  1. I also love this promotion, Alexis! There are really such amazing deals with the extra 40% off. I placed a couple of orders for stacking and midi rings, which ended up being less than $10 per set. I also ordered a couple of the intimates items that are on promo right now, which ended up being less than $10, too...gotta love those kinds of deals!

Btw, I have the outbound jacket and absolutely love it! I bought mine earlier this year and have worn it constantly (up until last month when it finally warmed up here). I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a flattering, well-made, and comfortable fatigue jacket. :)

  2. Also, there are a lot of promo-priced items that receive the 40% discount, as well as a ton of new markdowns that get the extra % off, too. I've updated the Madewell Promo-Priced Items & Markdowns list...See It Here.

  3. I love when Madewell does this promo! I shouldn't have ordered anything because I'm way over budget and I just placed another order, but I did... I got the Outbound Jacket and another Linen Timeoff Tee (this time in navy, I love my grey one so much I had to get another). I've been ordering more than I normally would since I have a store opening up near me next month!

  4. Anyone compared the Madewell Outbound Jacket v. the JCREW Boyfriend Fatigue? Gigi Smackdown?

    1. Well, I'm not Gigi, and her smackdowns are awesome, but I can speak to your question. The madewell jacket is shorter, more structured, with a lovely collar. The JCrew jacket is more trendy, more boyish/Salvation Army, more literal, flattering in an I-don't-care-but-this-does-make-me-look-feminine-with-it's-giant-proportions kind of way. The washes are slightly different, but overall, they are comparable and close enough that you should feel equally cool in either one! You can later more under the JCrew jacket for sure. If also comes with a good, whereS the madewell jacket is more of an urban chic hood less jacket. HTH! I have both, so I'll try to post pictures on my blog.

    2. Sorry!layer not "later" under the JCrew jacket, which comes with a hood, not "good".

    3. FYI, Blaire Edie of Atlantic Pacific has featured it today on her IG. Links to shopbop where it's selling for full price!

    4. Hi whatthemom! I actually own both jackets, so I'll chime in, as well. The Outbound jacket is shorter and more structured as maqsad said, plus it is slightly darker in color, and also thicker than the boyfriend fatigue jacket. Prior to getting my outbound jacket, I wore my boyfriend fatigue jacket everyday layered over a sweater and hoodie (since it is fairly lightweight), but decided that I would also like one that is more fitted and structured so I bought the madewell jacket. I love both of them, and each one serves its own purpose in my wardrobe without being repetative of the other. You can see pictures of each one on me in my instagram if you're interested. :)

P.S. I also own the Madewell all-weather outbound jacket, and the outbound jacket in camo, as well.

    5. Just to add that I have been hoping that J.Crew will offer the boyfriend fatigue jacket in another color such as grey. If they do, I will definitely buy it! :)

    6. Melissa, actually, JC DID make the BF fatigue jacket in grey, although it was called faded black and is more like a charcoal. I have it and love it, and am surprised that they haven't brought it back! (This was a 2009 fall item, I think.)

    7. Thanks for the information Audrey! I don't even remember that one, only the solid lieutenant jacket in the same faded black color. You are so lucky to have gotten it! I am also really surprised they haven't brought it back in that color. Maybe they will pull it from the archives to offer later this year or next...fingers crossed! I would be willing to pay full-price for it if they did! :)

  7. I placed an order for a couple of tops and an umbrella. I own a Madewell umbrella (purchased last month) and love it. I'm considering another order :)

  8. I will also add that I really love the fact that Madewell offers free shipping/no minimum. The items I ordered were placed at 2 different times of the day, which I would not do at J.Crew because of the higher minimum amount required to get the free shipping. I think the free shipping makes it much more likely that shoppers will return to shop more frequently during the sale, or even during the same day. J.Crew should really think about doing the free ship/no minimum on a full-time basis, too. Maybe they would get rid of more of their ever lingering stock that way. :)

    1. I actually told J.Crew similar comments about the price of shipping and frequency of orders on a recent survey at the end of my purchase. I received a reply back saying they would waive the shipping charges for multiple orders placed in one day, and just to call CS so they can price adjust subsequent orders. Just a tip since I know I can't be the only one frustrated by popbacks, shipping charges, etc :)

    2. Thanks Ashley! It used to be that they would only honor the free shipping on additional orders if they were placed within 1 hour. Glad to know they've extended it to the entire day at least. :)

  9. Hello! Does anyone know when Madewell updates their site? It seems lately J.Crew does their update at 4:30 a.m. central time, so wasn't sure if it was the same for Madewell. I'm stalking a pair of shoes and hoping for a popback. I found them on eBay but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

    1. Hi Danielle - I think Madewell updates earlier than J.Crew. When I lived on the east coast, I would notice the site update around 4:30 or 5 am EST. However, I'm not sure if that's the case now since I'm in the mountain time zone, and don't get up that early to check it. Odds are that it's still about the same time though...they don't seem to vary too much from their normal schedule.

Also, I would suggest that you try calling one of the Madewell stores to see if they have the shoes. If not, the SA can check other stores for you to see if they're in stock any place else. Then you can do a charge/send if they find a pair for you. HTH! :)
