Yes, it is that wonderful time again!
J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code 21FS8301. This offer expires 6/26/08.
Hopefully the "final sale" will end soon while another "additional 20% off" sale begins, so I can then take full advantage of this free shipping offer! ;)
I just saw the katie sweater in geranium I've been hoping would pop up these days...and plopped 40 plus shipping!I'm glad I tried it on in stores a while ago since it is final sale. But jcrew sure does have its ways with me...
ReplyDeleteI love your blog by the way, it's becoming as much of a daily fixation as visiting the jcrew sales page!
Hi Anonymous at 10:17 AM! Thanks for the nice comment. The visitors of this site (& their comments) is what really makes this blog great! :)
ReplyDeleteI have the Katie Sweater Jacket in Navy and really like it. (I also think the geranium is a beautiful color in person!) The only drawback to the sweater is that it's buttons & snaps are really difficult to use!
I know what you mean about the final sale- you want to resist shopping but you just can't! ;)
Hi, I just found this site this weekend and I love it. Am a J.Crew fan (I have three of the wool Bella jackets from last fall, that's how much i loved the Paris campaign). I also have the Katie sweater in navy, I wear it over an azalea-colored top, because I adore those colours together.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the final sale - I hardly ever buy anything from it, because I resent not being able to return it if it doesn't fit. It's j.crew's loss, too - I'd try a bunch of stuff if I knew I had the option to return it (but probably would keep it) - instead, they get no business at all from me right now.
Hi! I have been eyeing up the Stella-print sundress for some time now. I wanted to know if anyone else own's it and how they feel about it. I'm not sure whether or not i should get a small or medium or if it simply is worth the cost ($99.99 as of now final sale!). Thanks soo much! And i also love the blog! It's nice to know other people out there have the same love for J.Crew as i do :)
ReplyDeleteLa Belle Helene: I own a couple of the wool Bella Jackets as well! They are beautiful and cut nicely.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand the hesitation to purchase anything during this final sale. Like others have mentioned, I typically don't return items to begin with, but removing the option to return scares me off from purchasing the product altogether.
Lisaa320: This is just my opinion, but the Stella-print sundress isn't worth right now the $99 "final sale" price tag. I think this is one of those dresses that you need to try on and see if you want to keep it or not. When this whole "final sale" business is over, then I would consider getting it. However, again this is only my opinion. :)
Along the lines of what lisa asked, does anyone own the silk taffeta ballerina dress? I've been eyeing it since last November (man, did i love the "Highlands" catalogue), but since it's not available in stores, I've never tried one on. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it - love it, hate it? Nice, but not quite worth it's current $140 sale price? Thanks in advance for any replies :-)
ReplyDeleteA random question on J.Crew return policy -- does anyone know if there is a time limit to returning unworn items with receipt, with tags still on?
ReplyDeleteI have a jacket that I bought about a year ago, and I've still never worn it. It's in perfect condition with tags + receipt.
I feel crazy to even ask, but do you think they'd let me return this item? Or is that pushing their generosity too far?
Thanks!
Ugh...$150 minimum??? This is the BEST they can do ON TOP of a FINAL SALE???? Reality is, that as much as I find the Final Sale ridiculous, I would have ACTUALLY bought a few items (that I already have tried on and would like to have or have already and know how they fit) from this one IF I had a FREE SHIPPING code...there have been a couple of $19.99 and even a $14.99 item I would like to have gotten, but they were available on different days, so I didn't purchase anything. The money would add up for J.Crew in the end, but instead they get none.
ReplyDeletela belle helene: the Silk taffeta ballerina dress is absolutely beautiful!!! I LOVE silk taffetta and own the Suzannah cami in all 4 colors...I love it THAT MUCH! Anyways...what if you buy one at regular price that you can return just to see if it fits, and then buy the one on sale if it fits right and you still like it? I know it sounds like alot of hassle, but in reality...if you ordered it today, you would have it by Wednesday or Thursday and then could decide on purchasing the one that is on sale if you lke how it fits...just a thought. :)
to pixel girl: Here is their return policy:
ReplyDeleteWithin 60 days of original purchase: J.Crew gladly accepts returns of unworn, unwashed or defective merchandise for a full refund. Items must be returned in the same condition they were sold in and must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. If the original receipt is unavailable, we'll make an exchange or issue a merchandise credit based on the current selling price.
After 60 days of original purchase: J.Crew will gladly make an exchange or issue a merchandise credit for the price at the time of sale (with original receipt) or for the current selling price (without original receipt.)
so it looks like you would get a merch credit for your item if you were to return it. (which is better than having an item in your closet you don't wear!!:)
Final Sale: I got the City suede ballet flats in black for $69.99 plus 25% off at a J Crew that just opened nearby a few months ago. I usually go to another one, but I just happened to be near this one since I needed to return something. This is actually the first time I've purchased their shoes. I was so happy about the price, but especially since I got to try them on!
ReplyDeleteAnon at 10:17 AM: I know exactly what you are talking about. This blog has become a daily fixation for me as well! I have the Katie sweater jacket in the ivory/black stripe (thanks to this blog) and love it as well.
ReplyDeletepixel_girl: Sometimes I will go through my closet and return an item that I have never worn and is still NWT (I always keep my receipts). J Crew is always gracious about accepting the returns and issues a merchandise credit for the item. I LOVE J Crew for doing this as I occasionally tend to make those "spontaneous purchases" that I later regret. :)

Does anyone have the Luxe Stretch Cotton Twill Dress? It looks absolutely fabulous. I have been waiting for it to go on sale and for J Crew to get it back in my size!

Hello!
ReplyDeleteJust to let everybody know, it is now an extra 25% off of final sale items on the website. Happy Shopping :-)
any guesses on when J.crew would end their final sale and/or add additional 20% discount? I've been eyeing on capri jeans and overdyed jeans (both are $49.99 I think) but am pretty sure they will reduce the price eventually.
ReplyDeleteI was in my store yesterday and one of the employees me told me that their fiscal year starts in February. At the end of the month every 3 months, they mark stuff down and have a big sale. I don't know if this pertains to online also.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the store manager yesterday went way above and beyond in helping me locate a pair of crewcuts shorts. I had ordered twice and received the wrong shorts each time. So, she called individual stores to make sure that I was going to get the right pair and then gave the me $16 sale price and no shipping! I left there a very happy shopper!
I just used free shipping code for my order! Thank you for the information. =)
ReplyDeletethere's an additional 25% off on jcrew! yay
ReplyDeleteadditional 25% off + free shipping = SWEET!
ReplyDelete25% OFF FINAL SALE!!
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletejcrewjunkie :)
la belle helene, I got the silk taffeta ballerina dress a while back. I liked it, the only thing is that I thought it was a little too big. I had to get it taken in. With hindsight, I should have ordered a size down.
ReplyDeleteAdditional 25% of final sale and free shipping - yay got Lana top!!!
ReplyDeleteMade up rest of the amount with crew cuts purchases for kids!!!
I hope everybody can get somethings !!!!

Those City-fit surplus chino's, item 74008, have been around a couple of years now, right? The item # seems old. Has anyone tried them? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a pair of Favorite Fit Everyday Chinos, item 81391, earlier this year. They fit fine but when I ordered a pair recently, the mat'l & the fit don't seem to be the same. I'm returning them. Has anyone else experienced a bad fit in the legs with these pants?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the free shipping code! I am not a fan of the final sale, but I broke down and got a few things that looked cute. By the way- your blog rocks! I have it bookmarked
ReplyDeleteif i ordered things on saturday morning and they havent shipped yet, (mon morning)am I entitled to getting the additional 25% off that's now going on? I know it says it's not available on previously purchased items, but they haven't shipped yet. How do I go about this wiht customer service?
ReplyDeletehannahe: Thank you for the contest link: JCrew Coconut Straw Bag ...I'll have to make sure to enter that one everyday, too! :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 7:03am: Call J.Crew and select option 2 to get through to customer service (have your order number handy). Tell the rep that you made several purchases on Saturday, but now they are an extra 25% off, and you would like to know if you can please get the extra 25% off on the the items in your order. I have never had a problem, as they are usually pretty accomodating on things like this. :) Good luck!!!
ReplyDeletela belle helene and olga: I'm not sure if the fit on the Suzannah cami
ReplyDeleteand the Silk taffeta ballerina dress are the same, but I agree with Olga in that I would size down. I normally wear a 4 in sleeveless tops and a 6 in tops with sleeves (I have slightly broader shoulders, so I have to size up to fit them), and I wear a size 2 in the Suzannah Cami. I think it all depends on your bust size, though. If you are smaller in the chest, then definitely size down, but you can also call Customer Service to get specific measurements on the dress, and not the generic size chart ones. Hope this helps! The dress is so pretty!
FabulousFloridamommy and Olga: thanks so much for the advice. I wish they had the dress in stores - I like it so much better when I can try stuff on, because you never know with sizes. And some cuts just look better on some people than others...anyway, thanks again, and let me just restate how happy I am to have found this blog :-)
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about the extra 25% off also being in stores is that stores, I believe, don't have the "no returns" policy - at least not that I've ever experienced. Of course, they also don't have the same selection.
ReplyDeleteAlexis: you mentioned in another reply you also have some of the wool bella jackets- which colors do you have? I first bought it in heather azalea (a color I love) and then also in heather graphite and black. It's a fabulous jacket.
ST: Great deal on the flats- congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteHannahe: Thanks for the heads up on that sweepstakes. I already made it into a post. Thanks again! :)
A & to all those who let us know about the extra 25% off sale: THANKS!!! ;) It makes the "final sale" items much more attractive. :)
JCrewfanatic: I think the final sale will last another week. But that is just a guess on my part. My hope is that it will end today! ;)
Math Teacher: Thanks for letting us know about when the stores will most likely have sales. :) Also, it sounds like that J.Crew employee really did a great job helping you out. I love hearing those kinds of stories. :)
Jessica: Thanks for the nice comment! :)
Anonymous at 7:03AM: I called this morning because I faced the same situation you did. I purchased something on Saturday, which hadn't shipped yet. I just called today to get a price adjustment (due to the 25% off sale today.) The customer service rep told me that they are only doing price adjustments now for REGULAR priced items that change price within 7 days. This is completely new to me. (On a bright note, the cust rep did give me the price adjustment as a one time offer).
La Bell Helene: The bella jackets are great! I own the Wool herringbone Bella jacket in the coral color. I own the Double-faced wool Bella coat (in black) as well.
called customer service and rec'd the additional 25% off my order- which will come to almost $30! the order already charged to my card, though, so it will show up as a credit. fine by me:) and she didnt say it was a one time thing either:)gotta love good customer service!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 2:36 PM: That is great that you were able to receive the additional discount.
ReplyDeleteI also think it is great that the cust rep didn't say it was a "one time" deal. I am hoping that J.Crew will still honor price adjustments on sale items. ;)

ReplyDeleteI too was credited the difference for a top from JCrew that I ordered at SALE price & then went 25% off. No mention of one-time only either - I have the email from Cust. Service.
ReplyDeleteNow, on the other hand, the Gap would NOT credit me on a price change on a full price item WITHIN the window they state in their policy because I had used a 10% off coupon!! I could have saved $20! I think that stinks! I used a free shipping coupon with JCrew & they honored my price adjustment. Boo Gap, yeah JCrew.
