Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Summer / Fall sale, or to see some new Fall arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  8. stopped by my b&m (tiny store!) last night to check out new arrivals. i think because of the size of the store itself and with their limited hours, they didn't have much. i noticed a mini skirt with the polka dot print from the kelsey top, and a cotton long sleeved button down shirt very much like last year's victoria except with maybe smaller ruffles. they had this shirt in black and white.

  9. are any new arrivals going to be online soon?

i have to make some returns at AT, so i'll likely stop by and see if there's anything. maybe a holiday weekend sale?

  10. hoping to see some new arrivals this weekend at my b&m :)

  11. I went to my B&M last night to see the new arrivals and they didn't seem to have much. A couple new tees (one with a fleur de lys & one with gold beading in a swirl pattern across the front available in white & navy). I also noticed a new skirt with polka dots. I’m sure there are more items but I was in a hurry and the store was about to close.

  12. Yes, I went to take a look and bought one of the new cami's. I'm not sure what it was called, but they had it in 3 colors. It was a sleeveless style, scoopneck with swirls and cutouts along the neckline. I think it is silk habotai with lining underneath. They had it in shadow/navy with black trim, ivory, and a pale pink. The navy was super cute! I haven't found anything else from previous JC items with navy and black (ie., bow top) that fit right, and this did! I love it!

I also noticed the other items mentioned (dot skirt, white victoria-like shirt), as well as some more coats in other colors (Carlin coat), and wool double serge trenchcoat in a heathered gray. Also, they had the minnie pants in a navy/warm blue color.

I also noticed that the Velvet eden blazer in navy was marked down to $99.99.

  13. I just came back from my B&M, and was very disappointed. They had maybe 3-4 new arrivals, and none of them were exciting...sad..

  14. I want to find some of the clothes worn by the Emma Pillsbury character on "Glee"! Could the jcrewaficionadas help identify the sweaters, accessories, etc. that she wears?

  15. Good afternoon

I want to thank everyone who assisted me in finding the Farrow Bow Top (17142). They arrived today! And...they fit! ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving, and may you all find happiness where it finds you.

  16. I stopped in the Seaport b&m (NY) and picked up a new black/white marled cardigan, style # 20270, $128. It has a shawl collar, it is long, with pockets that hit at just the right spot. This is such a cozy cardigan, and looks great with the Minnie pants! Yes, my PS finally convinced me to try on the Minnies today, and I love them! Bought a pair in black, and will get the charcoal & navy at some point. :-)

  17. I'm back from my B&M and they only had a handful of new arrivals. The manager said they were really surprised because this rollout was expected to be a large one.

There were several new sweaters including a black and cream one that is called the Cailyn Marled Cardi. It feels fantastic on and is actually a very flattering fit, too. It retails for $128. The blue and white check mens shirt now comes in the female version. However, it is still called the Mens Check Rick shirt and it retails for $64. It seems to be running true to size. I saw the sleeveless top with the cut outs at the neck but didn't even try it on once I realized it had a side zipper. There is a new black dress about the same length as the Madeline from last year but it has a different neckline and cap sleeves. It retails for $198. If I remember correctly, the neckline on it is actually more of a boatneck, with wide ribbon detailing on it. The sale section had the usual suspects and was NOT 20% off like it is online.

  18. FFM - that is the cardi that I just purchased!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh, my PS mentioned that the first round of holiday rollouts was slated for Nov. 19, but may be earlier since this latest rollout is out earlier than expected.

  20. Hi Marietta! You must have posted as I was typing. :)

Isn't the cardi just TDF? I got it, too. Now if the weather would just cool down...I can't wait to wear it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. FFM - The weather is supposed to get colder this weekend in NY, so I was thinking of wearing it tomorrow night, with the Minnie pants, to go to dinner and then a movie with my DB. I am so looking forward to wearing it! My PS also purchased the cardi, as well as one of the SA's. It seems to be a big seller at that particular b&m. :-) I am so glad that you picked it up, too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Marietta: You are going to look SO fabulous! I agree that the sweater will more than likely be a big seller and that's why I went ahead and picked it up now. Have fun tomorrow night! :)

  23. I'll be going in this weekend to return the larger of the two Jaspe hoodies I ordered. Thanks again AppGal and others who wrote about this cozy wonder! I may not need a new sweater shaver since I may not take Jasper off all fall! (I have a feeling it will be such a good friend it needs a real name. Yes, I'm a big dork.) It's such a great weight and fits so much nicer in the body than things like last year's sherpa hoodie, which was comfy but more restrictive in the body which limited what you could layer it with. The double zipper is my favorite detail. Even though it's not a YKK zip like JC hoodies used to have, it seems heavy duty and good quality. I like the contrast of the twill tape drawstring, it adds to the homespun aspect of Jasper. Definitely better than the basic sweatshirt! Thanks again for all the glowing reviews on this, Jasper deserves it.

  24. FFM - my PS was raving about this cardi the minute I walked in, and told me to get it now, because it will most likely sell out fast, and she's not sure it will be available online.

Have you thought about any other pairings with this cardi?

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I hope my DB likes it! :-)

  25. FFM~I would LOVE to see this cardi IRL! Do you think you could post some pictures on your blog? :) TIA!

  27. I went to my B&M today, very disappointed at lack of new arrivals! I did try on the black and white marled long cardigan that everyone was raving about - I loved it but waiting until cooler weather. Also tried on and liked a lighter weight alpaca blend long cardigan very that was very similar. Love, love, loved the double serge trench! Store only had it in heather grey, but I am looking for a black coat so hoping they will have it online.

Can't wait for new arrivals online, hopefully there will be a better selection!

  28. I think this rollout was pushed up a couple weeks, but I don't think it's is very big. I reviewed a few new things on my blog.

    embellished necklace tee

    blk/ivory print perfect shirt

    tuxedo pleated henley tee

    Hope the links work.

  29. Went to B&M and as others have said, nothing note worthy. Very small arrivals. They didn't have additional % off sales. Sale section was pretty picked over with lots of larger sizes left.

  30. sweetsy: I took a few pics of the cardigan and posted them on my blog. :) Cailyn Marled Cardigan

    ReplyDelete
  31. Marietta: I plan on wearing it with my Doggies tee, Embroidered Flowers tee, Textured Jersey Roses tee, the new Fleur De Lis/Crest tee, and turtlenecks. It will look great with jeans, leggings, and skirts, too. :)

  32. Just one more OT note: has anyone seen the boatneck painter tee in their store in the deep purple-y/aubergine color in a small? Mine had one left but it had a stain on it. Would greatly appreciate a heads up!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Those who went to their B&M, thanks for the feedback! I am SO excited about the marled cardigan & the navy check flannel!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Banana Republic has a similar cardigan to the JC Marled Cardigan for less money, plus you can use your 40% coupon if your store is running that promo on Wed. It is a lovely sweater I found the BR one itchy because of the wool content.

  35. Hi All! I visited my B&M last night and picked up a beautiful bracelet! Also just received an email from JCrew about the necklace version of what I picked up!
    Check it out at pixelant.blogspot.com

    Cheers!

  36. Ah I missed the gray Double Serge trench! Will have to look for that next time.

I posted about the berry-cutout cami and a few other new items on my blog too.

Happy Shopping and Happy weekend everyone!

  37. Just got back from my b&m. The black toothpick jeans are on sale for 69.99. My b&m had several 29's and one 30 left.

I tried on many new items. I like the new ruffled blouse - it fits me much better than any they've had before. The ruffles aren't so overwhelming. This is one I'd like to get if it goes on sale. I tried on a few new tees but didn't really care for them. They're cute, though. I bought the mens rick check shirt - I just love it! I knew as soon as I put it on that it was coming home with me. My ps told me that they thought it was a man's shirt at first. I'll be surprised if it lasts in the stores. One lady saw me with it on, tried it on, and bought it as well. I was able to size down without gaping at the chest. I also tried on and bought the cupcake tee in chalk. My only concern is trying to iron it. I am going to have to invest in a steamer at some point. :) The employees love these, and I can imagine that they might sell out. I like that it's more fitted than their previous ruffled knit camis. I also sized down in this. They were unpacking new jewelry as I was leaving. Many pretty items. I bought a necklace that is multi chained with 3 small fireballs scattered on it. It's so pretty! I can't wait to wear it; in fact, I almost wore it home. :) I also tried on and liked a new black and rhinestone ring. I hope it shows up online b/c the jewelry sells quickly at my b&m.

  38. I just left the B&M store in Friendship Heights in DC and I saw a lot of Tissue rolling-ruffles tanks in the rose and the slate colors in most sizes. They did not have any extra % off in the sale items but they had a lot of the toothpick ankle length jeans in the black also in most sizes, I picked up a pair. I wanted to pick up another pair of the corduroy toothpick ankle length cords but I changed my mind when I saw these.
    Hope the info helps...

  39. I went in this morning to do returns, and they were going through the new bling. The supernova necklace is beautiful in person, and knock you down sparkly. If my life was more stiletto and less slipper sock, I'd be all over it!

An SA had on the marled sweater, and looked great in it! Great, versatile piece. I have a similar style, but in a multicolor marl from Anthro from a few seasons ago that still looks great, so as much as I'd like it I'll wait for a sale.

I ordered the new cashmere cardi in the warm mustard the day before the percent off sale, and am looking forward to seeing the difference in quality since last year. Luckily, I emailed CS and asked them to retroactively apply the percent off, and they did as a one off!!! Thanks to the JCAs who've mentioned doing that, I haven't had any luck with that in over a year. Maybe things are changing for the better.

  40. Excuse the overabundant exclamation marks and overuse of the word great. I'm still wearing Jasper and he may be filled with happy juice or something.

  41. Thanks, Gigi for the review of the black/ivory perfect shirt. That's one of the new items I've been waiting to see pop up in stores and on-line. I think it might look cute on the Minnie, and I like that it's fitted. Not sure about the ruffles at the collar. What did you think about the fabric? thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Lauren S. - I don't recall the exact feel of the fabric but I know it wasn't too thin or too stiff. I remember feeling comfortable in it. I think it's 100% cotton.

pixelant - I tried to comment on your blog, but the Post Comment link didn't work. I love the braclet and think the color is great on your wrist. :-)

  43. Uh...hello...I just realized Columbus weekend = sales. *lol* All I know is J Crew only got $55 out of me this weekend at J'Crewlet. I didn't even take pics of what I saw because I wasn't inspired. As far as regular b&m, I guess they are training us to buy FP and also to not expect sales when other retailers are having them. Oh and no free shipping either on % off promos. Honestly, I'm not bitter. I just think it's all very interesting because Anthro has gotten the money I would have spent at J Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Just got back from my B&M. I bought the new black and white perfect shirt with the subtle ruffling. I love it. It was FP, but small sizes sell out so quickly at my store that I felt justified in grabbing it right away.

Also bought the chocolate brown sherpa vest, which was marked down to $98. I like the fit of it--not too bulky--and the color.

My B&M had some new items. There was a soft gray coat that may or may not be a new arrival. It was lovely but $298. They also had some pretty embellished merino sweaters, the merino turtlenecks, the tissue turtlenecks (nice purple shades) and the marled cardigan. Oh and the alpaca cardigans in the black, camel, and gray. I tried the black on and liked it, but thought it was a bit thin. I think I'll just spring for the cashmere V-neck cardigan instead.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh, and Gigi, thanks for letting me know about the shirt. I couldn't resist and bought it :)

Also, remembered some other new arrivals, namely a few new cardigans that are similar in style to the Collegiate, but with a dream knit. One was ivory with mustard yellow trim.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lauren S - You're welcome :-)

Bekah - The Jayne is absolutely worth $80. Hope you got it :-)

    ReplyDelete
  47. So a few of us made it to the Tysons store today and I tried on a whole bunch of things, but settled on some gorgeous basics. The tissue turtlenecks are always my favorites, but what I saw on-line was dullsville as far as colors...however, the store has some very pretty hues, including a deep teal/peacock color. Also, the sherpa down vest that the catalog says is not available in that olive color? Well, not at jcrew.com, but DEFINITELY available at the stores...and it is such a flattering down vest, all fitted and feminine (no Michelin man here).

The store also had a TON of cardigans and v-neck sweaters on sale in the men's section and all us ladies raided it for the smalls and tried them on...I even bought one of them (a shawl cardigan lined in fleece) because it is the perfect kind of sweater for taking walks in and driving in the car when it is chilly out (but definitely not for fancy-town). Seriously, ladies, check out the men's sale section. The four of us who went all found a cardi or button-down or sweater to wear from that section!

The Montebello Driving Mocs were down to 69.99, including the sandstone (which is still full-price on-line). I bought the toffee in a size 9...and I wear a ten usually, size down for sure on this one...

Bekah: 80 dollars for the Jayne dress is fantastic. This dress will serve you well...it looks great on everyone who I have seen it in...

  48. Went to both b&m and the outlet. Wasn't jazzed about the selection at the store - very little in the sale section and want to wait for some sales on things/wait for the bigger rollout.

The outlet was a success. Got a pair of dress pants (brownish with a faint mulberry stripe). Also picked up a button down on sale and splurged on a Victoria? cami (yellow/gray floral print). Seemed similar quality as the normal jcrew stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Went to outlet in Flemington. New Victoria in Golden Roses print was almost sold out. This was pretty, but again with that top --- too many ruffles on my neck so I always pass. Peacoats, Lady Day and berry Astrids galore. Lots of bootcut and matchstick cords. The fabric is thinner than retail, but nice and soft with stretch. The suiting section was ramped up with an awesome ruffled dress in black and gray, plus tweed pants/suit jackets. The sale section was very full and an extra 20% off.

Men's section was pretty good with some sales on sweaters, denim and washed shirts, all like 40% off. Ended up with an oxford shirt for my son and that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Went to the Outlet at Ontario Mills

Not that much stuff to look at:

    Golden Rose's Cami
Retail Version of Trouser Cords in Honey Glaze, Cream, and Gray for $30

    That's it!
