ReplyDeleteanyone know when the next new roll out is ? ( I realize I am being impatient but still wondering) thanks.
ReplyDeleteI was told by a store SA that there would be a mini rollout in store by mid March then a bigger rollout in store around Easter. Sorry I don't have specific dates. HTH
DeleteThe next rollout is march 7th. Not sure how big it is though!
DeleteThis was a irritation, that turned into a love, and I wanted to give JCrew credit for offering the resolution they did when they didn't have to.
ReplyDeleteI bought the Flutter Mini skirt last summer/fall because I loved the style and fit. What I disliked was the fact that it was a polyester. It was a heavy weight fabric, but it still had the appearance of a work uniform. I was frustrated that a month later it was offered, for the same price, in a different, nicer fabric. I had worn it once, so it was too late to return. I waited to buy the new skirt when it went on sale, since it was bad enough I was buying it twice. The differences in person were even more dramatic. The wool was a rich navy color, so now it was a color *and* fabric thing. I wrote on my review that I wished JCrew would not do this. I understand having summerweight cotton offerings, but this polyester wasn't done for a seasonal reason in my opinion.
They responded to my review and offered to let me return it. I mailed it in and received a gift card credit, since it was over 60 days. I really appreciated the credit, because there is no policy to support that return. I would have never bought the original skirt if I had known the second one was happening. It's nice not feeling like you wasted money on an inferior product.
That is some incredible customer service! I am not sure I would have allowed that return, honestly, lol. But I am glad for your sake jcrew was proactive!
DeleteThey reached out to me, I didn't ask. It does make me feel like a less disgruntled customer, so in terms of brand image it's probably a good move if they're doing these things. It certainly seems like product quality or consistency isn't changing direction any time soon.
DeleteOh yes, I didn't mean to suggest you had tried to return. I think it's great Jcrew reached out!
DeleteI ordered the Collection A-line midi skirt in swirl jacquard when it popped back in my size - I know reactions to the fabric were mixed, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is a coated wool fabric, almost like a painted cloth, and I think it looks very arty and cool - I'm so happy I managed to snag it! I got it for 50% off of the original (very high) price, and given how unique and interesting it is, I think I got a good deal.
So glad to hear that. I've had my eye on that pretty skirt. What are your thoughts about the sizing?
DeleteI felt it was true to size - I've been wearing a size 10 in JCrew, and the 10 fits me perfectly. As an example, I'm currently wearing a size 10 in the no. 2 pencil skirts, as well.

DeleteI also own this skirt and found it true to size and amazing. The coating on the fabric makes it unique and very cool! Lots of compliments!
DeleteThanks ladies!
DeleteI guess this is more of a review, but I really love the Teddie pant, with the caveat that proper length is key.
ReplyDeleteI was interested enough in this that I actually made a trip to my B&M to try it (I absolutely cannot buy JC pants w/o trying on!), and unfortunately, they don't carry petites so I tried my normal size 2. Very good TTS fit and great material -- reminds of the original pixies, which I loved. (I've grown a size and I don't like the new material at all.) BUT, because of the little flare, it really needs to be the right length. At 5'2", it flared out too low and just looked bad and weird. But encouraged by the fit other than length, I ordered the P4 online and just received this week. I LOVE this pant, which might just be the perfect non-boot non-super-hot-summer pant. It feels great, it can be worn with flats or heels (not good with boots, IMO), looks more polished than denim, and is this great smoothing-without-spanxing material that is very flattering. It hits lower, which I much prefer as I have no waist and high waisted pants are always too tight at the waist or too loose everywhere else. I somehow got the P4 in dusty pink (which is usually either totally gone or available in very very limited sizes) and also got black. I think that's enough for now, but on sale I would definitely buy any and all colors...
Everyone seems to love the Teddie. I think its time me to try the petite as well.
Deleteits too low for me. the only pants I like ( can wear ) are the marties (size up) amd the paleys ( reg size) I like the patio but the wide leg is just not my style ( at least not yet)
DeleteJust FYI, I've ordered the Teddie in the solid colored cotton, the mirrored floral and the geometric jacquard.
DeleteTook a 10 in the solid color and the mirrored floral, my usual size. But I had to return the 10 and order a 12 for the geometric jacquard- the total lack of stretch made it too tight across the thighs for mr.
Love the style, though!
I took the plunge with final sale on the classic black Lady coat, I have quite a few of these in various colors from over the years and it was a great deal at the extra 50%. I also used my reward card so didn't feel guilty splurging on a coat when I live in Atlanta and it's in the 60's. So you can imagine my disgust when I unwrapped my new FINAL sale coat and found wavy blonde people hair and silver dog fur all over it. I still love you J.Crew, but sigh you make it hard to doing stuff like this.
