Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Just as a heads-up, and this may have changed since I last checked, but for that blue-striped midi skirt from the latest roll-out that's still not online, the Yorkville location in Toronto had them near the front door when I went there on Wednesday. There were only four hanging, and I'm not sure how many more sizes they had in the back. I thought it was even nicer in-person than it has been in photographs -- it's a thicker, slightly textured cotton that can be dressed up or down. The Eaton Centre didn't have it then, but like I said, that could have changed since then.

Neither the Yorkville nor Eaton Centre location has sale shoes anymore, but I'm not sure if they're being kept in the back or if they got sent to another location.

    1. To revise, Yorkville has a limited selection of sales shoes, though nothing new. They also have additional 50%-off final sale, while I think the Eaton Centre may have still been at 30%-off.

  2. I like the new J Crew mobile site - just saw it this morning. Much easier to navigate IMO.

    1. I can't find the wish list section. I like checking it from time to time in case my list is low stock..

    2. Agree, JSR, it wasn't as easy to find the Wishlist as it used to be. I had to click around in frustration trying to get it to load (eventually it did pop up somewhere, but still!)

    4. i had trouble finding it too... you have to go to your account first and log in... there's no wishlist shortcut (that i could find anyway)... and the site never seems to remember me so i have to log in every time

    5. @JSR, I was only able to find it by looking for an item, adding it to my wishlist and when that yellow box that tells you you've just added an item to your list popped up, I seized the opportunity and followed the link. Convoluted, there's got t to be a better way! Will try Miss JR's tip tho I'm pretty sure I was already signed in. (Think so, anyways, who knows!)

    6. Just for the record, I tried to find the Wishlist again on the new mobile version, but there doesn't seem to be a shortcut as before, at least none that I could find. I tried signing in, but that only served to take me to the Desktop version where my order and account history pops up - no Wishlist in sight. Boo. Oh well. I still have a bookmark to the older version of the mobile site with the Wishlist tab at the bottom and that version still seems to be supported for now, so I'll continue to use that one in the meantime.

    7. TM93 - Yes, there is NO shortcut anymore. Per Miss JR, you'd have to log in to your account, and once you are logged in, a new page opens up which is 'My Account'.
On the left side of your phone's screen is a list of options to choose from:
My Details, Email Preferences, Catalog Preferences...WISHLIST is on that list of options.
      HTH!

    8. @JSR, ah, I see it now! (When I originally saw it brought me to the desktop version of My Account, I didn't see the Wishlist option so thanks much for the detailed info!!) Good to know!

  3. No store trip for me this weekend, although I would love to track down another Chateau Parka in my size. I absolutely LOVE the coat! I wore the heather dusk this past Monday to an event in Kalispell, and have shared details on my outfit, as well as a few pics in this post on my blog. :)

    1. How does this fit? I have read so many reviews that I am totally confused on what size to purchase! !

    2. I have 3 of these, and love them all (navy, red, and ginger). I think it runs just slightly large. I am a 2/4P with broadish shoulders, so I stick to my normal size because I like having full freedom of movement in the back/shoulder/arms area. I think if you have narrow shoulders, you can size down, but you'd probably be okay with your regular size as well, as it's not meant to be super fitted like the Lady Day.

    3. Thank you for the sizing advice!! This is what I find so confusing with J Crew coats...I have a stunning Lady Day from 2008, fits perfectly and is a size 0P. Fast forward to the 2016 Lady Day and I nearly suffocated when I tried on the Lady Day in that same size. Nothing about my body has changed. It is just so frustrating.

    4. I agree with AudreyS. If you have narrow shoulders it's probably possible to size down one, otherwise go with your normal blazer size. I bought the coat in a size 2, which is what I usually wear in jackets and blazers at J.Crew. I have broad shoulders, and the Chateau fits me comfortably, although doesn't leave a lot of room for layering. However, I personally don't tend to layer bulky sweaters or blazers under my coats, so I am really happy with the fit of this one. If I were to want additional layers, I would consider sizing up to the size 4 though. Bottom line, I would contact J.Crew customer service for actual garment measurements, and then choose the size that will best fit your shoulders, taking into account as to whether you will layer a lot underneath the coat, or not.

    5. AudreyS and Melissa thanks so very much for the sizing advice! I ordered a 2 petite after calling customer service and getting measurements.

  5. I did stop earlier today ...Very few shoppers inside;sale section extra 30% for the same merchandise that was 50% a few days ago.. Saw the pencil skirt (floral/black)but didn't feel like trying as this print seems to photograph better than it looks in real life. Maybe I'll change my mind once it hits sale....
Took the time to visit BR (sale back to 40%off, got sloans @$30) and AnnTaylor(40%off some of new arrivals, sale w/add 50%off.. Interesting and a first for me, following a recent purchase ATsent me an email with a code for $50off any $100 purchase..So I tried and got a midi denin shirtdress that ended up costing $43.)

  6. Off topic, has anyone tried the Ann Taylor Eryn pumps? I'm wondering how they compare to the J. Crew Dulci kitten heel. Wish J. Crew made these in leather for those of us who live in rainy climates and won't risk suede on wet days!

    1. Hi Alyssa,
I tried them yesterday ..Took my normal size as Dulci's but tried the suede ones, not leather. Also, they are made in China($), while JC's are from Italy($$$). I cannot comment on how they will stand as just yesterday ordered my first pair (in-store order as they were out of my size on the color I wanted).
      Hope this helps you.

    2. Alyssa, I have a pair of navy leather Eryn pumps that I have worn regularly to work the past two years. They have held up well. I took the same size as the JC Dulci-- to compare, I think the Dulci might be cut slightly narrower overall. The Eryn has more room in the toe box and around the vamp, so I found them to be more comfortable for all day wear. HTH!

  7. A few more pics/reviews of coats and boots posted on my blog. I really love the collection calf hair ankle boots. The belted zip trench is a great coat! I was unsure about it after reading some negative reviews, but it's a great fit.

  10. I get to a B&M once every month or two and was able to visit a retail store and a factory store yesterday. Got some tees for a great price at retail. I also returned the silk popover in deco floral from my order last week - I loved the pattern/colors but the top was not flattering on me. At factory, I scored the navy/azure floral shorts and navy flower necklace at factory. I always appreciate a visit the stores and see/feel/try items. Staff at both stores were friendly and made the visit fun.
