This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the FALL sale, or to see some new FALL/WINTER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
I really want to get the blouson dress in royal paisley. It's on sale online for $89.50 but with J. Crew's weird pricing it might be cheaper in a B&M store. Problem is, it was never available at my B&M. Anyone knows how much it is in stores? Wish JC would give a girl 30, as in 30% off, please!
ReplyDeleteProbably won't go, alhough I'm intrigued by the goldmine sweater. Way outside the norm for me
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the hacking jacket in double-serge wool in the heather bright berry color in the stores? I am needing a size 6 or 8 and have looked online, but it is sold out in both sizes. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSubscribing. :)
ReplyDeleteSub!
ReplyDeleteNo visit for me.
ReplyDeleteHas anybody ever seen the "Goat suede slouch pants" (49989) before? They're in the sale section at $500 but I don't recall ever seeing them. Strange!
Not this weekend - its my baby's 1st birthday so we are spending some QT together this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the Winsome Dress in sz. 12 in their store, could you please put it on hold and let me know?? Thanks so much in advance!!

ReplyDeletePulled the pin on a couple of items; marled crewneck sweater in marled plum #45439. The colour really hooked me and it looks great with gray pants. Also found a green shirt I was 'needing'. The randolf check in warm pine #54729. I wnat to know who creates the names of the colours ....
ReplyDeleteI wanted to wait for a promo on full pop items, but decided to go ahead in case they sell out. My PS promised to do an adjustment if they go on sale or if a promo shows up.
I'm hoping to stop by at some point, but don't know when. I've been too busy! I don't even know what I'm most interested in seeing! Looking forward to enjoy a leisurely hour (or two!) at my B&M after a long time away.
ReplyDeleteI have to give another shout out for the Vintage Stripe Henley Tee in the Abstract Blue (Royal Blue) the quality is good and the material is thick.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the tinsel tweed no. 2 pencil skirt (58261) is in stores? Has anyone tried it? It interests me, but I'm wary of high price & materials used ... TIA.
ReplyDeleteBarbarelle: Jcrewismyfavstore did a review of the skirt here http://jcrewismyfavstore.blogspot.com/2011/11/review-j-crew-no-2-pencil-skirt-in.html. HTH!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Caitlin. I think I'm going to stop by a store this afternoon and see if it's there. I really want to try it on at least. I know I will have to spend money to have it shortened, so it has to be a big hit for me to drop what they're asking. ... I've just gotten to a point where I feel like J.Crew offers the same quality skirts as other retailers, but asks twice as much, and I won't play along with that.
ReplyDeleteNot visiting a store, but will check out the website sale section. It is strange that some items are still coming up as final sale on there.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen or done a review of the stretch vintage cord trousers? (Item 28792). I like the paradise blue color, but I have no idea how they run (big, small, long, short).
ReplyDeleteIs the color really vibrant?
Caitlin: thanks SO much for linking my blog!
ReplyDeleteBarbabelle: I think that the skirt is j.crew.com/catalog only. Let me know if I can provide more details about the skirt!
Going to try to avoid shopping this weekend now that I've scored the herringbone Hacking jacket on promo and very narrowly made it out the store without buying the outrageously priced Siren dress which I love but is just too expensive to rationalize, even with a student discount. Praying to the sale gods on that one. Also praying for an extra % off now that final sale is over - I am dying for the Swish skirt in plaid!
ReplyDeletePauline,
ReplyDeleteI saw the heather berry jacket in the Rockefeller Center and 45th and Madison stores in NYC.
Beware, the jacket is VERY bright in person.
Sub!
ReplyDeleteNo plans to visit this weekend.
ReplyDeletesilver_lining, I had a funny post about goat suede here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteNope, I'm waiting it out for a promo. With all the % off and such floating around so long before Christmas, I'd feel like a fool buying anything at full price right now.
ReplyDeleteCass, thanks for the heads up! I haven't seen the jacket in person, but if it's as bright as you say it is, I might have to pass!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePauline: I own the jacket and wore it to work yesterday. It's not that bright. Multiple people commented on how great the look looked on the jacket. It's gorgeous but runs a size small.
ReplyDeleteI went this morning. I got the no. 2 pencil skirt in metallic boucle (on sale for $69.99 now and appears to be sold out online). I had been coveting this skirt for a while. It's so pretty! I sized down to a 2 from my usual 4 because the 4 was too big at the waist. The skirt is longer than my other JC pencil skirts. It has a really nice, slimming silhouette. And I think the grey color is very versatile.
ReplyDeleteI didn't find anything else interesting. But the store was running a 20% off sweaters promo.
If anyone's interested in the liquid silk skirt they had a TON of them at my B&M for $49.95 - the pink color and the navy. Providence, RI
ReplyDeleteblakemdjohns: I recently bought the stretch vintage trouser cords. I would say that they run slightly large. I'm typically a 0 in JCrew pants, and that is what I took. They fit, but there is definitely a little room in them (vs. the toile cafe capris I just got in size 0 that are a tad snug). I would order your normal size, or a size down.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm 5'3" and I ordered the regular length. I attempted these last year with the petite length. Not only did I not like the color IRL last year, but the petite length was too short for me. I will say, for my height, I think I do have longer legs. The regular length is a tad long for me, like on 1/2 inch to 1 inch, so I'm going to have them hemmed. Additional cost, but worth it since I'm pretty confident that the petite length would have been too short for me.
I got the black, so can't help on the actual color of the blue.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info, CCS.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to try them in the blue color.
I snagged the icon trench today in 2, but it was the *last one*. I was in too much of a rush to check out before it disappeared from my cart that I didn't add anything else.
mommydearest - The goldmine is pretty, but saggy on the hangers. Snag issues at the b&ms if I recall correctly. It might be best to get one from the warehouse.
ReplyDeleteMaryMoo - Happy bday to the l.o. !!!
blakemdjohns - Zealous Blonde did a review of the cords on her blog. I believe the paradise blue. I can't recall what her blogger handle is that we see on JCA.
No J'crewsing for me. Will be in prayer with Dara for 30% off. lol There's one thing I want. I'm very happy not many things appeal right now...esp after getting two tipped hacking jackets on promo. Still trying to convince myself to return one of them.
@D*ska: I haven't checked my B&M this week, but I tried on that paisley blouson dress last week when it was still full price. Have you had a chance to try it on (or the similar polka dotted blouson)? The unadjustable straps was the deciding factor for me. I do love the print though.
ReplyDeletePics/reviews of some new j.crew tops in this post.
ReplyDeleteduh -- encore trench...last one...here's hoping it ships.
ReplyDelete@ D*ska -- The paisley blouson dress was $89.50 in the store when I went on Wednesday night. It was full price last week. HTH!
ReplyDeleteblakemdjohns -- with the caveat that my stretch vintage trouser cords are from 2 or 3 years ago, I totally agree with CCS. I usually size up to a 4p but the 2p fit for these. However, the petite length is on the short side (5'3") so I cannot wear them with anything but flats.
ReplyDeleteI tried the new Jules dress. Thumbs down!!!! There's a horizontal seam on the last 1/4 of the dress and it very obvious with the print (depending on your height the seam can hit some unflattering places) also it has pockets but that seam is too weird for me. The fabric has a good weight but even on sale I would pass.
ReplyDeleteI went last night. Love that there's now a store in Arkansas so I can go regularly! Based on the reviews here, I got a purple and black stripe waffle thermal. And, I'm in love. I now want more-it's thick, soft, and warm.
ReplyDeleteI also got, on a whim, the MacAlister boots. The SA kept talking about how comfy they are. And, she was semi-right. Because they only come in whole sizes, I had to get a 7 versus an 8. They are a bit tight, so I hope they stretch. I wouldn't walk for miles in them, but they'll be fine day-to-day. They are super cute.
They had Super 120s trousers on sale for 59.99 and I got some purple tights. A good trip all-in-all.
Does anyone have the black short miller motorcycle boots in a 6.5 in their store? I'll probably do an associate order tomorrow, but it would be nice to not have to search alllll the stored first.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Does anyone have experience with the CeCe ballet shoes? I'm wondering if the suede ones last long...do they stretch out a size larger after a week of wearing, do they show scuff marks and dirt to easily, etc. For $138 I want shoes that will last for several seasons, not just a couple weeks...I'm in love with the new lemon color but I wish it was in leather. I can't imagine I'd get any wear time out of them before they looked horrible.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for any advice!
@ Rosie, Thanks so much. I feel better ordering now. It's been sitting in my cart since the sale started.
ReplyDelete@ sue.bee, I think it should be fine as long as it fits like the stripe blouson which I already own. I have my sights on the polka dot one, just waiting for it to hit the sale racks! Thanks for the heads up though.
Kid Sis - Audreybella has the Ceces in suede. You might ask her how the wear has been. One of the Cece posts is here.
ReplyDelete@ Kid Sis
ReplyDeleteI own one in the bright flame & the tortoise. I have unusually wide feet, so as usual with j.crew flats, it took quite a while for the shoes to stretch out for me (I got some blisters in my heel and it left some marks from the elastic grip). However, I wouldn't worry if you have normal width feet...and honestly, even if you do have wide feet, I'd be willing to go through that pain again. The flats are so easy to wear, and I love the color!
I do have one scuff mark on mine (I bought them this last summer), but it's not really noticeable as it's on the side of the shoe. I'm also surprised it's not even more scuffed up considering how much I've worn them!
Gigi and Chasing, thank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, the Fall Sale does not seem to exist north of the border. Went to Yorkdale yesterday and everything was still full price in spite of being marked down online. And there is till no sale section in the store. It's cheaper to order online even with the shipping cost. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteAre the stores running a 20% off sweater promotion? TIA :>

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when the Holiday catalog comes out?
ReplyDeleteThank you!

ReplyDelete@ Pathos, I was at my B&M last night and sweaters were in fact 20% off. And it appeared that this applies to sale sweaters as well - there was a "20% off" sign just above the specific area where they were, in addition to the regular "sale" sign. HTH!
ReplyDeleteDon't know if anyone is still looking for the Poppy King lipstick, but the Northlake store in Charlotte, NC had a bunch of them. Must've gotten in a fresh shipment!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for help finding the Cafe Capris in Houndstooth in my size, size 0. I didn't know they went on sale and now missed them online. :( If anyone sees a pair at your store, please, please put them on hold and I will do a charge send. Thank you so much!! KT
ReplyDeleteJ Crew in the Galleria in Houston had a HUGE sale section. No 30% off but all sweaters were 20% off, including sale. Made a ton of returns and the experience was so pleasant (yay nice SAs!) that I decided to stay and bought 3 sweaters.
ReplyDeleteYes sweaters are all additional 20% off in stores including sale, sale is not final. Got a hacking herringbone jacket in charcoal still on promo $125 and stripe hadley sweater for $39, very happy today :))
ReplyDeleteI got some cool stuff, sticking with the royal purple paisley items, majesty peacoat. I also got a pair of biella high-heel loafers for $59.99. Here are real life pics:
ReplyDeleteandbagaficionado.blogspot.com/2011/11/jcrew-royalty-and-purple-rain-majesty.html
Does anyone know if the Biella's are marked to 59.99 in all stores or just the that Tammy visited? I'd love to have a pair, but they are still 179 (or so) online.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I bet it's in store sale. You should call the location and check. If not, I got mine at Pacific Place in Seattle and they had a section of them in different sizes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy! I'll give them a call tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWent up to NH this weekend and the Rockingham mall store in Salem NH had the silk Scoopneck Blouse in Wreath that's back ordered online until Feb in all sizes. Hope this helps someone who might be looking! (I was super excited!)
ReplyDeleteOT, can anyone help me with the name of this necklace? I can't for the life of me remember it:

TIA!!
both the columbus circle and 17th/5th street stores were picked over and had terrible selections...bummer!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the Encore Trench was made above a size 10? I am usually a 12 in JCrew things-with-arms. I saw on Net A Porter that the sizing ran large. Can anyone verify this?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up, Gigi. I didn't make it to the store - probably just as well.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I don't know whether the Encore came in a 12 but I don't agree that it runs large. I think it's a bit small through the chest. You can search the blog to find several others' reviews.
