Take an Extra 30% Off Final Sale This Week

A big "thanks!" to many of you, including Eleni, Tiffany Rose, Marietta, as well as Pakcola (in this post), & Christy (in this post), who let us know about another offer from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering customers 30% off any purchase from Final Sale {no minimum} and free shipping (over $150 *after* discounts applied) with promo code EXTRA30. This offer is good through this Thursday, 4/1/10.

I am happy to see this promotion return again. I will definitely be checking out the final sale section. :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. I won't be participating in this promo as I just bought some sale items last Friday. Would I be able to get an adjustment of 30% off my purchases since they were sale but with no extra off? I assume not.

  2. I just took the bait! I have been eyeing the pearl grey wool flannel schoolboy blazer for sometime (I have the navy one which I LOVE) and decided to purchase it.

I also got a pearl and crystal avalanche necklace and the wool twill club pants. I had to size up one size in the pants since they were not in my normal size in the color I wanted, so hopefully they won't look too ridiculous on me!

  3. Nothing for me. I have my eye on one newish item so waiting for a sale on it in the future....Nice to see the promo but I didn't see any big update and nothing is catching my eye as being new to the sale....

    ReplyDelete
  4. I picked up a few things I had collected in my bag recently. This is my first purchase in a long time, however. I did notice something strange today. Nothing I added to my bag today had the red "Final Sale" label on the item selection page or in my shopping bag. I've been able to return non-labeled items in the past that were supposed to be FS thinking it was a fluke in their system. I hope they haven't done away with individually designating FS items in the shopping bags.

  5. I'm definitely tempted, but I'm hoping they might do an update later in the week. I really want the merino ethereal cardi in XS in the gray, and it's not popping back at this point. But this is a good opportunity to get some cashmere (the v-neck and henley).

    ReplyDelete
  6. Finally caved and purchased the supernova necklace in black. I have been waiting forever for this to go on sale. I also picked up some crewcuts for the kids.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I won't be participating because I really really wanted a percentage off of full priced items. I have no interest in being stuck with an item that might not fit, etc. just to get a deal.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I got few things in my cart...mainly cashmeres. Do you ladies size down on some cashmere styles? I found some styles like the Henley sweater running large the last time I tried on.

I'm hoping on a large update later on...

  9. Can anyone comment on the Bryant platform peep toe pumps? Are they TTS? I've had my eye on the gold suede ones, has anyone seen these IRL? Thanks!!!

  10. I'd been waiting for a code so I was thrilled to see this on the site this morning. I picked up some basics as well as some sale items I'd been wanting to try: neapolitan tunic, toothpick ankle cords, silk linen v-neck, and the metallic blush abacus bracelet. I knocked out most of what was on my sale wishlist. :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. pike- I love the Neopolitan Tunic- good buy! It is perfect for spring.

  12. AAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH I knew it! Damn! I just spent almost $100 on Friday, all sale items. I could feel an 'extra' promo coming on too. GARRRRRRRRR.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anyone know what color Neon Rose is? Hot pink? More orange?

    ReplyDelete
  14. JenLynn and Elaine, I feel you both! I caved this past Friday/Sunday, and bought a popback and a few other times. I called CS this morning to see if they'd give a PA, and I was informed that they've already given me a one-time courtesy adjustment. URGHHHH is right, Elaine!

  15. I'm so glad to see another promotion. The Extra30 is a great time to buy Crewcuts since the shipping is free with no minimum. I picked up a graphic tee for my 6 year-old this morning and hope to be able get a couple for my other boys if there's a good update tomorrow or Wednesday. I did see a small update this morning, so hopefully the next one will be much larger. :)

  16. Is anyone else having trouble with the website?

I was just about to place an order for the cashmere tie front cardi, and BAM the website seemed to crash!

I will be very unhappy if the sweater is gone!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good morning everyone!

Does anyone have any insight about the merino double-breasted cardigan (fit and color)? I'm a shortie so I'm not sure if it will look disproportional...Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Just so happen to be wearing my J.Crew double-breasted pea coat with thinsulate from 2005 - it's still a workhorse but it's getting a bit dated. So I snatched up the double-cloth lady day coat with thinsulate in chocolate - couldn't resist for $101! (I will never buy a white wool coat ever again - the dry-cleaning bills are too much!)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Pansy, I have two lady day coats with thinsulate and LOVE them. Enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Has anyone come across critter shorts in a lavender color ? I'm pretty sure I saw them online about 2 weeks ago but nothing since. I am in need of one in a size 0 !

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good morning, does anybody know, when new arrivals will be in store? The SA told me: early april, could it be this saturday?
    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  22. It is very tempting. There are a few items I want (cashmere, merino larkspur, crystal supernova necklace). Trying to be good though!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Every time I get an email from the crew I always go here first to make sure I haven't missed any of the fine print. Love my JCA info!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Can anyone comment on the hand-cut flower art T? I haven't seen it IRL, and all the colors are still available on final sale. I like the ginger color, but not sure if I want to bite. Final sale has burned me before.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The website is down for me!! Nooooo! I have a full cart for once... c'mon JC, I'm itching to spend $$ on you...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ugh - site is down! Hope it saved my cart!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lynzeeroo,
I have the Bryant suede shoes in platinum gold. I really like them. They run a tad small because they are narrow in the toe area.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I *did* check out the sale section this morning, but there was nothing I particularly want or need, so it was easy to pass. As a couple of others noted, I'd be more likely to bite if this was a discount on new arrivals. I still have my eye on a couple more flowered perfect shirts. I'm a sucker for a pretty, girly print.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I had ordered last Saturday some full price items and the merino ethereal cardigan in heather gray. Can't get enough of this cardigan!

I'm glad that I did because now the cardigan is nowwhere to be found...I still took advantage of this promo...30%off? Too good to pass. Ordered more cashmere v-neck cardigan and double brested sweater, and the art cut flower tee, after spotting on one of the SAs. She looked so cute with the tee under a blazer.

    Thank you Jcrew!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'll definitely be taking advantage of the sale to stock up on some sweaters that I had been waiting to buy in hopes for a promo like this...but like others, waiting on a promo for FP items too!

BTW - lots of new markdowns in store as of last night: rose vines perfect shirt, $49.99; potpourri mini skirt, $59.99; all ethereal sweaters, $59.99; matchstick dark vintage distress jeans, $49.99; boyfriend chino shorts $?; palmera solid and printed camis (? all colors, saw pink, gray, and printed for sure, maybe $59 or 49). Perhaps these sale items will update online tomorrow, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened after the 30% off promo expires.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lynzeeroo: I have the Bryants in leather - they fit TTS, and they're gorg on the foot. Am thinking about picking up the suede ones myself!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Picked up three final sale things and a replacement jackie.

Kerris ruffle deep V-neck hthr stone

    Canvas utility tote antique lilac

    Jackie cardigan burnished olive

    Cashmere crewneck tee light berry

    ReplyDelete
  33. Apropos of absolutely nothing...

Can any of you Polyvore-savvy ladies tell me how to add text onto a Polyvore set? I can't for the life of me figure out where the Font function lives!

    TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Of course I bought a bunch of stuff over the weekend before this promo. But I couldn't help but bite -- picked up:

Twist neck painter tee in pale blossom (my fav tee)
Merino larkspur cardi in pale blossom
Applique mum tee in cool dusk
Adriana silk tank in classic navy

    ReplyDelete
  35. I bought a couple of suiting pieces, a pair of ripstop cargos and threw in some FP items since I was over the limit for free shipping anyway. Only the cargos were listed as final sale at the checkout.

Lynzeroo, I bought the Bryant's in black leather and had to exchange for 1/2 size up. Maybe TTS for some but if you're at all borderline then I suggest you SU.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's brilliant sunshine here, a happy harbinger that spring may really be setting in (usually get a snowstorm around Easter) - and that made me put on my azalea Bella :-)

That jacket is a big reason for my j.crew aficionad-ism ... but final sale, with or without a percentage off, is most definitely not :-(

    ReplyDelete
  37. I really wanted those zebra striped shorts, but they've disappeared off the website. The other day there were a bunch of sizes left, so I'm hoping for a popback. I can't imagine they sold out that quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi There,
I am a fan of this site! I have a J. Crew Handbag that I am trying to find the name of. Can anyone help?
I can post a picture, as soon as I figure out how!
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was so excited last night when I came across the sale on the website. I bought:

Superskinny printed patent belt, Slim square-buckle belt (metallic gold), Dogwood flower necklace, Vintage flower and ribbon necklace, Crystal symphony necklace, Ankle stretch toothpick jean in twilight wash, Twist-neck painter tee (soft dove), Petite favorite-fit everyday chino (khaki).

I almost ordered the Supernova necklace.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I picked up the supernova necklace in gunmetal, the vintage flower necklace, and the cashmere henley in pearl, and threw in a satin mirror to eek out to $150. I had gone > 3 weeks without ordering anything but I'm a sucker for extra% off and free shipping when I know I'll love the items.

    ReplyDelete
  41. sigh. i know as soon as the promo ends, the newer stuff will go on sale. curses! however, i will pick up a rose vines perfect shirt at my b&m if i see it. thanks to the commenter who posted about the in-store sale.

phyllis, can you please review the adrianna silk tank when you get it? it has been sitting in my bag but i need some sort of review before i pull the trigger. i don't think i've come across any reviews for it yet...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Has anyone tried the Lena isle dress (the knit dress in kind of a retro style)? I love knit dresses for spring and summer, but this dress doesn't look that flattering on the model (though perhaps it's the weird way she's standing). Any JCAs tried it?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Love this promotion because my friend is getting married and the Robin dress is one of her bridesmaid options. Already got mine in my current size, but am grabbing one size down because I'm optimistic that I'm going to drop a size by August. With this sale (and the employee discount my cousin got for me on the one I already have) two dresses are cheaper than one! Of course, I picked up a few other things too, like a dress for work and adorable bathing suit. Yay!

    ReplyDelete
  44. So excited to see this promotion! Thank you J Crew! Bought v neck cashmere in neon rose...can any JCA's tell me what this color looks like IRL? Also bought supernova necklace, and three pairs of shoes! Can't wait to get my goodies!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Clicquot, I just sent you a message on polyvore about text.

hazeltwenty, I don't know if there is a better way, but I do know you can upload your picture to flickr or photobucket or something and then post a link here. Maybe someone can help you ID your bag that way.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I was suckered into it. I got the boatneck painters tee, the flower art tee and the tissue garland tank. I can't wait! How has j.crew's shipping been recently? Fast or slow?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I placed an order last Friday...after reading a few of you were able to get a CS rep to honor the discount as a one-time courtesy I gave it a try too...she honored it and I got $55 back! =) After that I felt so good I went and placed another order! I got the Asymmetrical ruffle tee in ivory (for $10.49!!!), the Tissue Tier tank in Sweet guava, the Hand-cut Flower art tee in Light Ginger(for $13.99), the Flouncy flowers scoopneck tee in Sea Spray, I re-bought the Loulie Ruffle tank in Wild Blackberry (gonna take the one I have still with the tag on it back now that this one was $15 cheaper!), and rounded out the order with the Faceted Glacon necklace in black and the Duchess stone cocktail ring in black. All that for just a bit over the $150 free shipping requirement! Holy smokes, what an amazing sale! Thank you J Crew!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I held back when I saw this promo come up last night, as I had an order arriving today (double V dress and Lilac showers dress). I tried on the dresses, which were too big and fit awkwardly, respectively, so those will be returned! Now with free rein, I couldn't resist a few sale goodies!

I got the Slim square-buckle belt in neon pink (which I've been coveting since it's debut) and in metallic silver (for versatility's sake), the Asymmetrical ruffle tee in dark charcoal, the Flouncy flowers scoopneck tee in dark chartreuse, and the Lucca beach skirt in pearl and the Vintage canvas bow tank in ivory at full price. Pretty good, I say!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I, too, took the bait! Tie-front cashmere cardigan in navy, matchstick cords ($13.99!), painter tee in hyacinth, and the new-ish striped tee in navy, all for $155. I'm really pleased, a lot of nice basics for less than the original price on the cardigan.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm very tempted. What I REALLY want, though, is not final sale - the Twill Utility Jacket. Anyone have a review on that? I don't know whether to order an XS or S...

    ReplyDelete
  51. I did buy a sweater, the cashmere henley. I fell in love with this sweater last year but let it get away. So, I ordered my 2nd one this morning. :) I also ordered 2 tanks for my sister so we can share shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Danielle--I have the cut flowers tee in Ginger and I love the color combo. It looks great with many of J.Crew's pink/coral cardigans.

  53. I took the plunge on the drapey wool Tayla dress. I have had it on my wishlist since it came out and even contemplated purchasing at full price of $188. With this sale it is $70, what a deal! I hope it works out, it reminds me of my school uniform and may end up looking ridiculous as I'm no longer school age but we'll see.

I added a couple of other things for DH, no problem reaching the free ship point. Excellent promotion.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anyone have any comment on the Tuesday Strappy Heels? Wondering if they run 1/2 small or anything since they are marked Final Sale. I have had my eye on them and they are reduced further with 30% off hard to resist.. thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have a question about getting discount applied to previous orders. I called and was told that they cant do that because I already used free ship code. So I am just wondering if those who got 30% off applied, did you use free shipping code on the orders?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank you Iseal, sherbie, and Baybaybay for the feedback on the Bryant suede pumps. I'm between sizes so I'm definitely going to size up! They look so cute I'm glad I can get them at this price! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Elena -- I actually called an hour ago to redeem the extra 30 on an order I made a couple of days ago (this was my first time calling Jcrew about anything like this) and the rep I spoke to was kind enough to apply it even though I had indeed used a free ship code on that order. Perhaps you just had someone who was a bit more of a stickler?

Megha -- Definitely will let you know! I had been eying it for a while myself and figured I'd take the plunge with the discount. Hoping I made the right choice :)!!

  58. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Kristin and Crazy4Crew: I ordered a cashmere sweater in neon rose a while back and returned it. The color is pretty, but it's super bright! (I guess that's why they call it "neon" rose?) It's like a deep hot pink. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Phyllis - they were so kind to me as well and extended discount on an order I placed couple days ago as well. I was thrilled! Sometimes they are flexible and I have had couple experiences when they are not so. At any rate, I appreciated the great customer service and told them how appreciative I was...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Stopped in my B&M today to make a few returns and of course left with a tee marked down to $19.99, a cute teardrop necklace ($14.99) and got a friendly surprise of a 10% off coupon for my next in store purchase from 4/10-4/24 by sharing my e-mail! Thanks Jcrew!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Has anyone seen the Beacon tote IRL?? Am considering but can't find IRL pics

    ReplyDelete
  63. I drank the crewlade too, hard to resist such a great promotion; it doesn't get any better than this ever :). Got some tops I had been stalking, a vest and the scout chinos to try on. Am glad they weren't marked final sale. I want some other things in the new arrivals.. Well, they are too expensive for me right now... will wait ... ! Love Jcrew !

    ReplyDelete
  64. I picked up a black blossoms cardigan (really hoping I like it as it was a total impulse buy), merino ethereal cardigan in heather dusk and the super 120 pencil skirt in coal...of course just bought a bunch of stuff last week but couldn't resist the sale!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Does anyone know what time the website has been updating recently?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Last week I saw it update at 2am EST, but I think it usually updates somewhere between 4-5am EST. Does anyone else have any idea when it updates?

    ReplyDelete
  67. While this is a good deal, Im always worried Ill be stuck with something bc its final sale. They need to do the 30% off in stores more often!! They used to do it all the time and now its few and far between :(

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh evil, evil sale. I could not resist you! At least most of what was in my cart was not tagged as final sale, so if I don't love it I can take it back. Eeeeeeeek. I should not have gone for it, but my heart got the best of me. Arrrggghhh....

    ReplyDelete
  69. I could resist the sale with the extra percent off. I also took the plunge on the drapey wool dress. I too noticed that many of my items did not say final sale, so I'm hoping that means I can return things that don't fit.
For those of you wanting mark down full price items, keep an eye out for your catalogues. I received mine yesterday with a 20% off one purchase of any amount.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Lynzeroo, I also sized up in the Bryants so I think that is the safest way to go. I'm in between sizes but there was no way I could take the smaller size with the non-adjustable ankle strap. HTH Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I should clarify, the ankle strap on the Bryant peep toes has a small elasticized insert but there is not an adjustable buckle closure as well, it is a fixed length.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I ordered the cashmere short sleeved tee in the orange/melon color. I've put it in my cart several times with other promos, but never actually purchased.

By the way, I just received the Panier clutch in black (now 30 % off) and it's really lovely. A nice, elegant bag that is small enough to be a true evening bag, but yet enough with room inside to fit wallet, cell, makeup, etc. inside. I highly recommend it!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Mama princess, I have the tuesday strappy heels; and took my normal JC shoe size. They are great sandals, I think they are marked down so much b/c they are really special occasion once-in-a-while type shoes that people can't justify paying FP for.

I used the promo to reorder a bunch of stuff that is now much cheaper--great deal on a lot of the newer spring shoes that are on promo and the 30% works on top.

    ReplyDelete
  74. A. - I also recvd a catalog w/a 20% coupon for in-store use only. Interestingly, the front of the catalog says, 'Special offer in store for you (details on page 57)'

When the last offers appeared in catalogs, I went back thru the recycle bag to review mine. The front page notice is a good adjustment on J Crew's part to let us know that there is a coupon inside. If we're so lucky.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Stopped in the 17th & 5th b&m to make a return, and came across the pale lilac crystal colletto necklace on sale for $69.99, the matching bracelet for $39.99, and the crystal glamour bracelet in crystal for $39.99. No extra % off, it's not FS.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Woke up, couldn't fall back asleep to save my life... sale just updated...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, site updated sometime around 4:30 this morning (I can't sleep either...bad dreams!). There were a lot of "I'm sorry, but this item was so popular it sold out..." items, which was really really annoying!! But I did buy the Bryant's in platnium gold, a cardigan, and a couple other t-shirts.

There were some strange sale prices on things, not sure if they were errors (and they weren't in stock anyway) but the Celosia cardi for $39.99, the waterfloral scarf for $39.99, etc...

Ok, here it is. I am looking for the name of this handbag. Anyone able to help?
    Thanks.

  79. I just got back from the 45th & Madison store and the place was packed! There was a long line for the dressing rooms and the sale section was bursting. A lot of the same stuff as before with the addition of the crackled copper skirt for $89.99 so expect to see that in online sale section soon. Also the contrast pencil skirt has been reduced to $49.99. I haven't been to the store in a week so all of this might be old news but I thought I'd share.

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Gigi: I wish I got an in-store coupon! I just received the April catalog today, and it had a 20% off coupon for the website only.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Took advantage and picked up several cashmere sweaters :) The cashmere crewneck tee (item #98277) is hidden from the sales section but marked down to $69.99 - only $49 after the 30% discount! There's still a good selection of colors in all sizes.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lauren - It's good to hear of both online & in-store coupons going out.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Does anyone know how Jcrew determines who gets a discount coupon in their catalog? It it based on points or is it random? I seem to keep missing out on these little gems!

    ReplyDelete
  84. If someone didn't get a catalog coupon, I'd be happy to give mine away -- $25 off $125 min. purchase (need to double check but I think this is an instore coupon). I have spent WAY too much already in this past month so if another JCA could put it to use, better than me throwing it in the trash!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Phyllis, I'm definitely interested if you decide you're not going to use it!!
