Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING/SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I really like the merino tatted lace sweater for $40 at the B&M. The only problem is that it fits pretty tight, and it says dry clean only (I would hate to ruin the lace by washing it).

  2. Didn't venture to my B&M but did manage to finally use my Madewell $25 gift card (from the catalogue)on the prettiest pair of lace undies and matching brassiere...Who knew? Madewell

    1. Tabitha - I have been eyeing that slicker! How was the sizing - esp. shoulder/arm area. Thanks!

    2. Hi Suzy,

Oh it's my first J Crew coat so I have nothing to compare too, I wasn't sure of my American size but I now know I'm a 4 in coats/jackets - I'll be posting on it on Monday on my blog, it's fab!

    3. Oh I was a 4 in the Encore trench too, so don't know if that helps. I think it's like a normal US size 4.

  4. I went on Saturday to try on the cafe capris in the foulard print. I ended up ordering them online b/c my store didn't have my size. They run large if anyone is considering them. I usually need a 4 in the cafe capri and ordered a 2 and a 0 to try in these. The 4 was enormous.

  5. Stopped by the Lenox Square B&M to return a pair of shorts that I had bought online (Sailor Short in black...just didn't like the length on me). The store looked great - all of the Spring rollout items were on the floor, and the sale stuff was essentially what you see offered online. The jewelry looked especially pretty, so many nice colors this season. I ended up buying the Colorblocked Maritime Dress in navy/orange. This must be an in-store only item since I've seen others review it but it hasn't popped up online.

  6. I didn't go because my PS emailed me on Friday that they will have a new collection coming in on Tuesday so I will go tomorrow and will have a preview for you in couple of days. This is a concept store so this is a summer collection that will be in other stores next month.
Instead, I went to Madewell and I was impressed with their collection I posted about it HERE , some very interesting finds, I was surprised how much I liked it.

  8. I did not, but I did finally receive my catalog and to be honest, not much was doing it for me. I tore out and saved 2 pages so I can remember to get a couple of things when the next promo hits.

The Bright Eyelet Tank is soooooo cute, and I love the Belvedere red color! If it goes down enough, I may get the Summer Hyacinth as well.

I also broke my promise to myself in that I'm buying another swimsuit this year. I absolutely must have the Feather Paisley ruched lido halter top and matching bikini bottom .... and the cotton tunic in the same print. I don't know why, but I'm drawn to the whole ensemble, maybe because the tunic is cotton and not silk, so I'm more likely to wear it to the beach/pool?

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed a promo so these things can be mine!

Side note: I was finally able to snag the long-sleeved Wildcat blouse this weekend on eBay. FINALLY. Not happy with what I paid for it, but now I can quit stalking it, lol.

  9. I went to the factory, because there is no real J.Crew for miles... they have some cute things, but left wondering why there is a factory polka dot natasha top, when the retail one is still full price? It was polyester, with a price tag that did NOT match. Yuck.

I bought the printed cecelia which was on clearance. The print is adorable and I love the full skirt. Much less "little house on the prarie" than last year's retail version.

Weirdly, there is an IDENTICAL dress to the plain cecelia at the ann taylor outlet. It is literally the same fabric, style, cut... I wonder if it came from the same factory and they just slapped different labels on it?

  11. Went to Memphis B&M, had a very pleasant experience for a change. Lots of great spring items. Picked up the feather paisley skirt, had to size up, and 2 linen pin tuck shells. The shells were marked down to $29.99.

  12. Has anyone seen or tried on the Tiered shift dress in raindrop eyelet? I know the shirt has done well but was wondering how it was in a dress. I was thinking it may be ideal for graduate school graduation.

  13. I took a quick field trip to the Clearance Center in Lynchburg. Two of my new dresses were samples. From the markings, it appears that, if they reach production, the dresses are targeted for summer release. The first is a sheath dress in the coaster stripe. The other a flowy blue and white stripe - it was well made but is probably rayon so it may be destined for the crewlet. I don't have a blog but will try to find a way to post a link to some photos later in the week.

  14. OT, but I came across photos of a wedding where the bridesmaids wore maritime dresses, and it is absolutely adorable:

  15. OT, but I just noticed that Madewell's Bootlegger jeans have gone up in price. The Madewell Wash ones went from 89.50 to 115.00. I can't remember exactly what the other wash was, but it's now 125.00.

    1. Oh man... That sucks. I like their bootleg jeans too but I'm not paying $100+ for them.

  16. Elaine:
I'm going to wait for the Eyelet Tank to go on sale too. From past seasons their tissue tanks of 39.50 usually makes it to sale first cut 29.99 and then 19.99 so just going to have to play the wait for sale, be patient game :)! But I'm predicting and end of April or May sale which is good cuz the weather will be warmer where i live.

JCrewJD: Funny thing is I was at the GapKids and they have a pink and red lace tank for kids in the exact same fabric as the JCrew Lace Over Tank from last year. I swear it was the same tank from JCrew, just smaller for kids, no buttons, and the Gap label.
