J.Crew of Season's Past: {a look in the closet}

It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".

This post features the Talitha Tropical Dress (item 84041; $450.00)- this is one amazing piece. J.Crew provides a nice back story too: "This limited-edition dress reminds us of something Talitha Getty may have worn in the late 1960's. The bright Mediterranean light and the vivid hues of Southern France inspired the colors." Super pretty!

What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?

  1. OOoooohh! How I lusted after the Talithas, particularly this one but never got it in my size. Not even on eBay. Seeing it again has re-opened the wound in my heart :-(

  3. This is one of my fantasy JC items. Something I have zero practical purpose for, but every time I see it, my heart flutters! Thank you for this Tuesday treat! :)

    Sidenote: someone on eBay is selling the Versailles dress NWT in a small size, maybe a 2 or a 4. I know many of you covet it so I thought I'd mention that I saw it in my travels this past weekend. ...

    3. kikki, i did not (sorry) but i believe it was listed under the right item name ... my gues is someone made her an offer she couldn't refuse, so she ended the auction. hope she got a good price for it. i think her starting bid was $200+ and there was no BIN option.

  4. I just searched for this dress on ebay and saw someone was trying to sell it for 800!
    On that note, I do have the orange linen version in a size 4 that I would be willing to part with for what I paid for it ($300). It was worn exactly once (to a wedding).

    Not putting in this in the weekly selling post only because I just remembered I had the dress due to this post, and am only trying to sell if it someone truly has their heart looking for it!
