Yesterday's offer was 5% better. So I am going to sit this one out. On a bright note, always happy when J.Crew offers some kind of promotion over nothing. And... it's only for two days. Looking forward to the next promotion. ;)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? What item are you hoping to pick up? Please share!

  1. I'm sitting this one as well. I need more casual jackets, and ordered last night the parka/poncho in red. Has anyone seen and tried it IRL?

    2. Off topic but @mygoddy I got my Collection Tie-Dyed Silk Shirt today and it is perfection!!! I love the way it fits (tts) I love the way it looks (the colors are so rich and saturated), the softness of the material is just yummy.... AND I had it price adjusted so that I got it for $131 instead of $188 (although even at full price I feel that it is worth every penny!!) Thanks to YOU I have so many outfit ideas to start playing around with!!! So excited!

  2. I am sitting out on this one too. I also noticed that J. Crew has been incredibly stingy with free shipping.

  3. Sitting this one out too, still waiting on a couple of items I ordered last week.
Has anyone seen the washed cotton skirt IRL? I'm wondering about the slit being too high. Thx

    1. I got mine (honey brown)/e9584 and it is a keeper. Nice and soft material while substancial. The skirt has pockets(yay for that) & slit isn't too high at all (I'm 5'8" for reference). Definitely a good piece.
I ordered the light color too (because I have a thing with skirts:)but have not received it yet. I will see how that one will look on as it might not be as forgiving as the darker color(see thru or thinner material). HTH

  4. Seems to me that very few items are selling briskly. The gingham Kiki's and the pompom sandals have moved, but not much else. Usually there are some key items that sell out after the first few days of a rollout.

    1. The French blue linen pants....

    2. Yes, I agree Cousy. Their are a couple of things I have my eye on but they all been excluded from the promos lately. If they would just include those items now they won't have to mark them down, with an additional % off, later.

    3. That should say "they have all been".

    4. I'm the odd person out, since I know a lot of people like the new roll out, but most of what I've seen isn't my style. I am tempted by the cape trench, there is something about it. I'm not a big trench or cape person, so I have to remind myself I probably wouldn't wear it. I wish it were a lighter khaki color too. I also like the long pleated skirt, though it isn't as easily available in petite anymore and it is very long. I've seen it in store. Most of what is out is a bit boring to me. I feel like gingham is the plaid for Spring and they're running with it.

    5. I'm with you @Jessica. Lots of substandard fabrics and more of the same. And, then some just downright odd things. I haven't ordered a single things in months and months. I didn't wishlist a single thing from the last rollout. My wishlist is a sad state of affairs, with only a long sold-out pair of Nike waffle racers and a pair of $650 leather pants that I'm going to pounce on to try if they ever make it to (non final) sale + 40% off.

  5. A few early reviews…
    1. Flare Jean in Parkmount Wash (Item E8442). This is the jean I thought had potential for a shorter person because of its 32" inseam. It also comes in Petites (and Talls). I didn't try the Petites, but I think the regular sizing is the right call for me. I'm 5'4" and not otherwise petite so even with my height I don't try Petite sizes. They're a bit long, and I think they would be fine with a heel. They will drag on me otherwise. I probably need to get them hemmed since I don't wear heels very often. The rise is pretty high on these, but I think not as high as the Billie Demi-Boot Crop jeans, or maybe it's the same rise and I just like them better. I'll have to re-check the rise and report back if anyone wants to know. The denim is soft, and it's a casual wash. I really like them. I took my Toothpick jean size in these.

    2. Billie Demi-Boot Crop jeans. I didn't like these, and I really wanted to. The rise is above my belly button and they are very unflattering on me in the stomach area. I tried a few different washes and it made no difference. I loved the bottom kick/flare part, though. I just couldn't get past how bad they were on top. I think most people are going to like them, though. I just need more help in my mid-section and these jeans showcased my flaws. I think I need to stick to a mid-rise.

    3. Weekend Pant (Item E9182). I tried these in "faded black" and I love them. They are TTS, maybe a bit roomy. Very soft fabric, has belt loops. I think it's mostly Lyocell, with some linen.

    1. Hi Cate - Sorry to hear about the Billies not working out for you. I'm receiving my order tomorrow. I ordered the dark rinse and white in a 27P. I'm short waisted, so I wonder how the high rise in 'petite' will be like on me. Crossing fingers.

I wonder if high waisted jeans are really only made for women with long torsos???

    2. I hadn't considered that the Petites could have a lower rise. Hm, now you have me thinking about trying them in Petite, although I might lose length that I don't want to lose. I hope yours will work out. I thought the crop and flare were just right on them, not too exaggerated. Please post about what you think of them. Maybe I'll give the Petites a try if you think the rise isn't that high.

  6. The gingham moto jacket arrived. I find the arms a little tight, but the body loose, do wouldn't want to size down (I'm usually a 2). It's also very cropped even for a moto. If it were leather this wouldn't bother me, but the light linen does. Cute. Generally well made. But going back.

  7. All I've gotten is the white/blue/orange painter t-shirt, and a lot of that was because my size was sold out in all but one store here, once I had finally decided I did want it after all. Definitely wish the final sale discount had been more than 30%-off though. I'm very tempted by the navy micro-pleated skirt, especially with it selling out fast, but I'm really loathe to pay only 25% off $155 for a polyester skirt. I feel like this one isn't going to make it to the clearance section though, especially not in my size.

    1. Hi Xan, I'm on the fence about the micropleated skirt too. I did buy it in Vivid Lilac soon after released (got 25% off $155) but I hate the thought of dry cleaning poly and paying this much for poly. I'm still deciding on keeping it as my size has been sold out for a while so I may not be able to rebuy if I change my mind. At least the navy was in store so you may have a better chance waiting since you could do a charge send from a store.

  8. Not thrilled with the 25% off but I did get a few denim jackets this morning that were low stock in the sale section - the calyer wash and Sharon wash. I'll be watching for a better price adjustment though. My current Crew denim jacket is 10 years old (still in great shape) but I have been feeling like I need a refresh.

    1. Hi Anne, how does the Denin jacket in Calyer wash fit? Would you know? tts/ short? I've been keeping an eye for popbacks .. and would appreciate being able to order without concerns on sizing.. Thanks!

    2. @Nan I just ordered them this morning so I will report back when I have them and try them on...I haven't tried either in store so I guessed on size. I'm 5'8" so always looking for one that's long enough!

    4. I have the jacket in the Cayler wash (love it). I bought it last summer. It fits TTS to slightly small/shrunken. I didn't size up, but it's cut a little slimmer than other J. Crew denim jackets I've had. It does have an intentional rip in the back (all of the jackets I saw in the store had it). I thought it would annoy me, but it doesn't. I actually hesitated for a few weeks on the jacket because of it, but since I got it, I wore it a lot last summer and fall (it looks great with white jeans and my white Birkenstocks).
