  1. Just snapped up items that I really do not need but...
    What I got:
Cashmere cascade sweater in heather caramel, Cashmere pocket poncho in heather caramel,
Skinny leather belt in autumn blaze,
Times traveller watch (after reading Alexis' post on it),
    Blouson dress in polka dot,
Silk casbah blouse (fingers crossed on this popback. third times a charm?)
    Pony skirt in navy and...
Porcupine pullover (saw a return at my local B&M and fell in love. I know, it's crazy)

  2. Chic Coastal Living: Me too!

D*ska: Congrats on your purchase!!! I think you will really like the Women's Timex watch too. :)

  3. This is great!
I'm visiting the Toronto JCrew for the first time today so I am happy to see the offer is across the board, b&m and online!

  4. There are a lot of new promo-priced items on the website today that also receive the extra 25% off. I've listed them in this post. :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. What? Coats are still marked down and you can stack with this promo!

    ReplyDelete
  6. If the pony skirt were in my size, I'd have snapped it up!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm not sure - I really like the chainlink sweater in natural(and the fact that it's 100% wool - a better alternative to the fisherman sweaters, IMO) and the ribbed glovelettes.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I thought I was done...picked up the polka dot blouson and the cashmere boyfriend cardi in bright dahlia. No more!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Loving the stacking promo for coats but the color that I want isn't on promo.

  10. Does anyone know how the Emmett Ankle boot runs in size - true to size??

Or does anyone know if J.Crew boots in general run big or small?

    Thanks! Kim

  11. is the herringbone hacking jacket still on sale in stores?

    ReplyDelete
  12. OT: For anyone who owns the Paradisa dress or even the Mirabelle dress in 'Vivid Poppy': I wanted to mention that the Acorn Fireball earrings and Acorn Fireball bracelet in 'Bright Papaya' look really cute with the dress. I know there is also a necklace, but I think it would compete too much with the embroidery. The earrings and bracelets are a nice compliment though. I own the Paradisa and picked up both the earrings and bracelet at the B&M yesterday. I'll be wearing them with the dress and my Concise Denim jacket from Anthro next spring.

  13. Pathos -- I'm SO glad you noticed that we can stack the discounts with the outerwear promotion! I ordered the Wonderland Puffer on Monday, but if I got it today I'd save an additional $44.

I just called JC customer service and they adjusted the amount for me and refunded my PayPal account while I was on the phone. Once again, excellent CS. :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Stacy - I was at my B&M last week and the herringbone jackets were on sale for $119.99.

    ReplyDelete
  15. A: You should call the B&M to see if they have the coat you want. I think that someone mentioned yesterday that all colors were on sale at the B&Ms. Maybe they're still marked down there too so that you could get it with the promo. :)

  17. Lately there have been so many 25% everything promos! Does anyone know what promos J. Crew usually has during Black Friday? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think I love the Edie purse in flame. Has anyone seen this? Does it look too briefcasey?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I wasn't planning on getting anything but saw the snowbound sweater on sale in grey (I have the navy and love it) so that was a no-brainer. I also picked up the cashmere henley in the brown/henna which looks pretty cosy. Alas, missed out on yet another chunky cashmere sweater pop-back (or are these just phantom listings that are there to try me?). If more cashmere sweaters come up that are on my list, I'll be in trouble.

  20. is the Isabel cashmere sweatshirt TTS?
and do we think there will be a better sale friday/monday??

    ReplyDelete
  21. I should just start signing my paychecks over to jcrew... Bought a hoodie, a skirt and a cashmere henley.

  22. So excited to go online this morning and see the 25% off and free shipping. I've been holding off buying matchstick jeans. Then I saw that JCrew has pj pants in Long!!! Had to get a few - you don't know how annoying it is to buy pj pants that are above your ankle and you have to let out the seams. Now I know where to go!!!
As for the Matchstick Jeans! I'm hoping for a fabulous fit with my boots.
    Thanks Aficionadas!

    ReplyDelete
  23. 40 over 20: I have the high version of the Emmett boots and while I usually am a 7.5 in J. Crew shoes, the 7s fit better.

Jackie: the style of the Isabel is a little loose/wide but true to size, I wouldn't size down in it.

    Hope this helps!

  24. Does anyone have the wool cafe trouser in graffiti green? What does the color look like IRL? I'm hoping it is a forest green and not as bright teal as it appears on my computer screen.

    ReplyDelete
  25. My order from the last 25% off promo (the majesty peacoat in fiesta purple) finally shipped today, so nothing for me this time.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tried to get price adjustment with online chat for two coats ordered on Monday. I did a reorder last night but one of the sizes was out in the color I want. No luck. Called CS on the phone and got the lecture and all, but she was nice about it and credited my account. Saved $100 on the price adjustment and getting them for almost half off. Just hope one of them fits!

  27. will there be even better deal on cyber monday? i'm heading to the nearest retail store to spot some good store deals!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Have been holding off since the beginning of the week, hoping there would be a sale promo this week. Glad I did. Placed my order on the waverly chino with flannel lining and a minimalist mockneck sweater. After I placed the order, I was thinking, would there be a black Friday sale later on in the week? Maybe will have to start browsing again. Obsession with J Crew is getting me into trouble!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I was told by 2 managers at the B&M yesterday that this promo is their Black Friday sale, so I don't really expect to see a higher % off this week.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was also surprised that this promo was so close to the last one. Love it! Thanks for sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can anyone comment on the sizing of the Cashmere Shawl Collar cardigan? Wonder if "loose fit" means I should size down, or whether sizing down will make it look disproportionate because it's supposed to be slouchier?

If that made any sense to anyone, I'd love your reviews on this item! :P

  33. I was up and at my computer when the promo kicked in so I immediately jumped on it to order an item that I had missed on during the last promo and was available and some ride alongs. Then I went to bed and had buyer's regret, so I got up again and cancelled my order. I don't need anything at this point and prefer to have a peaceful Thanksgiving (ie not upset my husband and ruin our holiday weekend with yet another order). I might go to a store on Friday though.
Happy shopping to those who are shopping and Happy Thanksgiving all!

    ReplyDelete
  34. pathos, I did a mock checkout and the discounts stack up on the outerwear purchases. Great deal if you are looking for a coat right now!

    ReplyDelete
  35. styleinthewoods, the Edie purse is too small to look like a briefcase. I have pics of it on my blog here. HTH

  36. Thank you Whitney for the cashmere advice. I took advantage of the deal to save on the cashmere LS tee for my friend's Christmas gift. The heather beet is waitlisted until December 12, I hope it ships in time. I got the fiesta purple as well, just in case the beet ends up sold out or shipping in January. She's going to love it!

  37. I think I'll have to bite this time :)

  38. Can anyone comment on sizing for the Jenna's cardigan in Wildcat? Is it TTS or would you recommend sizing down. TIA for any help! :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. To help those considering these items for the 25% off promo, I have IRL photos and a short review of the Heart Me sweater in navy/green and perfect-fit ribbon henleys on my blog post today.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I purchased a coat on Monday that is still on sale and called CS to have the price adjusted. I was told by the customer service person that they would not adjust the price--a totally different experience than Clicquot had. Boo, J. Crew!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I picked up the Yvette dress because it is showing low stock in my size. Otherwise, I think there will be MUCH deeper discounts closer to Christmas so I am holding out. I also don't really *need* anything right now.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I will posting some pics of new arrivals on my blog today - hope this helps someone with their 25% order!

    ReplyDelete
  43. J.Crew must really need the business i.e. not doing well to keep offering these promos. I don't NEED anything so going to pass but enjoy everyone else! The last two items I ordered were such a disappointment don't feel like the quality is ther anymore--at least on what I ordered.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Fabulous Florida Mommy I would recommend sizing up in the Wildcat Jenna cardigan. I have it and usually do a small in jackies and other sweaters, but I took a medium

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yay! Thanks for sharing this. I've been a stalker of your site for about a year and am now just posting. I have been eyeing the Hacking in tipped double-serge wool for over a month and think this will get me to pull the trigger!

  46. (original) Genny, JC seems to be doing what all the other retailers are doing.

I get bombarded with sales notices every single day from Gap/BR/ON, Land's End, LL Bean, Talbots. Luckily Ann Tyalor doesn't ship to Canada, so I don't have another temptation. :)

  48. FFM - I took my regular S in Jenna's wildcat cardi. And this is still w/postpartum belly. I just tried it on again to be sure. It skims my body and doesn't cling, even in this 'state.' No skinny arm syndrome in the cardi and it's actually a little loose around the wrists. I ordered mine online, so no chance anyone tried it on, I'm assuming. Don't size up.

    ReplyDelete
  49. New Arrivals reviews including Heart Me Sweater here

    ReplyDelete
  50. Rose,

I am used to Land's End having lots of promos. It is rare to get a LLBean promo. Yes, they have them for cardholders but not too often. I don't shop the other stores you mentioned but I am sure you are right. I just know J.Crew hasn't had this many promos since the economy went down hill during holiday 2008 or 2009 when they had these super great deals/low prices.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cucina49 -- I am floored that they wouldn't honour the price adjustment for you. The guy I spoke to this morning didn't even blink when I explained the situation. He even said, "Yes, I see you're within the 7 days for a price adjustment, so that's not a problem..." The refund is already back in my account. That's just crazy, it makes no sense. The "policy" is the policy, it can't waiver from person to person.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yay for another sale! I also did a review of the Heart Me sweater with photo here, and grabbed the Pony skirt in the last sale and it shipped. I'll review that when it arrives.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Fabulous Florida Mommy, I tried on the solid Jenna's cardi and found it TTS.

I called my ps today to add and and remove an item from my black Friday order and he said they were ringing them up Friday. Not sure why they're waiting unless it's b/c they told customers the sales would be rung up on Friday. It would be really nice if there was a better promo at least Friday morning.

And the #2 pencil in royal paisley is on sale in the b&m for 79.99.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ CaptainCrew: I'm glad I could help, I think that your friend will love her sweater!

@Fabulous Florida Mommy: I'm late chiming in to your question about the Jenna Wildcat Cardi, but I bought it in my normal size Medium and I wouldn't size up. I noted in an earlier review that a person could size *down* if she had a small bust and liked a very fitted look, but in general I think it's TTS.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I know this is pretty late, but I finally got around to posting a review of the Poppy King lipstick on my blog (link here). I know it's not available online but there were still quite a few in the Toronto store. It is a very good quality lipstick, definitely worth the price, and even better if you want to use it as a ride-along to get the 25% off.

I ordered the pony skirt this morning - I think it might be too big for me through the hips and may need tailoring, but it looks so nice, I had to try it out. Also picked up the flair skirt in black (I have been waiting months for that one!!). I am in the midst of putting together another large order, this time with stuff for my husband and kids. As Gigi said, "J. Crew, I can't quit chu!!"" Truer words were never spoken!!

    hip 39"
As you go up in size (until size 12), the measurements are 1" larger in each area.

For the Petite double-cloth metro coat with Thinsulate® (60224) measurements:

  57. Cucina49,

I was politely insistent this morning and they gave me a refund for the extra percent off. I would recommend just calling CS again and talking to someone else!

    ReplyDelete
  58. math teacher: Thank you! :)

Whitney: I knew I had read a review on it before! Thank you also for the advice! I fit into the small bust/likes the cardigan fitted category, so I think I might try sizing down to the XXSmall from my normal XSmall. :)

Thank you again to everyone who responded...I really appreciate it!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Unless something better pops up Friday, I won't be getting anything because I'd never meet the $150 minimum for the discount.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I recently got rid of a lot of my old sweaters I've been hanging on to so I've been using these 25% off sales to replenish the supply. I've purchased the Fair Isle Dream Crew Neck, the dream Alexie sweater, the Wynter sweater, the striped popover sweater, snowbound sweater, the Hadley sweater and the chainlink cable sweater. I haven't received any of them yet so would love opinions from you guys on quality and fit. :) I know this probably belongs on the fitting room reviews post so I can re-post there if it's better.

Also, based on Alexis' post yesterday, I bought the traveler's Timex. I've been looking for a casual watch to wear for awhile so I am really hoping this works out!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I ordered this in the salt color this morning:
    http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/outerwear/wool/PRDOVR~49612/49612.jsp

It may seem like a difficult color until you find yourself with two white Maine Coon kitties in your household. (LOL)

I was really happy with the sale and the free shipping - this coat ended up being $187 after the discounts! Love that!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Does anyone have a review of the metro coat or this year's lady day?

Also, does anyone remember what the promo was last year for Black Friday/Cyber Mon?

    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. yay.email--I have one snowbound sweater in navy and love it, so much so that I ordered the gray this morning. It is soft, fits tts, doesn't pill. The neck is slightly lower than a standard crewneck, just like in the picture. The sweater hits around the hip and is fitted but not so tight you can't wear something underneath. It's really great--I think it would have sold out faster had J Crew labeled it as a cashmere sweater.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Does anyone have any IRL pics of the Metro Coat?

Also, does anyone have any IRL pics of the vibrant flame color?

I am wondering how orangey it is IRL.

    Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Louise @ cosmetic bee - Just saw that. *lol* Yeah, that Crewlade is thick. It's strong. It's powerful. I ordered the viridian color in the double-serge wool skirt after considering it for eons now. I wear more pencil skirts in the spring than winter. Dislike tights. But loooves that colors so I'll figure it out. If it doesn't work, I'm sure I'll be vibrant flame. It looks great on On Fash.Diva.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Kendra: I ordered the Lady Day coat earlier in the year to assess the fit and colors. I tried the coat in Warm Mustard and Heather Majesty Purple. Both colors are beautiful. As always, the sleeves were on the short side. Here are the measurements for 00R and 0R with thinsulate.

    00R
    Shoulders: 15"
    Bust: 16.5"
    Sleeves: 24"
    Length: 36"

    0R
    Shoulders: 15"
    Bust: 17"
    Sleeves: 24"
    Length 37"

I also want to bring up an oldie, but a goodie. If anyone sees the Boy Shirt in Quincy Tartan, definitely consider picking it up! It is great piece that is both on trend and seasonless. Runs large. I snagged one during the last 30% promo for $29. See it styled here.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Kendra I purchased the metro in green and symphony coat in vibrant flame. Email me at dagmaral(at)gmail(dot)com and I can send u pics. I will be keeping the metro. The sleeves aren't too short. It is a bit roomy in the bust though imo but not a dealbreaker for me. I considered the red too (personally I love the colour and it is a happy coral red - I have it in the No2 skirt also) but the green just suits me best. I'm returning the symphony coat because it's just not a practical coat for me in that it is collarless leaving my neck exposed. It's more of a special occasion coat than an everyday one. Wish I could afford to keep both but I can't.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Finally had to admit the Sterling skirt and I were not meant to be. Sold out in acorn and backordered til january in dark gray.

Consoled myself with the MacAlister wedge boots in mink, matchstick cords in graffiti green, Café capri in wool check, a Wynter cowlneck sweater in acorn, and a pair of men's camp socks (love them and the men's come in such better colors.)

Ha! My word verification word is "rationist". Hardly!

    ReplyDelete
  69. And another sale. I picked up the dream striped v neck sweater, flare jeans, and black zip gloves.
I also had a pink attack, and ordered two days ago a neon azalea cashmere tee and cardi AND scarf...
So I called this morning and they gave me the discount pretty quickly...
I have been lurking for a VERY long time here, but this fall season J Crew has REALLY hit a home run with me. I have NEVER ordered so much JCrew during one season... but the pieces are just working for me...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Louise -- I feel the same way EXACTLY!! I was always a lurker and now I am a crazy orderer! (is that a word??)

p.s my word verification is "promo"!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Has anyone else noticed that they took away the discounted pricing on the lady day and metro coats?? I was in the process of deciding which one and which color to buy, but I am frustrated with this!! I will no longer be purchasing a coat during this promo.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Kendra, in case you change your mind, there is a bit of a difference in the lady and metro in terms of cut. The lady is more fitted. It's more of a ladylike, classic silhouette. The metro is roomier in the bust and waist. I'm 5'6 and purchased a 4 but I tried on a 2 and I thought it was too tight in the armpits and arms if I were to wear a thick sweater.
I'm still undecided about keeping it. I bought it in green but wonder if I should have bought it in red (I love the vibrant flame colour personally)

    ReplyDelete
  73. I thought the outerwear promo ended yesterday? Or has it been extended but only to certain coats?

    ReplyDelete
  74. sue.bee - You're right. The outerwear promo was technically over as of Tuesday. They either wanted those coats on sale for an additional time period or someone forgot to revert the prices. J Crew's prices have rubber on them. You cannot be sure they will remain the same. Even items that have gone on sale, ending in .99 have gone back up.

    ReplyDelete
  75. OT, but if anyone is cyber shopping today, Talbots is having all tees and knits at $15 with free ship and no minimum.

I recommend the Victoria ruched tee. Nice layering piece that with a bit more style than a plain tee.

    ReplyDelete
  76. SE Mom - Thanks for the info. I could use something snazzy in white.

    Just placed a YOURGIFT order.
*Factory (plastic cheapo!) resin necklace in dahlia

    * Factory pjs in red dot - blogger reviews say they're soft

    * graceful pearl necklace - will let go of my F21 workhorse

    * liquid silk skirt in sand dune

Thankfully we'll be driving tomorrow and I cannot get caught up in the online madness.

  77. Has anyone ordered the wintress puffer? If so how did u like it? How is the fit? Is it true to size ? Run big or small? I just ordered it but not sure if I ordered right size. Coats can be tricky. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. MacKenzie Anne - I left a long coat review on the latest 'reviews' thread and totally forgot to review the Wintress! I tried it on in store yesterday. For reference, I am 5'2" 123lbs. Most of my J.Crew wool coats are regular 4. Icon Trench is a 2. The Elements fit well in a petite 4. The Wintress was a little tight in the shoulders in an XS, though not bad. The S felt perfect, except that it was then definitely too long and the bottom half looked silly when I tied the coat. It was like a giant beehive skirt on me, so my guess is I would like a Petite Small if I ever ordered it. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Does anybody know if the Wonderland Puffer fits the same as the Wintress? Thank you in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thank you Erin!!! Such helpful information I'm 5'1. So I went with the petite sizing :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Erin -- I have the Wonderland Puffer in XS. As a comparison, I have the 2009 Harbor Peacoat in a 2, and I typically take a size 4 in JC blazers and a S in sweaters.

I'm not petite through the torso, back and shoulders, but I am very small-busted so that factored into my being able to take an XS. If I was bustier, I would take a S and it would be fine. But I felt the XS looked less bulky on me and I could still accommodate a regular sweater underneath.

    HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  81. so glad to see this as i missed out on ordering the neon azalea double serge pencil skirt with the last 25% off so placed an order for that as well as some of the lodge moccasins in vibrant coral.

i don't know if this will help anyone at this point but i ordered a bunch of coats and am returning most of them. i found the elements coat and the green toggle coat to be looser fits, while the stadium cloth trench was toasty and perfect (keeping that). The majesty peacoat was too roomy for me in a 0 and the lemon color was waaay too bright, probably my least favourite coat. The lexington blazers were too long for me in size 0 so i may try a petite size, they were very nice in person though.
