J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online). I honestly did not even realize there were new arrivals until I got the email this morning. ;)

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The JULY catalog (click here to view) is still up. I am not sure if the next catalog is out yet. As mentioned by several JCAs, J.Crew always posts several images of the newest catalog before its release over at Pinterest (click here to view).

J.Crew is no longer offering 40% off Sale and 50% off select Final Sale items. Stupid move. It is worth mentioning that a lot of new items made it to sale. But they are offering free shipping on any order today (applied automatically at checkout).

My top pick for this rollout is the Colorblock Stripe Dress (item B0129; $128.00). There is something about this dress that looks cute for Summer. Plus, the side panels look super slimming.

Honestly, I can't wait to see what J.Crew plans to offer for the Fall. Even though I have no desire to wear anything Fall-like right now. ;)

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Pretty small rollout, and silly to take away sale and not even lower any prices. In other news, JCREW Factory has 50% off clearance today. Amazing prices.

  2. Yeah, it makes no sense to take away the extra discounts on sale at this point, July is such a dead zone in retail anyways they need to be pulling out all the stops to get this stale sale inventory moving. I bought quite a bit at the store yesterday, a lot of what I bought was transitional fall pieces including merino sweaters. I'm not interested in any more warm weather clothes, unless something amazing comes out I'm ready for fall. Nothing in this rollout seemed to catch my eye. I wonder if stores are still having their 50% off sale going now that the website has taken it off?

    1. It's worth noting if the stores are still running their 50% off sale that there are some great deals. The lattice pencil skirt was marked down to $39.99 before the discount (it may have even been $34.99). I got several merino sweaters for less than $15 each as well. They were still packed with summer merchandise but I ignored it and went for transitional fall pieces.

  3. Wow. I think that this is one of the most unflattering item pics I've seen on JC.

Some of the new items have a more greyish background so hopefully they're going to stop blowing out the photos on a stark white background so much.

    1. Terrible photo, I wouldn't even consider those jeans! Who approved that for the website?

    2. That's pretty much how those high-waisted boyfriend jeans look on me and why I'm not buying them ever!

    3. Ugh, I thought maybe someone took a secret picture of me in the fitting room of Gap when I tried on their Sexy Boyfriend jeans. Perhaps they work on someone but not "sexy" on me, ha ha! If the 5'10 super slim model can't make them look good, there is no hope for me.

    4. silver_lining - You're awesome. That made me laugh out loud.

Maybe someone purposely & rebelliously didn't Photoshop this one. Or jut forgot.

    5. I thought the same thing - did they sneak a photo of me, with my stubby, sturdy legs, on the website?

(If they make the model look like me, what would they make me look like? I have the feeling the answer is not "a model".)

  4. I'm surprised to see shirts/sweatshirts with jewels on them. I thought this trend had ended. Will someone really shell out the money for item a9984?

    1. If there are still scads of bejeweled/embellished tops in the sale section, why would you keep manufacturing new ones? I don't get it.

  5. I agree about taking away the extra discount at this point. It just makes no sense that they do not want to move the sale items, especially since most shoppers will start looking forward to the fall season for clothes shopping now, and are less likely to buy summer styles.

As for this mini-rollout, I do not see anything that I am remotely interested in. There are a couple of sale items I wouldn't mind having, but not without an extra % off at this point.

  6. Yes, I agree with all of the posts above. Not only should the extra discount be applied, they should have upped it to all sale at 50% off. I bought some things on sale yesterday with the 40% off, do they really think I am going to buy anything today? Fall items will be out soon and their is still a lot of stuff from last fall in the sale section. Move on!

  7. Hi! Has anyone ordered the Hibiscus floral maxidress? Please let me know how it worked for you! Thanks!

    1. Ditto! It's the only thing that caught my eye in recent weeks from the rollouts.

    2. Hello ladies! I bought and returned this dress. Sadly, didn't take photos. I'm petite, and the body of the dress is voluminous to the point of tent-like on me. It was unlined, but has pockets. Done in cotton, so the print was ok, nothing awesome, I felt. The top is fitted, square and un revealing (good in my books), but you should take your true size otherwise it will look like your boobs are oozing up the top of the dress, being squeezed too tight. The back of the dress has a hidden zipper and is low and square but hits above the bra strap. Arm holes are on the large side.

  8. I miss the days when the JC roll outs of new arrivals had me scrambling like a mad woman to get them into my shopping cart and checkout before someone could get them. I was so excited to get those items into my closet! I haven't purchased more than 5 items this Spring/Summer and even then my purchases only consisted of a few tissue t's on promo, the Downtown Field Jacket on promo, and a button-down shirt from Factory, on promo. I have a rule not to buy anything full price from JC. I'll be holding out on any further purchases until the Fall roll-outs, when I think JC does their best work. Hopefully it will be great classic pieces and less crazy designs and patterns.

  9. I was able to still snag the 40% off AND the free shipping during those magical few moments in the middle of the night when the promos overlap. Sometimes being a night-owl really does pay off! (thought all I ended up buying were a few tees. Everything else just seemed meh.)

    1. About what time are the magical moments;-))? I ordered on Tuesday a pair of shorts and a tank with the promo (and a good thing that was too as there is no promo today) but would have loved the free shipping as well. I was expecting that more or less on Tuesday as they have done that a couple of times on the last day of a promo, but no luck this time.

    2. Fleur de lys, she's talking about the time when one promo is ending and another one is beginning. It's right after midnight here on the East Coast. I've taken advantage of it in the past but now I have an infant and sleep is more important to me...lol

    3. Yes that's when it is for me too Lauren! I was on around 12:30 am Central time last night. The "SHOPMORE" 40% promo wasn't listed anymore, but when I plugged it in, it was still accepted. Don't know how long it lasts though, because I could barely keep my eyes open to place my order. Who knows what I'll receive!

    4. Thanks!! I'm going to try and catch that time window next time

  10. I will not bite without a promo. What they need to do is extra 50% off and no final sale. They could shorten the return time on "final sale" type merchandise to 7-14 days. That way we could try without fear and they could still move out the merchandise within a month's time. There are several things that I am interested in but wish I tried before final sale.

    1. I totally agree that they should change the policy on final sale if they aren't going to lower prices. I had written comments on the BizRate survey about two years ago to the same effect--either shorten the return time frame or even store credit only on final sale returns would satisfy me. Got no response.

  11. The grid dot maxidress is the only thing that interests me, and while it seems to be nicely constructed (and cotton!), I won't be purchasing it without a sale of some kind. I also agree it is annoying to take away the extra % off sale because it's obviously not moving without it. I rarely buy from sale anyways, but depending on price I don't mind getting something every now and then.

  12. At a glance, these are not the pretty new things I saw in my store. Maybe the will be in the next roll out. I was in and out so quickly , but remember a lot of dk blue and green mixed with black.

  13. I agree, removing the 40/50% off sale was dumb. But all I did was call the store and have them place my order with the in-store 50% promo PLUS the 15% educator's discount.

  14. I didn't see anything this time. Most of the New Arrivals have been in my store a while already.

  15. Are the Embroidered Gauze Cotton Shorts (item A6431) new? I saw someone wearing them this past weekend with a white tee and a red foldover clutch and it looked great. I didn't know the shorts were J. Crew, but then I received the new arrivals email today that featured them. I'm very tempted because I loved the way this woman's outfit looked.

    1. They have been out since sometime in June I think. Ina reviewed them on her blog back then...

  16. Maybe they'll bring back the 40% off sale tomorrow.

I was at my B&M in downtown SF yesterday. Sale was 50%. Got the Drapey T in beach heart for $15, a polka dot cream bandana for $7, and the bandana headband for $4. There were some stuff I tried on, but I really didn't want to spend my money on summer clothes, I'm saving for fall.

With all this shopping I did, I wonder when they'll send the rewards again? Is it done every 3 months? I remember getting it in March, and again in June...

I'm so bored with the summer stuff, and CANNOT wait for the 23rd! J.Crew fall/winter is the best.

    1. I just saw my rewards. It has been processed and it said I will receive it in 4 to 6 weeks. Yay! Perfect, in time for Fall!

  17. Nothing I have to have this go around which is fine because even though I'm not ready for summer to be over...I'm ready to admire fall clothes.

As I was looking at the new arrivals, I had to laugh, J.Crew must be running out of naming ideas because item A874 is just called "sundress"...it looks similar to the Eleni dress.

Also, after not loving a lot of J.Crew's jewelry, I find myself liking a lot more of the pendants and simpler necklaces.

    1. I totally agree with you on just liking the pendants and more simple pieces. Those 'statement' necklaces will look dated soon, but the simple ones will be more classic/timeless.

  18. TUNIC SWEATER
    item a9190
Hi, has anyone seen or tried in real life? I was thinking of the heather coal or heather almond as a fall transitional piece. Thoughts on the shirt itself and any of the colours would be super appreciated! Thanks!

    1. I tried them on but they were just so so, they were I think $10 in the store after the 50%. I'm very curvy/busty and they did nothing for me but I can see them being flattering on a different body type.

    2. Thanks though I'm mot sure we are referring to the same tunic sweater as these ones are still full price.

  19. Has anyone seen the 'Back-Zip Sandal' (item A4968) in their store? I am looking for a size 8 in the warm sienna and/or black. None of the stores I live near have very many shoes and I'm jealous of you that do :) Thanks!

    1. Yes! The Charlotte, NC South Park store had a pair as of last Sunday @ $40.00 with the (50%) promo -- I'm a size 8 and purchased the black pair.

    2. Thanks so much! I'll call them in the AM. I actually used to live near that store! How do you like the sandals?

    3. These ran very big for me, had to return them.

  20. Sorry for the second comment, but the sundress in poly? Talk about an oxymoron.

  21. bummer the free ship is today with no 40% off. I would have picked up a sale item or two. I did take advantage and purchase a bottle of the sea salt/mineral hair mist....
