A big "thank you!" to FabulousFloridaMommy who let us know in the "Quick Note" post that J.Crew is offering 15% off any men's purchase in their stores. This offer expires 6/15/08.
To access the full link, which you will need to print out and bring to the stores (so the sales associates can scan the barcode for the discount), click here.
Again, thanks FabulousFloridaMommy!
Hey Alexis...I think that with this coupon, even if you just buy 1 men's item, that you should be able to get the 15% off your ENTIRE purchase at the register (including women's items)...what do you think?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about that very same thing FabulousFloridaMommy- whether or not you could get the entire order with 15% off.
ReplyDeleteHowever I wasn't sure. I know that the sales associates make sure I don't use my educators/student discount for "final sale" items. So I don't know if they would make sure that only the men's items would get the 15% off. Because 15% off stores sale prices (which may have the 20-25% off in addition sale) would be fantastic in terms of savings! :)
i also wonder if you could combine this with a student/educator discount. does anyone know if jcrew stores will let you stack discounts?
ReplyDeleteimagine if it were a special 25% additional off sale day, plus 15% for dad and 10-15% for education discount! WOW!
:)
I was told by an associate at JCrew once that I could only use one coupon at a time. For example, you cannot use both the student and educators discount at the same time (even though I actually apply to both scenarios). So I don't think you can use Dad's 15% off coupon and the educator's discount at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHowever, you can definitely use one of those coupons with the current sale that is going on in stores.
But maybe J.Crew's policy on stacking coupons in-stores have changed. You never know! :) They use to not honor on-line prices in stores, and now they do.
Does anyone know if Madewell has an educator's discount?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous at 11:55 AM! I don't even know if Madewell's has a student discount to be honest! But that is a great question- if they have either a student/ educator's discount! Hopefully someone else can let us both know. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never received a coupon from them either, just emails reminding me about store/catalog sales.
I have a feeling that they will start to, once their online commerce website is fully running.
Alexis, I just called Madewell and they have a 15% student discount but no educator's discount.
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me about the student discount?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 12:10PM: Thanks for finding out about the educator & student discounts. That is great to know! :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 12:21PM: If you are a current student and have a valid student ID, you can go to J.Crew (or Madewell) and get a discount on all items including sale items, (but not "final sale" items- with a red line through the tag so you can't return the item). J.Crew gives a 10% discount and apparently Madewell's gives a 15% (better) discount!
So the accessories I bought in-store last night...I was told I couldn't return them because they were on sale. But they weren't even final sale.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else experience the same thing or is this just that individual store's policy?
The week before when I bought accessories they didn't mention anything about not being able to return them, so I find it kinda odd.
Sue.Bee: I think what they told you was incorrect. You should totally be able to return the item, accessory or not, if it is not a "final sale" item.
ReplyDeleteI am sure if you went to another J.Crew in the area and returned the item, you would be fine to do so.
Maybe that store associate was new or unfamiliar with the store policy.
Thanks, Alexis!
ReplyDeleteI'm still debating about the belt I bought, so if I decide to return it I'll go to a different store :o) It's an even further drive, but maybe those employees will be nicer.
Sue.Bee: I have a feeling if you went to the same store (you purchased the belt from) and returned the belt, you would be able to. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is true... but isn't it more fun to check out another store? :o) heehee.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should dedicate a new post to all the crazy things JCrew fans do...compiled from all our comments!
Sue.Bee: You got me there-- It is completely more fun to go to another store and check out their offerings!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I use to think what I did for J.Crew was crazy (e.g. my waking up in the morning every day to check sales, the item number searches, etc). But after reading how many of us do the same exact things, are we all really crazy? ;) I like to think we are savvy! :)
Hey Alexis! I would love a posting about favorite J.Crew outfits... maybe one for casual and one for work. I'm always looking for new ways to mix and match J.Crew.
ReplyDeleteI know one of my all-time-favorite work outfits is just about any pair of their suiting pants paired with a tank and Jackie cardigan. It's flattering and sophisticated!
Lynn: Great suggestion! I will definitely incorporate it.
ReplyDeleteI was also thinking about doing another suggestion which is very similar to yours: taking an outfit or two from the catalog and having people comment on whether they like it or not, and how would swap out pieces with others.
But I your suggestion of two outfits: one work one casual is great! :)
Or maybe start an area -- either on the blog or a Flickr group -- where people can upload real outfits with J.Crew clothes.
ReplyDeleteSometimes seeing an item on a real person might make all the difference in purchasing, or inspire you to buy something you wouldn't have thought about.
Plus it would just be fun to see how other people mix + match J.Crew!
Pixel Girl- someone else mentioned posting images of people wearing the clothes too. I thought it was a great idea then and I think it is a great idea now!
ReplyDeleteI think the idea about using Flickr is great- it would releave me the troubles of uploading images to the blog. I will definitely look into this. Thanks a bunch!!! :)
Hi Alexis...I went to my J.Crew store today and was able to use my 15% coupon on my ENTIRE purchase...YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI got to thinking about the Final Sale on in store purchases, as I heard the employee at the store tell one of the other customers that now the "sale" items are Final Sale, and I'm thinking maybe this is why...I'm sure that J.Crew got too many complaints about the online FINAL SALE items not fitting correctly or being misrepresented by the pictures, and customers were extremely unhappy not to be able to return them (though I returned several Final Sale items due to misrepresentaion and fit issues)...now when a customer buys a sale item in the store they are able to touch, feel, see, try on, etc., prior to purchase, unlike buying online. Seems like J.Crew only got rid of the Final Sale online to move it into the stores.
FabulousFloridaMommy: That is awesome that the discount worked for the entire order!
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad the stores are starting to carry "final sale" items. I hope that won't be the new trend. Thanks for the "heads up" about that situation though- I will definitely be keeping an eye on my local stores to see if they are doing the same (which I hope they don't!) :)
I have actually heard that you can't combine your discounts at J Crew. However I have only ever once been stopped. And now that I am out of grad school but I now work in a school as a fundraiser I get my educator's discount! And I used it last weekend to get a cute 1/2 sleeve argyle tee (in lime green) combined with the 25% off sale it was only 19.92. So ladies (and gentlemen) ALWAYS ask. You never know what discounts you might get.
