This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Yes! I will so I can make a return and browse the 30% off. :3
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
ReplyDeletesub :)
No trip for me this weekend - I may actually go back to the Tal's outlet to see if they have any more 75% deals that I can't live without. :)

ReplyDeleteDid anyone notice any colors of the Waverly chinos or the gingham Scout chinos on sale in stores?
ReplyDeleteThe sycamore color of the Waverlys were also on sale.
ReplyDeleteI got a Katie Colorblock cami (Provence Pink color) for $13.99 and the downtown skinnies in the light wash for $13.99 as well. Yippee!
CaptainCrew, the gingham were not on sale, not sure about the other colors but I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteI did a return the other day and a SA told me new items were arriving today and next week. But I'm doing my best to stay out of the store for a while. I have other non JC items on my radar at the moment!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm going to Woodfield IL store for a return and will scan the sale again. The merch gets very picked-over and shopworn after a couple days of extra % off, but I'm always hoping for a great find in my size!
ReplyDeleteThey had a few Silk Pocket Tees, Shawl Collar Sweaters, and Side Zip Sweaters for 19.99 and the Lace Stripe Tees for 9.99 on Wed, no gingham shirts as I recall, but a rack full of dresses and quite a bit of jewelry.
Oh yes indeed, to scour the sale racks and poke around for deals.
ReplyDeleteThere was a decent sale update overnight, so I was able to grab a few things I'd been looking out for, including the double-serge pencil skirt in bright dahlia (8p instead of 8, oh well) and a stadium-cloth coat in Warm Taupe for about $50 after discount(!).
I have no confidence at all that everything will ship, but we shall see.
Aside from that, as usual I'm 100 days late and $50 short, but I received the tangled treasure necklace in the mail yesterday (eBay win) and wow, do I love it. I never thought it would be for me, but I took a chance and am so glad I did. I think I'll be wearing it a lot.
On the downside, a necklace I bought from another seller arrived and sure enough, it's a factory piece of crap without having been disclosed as such. Very glad I didn't spend much on it. I could tell from the weight of the box that it wasn't a retail piece, urgh. Nice that it's lighter weight but the quality I'm used to with the retail jewelry (relatively speaking, of course) just isn't there. Grrrr.
probably not, visited the newly redone 5th Avenue Flagship late yesterday, discussion here
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can report back on the new release of the Jericho tote in terms of leather quality, I would LOVE to hear about that! Also, what your favorite color is in this version. I'm leaning toward the black.
ReplyDeleteThank you :-D
no! i've maxxed out my jcrew card!!
ReplyDeleteElaine: that should be grounds for a return! The seller was not honest with their item description. You should contact the seller and express your concern. Maybe they will offer a refund or at least a discount since you didn't get as valuable of an item.
ReplyDelete@OperaRach & Ema - thanks! Was hoping the navy waverly would be on sale in stores since it is online but of course we cannot expect jcrew to be consistent now can we?
ReplyDeleteIs everyone's store having 30% off?
ReplyDeleteOT- Can anyone who has tried the Carrie Crochet Sweater comment about the fit & quality?
ReplyDeleteTIA!!!
I agree, Appgal, but for the time and hassle it would take to return it, it's not even worth it. :/ What really made me mad was when I tried it on, several of the 'chain' pieces (I believe it's the factory version of the chained-up pearl necklace) un-looped and just sat there looking like mistakes. So there I went, clipping them with manicure scissors until it looked presentable. URGH.
ReplyDeleteAgain, the *look* of the necklace is pretty, but knowing it's 100% plastic bugs me!
mommydearest: My local store was offering an additional 30% off the sale items. The SA was very clear that it would make the items final sale. (Which I don't mind honestly). Hope this helps! :)
ReplyDeleteI popped in yesterday for a return and to check out the sale section. Dinster has posted most of the markdowns. I posted some pics of the Aged Driftwood Schoolboy ($70 with the 30% off discount), the Herringbone Cargo Dress, Ribbon Cami, and Springlily Liberty Cardi here.
ReplyDeleteI just left J. Crew and MARKDOWNS are 30% off and all FULL PRICE are 20% off--so WORTH IT TO PHYSICALLY GO IN THE STORE AND HAVE A NICE SPRING FLING THIS WEEKEND!!!
ReplyDeleteCaptain Crew--the Waverly Chinos were on SALE for 39.99 than an additional 30% off in the store!!! I got them in the Cinnnamon color!
ReplyDeleteRound up of in-store price notes in this post. The lower in-store prices make me want to visit, but I don't think I'd find anything I have to have.
ReplyDeleteI happened to pop into the Rockefeller Ctr store and it was pretty crazy in there with the additional 30% off. I found the citrus plaid perfect shirt I'd wanted on sale (yay!) but most of the merch just seemed sooooo thin material-wise. And in many cases, product looked so poorly made that I ended up passing many of the things I'd eyed online and in the catalog.
ReplyDeleteBut I did overhear that the stuff has to go as new merchandise is coming in next week (someone else heard that too) so ......
No, their line for the past couple months is SO BORING and uninspiring, I haven't bought much at all. Even their jewelry case is sparse.
ReplyDeleteCharlotteSometimes, I agree that things have been sparse lately, it seems there isn't much new or exciting. I was really anticipating the visit to a B&M but wasn't thrilled when I got there since a lot of the inventory seemed so familiar and was not on my "must try" list. I did pick up the No.2 pencil skirt in black (my third color), a neon pink vintage cotton v-neck tee and a few other basics. My PS has been super helpful so I have ordered and received most of what I wanted from the recent rollouts already.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to a store tomorrow and will report back if there is anything of interest. Maybe even take some photos if I'm feeling brave.
I'll be going to the Crewlet in Vacaville tomorrow; slightly scared and excited! Hopefully I won't get carried away since I just bought the Sawyer purse and the Lula spiked flats :/.
ReplyDeleteThe B&M at Boca Town Center Mall is having addt'l 30% off sale.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of Jackies in a pretty green and also grey for 39.99. The silk pocket tee is marked down to 19.99. I snagged it in the pale blossom along with the lunette mini in melon.
Also lots of finespun scoopnecks in lots of colors & sizes. A couple of aurora tweed pencil skirts in 0 and 2, I think. Overall, not a bad assortment.
One of the SAs said new arrivals next week! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the petal midi skirt because I am in looove.
Happy weekend to all the JCAs!
I feel like asking some of you to shop for me. :) I'd not only pay for the items and shipping, of course, I'd pay a finder's fee too. Like $30 per item. There are three things I want. Any takers?? If you found all three, you'd make an instant $90. In fact, I'd jack it up to $100 just to do one transaction. Yes I am an addict! This much has been established. :)
ReplyDeleteOh heck, I just realized.... normally I don't drive because I live in downtown Chicago and my car is in storage, that's why I never go to the stores. But I'm renting a car to visit my parents, I could conceivably visit a store or outlet. I should plan this out. I guess it means I have to take my notebook with me so I can also log on and check for updates. :) I want those items so badly. Here's what would make my life complete:
ReplyDeleteBritten black 7 extended calf
Silk Safari weathered wood 14 or 12
Velvet Ruby weathered wood 12 tall
Wendy: I tried on the Carrie crochet in the pink/buff color a few weeks ago and the fit is extremely boxy! May run a tad big, I tried on my usual 0 in it. The quality is fine but the sweater itself felt a bit heavy. It hit a little below my waist which was awkward because I prefer for things to either be completely cropped or not. Overall I don't think it is flattering enough for the price~even on sale. I personally would only get it if it were to be marked down even further. HTH!
ReplyDeleteAdvantages to having a husband and puppy who both snore and keep me up at night--caught 2 things I have been stalking on popback just now! Crossing my fingers that they ship. The sorbetto pencil skirt I ordered on Thursday just shipped out yesterday, woo!
ReplyDeleteJust bit on the denim pencil skirt because I've been wanting one forever. I really need a casual one, too, but they always seem to bunch up in an awkward way in the front, making it look like I have a pooch when I don't.
ReplyDeleteNeed to get into the store and see if the maxi check perfect shirt is also marked down and 30% off like I saw online today. Gingham vintage schoolboy shirt is also cheaper today than I remember.
The question now is do I go to Easton or Polaris? The latter is closer but usually has a smaller sale section.
Anyone know how much the Liberty perfect shirts (wildbloom or spring lily) are in the stores? Will try to stop by one this weekend. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTough call...can someone help. Are the platforms, peep toes etc. running TTS this year? TIA!
ReplyDelete(Yes, I am ordering a FS shoe without trying them on...hole in the head)
Wendy - I bought the Carrie Crochet, I had my eye on it for a while and I love it! I got a small, my usual size and it was a little roomie. I sort of wish I could have tried the XS but it was final sale. If you want it a little tighter I might size down. But regardless I will be wearing a lot and would even like to get the other color if I can!
ReplyDeleteThe email today says new arrivals to sale and I noticed a couple of dresses and added skirts. If you make it to a brick and mortar store please post if anything is marked down that isn't reflected online! Holla!!
ReplyDeletepathos, I have many of the J Crew platform shoes. For most other brands I take a 6.5 for a closed toe or peep toe and sometimes a 6 for a sandal. For J Crew I've been doing 6.5 for the peep toes and sandals (Gibson) and 7 for the closed toes. So in general I'm doing 1/2 size up compared to other brands. Let me know if you want more details.
ReplyDeleteForgot to add, I snagged the pointelle short this morning in orange, size small. Can anyone comment on the quality and fit of this item? I found it popped back this morning!
ReplyDeleteBTW pathos, I don't think you're crazy for buying shoes on final sale. I've done the same thing several times, never been disappointed though I did need to get replacement Odeons due to a defect in the first pair I received. All others were fabulous and all but a couple appeared fresh from the factory, not returns.
ReplyDeleteThe Collins is an exception deal, only $91 with the promo.
Thanks so much Tippi & Sara. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteTamara-thank you !!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gamble, but I am ALWAYS a 7.5 in shoes and 37 in Euro. So my hunch is to get 7.5 in the peep toes. I would rather have them too tight than too big.
BTW I am looking at the Collins and would love your feedback if you have seen the colors IRL ? Have a great day! KT

ReplyDelete(edited post, refined my mink description)
ReplyDeletepathos, I have the leather Collins only. I have both mink and tawny orange. The mink is a very beautiful neutral medium/darkish brown color, very very nice, highly recommended. The tawny orange is very clay-like, very much like the provence pink Jenna cardigan but a little more vivid. It's not as pale as it appears on some monitors. It's a nice color but obviously not as versatile as the brown. I have not seen the suede colors in person.
Audrey, the Liberty Perfect Shirts are 89.99 in my B&M. When did those things get so gosh darn $$$ anyway?
ReplyDeleteThe longer this sale goes on the less interested I am. I've been stalking another pair of troupers and then found them in my B&M only to try them on and decide I didn't need another pair of pants that were skinny even if they were only $13.99. Hope the new items coming are intriguing...
ReplyDeleteOk now I have to join in this conversation :) I now think I need the collins suede platform peep toes. Can't decide between the black and the mossy oak...any suggestions? I wear an 8.5 and the peep toe shoes seem to run slightly small on my right foot (bigger foot) Also, pretty sure I need a pair of the Mara suede wedges. Can anyone comment on the rose dust color and the fit? It looks more pink than brown which is what I am looking for :) Thanks in advance JCA's!
ReplyDeleteStene, funny that you are mentioning the mossy oak Collins. I just had an epiphany, after repeatedly rejecting the suede Collins (I had been focusing on the aged driftwood color) I saw a Spring 2011 image of the mossy oaks and was reminded how pretty the color is (it's the same as the Odeons) and how it can act as a neutral. So I'm getting them.
ReplyDeleteJust want to mention here as I did in another post that the curry Jenna cardigan is as close to an exact match to the mossy oak suede shoes as you can imagine.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a review of the Odeon sandals? They went on sale today and I'm tempted but can't decide on which colour. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteTamara - Thanks for pushing me over...now I must get them :)
ReplyDeleteI still would love any feedback on the rose dust color for the Mara wedges. I might hold off till tomorrow morning (update?) for the purchase...and pray everything is still available. Also, if anyone is interested, the sperry website has some amazing bright yellow and purple patent boat shoes on sale ($59.99). I couldn't keep this to myself as I am about to purchase the purple ones :)
I just noticed in that Spring 2011 image I linked to the model has a mossy oak-like clutch. I know some people think it's old fashioned to match shoe and purse color, but I don't, especially when the shoe is a color that isn't found anywhere else in the outfit. I love that outfit, and I love the jacket except the length. The mossy oak works really well with tan, cream, and grey.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Mara Suede Wedges in their store? Preferably a size 9? Can anyone comment on how these fit? TIA!

ReplyDeleteThanks, ruffles_crew! Wanted to check if there was an online/B&M difference just in case I can't go to a store this weekend. I do love many of the Liberty fabric J. Crew shirts and have bought a few over the years, but the FP on the shirts this release was crazy!
ReplyDeleteWent to the Houston Galleria location yesterday and picked up a pair of Downtown Skinnies for $11, three pairs of men's camp socks for $6 each (love these socks for winter), several pairs of women's socks for $2 each and a couple pair of boxers with a cute golden retriever pattern for $6 each. Also bought another pair of waverly chinos, a Jackie in periwinkle and a jaspe-like sweatshirt for my husband, all at full price. The sale section was fairly small and picked over although there were a lot of lace-stripe and finespun tees and several different drab-looking sweaters that I did not recognized but they were really shopworn. Sorry, I'm not much help.
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned that lately the clothes seem very thin and not so well-made and I have to agree, nothing much was catching my eye other than the basics. I "felt up" a few things and was quite disappointed.
If anyone finds/sees a Letour Floral Lucinda Dress (in the purple flower pattern) in a size 0 in their local store sale section, let me know (erikareid1@yahoo.com). I received the dress as a birthday present but it's a size too big and all the stores in my area are sold out.
ReplyDeleteErika, I was at the Ft. Lauderdale Galleria store yesterday and they had several of the Lucinda dresses. I didn't check the sizes as it's not my style, but there were probably six or seven dresses, and I believe they were marked down to $39.99 (maybe even cheaper).
ReplyDeletepathos, I bought the Noelle booties on FS and they fitted so well, I got all the others that looked similary: Bronson, Martine & Corrine.
