. Got the Saturday pants in the light grey for $20 yesterday. Madison Avenue store was crowded and had to make a return (Rhea popover in paisley not so cute on me, sadly). Probably hit the 5th avenue store today to see if anything else catches my eye before the 30% off is gone.

  14. Unfortunately for my wallet, I couldn't let 30% off go unused! Popped in and picked up the casablanca blue pencil skirt and a bright plum tippi sweater.

  15. I went yesterday and it was totally worth the trip. Jewelry was 30% off plus the overall "30% off everything" discount so I scored some cute turtle earrings. Also got the husband some last-minute gifts.

  16. My kids were at a playdate, so I managed to sneak into my b&m. I have the "parking gene", so I drove into the mall, and of course got the spot closest to the mall doors, lol! I picked up the Wildcat scoopneck blouse and the bright dahlia wool pencil skirt. So, I managed to snag the in-store teal wool pencil and the bright dahlia for $110 total!! Woot!!!

  17. I ended up buying my boss a necklace for Christmas with the 30% off. I'm not sure what the style is...it's not online anymore, but it was $39.50 full price and it had round beads with gold link chain. The beads came in aqua, coral, royal blue, yellow, taupe, and white, I believe. I picked the aqua.

  18. Popped in to make a return, and snagged the wool check capris for $35 and the glen plaid pencil skirt w/bow for $42 (both after 30% off). Kicking myself because I forgot to check if the jumpseat cardigan had been reduced any since I bought one last week... Some great deals to be had! The new tippis were already super picked over in my store--almost no Mediums left!

  19. Canadian On-line shoppers...
    Carolyn from Vancouver here.
My order is not even here yet and I am consumed with confusion about returning items to the B&M and being able to get the taxes and duties refunded. I will definitely have returns as I ordered two sizes of a few things. UPS is delivering and I am even wondering if I will be asked for money at delivery?
Sorry to bother everyone on xmas but the sited I have checked are ambiguous about it. Any fellow Canadians wishing to share tips or info regarding UPS shipping to and from Canada please share. Thanks CAROLYN

  20. Hello Carolyn,

They have already built the cost of the UPS into what you ordered so you should be asked for nothing when it arrives at the door! I live in eastern Canada and just got a UPS order this Monday past.

I cannot speak to returns at the B&M store as I do not live anywhere near a JCrew, but I do hear lots of JCAs doing this, so I imagine it is no problem. I sadly must sent all mine back Canada Post which adds another $20 to the whole ordeal! Good luck!

  21. I did get an e-mail later yesterday that offers a %30 off in stores only through today. Not visiting the mall, keeping my fingers crossed for something good next week.

  22. I just came back from B&M. Well worth it. Paid full price for the Marachino Cherry Wool Trousers last week and they are now marked down to $89.99 less 30% for a total of $63. Got a price adjustment and walked away with a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans and a super cute headband for my daughter for $2.00. Lots of azalea pencil skirts, wool cafe capris (both solids and plaids), and harvest tweed skirts marked down.

  23. @Carolyn - As WMM said, you won't be charged any duty or taxes by UPS. The taxes (for Ontario it's HST) get charged by JCrew on your invoice upfront so the total cost is what appeared at your checkout.

I often return items to a b&m in the States as I prefer that than mailing my returns via Canada Post. If I can time it right, I go to a b&m. The store can return your items no problem because we pay in US dollars, not Canadian dollars.
You will get a refund for the exact amount of what you paid including the cost plus sales taxes (except they won't refund any shipping charges). The only thing you will lose out on in the exchange rate when your Visa processes the credit.

If the store says that they can't do refunds for Canadian invoices make sure you have them call Customer Service who will tell them that they can. Some SAs in store get confused and think that the invoice is in Canadian dollars, but it's not --we pay US dollars. Again, I often return items in store.

If you return items via Canada Post to the warehouse, make sure you pay to get a tracking number and insure the package. It will probably cost around $20 for the fees.

    I hope this helps. :)

  24. @Carolyn -- I have always eaten the shipping charge to send items back to JC, which is usually about $20 a pop. It sucks, especially when American JC orders come with a free return-ship label. It's high time they did this for Canadian customers too.

If you can time a visit across the border, it's worth making the returns at B&M store.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Clicquot american returns aren't free. It's 5.95 for one item or 7.95 for two or more. Sometimes customer service provides free returns but usually there is a shipping charge.

  26. Thanks for all of your replies re returning.Seems like alot of shipping costs for all of us. The thought of returning items has me thinking. I doubt if I will order on-line again..My costs will out/weight the deals...and I have not even received my first one yet.
I am going down to Seattle on the 26th empty handed of returns(held up at the clearing agency for days now) I have the prices and items I liked written down. If the prices at the B&M are better I will purchase.
I feel I jumped at the 30% off sale items . I won't have any of them to wear on xmas day.

I know I paid in $US, will have to pay to return by mail and then see if the duty/taxes are refunded.
Once a J crew store opens in Vancouver maybe just maybe I will bite again Bah humbug J crew

  29. I have only shopped online with Jcrew in the past, but I am in Tampa for the holidays. Does anyone know if the Tampa store has swimwear right now?
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  30. RollinsKe, I can't answer about the Tampa store, but my local store had a couple swimsuits (a strapless malliott in royal paisley and a bikini--may have been colorblocked?) from the resort line, even though we are a day's drive from a beach. I would guess the Tampa store would have at least that, maybe more? HTH!

  31. I picked up the glen plaid pencil skirt with bow, the wild cat cardigan and a taupe colored perfect shirt. I also had my PS order the no 2 cotton pencil skirt in casablanca blue and the boy shirt in carrick plaid also managed to score the classic pave link bracelet! I now think I need the harvest plain pencil skirt! I need another pencil skirt like I need a hole in my head.
