This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
I stopped by Jcrew yesterday and they had a blue and white cotton stripe dress (sleeveless) that was not anywhere on the website. They did not have my size. I will try again this weekend. I wanted to buy the silk color block pants on Wednesday, but on Thursday they had gone back from 69.99 to $130. Jcrew and its pricing games!!!
ReplyDeleteMS, I tried that dress on in store. I think it is the same style as the Knit Princess-Seam dress, just with stripes (I don't see it on the web site either). It's adorable and I'd get it if it fit me better. It's not the dress, it's me, I need a bigger size for my waist and a smaller size for my upper body. I think this dress will fit most people well.
DeleteI may go. I am on the fence about the white Beaded Rose necklace. I bought it on sale, but also got the Groopdealz version to compare. I prefer the J. Crew version (the disks behind the flowers are smooth on the J. Crew version but concave on the Groopdealz version), but for the price I think I need to keep the Groopdealz one. I guess I might return them both, they might be too big on me. I saw a similar white one at Anthropologie that has a bit more bling on it, if anyone is interested.
ReplyDeleteI got the Anthro red one. I like the scale of it more, though it is still a statement piece. I know some people think it is blingier: maybe, but I like the midcentury feel of that bling: like midcentury light fixtures. I also like the mint beads which are combined with the red flowers. I can't recall the color of the beads combined with the white flowers. Also, $68....
DeleteI went last night and got the white beaded rose bracelet. I have the red beaded rose necklace but missed out on the bracelet, so when I saw the white one in the case, I practically mauled a SA for it.
ReplyDeleteI also got the darby suede loafers in blush stone for $70. $5 more than they were selling for at the horrendous sample sale and at least I know they are brand new.
Jessy, what a score on the Darby loafers! I have been stalking them on line with no luck. Do you know if your store had any more?
DeleteJust found this blog and love it!!!!
I'd be interested in hearing about the fit of the skinny utility chinos, if anyone tries them on this weekend. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely skinny. I don't think they had any stretch. I went up a size in them, but I didn't buy them.
DeleteThanks, Cate.
DeleteAgree, they fit one size small IMO. I liked them but it is a very heavy chino for summer.
DeleteI agree, Ema, they were a heavy weight for this time of year where I live. I seriously think J. Crew is designing for a climate that is a lot colder than my own, which is odd to me because I'm in about the same climate as NYC which you'd think they'd be focused on.
DeleteI didn't find them too snug, and I think they will stretch. I liked both the olive and the black/gray. They have sort of a sanded wash feel to them--soft but thick. Definitely a fall transition piece. I liked that there was no thigh pocket--I don't need any extra layers there!
DeleteI appreciate the add'l opinions.
DeleteI'm hitting the highway today to the Factory store. I saw a cotton linen sundress on a blog that looks promising....if it's long enough. It's navy with red horizontal stripes. I didn't see it on the website, so I called and a nice young man talked to me about it. My only concern is it's little string straps...not wide enough to cover a bra strap, but we'll see. I'll let you all know what I think of it.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the Factory reincarnation of the Derby dress. I think a few bloggers have reviewed it recently but I can't remember who that was.
DeleteAppGal reviewed that dress in this post.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteTried the Factory striped linen/cotton dress. Hated the thin bra/swimsuit adjustable strap and SURPRISE...too short. A good 3" above the top of my knee. I don't get it. This style of dress is supposed to be at the knee or a little below. So it you're 5'9" or taller, it will probably be too short. Another dress that could have been a keeper only if the Crew would have went the extra mile...or 3" in this case!
DeleteStrayCat, the original retail version of this dress is plenty long (and didn't have adjustable straps). I'm 5'4", but even if I were 5" taller it wouldn't be too short. I don't know why they did that with the Factory version.
Deletethat bums me out. They apparently are doing this short cutting to save money. But how are they saving money when they end of almost giving items away on clearance. I don't understand their business model. I could deal with the tiny straps, but this style dress is suppose to be knee length or even longer. It looks weirdly unfinished at it's short length. But of course it will be perfect on shorter gals....it's just a bad time in fashion to be tall and older. Finding cute dresses/skirts with length is like finding faltering jeans or swimsuits. It's a chore.
DeleteI don't get it either. Somehow I'm not sure that dress would be right even on someone shorter. I think you have to have a certain body type to wear this dress with the proportions as they are. That seems to be the case with a lot of J. Crew clothing. Those molded/bra cup one-piece bathing suits are impossible on me, my torso is the wrong length or something. It all leads to a lot of trial and error, if one wants to stick with J. Crew.
DeleteGigi, I appreciate you linking to my review!
DeleteInteresting--I did not find that dress to be short AT ALL on me. I'm 5'6" with a 32" inseam. As you can see from my pics, the size 4 hit me below the knee and the size 2 was right at my knee. This is a very reasonable length for me.
StrayCat, perhaps the one you tried on was a dud? Did you try on more than one size?

ReplyDeleteWill be going tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSome reviews here.
Hi Rose, your link did not work.
DeleteSale is now 25% off + an additional 30% off in the retail store.
ReplyDeleteRynetta, thanks! That's a great deal. Now I'm going to have to make the drive to the store this weekend.
DeleteYes, I was just at a B&M and was able to repurchase some items with the additional discount. However, this did make the items Final Sale. I also picked up the Colorblock bracelet (02150) with the 30% off from the new arrivals. Love it, it is more brass than gold which I prefer and the colors are muted.
Deleteshopalot: You're very welcome! It is a great deal!
DeleteJRSConifer: That bracelet is absolutely adorable!
WHAT? Are you saying the 30% off stacks on top of the 25% off??!
DeleteHow did I miss that. I just came back from a B&M. *facepalm*
Rosie: Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying! It's a great deal!
DeleteReally? I'm going to make a return. Was planning on dashing in and out w/blinders on, but maybe I'll have to scan the sale section.
DeleteI must admit it was confusing, I had to ask a SA to explain. The signs in the sale section said 25% off sale merchandise. And then the whole store is 25% off or 30% if you use a J Crew card. He said they are just trying to clear out the sale section.
DeleteWow. I may have to venture out tomorrow then. That would be some really good deals.
DeleteThanks, rynetta and JRS! I wasn't doubting you so much as the fact that J Crew had reached that level of clearance section desperation.
DeleteI'll probably hit another B&M tomorrow but won't do return/rebuys. Not quite worth the trouble.... my merino Tippi from last week would now be $10 instead of $12, haha.
Oh wow. I guess I will be going to the store tonight to check this sale out. Thanks for the heads up! :)
DeleteI agree Rosie. I only repurchased 2 items, one I saved over $10 and the other I decided to size down and did save $8. I did pick up a Jackie cardigan for $20 in a darker color for Fall but it really is the same old sale stuff that has been around for weeks and weeks and hit or miss on sizes etc. Plus, it is Final Sale so be careful about the sale googles :)
Deletegoggles...I knew it did not look right.
DeleteI wasn't planning on going until I saw the extra sale post...just ran in and got 2 pairs of suede ceces in fresh plum and vivid aqua ($26 each), mila cap toe ballet ($26), color collage statement necklace ($60), lightweight v-neck merino $20. Total score! Thanks Rynetta for the heads up :)
DeleteThank you, Rynetta! I popped into my B&M today and scored the Origami Dress for $31 (my size hadn't been there the last few visits but mysteriously appeared today!) and the seersucker skirt for $35.
Deleteshopmurphy and Rosie: You're very welcome! Wow, those are great deals!!!!
Deleteoops, the $60 for the color collage statement necklace was before the add'l 30% off...as Sally just pointed out it ended up $42 :)
DeleteThis was an AWESOME promo! :)
DeleteIf anyone sees the colored pave bracelet could you please let me know? Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteMS, I was in the Harbor East store (Baltimore) Wednesday night and there were 2 left on sale for $79.99.
DeleteHmm I wonder if the additional % off sale is in all B&M stores right now or just some of them? I just made a purchase yesterday (which included some sale items) when it was just the flat 30% off the store. Do you think I'd have any luck getting a price adjustment (even though their official policy is only full price items)? They were sale and not final sale items.
ReplyDeleteI had no problem going to the MOA J Crew and getting the price adjustment on the sale items I bought yesterday. Though they did say its not policy to do so and the items are now final sale, but for 26 dollar suede cece's you can't beat it! I would definitely bring in your receipt and see what they can do.
DeleteNice! Thanks for the tip Margaret.
DeleteI just got back from one of my local B7M stores. SO much of the same, still not selling even with the extra percentage off. There were some pretty cashmere sweatshirts for $89 which came out to about 48 dollars after the discount, but I opted not to buy one. So many of the items are still at such high prices that even with the additional markdowns, they are really not enticing.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how much the double row pave necklace is? It's an in-store item only. TIA!
ReplyDeleteI bought the double row mini pave necklace today for 41.99 after discounts.
DeleteI was at the Orlando millenia store this morning and got some awesome deals! Shocking pink high heeled sandals (Mira?) for 29.99, the double stranded parrot necklace for $40ish, braided enameled bracelet for $24 and the daisy lace skirt in white for $20ish. I wish I had more time to look around, but my 14 month old was getting fussy.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone spotted a summerweight linen sweater in white in an xs hanging around in the sale section?
ReplyDeleteIf anyone spots an enamel double frog bangle in store, please let me know :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear what everyone is finding this weekend! My b&m is 2.5 hours away :(
Hi Ladies - If you see NO. 2 PENCIL SKIRT IN DOUBLE-SERGE COTTON in lilac color size 2 in store, would you please kindly let me know? Thanks so much!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't know it anyone has mentioned this but I was checking out jewelry pieces and noticed that the SEASIDE FRINGE NECKLACE is missing a stone in the stock photo. That piece just reviewed itself off my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteD*ska, you should certainly send an email off to them letting them know and in return they should send you a perfect one..
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody have any thoughts on that adorable pave bow ring? Saw it yesterday but it was in the case and I didn't want to have them take it out. Also does anybody know the store price?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the white beaded rose necklace is on sale in stores? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe one in my store wasn't marked down, but I seem to remember some other JCA post where the rose necklaces were discussed as being on sale.
DeleteThank you! I was thinking I remembered the same thing. Thanks again! :)
DeleteIf any one sees the Baja embroidered top Size 8 in the Madagascar peri color, please let me know. Thanks so much!! I did a WWFI the other night and haven't heard anything. I think I might have been better calling some stores myself.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me how much the linen baseball sweater is in stores? if it's on sale, please let me know which store! TIA :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a JCrew store to go to...so sorry for being off topic but I JUST received my July "Style Guide" and I think it is the worst women's guide I have ever seen. Crewcuts was adorable! Page 008, a random chicken...huh, and page 044, their commentary on their vintage cotton tees cracked me up...Lingere, NOT gym gear. WTF...I would have written...Holes, it is just part of our vintage feeling...and you get yours in days rather than decades!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the updated Irl Pic Guide - Sale. Remember, THEBEST for 30% off your purchase online.
ReplyDeleteI called my local store and they did a store search for the jeweled medallion sweater size xxs for me. They found it 39.99 25% off plus 30% of card member plus shipping for a total of 26 dollars great deal! The store they ordered it from had 7 in stock so there are more out there!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is still looking for the Convertible Jewel-Collar Sweater or Indigo Colorblock Jacket for $39.99 minus discounts, Lake Forest IL still has 5-6 of each (not sure on sizes). They are all still marked $99.99 because that store is so bad about markdowns; otherwise, they'd be gone.
ReplyDeleteamazing! would they send to NY if I call? Never done that before.
DeleteYes, stores will do a charge-send.
DeleteIf anyone sees the seville espadrilles in any other color than neon rose in 7.5. Please let me know! aruzia2005@yahoo.com
ReplyDeletetry king of prussia, i saw them in stripe in sizes 7, 71/2 and 8. i'm usually size 7 at jcrew but had to take these in 61/2 because my foot kept sliding out of the 7. these were marked 89.99 before the additional discounts.
DeleteAny thoughts on the sizing of this year's seersucker skirt compared to the 2012 version?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Long-sleeve pocket tee in stripe. Got my usual XS and it fits really well.
The punk floral dress is 129.99 before the 25% and 30%. Sizes still available online! HTH!
ReplyDeletei stopped by a b&m store to see if i can return the dress and repurchase with the 30% off and it kept coming up as 178$ (FP) and SA would not adjust off the $129.99 price. I wish I had another store in town!
DeleteI'm so sorry--it's 129.99 online, my online VPS did it for me.
Deletemaybe i should try it that way, i thought i'd ask at the store since i was there anyway. Thank you AD MD!
DeleteAny store should honor the online price. All the SA has to do is call the catalog and get a verification of the price and the stores should honor that! I don't understand why there are so many discrepancies of this policy. I've done a lot of charge sends from stores and I've never had a problem with a store associate honoring the better deal! This is just really frustrating to me!
DeleteI was at the Grande Blvd. store today and saw an item that was on sale online but not in the store...I asked SA to match the price and SA said he would, however, that he would not honor the "additional percent of sale merchandise" which was a store promotion...how can "store policy" be so different from store to store?!?
DeleteStopped in my local B&M. Lots of ladies milling about in the sales section. As hard as I tried all I bought was a red striped painter's tee and a little red/navy key chain wallet both for $16.89. I almost bought the parrot necklace with the turquoise and yellow beads but I didn't like the clear dangles. I would have liked those in a color. SO underwhelmed with this rollout. I don't see anything I like. Saw those tropical prints and "ugh"....don't do anything for me. I hit Land's End in Sears and they are doing 30% on top of clearance and sale prices too. I picked up quite a few things...a bikini, huge beach towel, navy short sleeve blouse, navy tee, a chambray shirt dress that I'll use as a swim cover up or a casual dress and a yellow gingham dress shirt for my husband. All that for $120.00. I love all these sales!
ReplyDeleteI noticed the Nolita white denim jacket has been lingering in the online sale section and I just wanted to say, it is really excellent, better than the white denim jacket from a couple years ago - trimmer fitting against the body and substantial weight to the denim. I have been wearing it quite often as there have been so many cooler days this summer. I posted an outfit pic of the jacket with the silk slip dress from last year (or was it the year before? I can't remember) on my website here. In case anyone is wondering about sizing, I got the XS, the smaller of the two sizes I normally order in tops and jackets. I found the size Small was a little too boxy while the XS molds really nicely to the arms and upper body.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time commenting but I visit this blog before making any purchase as I've always find great information and sales codes that would not have been unavailable to me. Anyhow, I popped into ht local B&M today after reading an earlier post about stacked discounts. I'll admit, I figured my store here in MS wouldn't be in on the fun, but to my delight they were. I purchased a pair of Minnie pants in brilliant blue and a pair of cafe capris, Minnie's were $ 16 and the cafe capris were $ 28. Greats deal since they are still very pricey online. Love this blog!
ReplyDeleteif anyone is looking for the Janey patent flats in apricot mist in sizes 61/2, 7, 71/2, King of Prussia store has one of each. they are marked 99.99 before the 25+30% off. i also saw cece flats in suede and leather (suede in blush and aqua, leather in brilliant yellow and fuchsia pink). the ceces are marked 89.99 but ring up 49.99 before additional discounts.
ReplyDeleteI got the floral lattice necklace for 179.99 (my store matched the online price) plus the 30% plus 25% off! Score!
ReplyDeleteSammie - I'm happy for you. I told the SA at my store that I saw it on sale online but since it was sold out online, she cannot verify the sale price on her iPad. I got the Crystal floral statement necklace instead, the SA honored the online price of $168 plus 25% off plus 30% off.
DeleteSally-I was thinking of getting the crystal floral one too (it's gorgeous!). My SA was able to verify the price via their system on their iPad. You should go back and have them look it up again or call online because online can verify the price with the style number (if you really want it).
DeleteSammie - thank you for the tip. I'm good for now since I got two other necklaces (also on sale). So many great deals!
DeleteWhat color is on sale? Per the online team, the crystal color was still full price.
DeleteSally-np!
DeleteMel- the SA in store looked it up on the iPad using the crystal (non-colored) item number. The online team also confirmed the online price was 179.99.
Thanks Sammie! I will try my B&M store in the morning. I've had my eye on that necklace for a while.
DeleteColor collage statement necklace (02151) is $79.99 in store plus 25% off plus 30% off ($42) compared to $129.99 online plus 30% off ($90.99).
ReplyDeleteCrystal & Neon Chevron necklace (03357) and Color collage necklace (02179) are $79.99 in store plus 25% off plus 30% off ($42) versus $99.99 online plus 30% off ($69.99).
If anyone sees the hummingbird flats in a 8.5 or 9 on sale in store please let me know.
ReplyDeleteWere the hummingbird capris ever marked down?
Or the multicolored floral lattice necklace? I'd love to find it in this awesome sale
Yes the capris did get marked down to $179. They did pop back a couple weeks ago and I was able to grab them during a promo..so they might again! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI went to Pacific Place in Seattle. They had an awesome collection!!!! 25% sale and 30% off entire store on top of that! I got 2 summer straw hats for vacation (one pink and one aqua stripe) for $10.49 each! I got the Knit tunic dress with marled trim for $26 (it's $64 online!), tortoise capri sandals for $18.37, Linen bandana tee $34.66 and the A-line pnnte dress in Poppy for $41.99!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when the stacking ends? Can't make it in til tomorrow unfortunately, and am hoping it's still going tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI heard it ends on 6/24.
DeleteThx!
DeleteAnyone know when this sale/promo ends...I can't go until next weekend. thanks
ReplyDeleteCarolyn from Vancouver
How did I walk out of there empty-handed today? It boggles my mind. Part of it is my fault (gained weight and nothing looks right); part of it is la Crew's (see through sweaters and tees, dresses too short). Ah, well! Congrats to those who have found incredible steals! If I wasn't looking like a stuffed sausage in them, I would've bought a couple pairs of the printed toothpicks...
ReplyDeleteI don't recall a stacked 25% / 30% promo EVER at JC. Thank you, JCAs (Rynetta first!) for noting this here!
ReplyDeleteMy 3 elementary kids have been on summer break for the last 2 weeks so I have not done any in-person shopping at all, but I "had" to run out to get gas today, which is conveniently at the mall with my JC B&M. In my 15 minute pop-in, here's what I got: cropped matchstick in indigo floral (39265) for $10.49 after promo, tortoise barrettes (33974) in black for $3.67 each, nora stripe ballet flats (42006) for $26.24, Janey Calf Hair (98541) for $52.50, Janey patent in apricot mist (98428) also $52.50, and cafe capri in pinwheel eyelet for $20.99. Total for all was less than $200. So crazy. And JC is finally learning how to thin out that sale section!
SA told me that today was the last day of the promo. But she was new, so maybe or maybe not correct.
I went into my store today and the SA said there is no stacking...only 25% off of full price items and 25% off sale items. Oh well...my wallet thanks me. There is bit of inconsistency with these promos.
DeleteYesterday I shopped the stacked sale and today was at a different JCrew and heard the same explanation and it made me tired to think I would have to explain the promo to the sales staff. The stacking seems pretty universally applied this time (according to the blogosphere) and the store I was in yesterday enthusiastically told all customers about the stacking. Just like I hate seeing so much promo and sale merchandise without proper pricing, I hate knowing more about promos than the SAs. So I left. I hope the stacking is on tomorrow and I will go to yet another store... Happy with my two items yesterday, seahorse shirt and blue suede oxfords!
DeleteI was also told that today was the last day of the promo when I went. Perhaps they are referring to the extra 25% off sale?
ReplyDeleteI walked out today with a convertible hobo (18252) for $47.24 -- I'm pretty sure it was a return, flower lattice necklace (95091) for $94.49--thanks sammie!, tiered stone necklace (04002) for $41.99 , and a pair of minnie twill pants (18850) for $20.99.
I forced myself to leave the tartine satchel in casablanca blue, which would have been roughly $120 there. I am definitely regretting it....
I picked up a pair of Cece sunburst & the Cece Liberty Floral flats for $39.99 plus 25% off. What a great deal! I have wanting the Liberty florals.
