JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. hi ladies!

i just bought an old skirt off ebay and i was wondering if you guys could help me out with styling it. it's a full linen skirt with a lighthouse pattern on it from several years ago. shopwithm showed it on her blog once here: http://shopwithm.blogspot.com/2012/07/old-school-lighthouse-linen.html

  2. Off topic, but I have a question for the Canadian JCAs: today I have received a few orders that I placed with the GMCAN15 code which supposedly includes free shipping & returns. None of my orders have the UPS return label, so how is one supposed to get the free return shipping?? If you are in Canada and you used this code, did you get a return label with your order?

    1. Send it back via Canada Post (with tracking), then email the receipt to J. Crew, and they'll credit the amount back to your credit card. (Be sure to include the order #, etc. in the email.). I've done several returns and never had a problem. HTH!

  3. Hi Louise, I did not receive any return labels either. I suspect you need to either mail a receipt with your package or fax the receipt to customer service and they will credit the shipping cost to you. Quite a hassle.

  4. Hi,
Years ago, I bought a JCrew Collection vest at a sample sale and have never been able to figure it out. Here is a link.

    1. If that is you selling it, hope it sells. I don't know what I would wear that with. Maybe someone else will have some inspiration.

    2. That's really cute. It would look good with a simple white long sleeve/3 quarter tee underneath and dark jeans!

  5. Slightly OT but Groopdealz is having another sale on the large JC "inspired" rose necklaces.

  6. I just bought the No. 2 pencil skirt in neon tweed (http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/skirts/pencil/PRDOVR~48730/48730.jsp). I love the color, and think it would look really fresh with just a white T shirt, but I also love the little strands of red and would love a matching sweater. Has J Crew put out something like this? I was trying to think whether I'd seen a Jackie in this color. I think the color is like this other pencil skirt I bought: http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/skirts/pencil/PRDOVR~36551/36551.jsp (yes I've been on a roll with pencil skirts!).

  7. Hi! I just wanted to add my two cents per the free returns discussion. A lot of stores offer this but don't always include the label in the package. I would call CS or do an online chat and they will send you the label. I've done this before and it worked fine. Personally, I would rather do this than pay for it and expect them to reimburse me.

And now back to J.Crew! :)
