J.Crew is also offering an additional 30% off merchandise at brick and mortar (B&M) stores (just show them the image above or click here) and online by using promotional code THEBEST.

Thrilled to see another promotion being offered both in stores and online. Honestly though, I am so surprised to see how many variations of the same offer there are! The promotional tiers are almost too much to keep track of.

Is your store offering this sale? Will you be checking out the new arrivals? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  2. Yay, I got the Charlie fatigue jacket in navy on pop back! I'm usually an XS in JC fatigue jackets, but only the S was available -- I know it runs large, but hopefully I can make it work...

    1. I have a review of this jacket here.

For those interested, ASOS has a really nice one also made of cotton here.

  3. So nice to have another promo for full-price and sale items! I'm hoping to make it to the mall this week to check out some of the new arrivals in person. Hopefully there will be some new markdowns in the sale section, too. :)

Btw, there were several new promo-priced items added this weekend. I've noted them at the top of this post.

    Enjoy your day everyone!

  7. I'm toying with the idea of biting on the ankle-cuff pumps in riviera sand. Has anyone tried them? Is the fit tts? Is the quality there?

    1. KLlovestoshop - I saw them on a blogger, but lost the link after a reboot. They were beautiful. She was a style blogger, not a reviewer so no mention about fit. Sorry I can't be of more help, but they are stunning. In that color.

      Delete
    2. I tried them when they first came out. My regular size was too tight in the toe box, went up half a size and they were perfect. I didn't care about the color though, they are too pink for my taste, I felt they would be hard to pair for me (it is,very similar to the dusty pink of tge suede Everlies). I tried the black ones too but they read too aggressive. In the end I decided that I didn't need them :-).

  8. Has any one tried the Lillian wedge sandals in mirror metallic? Do they run true to size? I have the Lillians in suede, and found that they ran 1/2 size large (I usually take US 7.5 in JC ballet flats, and the size 7 in the suede Lillians was a perfect fit). However, I am concerned that the shiny metallic leather may not be as stretch as the suede. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Louise - Haven't gotten a chance to review the mirror metallics yet. Take the size you took in the suede Lilians. I've tried suede (revivew) and the glitter (review). I took 7.5 in all 3. I almost always take an 8 in J Crew shoes, except the Cece ballet flats. HTH

  9. Got up and already had a big cup of Crewlade. I went to order the blue Tybee sandal and it's sold out in my size. WTH? Why does size 10 sell out so fast? So I had to call and place a WWFIFU order. Ugh. I need to get me another online personal shopper. James moved into another department. Can anyone suggest a good one? TIA!

    2. I haven't been to the "fountain" much this year but when I do go and get a cup it's usually BIG and running over! HA! It just irks me that when I finally want something it's sold out online. I hope they can find them for me!

    4. Hi Cancan, Thanks for the tip. I didn't know the crew hasn't figured out to carry more size 10 since it seems so popular. I'll make sure I buy shoes ASAP from now on. I'm hoping they will be found or maybe return on pop up.

    5. Update: I hadn't heard a beep from the Crew, so I started calling local stores. Called University Village store in Seattle (I live in Portland and only one store has shoes and they didn't have it) and Larissa searched and found one pair in Houston TX. She told me to tell them to look in the direct returns and return boxes for them. I called and Lisa found them for me in the returns box! A big thank you to Larissa and Lisa for outstanding service. And I got 25% off and free shipping. Yah!

  12. I purchased the Martina suede wedges in bright pomegranate. I haven't seen any RL pics of these shoes and the online pic reads more papaya than pomegranate to me, so I'll be interested to see what color they end up being. Has anyone seen these IRL? They were low stock so I purchased immediately, so I didn't spend too much time perusing the rest of the sale section, everything else I looked at seemed to be the same old sale stuff we've been seeing for weeks.

  13. Kicking myself a little, had the Liberty Margaret Annie in my cart this morning and debated on pulling the trigger to order, now it's sold out in my size. Debating on doing a WWIFY or seeing if it pops back tomorrow, especially since ebates is offering 6% back right now.

Has anyone tried on the tee shirt dresses? I'm debating about ordering the seahorse print but I don't know if it's a thin material or more substantial since JCrew's tees are all over the place with that.

    1. katertott - I reviewed the cove paisley and the block print stripe dresses in this post. They ran tts, imo. They're intended to be coverups, so they're lightweight. However, with the right print not being see-thru, I would wear it as a dress. HTH

      Delete
    2. Thanks! I love the seahorse print but I really don't need any coverups if I can't wear it as a dress. I suppose with things not being final sale there's no risk in ordering it. I appreciate the review!

  17. Good day fellow JCAs! Just wanted to let you know there is an update to the post: A big "thanks!" to Katy, who let us know you can get an additional 30% off merchandise by using promo code THEBEST.

    1. Alexis, does this mean that we can use promo THEBEST on top of promo CARDMEMBER? I didn't think we could stack codes.

      Delete
    2. Hi Liza! Unfortunately its one code or the other (you can only use one promotional code per order). But if you didn't want to pay with your J.Crew credit card, you can at least get the same percentage off. :)

    3. Thank you for the clarification. All these different codes are confusing me.

  18. Stores are running the online promo, but not the additional 30% off + the promo like we were able to do on the last one.

So 25% off store wide or 30% w/your J Crew card. No additional 30% off final sale taken before the global promo.

  19. has anyone seen the water ski girls tank IRL? i LOVE LOVE LOVE the print but don't know how i feel about the higher neckline.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've been looking for it too. Hate those high necklines. My local stores haven't received it. I've seriously been contemplating buying it and having a tailor alter the neckline. I really do love the print -- have been hoping it would be on something more beach-house-y -- skirt, shorts, swimsuit, etc. Not a high-necked tank and a scarf! Incongruous. Waste of a great print.

      Delete
    2. I have the water ski girl tank. I've yet to wear it, but the high neck isn't a problem for me. The bra may be. A racer back doesn't quite sit beneath the shirt. I guess a halter or strapless would be ideal. I plan on wearing the top in the evening only. For the day, it would be a bit much with the higher neckline. The print is so unique and fun, I'll make it work! HTH!

      Delete
    3. I really adore this print too. Is the tank sheer?

I sent J.Crew an email asking about this print. Here is the response: Thanks for reaching out. After researching the print, I'm able to confirm that we will offer the Water-ski Girls String Hipster (item #78309) along with the Water-ski Girls String Top (item #77165).

I was hoping for something in cotton, but I guess not.

      Delete
    4. If you wear a nude bra, it isn't too sheer. The print also distracts from the ivory transparency. The top isn't too fitted on me, so that helps too.

      Delete
    5. AllDressUpNoPlaceToGo, how was the sizing on the tank? Did you go with your usual size? Thanks.

      Delete
    6. Maryeb, I did take my regular size. It's not fitted on me. I was afraid if I sized down, the silk would pull in the back. It would have been nice to try the smaller size to see the difference. I feel like it's a bit blousy on top in my regular size. My hubby thought it looked okay. He's pretty critical with fit. Lol!

  20. two things:

does anyone think there will be a few more new things added later this week? wondering if i should hold off ordering until i see what else might come.

thoughts on the boardwalk skirt in linen? especially the polka dot one. i tried it on and it's cute... but i'm wondering if it's too cutesy. i need "professional" opinions. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It was too cutesy for me, but this style skirt is always too cutesy for me even without polka dots. This might just be because my style doesn't tend toward the cutesy stuff, plus I'm in my 40s. It was a bad match for me all around, but I really liked it. However, if I thought it looked good on me and knew I'd wear it, I'd get it. This just wasn't the case for me personally.

      Delete
    2. Miss JR - Review of the boardwalk polka dot linen on AppGal.

I don't gravitate toward the cut of the skirt, but I ended up w/2 similar ones from last them and really like them. They're plain, though. Not prints.

      Delete
    3. Thank you!

I'm going to hold off on the skirt for now. I'll revisit it if it makes it to sale and get it then if I still like it.

  21. I decided that I definitely needed the Linen Schoolboy Blazer in white for work this summer, so I was extremely glad to see this promo in my e-mail inbox this morning! I managed to scoop up a size 8 before they sold out. Also bought the Silk Flutter Top in Navy since I like the fit of the Flutter Geo Dot Top so much. J.Crew's little silk blouses are so great with suits for the office, I think I own a half-dozen of them at this point!

  22. This is perfect timing because I need a suit for residency interviews! Does anyone have input on sizing and styles? Not sure whether to go with the Hutton trouser or 1035 trouser....and I'm not sure on the jacket either (1035 vs Sidney). Do the pants run true to size? And does anyone have input on which style or color? I'm leaning toward black or charcoal pinstripe....thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Beware that many of J Crew's suiting pants are unlined. I know this may not bother some people, but it's a deal-breaker for me. Other than that, it does fit TTS.

I stick to Banana Republic's lightweight wool line for suiting. I think the quality is incredible for the price point, especially if you can get them on sale (30% off today!).

      Delete
    2. Oh I'm glad that you told me this! I actually was just reading an article on tips for residency interview attire and it mentioned the importance of pants being lined to prevent wrinkling, etc. So I'm going to look at the Banana Republic options (thanks for the sale tip too!)

      Delete
    3. I dont shop there much, but when I am looking for suiting I shop at The Limited, you should check it out! They usually have a sale running (never buy anything from them full price!). Good luck with your interviews!

      Delete
  23. @Erika, I would second the vote for BR suiting. Their Martin pants are my favorite suit pants. My J.Crew suit pants from years ago are lined but as Rosie said, they aren't anymore. The Hutton pants are high-waisted and can be funny to style depending on what blouse you choose. I'd probably recommend the 1035 trouser since they sit a little lower. I'm pretty tall and I find the Huttons to swallow me up if I don't style them right.

As for color...if you don't own a black suit, I think black is your best bet, but grey would be something a little different too. HTH and good luck with your interviews!!!

  24. Has anyone tried on the summer weight linen sweater? I like the cobalt color, but I'm wondering if it runs big. It looks huge on the model.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Julia - it's big, boxy, and rather unflattering in my usual S. I sized down to an XS on a new order so we'll see if it's any better. I'll let you know!

      Delete
    2. Agreed. I bought my usual size in the cobalt and regret it now since it also stretches with wear. I would definitely size down!

      Delete
    3. I got the XS and it's much better. Worth a try with the promo!

      Delete
    4. Thanks. I ordered the sweater a size smaller than I usually do. Ophelia, did the sweater return to its regular size after it was washed?

      Delete
  25. Thanks so much, this was super helpful! Based on this, I think I'm going to try the 1035 trousers but also the Banana Republic suiting and see which I like better...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Erika! Definitely try out the BR suiting, but also take a look at J.Crew's Superfine Cotton suiting. I have three of the skirt/jacket sets and love them - they're perfect for the heat in GA but I think the navy would be a great summer interview suit pretty much anywhere. Size down one for the skirt and jacket, not sure if the pants are tts.

  26. I bought the ecru toothpick jeans in my b&m and they honored the online promo price plus the 30% off. I think they run big as I'm always a 29 and had to size down to a 28 and still have some gaping at the back (but couldn't have sized down anywhere else). I also LOVE the polka dot pencil but am hoping it sticks around for a markdown. I probably could have waited for the toothpicks, too, but I love the color and thought the price was good.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I found the opposite to be true of the toothpicks in ecru. They fit super snug in the hip area in my regular size. I love the color, but sizing up creates that huge gap in the back. I have a lot of older toothpicks and they fit great. Maybe it's just me! Glad they worked out for you.

      Delete
  27. I bought the Allie metallic sandals in the B&M as the stock in my size online was getting low (if I have to believe the "only a few pair left" warning) but I wanted to try them and decide if I really liked them before ordering. They fit tts, I took my regular size. They seem very comfortable and I was regretting not ordering them with the stack up promo. They look great with both pants and dresses/skirt which kind of swayed me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. DId anyone else see that shipping is only $5 now?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Stopped by my B&M - Park Meadows, CO. Sale section seems to get bigger and bigger everyday. Did notice the Barbados dress in sale section, sizes 0,2,4 and 10 for $129.99, plus the 25% or 30% off. I did try on the Origami dress in wool crepe, dark hydrangea which was $79.99 prior to discount, but think a petite would fit me better across the neck and shoulders. Came home with a Face lipstick and nail polish for $8.20.

  30. This is a little off topic, but...how does the JCrew Card Rewards program work, anyway?
How often do the rewards go out?
There doesn't seem to be much info about it on the site.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Rewards are issued quarterly. $1 = 1 point.
For every 500 points you receive $25 in rewards and the leftover carries over to the next quarter. So for example, if by the end of the quarter you have spent $1,200 you would receive a $50 rewards card and 200 points would carry over to the next quarter. Hope that helps!

      Delete
    2. The last rewards period cut off at the end of April. Cards were issued the 2nd week of May, by physical mail. I think some JCAs recvd them later. The company also sent out emails prior to the physical mailing, that incldued the rewards card number. They expire in June.

It's about 2 wks to receive the card after the cutoff date. Approximately 45 days to redeem. It's all really fuzzy and not crystal clear like the Gap family credit cards. They have the best thing going, imo.

    3. Thanks. I guess I am used to programs that add everything up every month.
