J.Crew Factory Email: Your favorite finds: enjoy up to 40% off new arrivals & free shipping

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend. They are also offering up to 40% off on select new arrivals. There's more! They are offering free shipping on your entire order with promo code FREESHIP. This promotion ends today!

As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory offerings? Will you check them out?

  1. Ok I just saw this too and apparently no one at jcrew can do basic math. It says prices are as marked but they're no where near 40% off. Crazy

  2. I can't get in to factory! It just bounces back to the main j.crew page each time.

  3. I was at the factory store last week. Made out pretty well:) Most I ever bought from J.Crew in a LONG time. The quality has really improved.

  4. So it appears this factory promo excludes Canadians because I can only access Factory site today if I set shipping to US.

  5. @dagmara: That explains why I can't get into the site either. That's just stupid.

  6. The cute pleated blue silk/viscose skirt is on clearance already. I really wanted the orange polka dot one but it has been sold out for days, and they don't carry it (or any of the other cutest stuff) at my b&m. Boohoo! Huge update to the factory clearance section, though...

  7. Oh, and the denim pencil is marked WAY down, and is also on clearance at my b&m for around that price ($35ish) but there is also an additional 30% off. Better deal in store, as usual.

  9. I highly recommend the Factory Jackie in navy stripe. I ordered it during the 30% off promo. The quality seems very close to nonfactory, and I love that it is navy and white stripes rather than navy and cream/beige. I am considering the neon pink stripe as well.

  10. Teeny84 but then I discovered if I logged in as US user that I could change my shipping to Canada . Not sure what happens upon checkout though. Must be a glitch.

  11. I can't find it now but yesterday there was a graphic on the homepage asking me to subscribe to the style guide but it didn't work for me either.

  12. Might have bit on the candy stripe mini but it is ?new" and "final sale." WTH?

Also, I am liking this "free ship with no minimum" trend. I am so much more likely to order if I don't have to hunt for fillers that I am just going to return anyway. J Crew's beend oing a lot of free shipping lately...maybe that is why their profits are increasing?

  13. Carolyn from Vancouver here.
The one item I will not purchase from factory again is the jackie cardigan. After only one wear it was stretched out and looked old. The material is so flimsy (Thin). I bought two and wished I had tried ONE first.Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but they are not well made even for the lesser price tag.

  14. I have several crewlet reviews here, here, here and here with the most recent items at the factory store. HTH

  15. If anyone is interested, I reviewed the Factory Ruffle Gamine Jacket here .
I was really happy with both the fit and fabric--far better that what you'd find at J Crew retail, esp. for the price!

  16. I got the pink and white Jackie and a pink tank to go under it last week. So far so good. Fingers crossed.

    1. original Genny - I got that one, too. Cute. There's a bright pink Old Navy tank that looks good under. Also from J'Crewlet I like the shrunken fisherman sweater and capri skimmers. Although, the black capris attracted so much link before I got out of the house I almost took them back.

    2. I got the navy one last week, which I LOVE. Quality is nicer than the retail version I got this winter! Pink one looked adorable too!

  17. Has anyone tried the Factory Marigold Paisley Cardigan? It seems really pretty online, but quality wise, what's going on?

    1. st, it's similar to the jackies. I will post a pic later this week on my blog.

    2. st, it seems the same as regular jcrew printed cotton cardigans. I don't care for them at factory or regular jcrew because the cotton is so... flimsy, but the print sure is pretty on this one!

  18. Can anyone comment on the fit/sizing of the factory chambray [Addison] trousers? Do they fit true to jcrew denim size? In my experience, jcrew denim fits smaller than their khaki/twill/other materials on me. Any advice?

  19. OT: I just placed an order with another company only for 15% off a $75 or more purchase and free shipping over $100. My order was $104 before any discounts. It took the 15% off which of course lowered my purchase amount below $100 HOWEVER...I still got free shipping b/c my purchase amount was $104 originally. J.Crew has a lot to learn. I was so happy to still get free shipping with an order that was less than $100 after discounts.

  21. Hi all -- does anyone have any feedback on the Factory poplin Johanna dress in pink? When I try to click the picture, I can't see any other views or zoom in. I think I remember it from last spring... low back, exposed zip. Is this somewhat similar to the Dolores dress from this spring? Can anyone comment on sizing?

  22. I am so mad. I checked the Factory website when they were doing the extra 30% off, and the 2 military-style jackets were out in every size except for Large or X-Large. They might have also been a little cheaper. Now that the sale is over, all of the sizes are available again. There's no way that's just a coincidence.

  23. Koala2: sorry, I can't get the post to reply to your question so I'm posting it here. Anyways, I just got the Addison chambray trousers today (I also have the Addison grey chino trousers). I am normally a size 8 but the size 10 in the chambray trousers fit me perfectly. I also got a 10 in the grey chino trousers last month but they are big on me so I think that the chambray Addison trousers run smaller than the chino ones. I've found that the J. Crew chinos as well as some of their denim runs small compared to my pant size in other brands. Anyways, I'd suggest going 1 size up. They are really nice, flattering pants! Got them for $37.50 today. HTH!

  24. Oh, and check out the factory version of the Matinee trench! It is A-mazing and 40% off! I also love the factory poplin skirt, it's very fun and flattering and will be a great alternative to shorts in the summer. Really lightweight too! I got my normal size 8 in both of these. I've seen some reviews already of the Thandie sweater but it is one of my favorite J. Crew factory items right now. The mint and pink are beautiful (the mint is only in stores). It runs big, small fit perfectly vs. my normal medium (the medium is loose and comfy though so depends on how you want it to fit!)
