J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Rosie (in this post), D*ska & Autumn (in this post), as well as Irina, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website today (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).
The latest catalog (click here to view) is net yet available to view. However, they did change how you can view the catalog. (Similar to Madewell. A nice upgrade.)

More exciting news! J.Crew is offering free shipping with no minimum with promo code FREESHIP. This amazing offer expires Friday, March 23, 2011.

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Too bad final sale is still going on with this free ship promo:( AND to top it off all the accessories I click on say SORRY SOLD OUT! I would have risked a scarf or two or a couple of things if they were actually in stock. Now I remember why I stopped checking their online sales daily about a year ago!!! too frustrating to shop with them...no fun...

  2. Love the free shipping promo! There was a fairly large sale update with some popbacks, fyi.

I've found quite a number of items I'm interested in trying this rollout. Some are priced sky-high, which is disappointing, but not unexpected.

I'm excited to see the Lilibeth Sandal back in pretty bright colors. I hope the patent is comfortable enough though. And that snail bracelet is so cute!

  3. I second the happiness with seeing the Lilibeth sandals back. These are nice, I got them last year.

How on earth do you wear the new Ravenna high heels? Ankle twist city! Is this the new trend to not have anything on the back heel! They're now 4" thongs!

  4. I am on my kindle, so no hyperlink ability, but I did photograph a few images from the latest catalog on Tuesday. They are here: http://mysuperfluities.blogspot.com/2012/03/j-crew-april-2012-catalogstyle-guide.html.

Hopefully they get the catalogs back up...it's fab they want to try new things but not everyone is going to have an easy time figuring it out!

Found one popback this am, crossing fingers it ships properly!

  5. I was thinking of getting the Eyelet shell in chili to match my skirt (IDK but I think it would make a great dress). Plus a couple of those Perfect Linen shirts.

Also contemplating my ability to wear the pencil skirt in suede. I have the Blythe blouse in Bright Sun ( the supposed color of this skirt) and it is a truly bright yellow, a true bright sun. Suede is a notorious dirt collector. I can see myself constantly dry-cleaning this. But still, the curiousity is almost overwhelming...

But I didn't grab any newbies this morning. I perused the sale section and made my mom a very happy lady. I managed to wrangle her the Blouson dress in lace in the Old Lace color and the Carriage coat dress. She fell hard for those after seeing me in mine. Hope they ship and hope they fit!

  6. I posted links to 16 pieces from the new arrivals that I already reviewed on my blog. Check it out HERE. Hth.

  7. I am crazy about the Rococco top and will likely buy it today as I am putting this in the category of "things that I MUST have and don't mind paying ungodly amounts of money for..."

I am going back to check lillibet sandals!

off topic - I see they raised the price of the valentina slingbacks again- very confusing!

  8. It's gotten hot enough in GA that I'm shopped out as far as the new Spring items go. I'm going to wait for whatever they roll out for high Summer. The dresses are very pretty, but I've come to the conclusion that I'll have to shop somewhere else for dresses until J.Crew cuts it out with the odd ribcage waistbands. If we ever get a decent no-exceptions %-off promo again, I'll buy the Schoolboy Blazer in White Eyelet and the Invitation Clutch in cork (major cork jones over here).

Was more excited about the sale section...managed to score a few popbacks including the Navy Stone Sunflower bracelet and the Seine Stripe blouse (which has jumped out of my checkout cart TWICE in the past).

    1. You are stoked on the Seine...I have come so close as it has jumped out of my cart a couple of times too. I have been stalking it forever. What size did you grab? Any chance it's a 12 or 14 and it doesn't work for you... :)

      Delete
    2. Haha, we could start a "Sisterhood of the Traveling Blouse"! I see it on Ebay every now and then, but never in my size. Now that I have it, I can stop stalking the sale section after every new rollout ;)

    3. Oh, and I got a size 8. It was the only popback size available...I hope it doesn't show up picked/stained/smelly/covered in hair.

  9. I love the Oxford Stripe bikinis, but there's no way either of the tops will work for me as a 32D. I hate that they make so many swim tops with a hook back.. I need full ajustability for support!

  10. Just posted a link of the new Jcrew Café capri in foulard and Lack Necklace Tee on my blog megancrewreviews.blogspot.com

I like a couple items from the new roll out including:
Pleated jardin skirt in delicious apple
    Hilary dress
    Stripe dolman-sleeve tee
    Rococo shell
    Popover in cerise ikat

but there isn't anything I HAVE to have now, I'll do the sale watch thing....

  11. The Jacquard Dot Pencil Skirt looks pretty cute. That is all I found to like in this rollout.

    1. I really like it too, but I'm slightly bothered by the back view (the mismatched polka dots sets off my OCD tendencies).

      Delete
    2. That should be "set off", not "sets off".

      Delete
    3. The Jacquard Dot Pencil Skirt is 66% wool and 34% Polyester. The lining is 100% acetate.

      Delete
    4. Caitlin, I don't like that either but sometimes the one that you get is different and I always hope they will match up a bit better. At least it's tonal and not mis-matched colors.

ajc, thanks for the info! It looks like the dots may be the poly portion, sewn onto wool. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic. ;^) I think I'm going to order it anyway.

  12. I loved the Gondola Stripe Top (will have pics later this week). I fitted into a size 0, so one size smaller than my normal size.

Also love the mini delicious apple top and bottom.

  13. Not a new arrival, but I'm considering biting on the Downtown Field Jacket (at full price!! :( ) Can anyone comment on the sizing of the jacket? I typically get a 4 in blazers & coats (although they're a bit loose), so not sure if I should get an XS or S for the field, depending how boxy or roomy it is. Can anyone advise?
    TIA!!

    Replies
    1. I am almost always a 2 in blazers and coats, a 4 in the Stadium Cloth Boulevard Trench, and I have the Downtown Field Jacket in an XS. It fits perfectly through the shoulders and has a bit of extra room through the body. I think an XS should be fine for you unless you have very broad shoulders. HTH!

      Delete
    2. Thanks Caitlin! Actually, I do happen to have super broad shoulders so I think I'll go with the S. Whew, I'd been mulling this over for DAYS! You're a lifesaver! :)

  14. Nothing I have to have. Really cute stuff though. The apple print jardin skirt is adorable but I wish the apples were smaller!

I have pics/reviews of a few new arrivals (Tippi in orchard print, Gondola stripe tee, linen dot pullover) here.

    1. Apple print jardin reminds me of Mini Boden, I would swear they had something very similar for girls some time ago. Dina?

      Delete
    2. Yes, they do - my daughter has apple print pants and skirt (and I'm sure there was/is a similar dress :)

      Delete
    3. Hey! :) I need to go back to some older mini Boden catalogs I have (my daughter loves these catalogs, lol) and see what I can find. Definitely very Boden-esque, agreed.

lwaldal--do you know when you got them for your daughter?

      Delete
    4. probably last winter or summer. she has some apple print cords or velvet pants and a cotton skirt. They have a blue apple print skort this season for girls http://www.bodenusa.com/en-US/Girls-Skirts/32407-BLU/Girls-Bluebell-Apple-Slice-Jersey-Skort.html

  15. I visited my local B&M last night and picked up the Gondola Stripe Tee and the boatneck stripe popover in apricot navy was finally on sale in the store (59.00). Saw the apple shorts in person and they are cute but wished they came in a little longer length. I love the polka dot skirt...to me, this is one that is classic and perfect for a long time.I also like the tessellate necklace in green...very pretty!

  16. Admittedly I have fallen off the crew wagon entirely. I can't remember the last time I checked the website and I was in the store last w full month ago. To make a return. So maybe this is old news, but how do they have the savvy to install a pin it button on the item pages (which is awesome, not knocking it!) and STILL have no wishlist?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am really ticked off by the way they present their skirts length. Both painted rope and gondola stripe skirts are listed as 21" long, but on the models they are knee length. I hate when they do that. If they think this looks better why didn't they make it this way?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Totally agree. They shouldn't even use models if that's how they want to play it.

  18. I got the Pyramid Stretch Bracelet (pink & peach enamel) about 2 weeks ago and it was already on sale for 14.99 (or was it 15.99). But anyway, if anyone is interested in it, check out their b&m first!

  19. Somewhat OT, I really love the look of this belt, the saddle belt item #62073, has anyone reviewed or seen this? It says meant to be worn at the waist so size up if you want to wear it lower. I usually always buy s/m or medium and add holes I hate small belts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. THANKS

  20. ajc, I'm totally with you on the skirt lengths. My heart sinks when I see one I like, then I go to the product description and see how short it is IRL.

OT, I popped into the store over lunch. The $350 fresco floral peplum top has been marked down to $199.99, and the matching capris are also marked down to that price. Still pretty high; they'll probably make it to a second mark down.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Cass - can you tell me what store you saw the peplum top for $199? Of course, my PS wants to play the price match game by claiming that she can't do it unless that PS tells her the price. TIA!

      Delete
    2. Same here.... where did you see those prices?? Thanks!

    3. Milljcrew - I ended up calling the NYC Collection Store on Madison (212-249-3869). They didn't have any sizes left but the SA looked the peplum top up at other collection stores and sent me one for that price - and not final sale!

  21. Very excited for free shipping - exactly the incentive I needed to try out a couple of new things! The reason for my post, though, is that I just noticed that my beloved Tippi sweater in orchard print (I call them cherries but there's been debate amongst my friends and coworkers as to whether they're apples or tomatoes) has finally hit the website and looks nothing like it does IRL! So I am writing to say that if you order this sweater expecting a cream sweater with a peach polka dot-like print as it appears in the photo, that's not at all what you're going to receive. It is in fact a light beige with some kind of adorable fruit print in the decadent red color. Hope this helps someone!

  22. I think the straw Brompton mini-hobo is fabulous. I must have it. I ordered the chambray top that ajc has and the snail bracelet. How cute is that.
Nice that we have free ship!

  23. Has anyone seen the bellflower earrings IRL? I'm kinda in love with them online. Also kinda love the cactus flower necklace as it reminds me a bit of the Prada necklace I am obsessed with at the moment (the one with big flowers that's in virtually every magazine this month and, as expected, is way out of my budget at $1,950).

Also, after checking out all of the new arrivals since I've been avoiding the JC website lately so as not to tempt myself, I have discovered that the fruit print on my Tippi sweater is apples!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Regarding the Tippi in orchard print, the color name is "bright persimmon" while the copy states "spun in soft merino wool in a delicious apple print ". Persimmons, apples and merino wool make so much sense for spring item. Okay, being in SFBay, I do wear merino wool year round, but apples and persimmons? LOL.

    1. Yes I agree. This would be a great fall roll out item. I wouldn't wear it now even in very warm NC.

  25. Most of this new rollout was in stores last week, so I've seen a lot of it. I love the polka dot #2, but wish they'd done a better job of lining up the seams. I do already have the big shot polka dot skirt, so I don't need another. I would love the get the contrast linen baseball tee in navy on sale. It's comfy, surprisingly flattering, and cute. Sheer, though. :( I do think a bright cami underneath would be cute. I'm curious about the colorblock-stripe slash henley. Also curious about the chambray top. As a math teacher, I love the tesselate necklace, but I'd rather it come in a different color that goes with more in my closet.

    1. math teacher, I am returning the linen tees I bought. They are so very sheer that I am concerned they will fall apart quickly. I bought the baseball in grape and the v-neck in grape and white and they are all going back. I wouldn't buy these even on super-sale because they are just so incredibly flimsy. I hope the contrast tee works out for you if you get it.

  26. I preordered the bureau skirt in navy. I hope it's a keeper. I am considering the navy dot skirt too. I don't need two navy skirts so I will be interested in the feedback of those of you ordering the jacquard dot skirt.

  27. I have the rococo shell... picked it up at the clearance store about a month ago. It is very well made and very cute. Reminds me of old school J.Crew. I think it runs TTS.

  28. Dara - I asked the online chat person about the Bellflower earrings. This is the email response I received: "Bellflower Earrings, item 84987. After researching your questions, she found that these earrings measure 1.25 inches in length and 1 inch at the widest point. This earring is fairly light, but not necessarily suitable for everyday wear."

I think these are lovely, but may be too large for me. Let us know if you try them. I'd love to hear what you think.
