  1. Wow, I just got the VIP email. Nice to feel "very important". Now I don't have to feel like an impostor, using the code you all so generously shared.

  2. Canada is left out again. I can't believe that we've started getting left out of promos I think this is the third different promo in a row. Our prices are already very high so how is this a good idea.

  3. Hi Crew ladies! I'm still new to J Crew as my addiction is Anthropologie. I want the Martie pant in gingham, normal size is a 10, my calfs are fairly thick as I use to dance, do you recommend I size up?

    1. Hi Anna Maria - I haven't tried the gingham Marties but if the fabric composition is the same as the cotton ones, I had to size up one size from my "normal" JC pant size. The gingham ones are so cute!

    2. Anna Maria - just saw in earlier posts that Anne from The Fab Life bought these & it looks like she posted about them on her blog!

    3. Taylor, Thanks for the shout out! Anna Maria, if you didn't see the other post, the link to my blog post with a photo of the gingham Marties is here.
I found the Marties to fit in my usual size in J.Crew's cotton pants - I'm a usually 12 in the Minnies and cotton Campbell and Teddie pants and I do not have thin legs. I have a smaller waist, so I think if I sized up for more room in the legs, the waist would be too big. HTH!

    4. Anna Maria, also know that customer service is wonderful. I email contact us @ JCrew. Com often for detailed measurements.

    5. I found the gingham marties fit me in my regular jcrew size too. Pics on my IG.

  4. I got a lot of requests to show the blush lucite link necklace on me to see the dimensions and i just posted an outfit with the light shell cotton cardi from last summer.

    1. So gorgeous, perfect with that cardi.
Did you take your usual size in the Sunday Slim Chinos. I'd love to try a pair.

    2. I got the blush lucite link necklace in store today, and I love it. I lays flat, and is super light. The only other item I purchased was the daisy perfect shirt. It actually helped to purchase in store, because the prints are set slightly differently from piece to piece. Like others have noted, I do think the perfect shirt has gotten slightly narrower in the shoulders; I have been consistently a size 4 in all JC shirts, and this time I opted for the 6.

I also tried the Teddies in pink. I just checked and it seems that they DID have pink in petites, although they now only have P2. I could have sworn there was no petites in pink yesterday. In any case, the 2 fits perfectly, so I would say TTS, but I am 5'2" with longer than average legs for my height, but the slight flare at the bottom just looks wrong for me. I really need the petite.

My store had minnies on sale, but as other JCAs have noted, they are just a different quality than when they first came out several years ago. I have been wanting new black ones, but nothing from JC was very satisfying. I ended up getting black ponte side zip pants from Ann Taylor that were on sale for $42 and bizarrely felt much more like the old Minnies than the current Minnies do...

    3. @maryeb i got my regular 0 in the sunday chinos. Love the dark coal color! They stretch out a little, but not enough for me to size down.HTH

    4. Ina- have u noticed in different colors they fit differently? I swear it seemed like the dark charcoal in sz 0 was TTS for me but in the lavender, it was looser to the point I considered sizing down (didn't have time but may return to store to do so). Maybe it's just me--or is it possible the different dye colors alter the fabric density?

    5. @peis. I had the same issue. The red fit looser on me!

  5. I really REALLY want that bunny Tippi. I am having a hard time resisting it with the 25% off but... I am 35 years old. Do I NEED a sweater with a bunny on it? I am not Zooey Deschanel.

    Replies
    1. I'm not Zooey either, far from it, but I fell in love with the bunny also. I ordered it "just to try on." Love the bunny, serious misgivings about the color and about where on my front the bunny will wind up. But it's a great bunny. If they'd made it in more appealing colors I would probably have ordered multiples.

    2. I wonder what the true color of that sweater is... hm. I love it on the site but as we all know, the color on the site vs the color in real life battle is rarely even. Maybe I'll wait until you get yours & then you can come back & review!

    3. I love the bunny sweater...must have it~ but prob will wait a bit to get it...finally something fun and cheery from J. Crew again~ Great color and great bunny.

    4. I immediately thought of Jess from New Girl when I saw that sweater! So funny.

    5. Hey, I bought the French Hen sweater AND a hedgehog sweater from Talbots. I'm off to check out the bunny Tippi. Nothing wrong with a little critter now and then!

      Delete
    6. Now if they had a sweater with a hedgehog on it, I would buy it. I have a stuffed hedgehog in my office (it's my spirit animal, I think). But in deeper thoughts, in Jim Collins' book, Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Others Don't, the author discusses the "Hedgehog Concept." It's "not a goal to be the best, a strategy to be the best, an intention to be the best, a plan to be the best. It is an understanding of what you can be the best at. The distinction is absolutely critical." This is based off "The Hedgehog and the Fox," by Isaiah Berlin who divided the world into hedgehogs and foxes, based upon an ancient Greek parable: The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing. J.Crew, have you found your hedgehog? Or maybe I just need to go back to work . . .

    7. Jennifer, you totally have me flashing back to business school - loved that book and consider it one of the most influential I've read. Anyone who is in any kind of leadership role should read it!

The sad thing is, I think J.Crew used to know what their hedgehog concept was, but they strayed away from it to compete in the fast fashion space.

    8. The bunny is cute but after buying all those critter sweaters from J Crew few years back-I realized I only wore them for one season and that was it. Plus, my daughter thinks I stole her sweater. I know some ladies will be able to style it and rock it! Although oddly enough the cactus is interesting to me but I'm not too fond of the sketch or representation of it. Also, in the "Other Retailer" post I put a birthday code from Anthro I'm not using, if anyone is interested.

    9. I hesitate to say this but I thought the bunny sweater and the cactus sweater looked like a joke. Maybe it is because I am too old but I bought the french hen sweater and regretted it but I must admit, I still have the bull dog but don't wear it. Again, make some adult stuff with weenee dogs and I don't care if I am 100, I will buy!!!

    10. I did buy the fox (face only, wearing red sunglasses) sweater from Factory which I forgot about until just now. I was not a 'tween a few months ago when I wore it, either.

Still gonna wait to see what the color is in real life before I bite. My work environment is not too serious so I think I can get away with it here. Plus I like that it has black & white in it - that makes it super-easy to pair with things & layer!

    11. Wow thanks for pointing it out, it is super cute!

    12. Just chiming in to say I actually have a hedgehog as a pet (her name is Iddy Biddy), and am super bitter that I missed out on the Talbots one. I gave up wearing 'critter' stuff last year as I turned 35, but if J Crew ever made a hedgehog sweater, I'd be all over it---like a hedgehog on a mealworm.

    13. Love the name of your hedgehog!!!

    14. I don't do critters anymore, but I DO recommend the Good to Great book to all my business students. Love hedgehogs and the meaning behind that metaphor!

    15. I took a quick look in the Girls section and love the SEQUIN FLAMINGO T-SHIRT and like the METALLIC MAP T-SHIRT -- would absolutely purchase both in an adult size. They would be cute under black blazers. I have a couple of Boys tees that fit and like them a lot.

    16. I Googled the Talbot's hedgehog sweater just to see what it looked like. I was surprised (?) to see so many other hedgehog sweater options in the results, along with sweaters _for_ hedgehogs. I learn something new every day :-)

    17. I bought a pink hedgehog sweater a couple years ago at Target a few years ago when critter sweaters were everywhere.

    1. I admittedly haven't paid too much attention to Factory lately but it's nice to see the clothes on actual models and not mannequins (and confirm my suspicions that most of their dresses are SHORT). The Factory website could take note!

  7. I personally love the striped boatneck tunic. It's greatly on sale now--I bought six. I like the longer length and substantial but soft fabric.

    1. I just received the black/grey one, and it is very soft. I immediately ordered the navy/white one, as well.

    2. Same! I wasn't sold at first, since I have enough striped shirts, but I tried it on and loved it. I only got the grey though (in a size bigger than I'd usually take, as that was all that was left in-store, so the sleeves are a bit long), since I didn't look good in the white and navy one. I'd love to see that style re-released in more colours, or also in solids.

  8. This code works for some items that are typically excluded from promos, so check it out if you've had the issue before. I always wanted another Downtown Field in navy and the 25% worked this time, yay!

  9. I placed a big order to try on with the promo, the MIDI SWEATER-SKIRT in navy, the TALL WESTERN CHAMBRAY SHIRT, the TALL PERFECT SHIRT IN STRIPED COTTON-LINEN in brilliant peri, the COLORBLOCK STRIPE SKIRT, the CIRCLE MINI SKIRT IN CRINKLE CREPE in black, the TALL MARTIE PANT IN GINGHAM, the SCOOPBACK ONE-PIECE SWIMSUIT in red, and the TALL REGENT BLAZER IN CHAMBRAY. I wish the stores carried talls, it's nice to try things on before they hit final sale.

  11. I received the "first look" email to check out new arrivals on Saturday. It says there'll be snacks. Does anyone know if there'll be a discount/promo for this event? Wondering if Canada will finally get a promo for new items.
