Of course I purchased a few items when it was an additional 30% and not 40% off. Grrr. But happy to see the increase in sale.

and no final sale on most of the items (even if they were FS yesterday). Go nuts, JCA's!

  2. GIRLS: do you like hoodies or cashmere sweaters better?

    1. Cashmere anything is a love for me so I own both :-) Hoodies are great for casual days and the hood is great for keeping you warm when you don't have a hat. Sweaters are more versatile; you can dress it up or down. If you have to pick one, go with a sweater.

    1. Mine shipped, as in actually shipped not just a label created, same day. Of course I live on the west coast and it shipped Smart Post, so still have to wait a week but it's better than they have been.

  4. SO many great pop backs! I recently received a promotion at work (transparent justification is transparent :p) and am carrying the weight of my entire program until we hire on a new person, so I thought I'd treat myself to a very long time want of skinny leather leggings/pants with the Collection leather biker pant!

They weren't final sale, which is super nice, since I would have begged to have my money back if they didn't fit. I ordered a size up and I'm super excited. I'm really happy with the quality of my collection leather shorts I bought last Fall in navy, so I hope these can be as much of an invest piece. Good use of my gift card/return credit. I could bounce.

    1. That's awesome! It's cool to hear happy shopping stories! (Also, congrats on the promo at work, definitely worth a nice JC treat!)

  5. Holy cow. Amazing pop backs and no FS. I caught the red patent collins loafers, which I've been stalking forever. Also picked up the biella metallic gold loafers, which are bizarrely marked down to $48 after 40%. A st. james hoodie is marked down to $18 after 40%, although smalls are now gone. Also got the collection metallic clip dot dress in pink and a couple of darling dresses for my daughter as possible options for an upcoming wedding -- all non FS, so no risk...

    1. Sounds as if you scored some good things! The striped boatnecks I got a few weeks back are on major markdown so hopefully people can grab those because they are great! Item E8773 and Item E6466

    2. No kidding about the popbacks - the "love me knot" platform pumps are from YEARS ago. I barely remember them.

    3. Thanks SO much for the heads-up on the St James hoodie! I missed them online, but was able to order both colorways from stores. Weird that the stores charge $8 to ship instead of $5 like online, but still an awesome deal. Thanks!

  6. SH#%. I put the Lady coat in subtle pink in my cart at 7 am, as soon as I checked out it wasn't available. :(

  7. Maaaan no popbacks when I checked at 5:30 this morning! I did have two Tippis in my cart - I am replacing all of my size mediums with larges. They're probably out of stock now though...

    1. Tippis are still in my cart. But I have decided to save my money for a trip to the clearance center on Friday AM! Wish me luck, JCAs. The last few times I've been have not been great but I'm hoping that being there when they open at the start of the weekend will provide me with MUCH more of a selection of stuff. (That I don't need, but that is neither here nor there.)

    2. I got an email that there will be a warehouse sale in Greenville, SC the first weekend of March. That is about an hour extra away from the clearance store in Arden. That stinks for me as I will not drive the additional time even though I think the sale is 4 days instead of just two. I did get a St. James hoodie for $17.99 online this morning. Better than digging through a card board box for this one. However, I do enjoy a good dig. It is like a treasure hunt.
      Good luck Taylor.

    3. Thanks, DD! I actually took your advice from a prior post, which is why I am going on a Friday morning. Am I taking a day off of work? Yes, yes I am. Are my vacation days for me to use as I see fit? Yes, yes they are. (This is me practicing justification to my husband when he finds out my plan for Friday.) I also intend to get my nails done, oil changed & drop some things off at the cleaners... so the day won't be spent all on shopping!

    4. Good for you!!! I know, the struggle is real. I tried to get my husband to drive over to the clearance store last Saturday and just couldn't convince him. I even said I would go by myself but still no go. (worries about me driving over the mountain by myself) I have to laugh, I have used a vacation day as well to go during the week. I hope you find a bunch of great stuff!!!!!! Have a ball. Also, they just opened a Schlotzsky's deli at the exit you get off in Arden. Don't know if anyone has ever had a sandwich from there but the original is awesome. It is like a two for one now going over there. If anyone goes, it is in the new gas station off Long Shoals Road exit off I-26 which is 3 minutes from the clearance store.

  9. Happy to see 40% off sale + no FS so decided to bite on some older items I've been wanting to try. Collection inky floral linen top, collection painter floral silk top and patchwork cargo pants in lampoon green were ordered and will see how they work. The pants are a stretch for me, but want to see if they'll work as a casual look and travel wear for upcoming trip to India & Sri Lanka. Planning to style them with leopard Samuel Edelman wedges and a white Helmut Lang tee or maybe even a linen tunic.

    2. @DD, thanks so much for the feedback. I hope I love them too. One day I'm gonna make it to the clearance store! Love reading about your finds.

    3. Let me tell you, if you are a J.Crewaholic, it is awesome. I can't even put it in words. You walk in, you run to the shoe rack, you see the pair of shoes you wanted for like a year, there they are, are they your size?, you pick them up, they are, then you leave with a big old bag of stuff, none of which you need, but all of what you want!!!!:):);) I am going the first week of March so stay tuned.

    4. That sounds like trouble...the good kind of course! BTW, I like the idea of your leopard gladiator sandals with the chinos. Look forward to hearing what you decide on the shoes & updates on your clearance store adventures.

    2. same was happening to me with the cart being emptied and my cart not syncing among my devices, but I logged off and then logged back on and now it seems OK.

    3. I lost my cart items too. After 5 days, they appeared again today.

  11. I chose to hit the snooze button a few times this morning so missed the 7am popback frenzy - saw a few things when I looked later in the morning but no must haves, the only thing I'm slightly regretting not picking up are the glen plaid Elsies with bow but I have purchased way too many pairs of shoes in the last few weeks. I am happy about 40% off and no final sale though so I will be more inclined to check tomorrow morning!

  12. I received my Rayner chino pants today. I slipped them into the bathroom at work and tried them on. They fit but I can't tell if I like them yet until I get home. I ordered the larger of my two pant sizes and I am glad I did. I could not have worn the smaller size. The fabric seems sturdy and similar to the boyfriend chino if anyone has those. They are nice quality and seem to be a good basic khaki color. For whatever reason, I think they will look the best with a sandal??? I have my collins patent loafers on today and just looking down, I didn't think they looked right. Do I need to wear a heel with this style? I don't do high heels but I have some lillian wedge sandals? This is my first pair of cropped wide leg pants, I didn't buy any of the patio pants.

    1. They sound sooooo cute! You're making me want to add them to my wishlist. I think a wedge would work great or a sandal with a kitten heel.

    2. I have a pair of the leopard fabric gladiator sandals that are still on the website that I thought might be cute even though they don't have a heel. I am going to try. They were a clearance store find back in the fall. Also, Sunday slim chinos come up at about $47.00 today with the promo and percentage off in all colors. I think now might be a good time to get a couple of colors.

    4. Ooh..thanks for the review, DD! Can I ask what your normal size is, that you had to go up one?
      Is it high waisted?

The boyfriend chino works for me in size P2. But this Rayner is not petite, so I'll see if I can get away with size 2. I didn't order a 0 since (I think) its high waisted - i have to make room for my tummy :-P

I receive the Rayner this Thursday...can't wait to try it!

      Delete
    5. Well, I have tried them on at home and I don't think I like them. I am a 10 in most pants but ordered a 12 in these. They are the right size as I am taller. I just think they aren't for me. I think the bigger legs just make me look bigger than I am. Another thing I noticed is that the pockets aren't deep enough when I put my hands in them. I know that sounds weird but they just felt awkward. I may wait to take them back and try them again with some different shoe styles. I really just think it is something about the legs being just too wide from the waist band to the bottom. Hope all that makes sense. I just wasn't thrilled. I want to be thrilled.

    6. JSR, I will be curious to see what you think. You are much smaller than I am so I think they will look better on you.

      Delete
    7. Also, I think they are high waisted and I don't know if that added to the overall big look.

      Delete
    8. Thanks. I am hopeful those pants will work on me.

Base on your review, oh boy...I can see the pants swallowing me already..haha!

    9. JSR I hope they work for you, I know how long you've been thinking about this style.

    10. (Cue sad trombone) Tried the Rayner today, and its a no. The length ended on my feet, which was fine.
Definitely high waisted on me, only because I have a short torso.
The waist was fine. Too much room around the hip and butt area. If it was offered in petite, it would totally work.

      Back it goes.

    11. I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

    12. JSR, did you try the denim, white denim or chino Rayner?

      Delete
    13. Hi Gigi - It was the chino I tried today. I also tried the denim Rayner in white, both size 26 and 27, last spring, and it didn't work out.

  13. Did anyone notice there's a new style number for bi stretch cotton patio pants? The older style is on sale for $25. Of course I was tempted to order but I reminded myself I wasn't crazy about the fit. I wonder what the difference is?

With the sale and lack of final sale, I decided to order the Campbell Capri in bi stretch cotton so I can compare to the Teddie. I am still unsure of the wider flare on myself. I also ordered the faux leather pleated mini which I liked since I first saw it. I could see wearing it for many different occasions—I'm a big fan of black skirts instead of dresses and will wear this with my usual black sleeveless, striped tees and white button downs. Totally effortless for me, as long as the sizing works.

    1. I think the new colors for spring (pink for example) got a new style number. I wouldn't be surprised if the neutral colors went back go fp overnight. I got so excited when I saw them this morning that I got 4 pairs, lol. Two cotton and two wool. I waited forever for them to get another cut and this is it!

      Delete
    2. Black was full price under another style number, which I thought was bizarre. Good for you for taking advantage of a great price!

      Delete
    3. It's possible they have upgraded the fabric, like they did with the Campbell Capris. (On their first run of Campbell Capris, the fabric stretched, so sizing down was a good idea. On their second rendition, the fabric is more stable and doesn't bag out like the older ones did.) I have a pair of the bi-stretch Patio Pants and they are like the old Campbell Capris, time release stretch! (I ended up exchanging them.) The wool ones are much more stable, I think. I'm rambling, not sure this is helpful - but I do think the wider leg is kind of a nice variation and I think you can rock them if you want to.

  14. FYI: I went to the store today to get the ponte sweatshirt that's $24.99 plus 40% off (net $14.99). The sales clerk mentioned that the price is supposedly a mistake and they will be marking up to $54.99 tonight so if you're considering the sweatshirt, purchase today.
