Let me begin by stating I have only created such a post a few times before, for extreme cases. Please refer to the "Can you create a dedicated post to help me find it?" section in the "FAQ {about the JCA Blog}" post for my normal position on this.
A fellow JCA has been devotedly searching for the J.Crew Wool Oxford Jacket (Item 88574; $285.00) in either color shown above in size 2 (size 0 or 4 could work too). This jacket came out in Fall 2007. If you can help her out, please send an email directly to: jcrew_gal at yahoo dot com
If you have one in your closet that no longer fits or don't wear anymore, maybe you could consider selling it and making one sad JCA very happy. :)
Mini-Update: Thank you for all your help! It seems like the search is {happily} over! :)
I feel sad that I can't help this JCA with that gorgeous jacket. I hope someone can. Sadly I didn't buy much that year I sure wish I had!
ReplyDeleteOur community here is amazing. A fellow JCA found my own coveted item (after I posted a comment on "looking to find"), the Emma Peacock dress, at a clearance centre in NC. She arranged to have it purchased by her Mom and they are mailing it to me up in Canada, can you believe it? How kind and generous is that?
Thanks Alexis for your fabulous blog.
DaniBP: That story of yours is uh-mazing! Loves it! I also love how helpful our community can be. I too hope she finds this jacket. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the oxford jacket - I too have coveted that piece and completely regret not having snagged it in both colors at full price! What a unique blazer - and it never pops up on Ebay either! Good luck!

ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty! I'd add that if anyone has it in a sz. 12, let me know!! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh do I know what it's like to have a passion for a garment and not be able to find it! Currently going through this myself.

ReplyDeleteWhat has this blog done to me?
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here hoping that I'll find out whether a complete stranger finds an item of clothing from 2007.
Seriously, JCrew Gal, I hope you find it!
Lisa: I know! I rarely see it on eBay (or at least in my size). ;)
ReplyDeleteJruby18: I saw a size 12 for sale a few weeks ago and in less than an hour it was sold. They go quick! :)
Tamara: Isn't it the worst! I hate that feeling of missing out and desperately wanting it.
JCK: Me too! Which is why I think our community is so awesome- because we care. :) The last I heard, no one has a jacket to sell. :( Hopefully someone who doesn't need theirs has one to sell. :)
Sadly I don't have one or I'd gladly give it up. I'll keep my eyes peeled during my eBay travels! :) I have also acquired several of my must-haves via the JCA community, which is so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAlexis, did you see it on Ebay? How'd I miss it?!
ReplyDeleteElaine: Happy to hear the JCA community was able to help you out! :)
ReplyDeleteJruby18: It was on eBay and it was the orange one. I remember it was NWT and was with a BIN for $150. If it was close to my size, I would have snatched it up myself! ;)
Sorry, while I do not have a size 2 or 4, I am willing to part with the orange one in a size 8 ($150 plus shipping). It doesn’t have the tags but has not been worn – still has the original closed stitching on the two back flaps. If interested, contact me at jcrewfashionable at gmail dot com.
ReplyDeleteI believe the coat appeared on Gossip Girl –worn by Blair in the orange color.
Echoing previous comments - wish I would have bought more that year. If you can find it anywhere - this is the place. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteSubscribing. :)
ReplyDeleteI too have been searching and searching and searching for this one (also in a 2 or 4) and missed it on ebay a few months ago. I couldnt get recption to up my bid on my phone :( this one from express while not exactly the same could be a sub

Wow seems like lots of us have been watching for it on Ebay! Agree with others, I totally regret not buying more that season.
ReplyDeleteBtw, slightly off topic but has anyone ever gotten a blazer altered down to a substantially (down 4-6 sizes) smaller size? I came across one of my looking to find items awhile ago and keep wondering if I could have made it work!
I hope our JCA finds this jacket... it's gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Count me as another looking for this jacket. Why hasn't J.Crew reintroduce it in their "back by popular demand" section yet!?! ;)
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, still no jacket for sale. But hopefully someone out there who doesn't need theirs can help out. :)
Tippy: From my limited knowledge about sizing down- the waist is easy, the shoulders can be fine, but sleeves can be an issue.
To Alexis and the JCA community...*Thank you so much*
ReplyDeleteI have been an avid fan/collector since 96'. However it seems that some of the best pieces were released during 2007-2008. Which coincided with a period in my life when I was too preoccupied to really appreciate or purchase much of them. I recently discovered this blog during my renewed pursuit and I am truly grateful. It has helped to rekindle my "love affair" and enabled me to acquire some rare beauties.
Again Thank you soo much…:)
you never know what you will find, either through this community or sleuthing consignment/thrift shops. this weekend at beacon's closet, i scored the candy tweed dress from spring '08. looks like it was never worn, and tags still attached! now i can cross another off the list.

ReplyDeleteJenna made the news!
Christy,
ReplyDeleteI would hardly call that FOXNoise diatribe "news."
oh noes! nail polish gives boys teh ghey! *eyeroll*
Christy - thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteBoys in sundresses. I'm sure one would find that totally normal.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the day when the boys will achieve "a look borrowed from the girls".
Jenna has already said she doesn't spend enough time with little Beckett, so maybe this is how she chooses to make up for lost time...by turning it into a ad campaign for j.confusion.
oh, that's right, Jenna should be raising a little war machine frat boy douchebag in training.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what our society would look like with a little less gender stratification... perhaps equal pay for equal work? Fewer rapes? Less war? But let's focus on "boys in sundresses," because that is totally rational.
I'm not really sure I understand what point you're driving at, but I'm sure most would agree that the mommas that raised the men in our own lives aren't douchebags that are interested in war, rapes and all the disgusting extremetiiss you're leaning towards.
ReplyDeleteAnd I for one am proud of the those who serve in the military to keep you and I safe, especially in your world of rainbows and free love.
my world of "rainbows and free love"... well, I didn't grow up in the 60s, nor am I gay, so I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean. :)
ReplyDeleteHave never commented before but when I saw the blazer for sale in a 2 on another blog I read, the Laws of General Economy, I knew I had to pass it along.
ReplyDeletehttp://thegeneraleconomy.blogspot.com/2011/04/wool-jcrew-blazer-size-2.html
I'm not sure if anyone is still following this post, but I'm looking for this jacket as well in the liberty blue and bright flame colorways in a size 4 or 6, or possibly an 8. Please let me know if you would be will to sell (or trade) or yours. Thanks!

Is anyone here? :) I know this post is kindof dated, but I'd like to find this in a 6 or 8 and maybe a 4. Either color would be wonderful. msprissusc at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if anyone is still looking for this blazer, but I stumbled across a 4 in bright flame on Poshmark (not my listing!):
