Extra 40-50% off FINAL Sale {yeah "final" is back!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, including D*ska (in this post), who shared the following email & promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering an additional 40% off final sale prices, and 50% off select final sale styles, using promo code SHOPMORE. This offer expires July 8, 2014. The fine print includes:
ONLINE: 40% OFF FINAL SALE ITEMS & 50% OFF SELECT FINAL SALE ITEMS. IN STORES: 50% OFF FINAL SALE ITEMS. Discount valid on purchases of final sale items in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from July 3, 2014, 12:01am ET through July 8, 2014, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in Liquor Store or Ludlow Shops; in 769 Madison Avenue, Bloor Street or J.Crew Factory stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. In-store discount automatically applied at the register. To redeem online, enter code SHOPMORE in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change. Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.
It should be mentioned that brick & mortar stores are still running an additional 50% off all their Final Sale.

Ugh, how I despise Final Sale. I was one of those shoppers who was still taking advantage of all the promotions in the past few weeks. However, I will be limiting my purchases drastically as I hate "final sale".

"Thanks!" to many JCAs,  including Doodle Daschund, ShopALot, Ina Mack, & Lauren (in this post), who let us know that B&M stores have additional items on sale. For example, it was shared that J.Crew's Wildflower Necklace (item A8718) is on sale in-store for $109.99 before any additional discount. It is still full price online.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any in-store prices different than online prices? Please share!

  1. Just a note that not all items are final sale. For example, the denim jackets in white and ecru are on sale now, but not final, ditto for many of the chino shorts...

    1. So it's returnable if you put it in the cart and doesn't say 'this item is final sale and cannot be returned' ?

      Delete
    2. ksdumpster, that should be the case. Most final sale items end with .99.

    3. Greetings AudreyS - Anything "Final Sale" is clearly marked on that webpage, and the FS notification will follow the item to your cart, and show up on your e-mail notification after you have placed an order. The .99 guideline is a good one, but I'm noticing that it is not consistent with all those items. When in doubt, you can call CS to verify if it is an FS item or not. Good luck! Jennifer

    4. Just bought the puff sleeve blazer in stretched cotton online for $199.99 before 40% off and it's wasn't marked final sale. Hope this is so!

I have heard that puff sleeve blazers run small, but I took a chance with my usual size because I have the puff sleeve in pinstripe in my usual size and it fits fine.

  2. Just got a price adjustment on the Downtown Field Jacket, which is now 40% off. She told me she would do it as a "one time courtesy." ha

    1. Thanks for posting this. I ordered last week and it is on back order. Emailed for a PA and surprisingly didn't get the one time courtesy line.

  4. I am mad that I didn't place a big order yesterday with the cardholder promo. There were lots of things I wanted to try before final sale kicked in. I did bite on the collection silk pant in peacock paisley. They came to $125.99 after the promo and not marked final sale so I ordered two sizes to try.

  5. I was excited to log on this morning at 5:30 post-shower to see what kind of popbacks might be waiting for me to scoop up. Nothing. Nada. Nope. Thanks J Crew for saving me money... again.

  6. I plan on calling my local stores to check if any jewelry aside from the Wildflower Necklace got markdowns, so if I find anything out, I'll post it here!

    4. Here are a few more of the earring styles that went but I don't recall the prices. A9251, B0236, A9252, A8638. Hope this helps.

    2. Maybe they should just raffle it off or something at one of their Friday promos {if they still do those anymore} I think everyone agrees that it should be put out of its misery. I loved the "Let It Go" post from a couple of weeks ago, maybe Alexis should make it a weekly thing and we can have a fug item of the week. Happy 4th of July {or late Canada Day} everyone!

    3. Back like a bad penny. Ugh that thing is fugly!

  8. Once again I'm pulled back into the sale rack. Thankfully it's for fall items that are transitional. Staying away from buying summer clothing and 'trying' to only buy pieces that fill in the empty holes in my wardrobe. Merino grey flannel cardigan and grey slim Bowery pants. Both well below 50% off once the code was applied.

It is just me or do many of us get sale fever and can't stop shopping; like eating peanuts, you can't quit after one.

    1. Pass the peanuts please lol. I can't help myself either. I finally picked up the puff sleeved blazer after waiting for it to go on sale.

  9. I didn't think I was going to get anything but I picked up the eyelet shirtdress in kiwi since they had the tall version in my size and it took another price cut. It'll be an easy dress for work or the weekends.

But really...there is so much languishing in that sale section that needs to be drastically cut price wise or just go away. The fact that it's July and I can still purchase the skiier sweater is a little absurd.

  10. Luckily I used the cardholder promo yesterday to get stuff before it got marked final sale. Yes, jcrew guy, so many sales from so many retailers, I keep telling myself I don't need anything else but then get sucked back in.

  12. So if this sale ends on the 8th, does it mean J.Crew is launching their August roll-out on Wednesday, the 9th?...or would that still be a week after, on the 16th?

I'm kind of glad (not really) that they put the Final Sale back...which means I held back from my crazy shopping, and it makes me think twice about buying an item, since it's the dreaded FINAL SALE... :)

Bring on the fall items!! Can't wait!

  13. Review of the black downtown field jacket. 40% off $128 w/SHOPMORE. On promo, so not final sale. I returned it as it's too close to mossy brown. Shopalot, later I can add side-by-side pics of the black & mossy brown to the review, but for now if you want to see irl pics of the mossy brown visit this post. Yeah, the one where I laughed at the jacket. I literally wear it all the time.

If I were keeping it, I would've traded my regular S for a PM.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Is there a difference in the regular S and PM? I tried the regular M but sleeves were too long and it was a tad big so I just ordered PM but I'm wondering if I need the PL.

      Delete
    2. traderscoobies - A size S is generally the equivalent of a PM. A size M = PL. The PM might fit you, but be sure to try it on with a couple of layers under before deciding on the final size. $0.02

  16. I went to my local today. The Andies are like $17 on sale. I tried on the Gemstone Silk pattern shift dress. Cute, but not spectacular. I sized down to a 2 from my normal size 4. Most of the sale tops were blah and boring and see through. That includes the sweaters. I tried on one of those scuba dresses. Ohmygawd, awful!! it weighs like 25lbs. and what's w/those horrible back pleats? WTH? Fug! I did get the navy/grey maxiskirt for approx. $25. That was all I found. I love the gauze mini-skirts, but ain't even trying it on til they get a markdown.

  20. I picked up the navy sweater with the scallop hem (after discount of 50% in store it was $22.49) and both black and natural in the big rim straw beach hat ($12.49 after discount) and at 25% off the arrowhead earrings and the bead droplet white earrings. I tried on the white gauze maxi skirt. It was just "ok" for me. Also tried on the halter maxi dress in black with the white chevron stripes meeting in the center. It was just ok too....but it was down to like $50.00. The store was pretty busy and there were alot of guys shopping too. I hardly ever see men in the store!

  21. Picked up another pair of Andie chinos for around $17.50 in the SF downtown store. Wish there'd been more colors, but I won't do online final sale. Good luck everyone!

    1. Aack. After this message I noticed that there was still a pair of the Andies in olive moss in my size online, and that was the color I really wanted. Now eating my words! Also picked up the sateen lace-up tee, am depending on a review I saw here for the sizing. Thanks to all of you who post reviews and sizing info here, it's crucial when it comes to the horrid final sale.

      Delete
    2. Caille, I am thinking of trying the lace-up sateen tee too. Did you go up one size? Also, my local store (Fair Oaks Mall in VA) had a lot of Andie pants in a variety of colors when I was there on Wednesday!

      Delete
    3. I did order it in a size larger than my normal size. The site review says that it's tough to get on and off and a poster here said to size up, so that seems like the best bet. Fingers crossed! (And thanks for the tip!)

  22. sorry to comment again on this post, but I stopped by the j. crew in columbia mall, maryland, this evening and was able to see a few other jewelry pieces that were on sale that aren't on sale online:

JEWELED COLOR BURST CHARM BRACELET, item a9266 - didn't see the price, but it was in the sale glass case.

PERSIMMON DROP EARRINGS, item a9260 - on sale for $29.99 before the additional 50 percent off

FLOWER BUD TASSEL EARRINGS, item a8722 - on sale for $44.99 before the additional 50 percent off

STARBURST NECKLACE, item a8074 - on sale for $79.99 before the additional 50 percent off

they also had some jewelry items that other JCAs - like the very helpful Doodle Daschund - have reported as being on sale, but they didn't have them separated into the sale case. (and unfortunately, they weren't very helpful about telling me which items were actually on sale, either.) however, I checked with my VPS, who is based in the chevy chase, maryland, store, and these items are supposed to be on sale, so if you're interested, make sure to have an employee scan them for you! they are:

Mixed media drop earrings, item A8638: should be $59.99 before 50 percent off

Stone medallion necklace, item B0235: should be $89.99 before 50 percent off

Crystal shade earrings, item A9252: should be $65.99 before 50 percent off

Color cascade earrings, item B0236: should be $31.99 before 50 percent off

POLYNESIAN STONE EARRINGS, item a8624: should be $59.99 before 50 percent off

    happy hunting, everyone!

  23. Anyone out there try on the Cork Kiki's? Just wondering how they run and if I should go up 1/2 size or stick w/ my regular shoe size. Thanks!

  24. So sad to see final sale back again. I really wish they would just do away with it!

On a more positive note, at least there are a lot of promo-priced items eligible for the extra % off this time. I've updated the J.Crew Promo-Priced items list, and have also included the recent markdowns (which are now final sale, unfortunately). See the list here:

    J.Crew Promo-Priced Items & Final Sale Markdowns

  25. I got the additional 50% off the (stretch) denim jacket in ecru, at the crowded Westfield store in San Francisco yesterday afternoon. There were still a lot left, but I think I got the last large. This jacket runs really small - I think it's supposed to have a shrunken look - but I couldn't button mine up in a M, and I can easily wear an 8 at J crew. A steal at $45, I think.

  26. Four new reviews, incl the swiss-dot pom-pom skirt & the gauze maxiskirt, cheaper online than in-store. Math for that in the post.
