Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Just when I thought I was all shopped out I found myself buying the cashmere featherweight pocket tee, yet another pair of eaton boy pants (in grey this time) and the drapey drawstring pant in navy just now. Oh well...the justification is that they are great transitional pieces.

  2. I noticed price drops this AM on some items...

  3. Factory had a BUNCH of stuff added to clearance this morning - over 250 items as of 5:30am. Still extra 50% off!

  4. Madewell is offering an extra 40% off final sale styles until 7.14.14. There are a lot of promo-priced items that receive the discount, and I've updated the Madewell Promo-Priced items list with the new additions: See It Here. I've also included the new/recent markdowns at the end of the post. :)

    1. Thanks for this! While I prefer J. Crew for clothing, I do like Madewell's bags. This reminded me to check my wish list and, to my surprise, the Transport Tote in Navy (item a8097) is on sale for $139.50 + 40% off (online only). The item is sold out online but Madewell SF has some in stock and they were able to honor the sale price and the discount. Now, I'm done with both J. Crew and Madewell shopping :-)

  5. Anyone out there have recommendations on the sizing for the linen cargo pants? Many of the reviews on line say to go down two sizes but some say one. I am scared to go down two full sizes but don't want to order the wrong size as they are final sale. Thanks!

    1. I normally wear a 4 in JC pants and I was able to fit into a 0 (and I am NO where near a 0). I think I would have preferred a 2, but they didn't have it and I was too lazy to have my VPS order it since the 0 fit.

    2. Jess F, I just bought the green and the white yesterday in store. I was reluctant to get them online until I tried them. I went down by one size not two. That being said I am a bit curvier in the behind than the res of me. Not Kim Kardashian or anything like that -it's just where I carry a little bit extra. I would say definitely go one size down, and if you are very slim in the lower body, then you could potentially go two sizes. Not sure if that helps or not. I love the pants. Wearing them now. They are worth full price to me honestly as they will get a ton of wear.

    3. When in doubt I ask customer service for the measurements of the different sizes. Thatreally helps as you can then compare with your other clothes.

    4. and they will let you return it if it really doesn't fit after confirming the sizing with them! Just ask them to waive final sale...

    5. Unless you plan to iron them, I wouldn't bother with them. I wear an 8 in most J. Crew pants, bought these in a 6, and they look terrible from the back. The flaps on the back pockets don't lie flat and neither do the interior pockets themselves. I tried them on recently in a size 4 and they fit fine but still had the poochy butt problem. They're just not flattering pants if you don't keep them well ironed. Too high maintenance for me. I'm thinking about cutting the back pockets out and stitching down the back flaps. There would still be a bit too much fabric in the butt, but they are very comfortable and I like the style (and I'm stuck with them!) so I'll probably give it a try.

    6. Thanks for the input everyone! I always get too lazy to call and ask for measurements but it would be nice to get the dreaded final sale removed. I am more athletic and have larger thighs and butt so I am guessing one down might be the way to go for me. Thanks again!!

  6. I'm done shopping for summer now. Besides pop-backs of fall/winter items, I'll be sitting the rest of this out waiting for the new arrivals for fall. Hopefully we won't be disappointed.

    1. I'm right there with you. Hopefully they will do some super mark downs with the initial prices as things continue to sit into August. I wouldn't mind picking up some cashmere for the fall.

  7. CALIFORNIA POPPY BLOUSE
    item a7938
    Hi ladies,
I love this blouse and my B&M has a few left. Any thoughts on how far into the cooler seasons I could wear it from a looks standpoint. It's a silk blouse and I know silk is all-season, but is the pattern summery? Does it matter. Love the blouse but trying to justify the non-sale price.

    1. hi sunny,i tried the blouse in store and would say the print icould def be worn in the fall. It has a summery feel from the material though.

    2. Thanks Ina. Mine is the 100% silk version, not the silk cotton blend. So I am not so worried about the fabric being summery.

  8. I think I'm done but did see that the Icon Trench just went on promo online for $238 + an additional 40% off (for a total sale price of $142.80). Very surprising to see this staple on promo but it's great news for those folks already looking ahead to Fall.

    1. Is $142 a good price for this trench? Not sure how much it dropped to last year but I am considering buying!

    2. Hi Bella - I haven't ever seen it lower than $150. I have a 2010 version and it's great... even worth FP for how much I've worn it!

    3. Wow. Thanks for the tip. Not final sale either. I have wanted this trench for about a year, but only saw it full price. I have over-shopped now, but will make an exception as I don't have a trench or decent rain coat right now. I was as waiting for fall stock to hit the market before starting my hunt. But this is the one I've wanted forever. It is now affordable!

    4. Silver lining, or anyone with experience with the coat. Do I have to size up? The website comments have me concerned. Some say true to size, others say snug. I will wear things under it at times but I don't want the baggy look in the shoulders from going beyond my normal size.

    5. I took my schoolboy size and I can still wear a blazer under it.

    6. Thanks! Also the boyfriend fatigue jacket has gone on sale plus 40% off too for those who have been stalking that favorite.

    7. Greetings All - I suggest reading the reviews for the trench as many reviewers found it to be very fitted. I sized up to an 8 from my regular schoolboy size of 6 so I could wear more than a blouse underneath. Luckily, if it's not FS, you could purchase 2 sizes and still have the option to return the one that doesn't fit as well. Good luck! Jennifer

    8. P.S. It's a great deal for a great coat. I purchased mine when it was FP, but there was a 30% promotion to soften the price. I have not seen it marked down in the past year.

    9. Bought the coat! Sized up from my regular 0 to a 2. Hope it works out, but luckily not final sale! Thanks everyone for posting on it!~

  9. Has anyone tried the Cove Floral Bandeau Tank swimsuit? I'm not too sure about this one, if the print will be too busy in a swimsuit. What do you think?

  10. I stopped by my store today ad there was nothing i really wanted. The only thing I liked was the stripped Carrie cami. It ran true to size in case somebody wonders. I have reviews of the :
    - sunglasses print popover
    - tunic sweater
    - stripe back linen tank
    - chiffon back tank
    - Carrie cami
    - factory excursion vest in camo
on my blog. You can find the blogpost here .

I also received the feather paisley popover today. I highly recommend it !

  11. Just a note to whoever did the review of the sateen striped lace-up tee (item a4987): thank you! This person said to size up and I'm so glad I did. The top is adorable but I wouldn't be able to get it over my head otherwise. Just a note to all who are shopping final sale online.
