ReplyDeleteThe Wallace and Barnes Union pant item A9479 is a steal with the current promo coming in around $20 and down from $98. I picked up the dark slate and the navy. The navy is a slightly softer navy blue while the slate reads almost grey with some green undertones. Fit is right between a Bowery slim and Ludlow slim. They come cuffed so grab them in the right in-seam. Like the Ludlows and Bowery slims they should be worn without a break showing a slight bit of ankle.

DeleteOT, but what does everyone think about all the unsold Sophia Webster shoes? The last batch sold out without being marked down. Wonder why this season's are lingering?
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing, too! Maybe they just need to scale down on the amount of styles they produce. Instead of eight, for example, have only four to five different designs of Webster's shoes.

ReplyDeleteThe cardigan doesn't have the front pockets like my retail version, but still a great deal with extra 40% discount. The skimmer pants are lined and fit TTS. Again, can't beat the extra discount price.
I actually prefer the factory version with no pockets -- I think it's sleeker. Also, my factory versions have held up much better than the retail versions. Great deal!
DeleteTried the new retro floral popover - great colour, beautiful art nouveau pattern. But it's POLY. It started to feel overly warm on even after only a couple of minutes in the changeroom - started to get that claustrophobic 'get it off!' feeling. Had some issues with the cut as it is not designed to accommodate a bust well (no darts, surprise), so bear that in mind too. The sleeves were not tight and overall the body flowed well. But a disappointment for me at least.

ReplyDeleteI ordered the wool melton hooded bib jacket (b4906) in deep riviera and I love it. The color is beautiful and the wool is quite soft. The description says it has a boxy fit, but I don't find that to be the case at all. I was worried that the body length would be too short for a winter coat, but that isn't a problem either. I ordered one size down from my usual J.Crew coat size. This will be one of my few J.Crew favorites for 2014.

ReplyDeleteI purchased the Patch Pocket Cocoon Coat in Camel and I LOVE it! The coral color popped back in my size, so I ordered that one too. It definitely runs big. I'm typically a size 4 in J.Crew clothing, but I always size up in outerwear -- either a 6 or 8. I ordered my normal size 4 in this and it was perfect with room for heavy sweaters. The 6 was swimming on me.

I recently bought the collection silk pants in jersey stripe and they are lovely but do seem to run large. I normally am a size 4 and could have gone down to a 2. They are also super long and will need to be hemmed.

I was also lucky enough to score the Wool Bonded Donegal dress and the Mongolian Fur scarf which are both as perfect as I had expected them to be. If you find one, either one, I highly recommend them both.
