  1. Still in love with some older J. Crew items and they make regular rotations in my wardrobe. The other day I wore a silk/linen sweater and the mixed media pencil skirt from about 8 years ago. Both are in great condition and have stood the test of time. They're from back when J. Crew had new releases full of wonderful garments with only one or two duds, not the other way around.

    1. Yes, silver_lining! I wore my Harriet cashmere coat the other day and it was laying on the chair in my office with the lining exposed. My coworker came in and was amazed at the exquisite piping and lining fabrics! The coat looks brand new and the tailoring is nearly couture. There is nothing offered today, even Collection, that comes close. "Great quality" at J. crew today is an awfully low bar. I'm okay with it ... I pay what I think the garments are worth and expect one or two seasons and I'm happy.

    2. I was thinking about this yesterday as I wore a cashmere sweater from 2006 that is in pristine condition, zero pilling and so soft. I still love finding older items on eBay since I was not at the point ten years ago where I had a lot of disposable J.Crew income! Today I'm wearing the cashmere boyfriend cardigan from 2011 that is also in wonderful shape and perfectly cozy for this single digit weather.

  2. It's a travel day, leaving bitter cold of Detroit & I'm loving my JC ensemble. Collection buffalo check sequin top paired with stripe red/blue waffle tee & buffalo check excursion vest in navy/blue. Hoping new style guide Includes pieces from fashion week. Saw JCA's Instagram pics & Ina's comments so interested to see what else is going to be available.

    2. My apologies if quality of pics are subpar... First timer:)
And earlier today saw the Necklace in Midnight Floral irl @b&m (pic styled with the stripped navy/buff sweater on the style guide) ... it is gorgeous. On the heavy side but nonethless, super pretty.

  5. So the obvious vent is that quality is not the same. I have a pair of pixie pants from 2010 that are still in awesome condition, thick fabric, etc. I bought a pair in the steel green color this winter and wore them for the first time last week. Well, a loose thread unraveled the entire waistband :( But I did want to share the good CS experience that followed: they immediately credited my account for the pair before I sent them back, ordered a new one, and shipped them 2 day for free. But she also said that if they were out of stock, since supply was low, they would reimburse me for getting them fixed on my own. I always do live chat, where I find CS agents to be super nice.

  6. Went to J. Crew last night because I was in the mall for something else and it was a ghostown. Ton of clearance all 30 off so nothing I wanted but there was one gem! A lemon layered crystal necklace that was originally 138 was 22 after multiple markdowns and the percent off so I got it. Last one left. That was a great deal even though percent off was not great..so I bet they will go to a larger percent off this weekend so I will keep my receipt handy and go and get a price adjustment if that is the case..

  7. I'm really hoping for a promo that I'll love tomorrow -- I'd love 25% off for everyone and 30% off with the Crew card.

Oh well, looking forward to the rollout next week :-)
