    1. I may be missing something but when I checked the website earlier the dulci heels were on sale with an additional 40% off as Ina notes. I just checked now and they seem to have disappeared. I can't find them anywhere. I am looking at the Canadian website though so maybe they are still on the US site.

    2. Wondering if the Dulci heels and the Elsie D'Orsay heels were (another)pricing mistake because they're nowhere to be found on the US site now either. The Georgie Suede loafers were down to $49.99 (no 40% off) in all colors including the new releases and those are missing as well...

    3. OMG! Gone! I took a pic of my cart earlier and now they are all gone!!!

    4. sneaky, sneaky j. crew!

i ordered a pair this morning after seeing this post. i hope they ship.

    5. Definitely let us know. I actually sent an email to a VPS about the additional percentage off and was waiting to hear back before ordering. I'm peeved!

    6. I purchased the black suede d'orsay heels so I'll report back as well. Also picked up the striped tunic at the new $29.99 price.

    7. Sad I missed this. They're my favorite heel.

    8. Are the Dulcis true to size, or do you have to go up a half size like with the Martina wedges?

      Delete
    9. himmiefan - The dulcis are the rare j crew heel that's tts. I take 7.5 whereas I usually have to go up to 8 in j crew wedges and heels.

  3. Some great prices on formerly full price items, but what I wanted to buy a week ago is 40% more. ;( and still final sale?!

    1. Exactly my vent!! I absolutely loved the collarless leopard shirt that I purchased on sale recently, abd I was thrilled to see the collarless violet poppy shirt show up in the sale section today, HOWEVER, I refuse to pay 40% more than what is was a week ago ESPECIALLY when it is FS. Grrrr.

  4. @Suz I was signing on to say the same thing...a lot of new markdowns and disappointing that there's no additional % off sale on everything. As Ina said though, the dulci heels are a good deal as are the suede elsie d'orsay pumps which are $80 before 40% off.

    1. Yes, I would totally buy the suede Elsie d'orsay pumps as I've been looking for a classic black pump, but the lace pants (finally popped back in my size) are $69.99, final sale, and not 40%off! :( (along wi a few other items I wanted). That's just craziness.

  5. 7 items in my cart but still no % off sale items and still no rewards card almost 6 weeks after the period ended. Here's hoping for a good Presidents Day promo but I will still be upset if I don't have my rewards to apply.

  6. looks like they are testing us again....sorry. no % off in Feb? I don't need to stock upon anything for next winter at these prices.
...looks like the addded alot of the former sun glasses they carry to the sale section...with a small decrease in price

  7. Wishing Jcrew would try a no final sale holiday. Why can't they do what other retailers do (like Boden) where clearance returns are allowed but only for a short 7-14 day window. I would order several things that I have been considering if final sale would go away and promo was good.

  8. Just a warning that anything that got added to sale today (like the stripe boatneck tunic, e4192) will probably be final sale tomorrow. The A-line midi skirt in mirrored floral has already been cut to $79.99. Didn't this just come out?

    1. Thanks for the heads-up, this is a great reminder, as I often forgot this rule about how to figure out when stuff becomes FS!

    2. I stopped at my B&M earlier today and the A-line midi skirt in mirrored floral was on the sale rack(!!?) $79.99 with add 30%off. SA that was starting her shift was as surprised as we are in seeing this (just released) item already on sale.

    3. Add-on, SA gave me the new style guide:)

Love the Rayner chinos but I hope they come in other colors.
Those Pom Pom shoes, love! Ironically I have two pairs with that same shape (except flat) from last spring in black and red. Maybe I'll try to get a Pom Pom clip. ;)

    8. I love the pompom flats & the black Daisy pants. The black statement necklace with the stripe sweater is stunning. I can't wait to see it all in person. Thanks so much for sharing Nan!

    9. Not sure if the daisy pants are navy or black. If black I want them, the sweater and necklace are navy.

    10. @shoppingcelle, statement necklace midnight floral / navy, sweater navy/buff, scattered daisy print.. You guessed, navy background. It is navy all around. Pretty.

    22. I don't understand why JC doesn't make the new style guide available when it gives "early buy" access to some.
Wouldn't it be so much nicer if we all could browse the new style guide while waiting for the rollout? Oh well..

    23. @Nan, Nordstrom does this for the Anniversary sale & it works great. In fact, they give cardholders early access to make purchases; creates an incentive to have Nordie's charge card or debit card. Wish JC would think like this...I use my Nordie debit just as much as I use my cc since both earn points/rewards, have free alterations, etc.

  9. OT, but the striped boatneck tunic is down to 29.99 today, it went on sale and the addtl 25 percent off tees applies; I called and got a price adjustment on the 2 I ordered last week. I also got my birthday rewards (25 off 100) that just arrived applied to last week's order, which is great; due to when they arrived, I had like 2 weeks to spend them.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I just put in the code and the 25% did not apply to any of the sale tees in my cart. Maybe another fluke from this morning that was fixed?

      Delete
    2. I just ordered the striped boatneck tunic - $39.99, and then down to $29.99 with the additional 25% off. So the code worked for me.

  10. I'm wondering if any of you have had a similar experience to one I just had with J. Crew. I ordered 3 items in store, one in petite and two in regular. they shipped me the three items all in petite. I called when I was emailed the order confirmation to correct the two incorrect sizes and they had already been shipped, so they refunded the money for the entire order to my account. The return confirmation I received to my email says the items were "pre-returned," including the item I had planned on keeping. I already re-ordered the items in the correct sizes, but they did not tell me what to do with the wrong sizes.

    1. Hi @unknown - I have had this happen in the past and the CS rep has always advised me to mail the items back using the prepaid label and I would not be charged for shipping or drop them off at my local store. If you need to mail them back and don't have a label, CS will email you one if you request one. HTH

  11. I just hate it when I ruin a great J.Crew item but then oh happy day when I find it on ebay at a very reasonable price. It was one of my favorite jackets. I wish more sellers would ask reasonable prices for items they sell on ebay.

    1. eBay prices are nuts. I found the Harper tassel mules, and they are asking more than original retail. I also found them on Poshmark and made an offer based on what they were (when I didn't buy them in) store and my offer was declined. Sigh.

  13. Placed an early am order this am for the Georgie Suede Loafers E0397 - $49.99 - I thought good basic shoe not on final sale so I could return if didn't work out - I got the beige and black colors - then a little later I placed another order for tissue turtlenecks also not final and additional % off came to $22 ea - I didn't enter code for first order so I emailed my VPS and she not only gave me % off first order but waived s&h on both! Loafers great price at $29 each! Tried to order more but they disappeared from site altogether then came back an hour later out of stock? I picture a dark little room at JC headquarters - little man at computer - switching around inventory, changing prices....

  15. I kind of like the Factory Eyelet Shirt. I've had it in my cart for a week pondering because I usually don't do Factory and I question the quality. I wonder how it will look after wear and laundering.

Anyway, my vent is that the price has CHANGED 4 TIMES during that time w a $25 price swing. This is the stuff that really limits my purchases!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well. I'll never do this again! This morning I emailed the VPS who responded to an email I sent yesterday searching for a pair of shoes. Big mistake. By the time she responded, several of the items I was interested in sold out, and her answer as to why items that were 40-50% off over the past few weeks but not now was totally lame. So I missed out on the items I wanted...and didn't get any decent response anyway. Grrr...

  17. Big shout out to Isabella G.from J Crew customer service!! I purchased a pair of the (absolutely gorgeous) collection calf hair loafers on 2/7 and paid $104...fast forward to today when they were marked down to $79. I emailed J Crew and asked for a price adjustment and not only did she give it to me, but sent a lovely note about how much she appreciated my being a J Crew customer. Soooo what started out as a vent about the price being dropped right after I bought the shoes turned out to be yet another kudos to J Crew customer service!!

  18. grr the 40% final sale is only for select items...wtf?!!??!

  19. And unbelievably, the Elsie suede d'orsay pumps that somehow were $79.99 with 40% off two days ago and then sold old, miraculously found their way back into my shopping bag at full price, $255(!!!) yet final sale. thanksbutnothanks. .

  20. Today I learned -- no more calling a store to order over the phone. Customers must be present to swipe card when order is placed.

I don't like it. I don't like trekking to my store and I can't always reach my online VPS during her hours. Not her fault. They're on EST.

In-store customer service has become very spotty and I don't like getting the vibe that I'm putting someone out. Esp after I just spent time looking for parking, walking, etc to get there.

    1. No way, wow, this is very disappointing! Thank you for sharing, Gigi. I hope this doesn't apply to Canada as its already hard to find some items online (some sellout quite fast) since they don't ship inventory from stores to fulfill orders like in the US.

      Delete
    2. jan - I imagine it's a credit card security issue, but I'm going to miss the convenience. Take today, for instance. I made a store run and have frozen items in the freezer. They will be sitting in the car if I go around to J. Crew, then get my daughter, then go home. First world probs, I know. I think I'm mostly disappointed about my closest store taking a turn for the worse. If I enjoyed visiting like I used to, I wouldn't feel inconvenienced.

      Delete
    3. Another point...the store I liked calling (twice the distance) is knowledgeable about the merchandise and my personal style.

When I call to ask questions/order at the customer service center, I consistently get men. Which is fine because they're courteous and some might even have an opinion about style, but they've never tried on the clothes.

      Ok, I'm done. ;)

      Delete
    4. I don't know, it is probably more a problem of the VPSs in store needing to assist customers in the store as opposed to being on the phone placing orders.

      Delete
    5. I agree Gigi, this will be very inconvenient for many people both living close and far from stores. It may not impact sales overall because stores can be used to fulfill online orders in the US but regular customers will be bothered like us jcas who do the charge-sends.
Sorry to hear about your closest store, I know how a bad vibe in store can ruin the experience and make you want to stay away. Hopefully the situation will turn around.
I just did a charge send over the phone this week so I'm interested to see if it's changed here too.

      Delete
    6. Gigi, a few months ago I read a post on Effortless Anthropologie and how they to are doing away with the charge -send option as well. I know it has to do with security , but I forget the exact reasoning (could it have something to do with the Chip system that credit card companies are trying to implement?) Simply can't remember, but nevertheless, it seems to be affecting the way some of our favorite stores do business. Definitively an option that will be missed for the reasons you mentioned. :-(

      Delete
    7. This no charge send business seems kinda crazy to me especially if you are using the Jcrew credit card. They should have every speck of info they need to to ship items from the store to my billing address. Bah!

      Delete
    8. I admit I have never liked getting on the phone in a store and reading a credit card number out loud. Maybe that's what they mean by security?

      Delete
    9. Very distressing. I have a lot more energy tracking down items than the JC staff generally, and I've learned which JC stores will do a stock check/item locator search for me.

If JC wants to save money by avoiding merchandise losses, they'd do better to concentrate on better clothing construction and better care of the merch while it's in transit - thus minimizing returns and damage. My 2©

      Delete
    10. Ema, I think it's security and the chip, like TM93 mentioned. I know that Kate Spade doesn't hold any credit card information in their system that the in-store employees can access.

Shopping Celle - Agree with you, esp about the JC credit card.

Cate, after I gave my email or phone number, the in-store J. Crew assoc were able to see my address & the last 4 of my credit card. I only had to give the expiration & the 3 digit code from the back. But yes, there were customers without profiles that were giving card numbers over the phone. I know there's a lot of fraud out there and the thieves stay brazen.

      Delete
    11. Oh, that's so disappointing! I've used the charge-send option with stores who have that "sold-out" item that CS will swear isn't available but which the SA manages to have sitting in his/her hand (and I am so glad they found it!). The last time I did this, the store manager had to make the transaction. I remember a long time ago that I could only do this if a VPS was the go-between. I definitely understand about security, but I hope this option stays for JC cardholders at least.

      Delete
    12. JenniferD - I forgot about that. Guess that's off the table, too.
