"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who shared the following news: J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend.
They are also offering up to 60% off on select factory items in stores between November 24th through November 27th. (Prices automatically adjusted). Customers can also take an additional 40% off clearance items during this time (at Factory Stores).
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory Fall offerings? Will you check them out?
Any comments on the Factory Open Cardigan #53199? Looks like version of last year's "something" of which I can't remember the name.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I feel about the quality of factory items but these discounts are sure worth checking out. Love this blog! Thanks and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSome of the factory items are very good quality but I agree, rolala, I like to see them in person first.
ReplyDeleteHi-It looks like some in store promos on now-but I don't know their duration. 20% off select sweaters, a scarf promo-I think 25% off, but I can't remember, and the 30% off sale items is "final sale". Hope this helps someone.
ReplyDeleteThe sales keep getting better and better. I can't recall so many discounts coming at us right before the holidays!
ReplyDeleteOT, I posted about a new silk skirt here that just popped up. Apparently J.Crew is now starting to tempt us with early spring offerings too.
OT: Free Shipping on retail Blazers, Vests, and Outerwear online right now. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love. I'm on a very strict budget this year, and this will help to pick up cute pieces for all of my nieces. Works for me.

ReplyDeleteDid anyone try Factory Caden wedges?
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteThis is Carolyn from Vancouver.
Can anyone comment on the quality of the factory dreamy turtleneck vs the one offered at the B&M ?
Has anyone tried on the fleece blazer(factory)? It looks casual but interesting.
The only items I can comment on are the checked tunic for 24.99 (factory) Its basic but I wore it with skinny pants this fall just for running to the grocery store etc. Its comfortable and yet not frumpy. I also have the star fish pave like necklace (factory) its cute and for 24.99 its fine.
My two factory cardis I am finding are only fair by quality standards...are the b&m store cardis that much better ? I have turtenecks, belts, purse, shoes and jeans all on my list.
I guess my question here is should I shun the factory and go straight to the b&m on my upcoming trip to Seattle. Thanks in advance for all the help. Carolyn
Looks like factory online will be open all week :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, I'm also from Van, I think it depends on what you're shopping for.
ReplyDeleteI would say overall, the Retail stores have higher quality construction, fabrics/knits, etc. So for jewelry and sweaters, Retail is better (e.g. the retail Jackie has a bit of stretch to retain shape, while the Factory Jackie is all cotton so goes all baggy after a day's wear).
The Factory is good for tees and more casual (like fleece etc) items. The denim feels good as well. The Factory shoes, however, are icky, lots of man-made materials, I'd stay away from them (unless you're buying them to wear in the rain and trash them). Sometimes they'll change up the quality game, such as lining the Tartan pants, when so many of the Retail pants are unlined.
I would hit up the Retail stores to try on items for fit/sizing, and stay tuned on this blog for reviews and comments. Happy shopping!
Hi Carolyn! I would go to Seattle first, and maybe just check the factory store on the way back home, time permitting. :)
ReplyDeleteOT, but I got a "Welcome to the J.Crew Credit Card" e-mail yesterday even though I've already had their credit card for over 8 years now... strange!
ReplyDeleteI went to the Crewlet for the first time in a few years and didn't see anything I wanted.
ReplyDeleteIn general, the merchandise quality seemed poor, or else my standards have gotten higher. Give me sale retail J Crew over the outlet any day.... I had expected better since my experiences with the online Factory Store have been good. Maybe it's the chaotic atmosphere of the outlets that makes me not feel like shopping?
The one thing I saw to note that was not on the website is that there's a factory version of the Origami dress. I saw it in black and heather elm.
I've always liked the factory stuff. They make really cute graphic tees.
ReplyDelete@ Fabulous Florida Mommy: As soon as I saw your note about free shipping on blazers, etc., I jumped over to J.Crew thinking, "Hmm, maybe I'll go ahead and buy the Blackwatch Schoolboy that's been sitting in my cart...". SOLD OUT. Booo! I know better than to wait around on things that I really like since they always disappear so fast, but I'm trying to take this as the universe telling me that I don't need another blazer. I'm sure they'll probably re-stock before Christmas anyway ;)
ReplyDeleteWhitney: I think they'll restock the Blackwatch blazer again, too. You could also ask for a WWFIFY search if you do want to get one now. I'm sure there are still some available in stores. :)
