This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
I stopped in my store last night to try on the Teddie pants. Sale section was neat and organized with not much stock, but sale was an extra 30% off. I wonder if today (Friday) they will increase the discount for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy review of the Teddie pants is detailed on the blog, and a pic is on Instagram. I don't need them so I didn't buy. My smaller size happened to fit better (very hard to see in pics but the larger size bunched in the crotch area yet was a little tight on the upper thigh. Smaller size just had a smoother look. I wonder if sizing up more would keep the shape but make it be less clingy? I'm not sure if that would work.
Oops, link below.
DeleteI ended up opting for the Teddies in the larger of my two sizes - I had some tightness across the low hip in my smaller size. My larger size has extra room at the back waist but since I will always have a shirt covering that I decided the larger size worked best for me. I don't wear belts very often but that would also easily remedy the waist issue.
DeleteI have found in the past that the batch cutting on jcrew pants can produce significant variations in fit within the same size. I tried 4 pairs of a size 8 pant recently and found variations in rise, leg length and waist size. Of course looking for the best of the bunch only works if you can try on in a well stocked store.
DeleteTotally agree gowest. That's why pants should never be final sale.

ReplyDeleteA not-bad promo: "up to" 40% off final sale, plus the 25 off "selected" tops is still with us.
ReplyDeleteI picked up a few boxes of the little heart-shaped Valentine notes, for presents next year. Now I have to think of a place to put them that I'll remember next year.
Hi wellfedfred, I sometimes buy gifts in advance and I started writing the items in a notebook in my purse so I don't forget. I find it really helps since I've totally forgotten about things (especially toys for my kids) that I've bought and hidden. :)
DeleteNo promo at all for Canada, not even the 40% off select final sale category anymore. I can't believe it, disappointing.
ReplyDeleteNo store trip for me, but I may do some online sale shopping with all the promos from various retailers happening across the web. For those interested, I've shared a list of some of my favorites plus my personal picks from each one in this post on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteNot the promo I was hopping for but I grabbed two things: the RAGLAN STRIPED SWEATSHIRT from the recent rollout is already down to $44.99 plus 25% off so I got that and the ELSIE GLOSSY LEATHER D'ORSAY PUMPS in ornamental red, which were $99.99 plus 30% off. I saw lots of swim in xxs and thought if I was an xxs all I would wear is swim. haha.
ReplyDeleteI was planning to stop in tonight to return a few things but the pending lake effect snow storm is putting a damper on that plan. I have Monday off so I may stop in if I find out they're putting the new stuff out early.
ReplyDeleteNo store visit for me this weekend. I will be receiving the Collection sleeveless coat tomorrow. I've been wanting to try it since it was released late September. Who knows...it may not even work for me since the coat is not a petite.
ReplyDeleteIf the coat doesn't work out, I will return it next week at the store so I can check out the new stuff!
I went into the Maine Mall store in South Portland this afternoon. I didn't see anything new or anything I thought might be from next week's roll out. I didn't even see much from February's roll out. Women's sale was limited. It's a pretty small store though, with men's, women's and crewcuts. I did buy a pair of gold metallic suede loafers (E0772) for $22. The leather is pretty thin and soft and they are lightweight. Definitely not worth the $160 they were originally going for, but great for what I paid.
ReplyDeleteVancouver stores still doing 30% off sale section today. Though much of the sale merchandise is sad out of season neon s/s vintage tees, shop worn sweaters and miscellaneous flannel shirts that nobody wanted on a 40% promo a little while ago. A few grey chateau parkas and some navy cocoon coats in Robson sale section.
ReplyDeleteStopped in to get a new style guide & to try on 3/4 sleeve multicolor tweed dress from last roll out. Anne - The Fab Life did a review and I can see why this dress is already on sale with a full size run. There are some cute options in the new style guide, but will need to see in person to decide. I like the daisy print perfect shirt, gingham linen beach tunic & Elsie stripe bowtie heels. Don't own any JC heels so hoping a local store carries them so I can try on. Not sure if I'll spend almost $300 for shoes @ JC; I don't mind forking over the money if they're worth it, but it's hard for me to do it when I just bought Gucci Mallory sandals & Balenciaga studded thong sandals during end-of-season NM sales @ prices less then JC's full price. Still waiting to see cute stripes and gingham shown at NYFW for spr/sum 2016. Also hoping to see JC do something else with the pom pom trend besides the "first pass" they've come up with in this style guide.
ReplyDeleteMygoddy, I am also taking advantage of the NM end of season sale. I got a beautiful silk Rag & Bone blouse for $105 and black Reed Krakoff sandals for $123. Amazing deals, and no final sale to worry about. There are a few things on the JCrew site I'm interested in but I am confused by all the pricing games, plus I steadfastly refuse to buy final sale.
DeleteDesert Flower, what great finds! I like both of those designers and their style. Speaking of amazing deals, got an email Last Call Outlet was taking an extra 70% off clearance, so I went just to see. Picked up a pair of Prada sneakers for $105, Joie stripe maxi dress for $20, theory silk tiered camisole $19, Vince edie sandals in black that I'd been wanting for $45 (Nordstrom rack has them on sale too with Clear the Rack sale, but higher price & black was sold out), and Vince suede shorts for $48 to match the oversized suede tee I bought last spring. There were craaazy deals.
DeleteOh my gosh, you scored Mygoddy! You must be thrilled! The Vince suede shorts sound very cool. I love the sound of everything you bought. You have some good shopping karma :)
DeleteI went to the Yorkville store yesterday and today to grab a few final sale items I'd been eyeing, as they're still doing additional 50%-off. (I'm not sure why they're the only store doing it, but it does work!) Yesterday, I got the Striped Boatneck Tunic in the grey and black color (had to size up because my normal size was sold out), and today, I went back to get both of the striped t-shirts with the faux leather details (the black/white one with the close stripes and the navy/white rugby stripe one). All three of those were $49.99, with a further 50%-off. I also got the yellow Matte Chelsea Rainboots, which had been further marked down to around $37, plus 50%-off that.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I really like the buffalo check excursion vest that's final sale now, but the red one in my size is only available at Yorkdale, which only has 30%-off final sale.
In search of the Sloan glitter flats in 7.5 and black field boots in size 8. Please let me know if someone sees these in store (please put on hold) or plan on returning theirs. Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteJ.Crew's IG posted some sneak peeks of women's and men's before tomorrow's fashion show. Go to their account, they loaded four pics which makes up an entire image. I spy stripes, pretty prints, and velvet strappy heels!
ReplyDeleteYes, that print on the culottes is cute. BTW, good luck on sleeveless coat! Know you've been waiting a while to try it.
DeleteThanks @Mygoddy! So I was hoping the coat wouldn't fit me (like more reason to spend money, right?).
DeleteTurns out that I love it!!
The cut of the coat is amazing. It felt like it was made for a petite person in mind. The shoulders were fine on me, I know it's sleeveless but still. The chest was perfect, I could button the sleeveless coat and it didn't feel tight (I ordered a size 0, I'm a 36B). The length-just ended past my knee caps -- perfect! Material is nice for a collection piece. The coat didn't swallow me like I thought it would (I'm 4'11).
I hope it goes on sale before my rewards card expire end of March?
Yaaasssss, that's awesome! So glad it worked and fingers crossed for a markdown, so you can spend the difference on more JC!
DeleteJ.Crew's NY Fashion show is happening! Hashtag #JCREWNYFW on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good! The styling is offbeat, typical for a fashion show, but there are plenty of drool worthy pieces to love. The shoes are TO DIE for!
