Additional Sale in J.Crew Stores {yey!}

I went to another J.Crew (in Farmington, CT) yesterday and they were having an "additional 25% off sale items" sale. Unfortunately, the 25% sale was a bit more limited. It applied to all Men's Sales Items, but just Women's Shoes & Accessories. Also, Nicole Ryba commented (in the "Is Bigger Better? J.Crew Bracelets" post) that her local J.Crew (in Rockaway Townsquare Mall, NJ) was having an "additional 50% off sale items" sale.

I did purchase something (I couldn't walk away from the store empty handed!): J.Crew's Jelly Ballet Flats (Item 91531), in red for less than $20 (using the 25% off, plus the educator's discount of 15%). Not bad considering I bought the same style shoe in black a month ago for the full original price of $45, (and it's on sale on-line for $29.99.)

So, chances are that the J.Crew near you is having a similar sale. I just wanted to share {again} the following with you all in case you were thinking about stopping at a J.Crew this weekend...

  1. I got the lattice print trouser mini in soft azalea for $20 this weekend. It had disappeared from the website so I called J Crew. They told me there were no more left. I figured the store might put them on sale. Went to the store, and it was 50% off!

  2. How does the 15% educator discount work? My husband is a professor but we don't live anywhere near a JCrew *sniff* and have to shop online. I miss living in NYC where there were JCrews littering every corner.

  3. You have to shop in a store to get the educator's discount...and show some sort of proof that you are an educator...you can order on the red phone from the store too and the JCrew employee will tell the person on the phone that they have verified your "Proof".

  5. Hi Alexis - Great site! It seems that the % off sale items really varies store to store. I frequent several J. Crews in San Francisco and LA, and the only store that has the 50% off sale items is the one with the lowest traffic.

  6. Hi Bel! I have noticed that the in-store sales vary in % off too! But I didn't realize it was based on traffic. Which makes sense now that I think about it. :)

  7. i think you should do a post about J. crew window displays. i live in california and it doesnt seem like they even try to put up a nice display, which is a shame because it doesnt do their clothes any justice

  8. Can you get the educator discount or the student discount on sale items, or is only on full price merchandise?

  9. Hi Jennifer!

    You should be able to get both discounts (educators and students) for any item (sale and regular price). I have already taken advantage of both discounts for sale priced items. Good luck! :)

  10. I should mention that you can't use both discounts (educators and students) at the same time. Just one or the other.

  11. For those spared the tedium of The Princess going ga-ga over J. Crew’s announced plans to open a men’s-only store and word that the old Liquor Store bar was going to be its home, well, we’ll only say this is a somewhat legendary locale!

    Cheers,
    Mar
