Happy Easter & Passover! {celebrating w/ J.Crew?}
"Thanks!" to Lynne (in this post) who suggested running a "Celebrating with J.Crew" post for today.
I know I have mentioned this before, but I l-o-v-e these posts. It is really interesting to hear what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing, since it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits. So for this post, what we are planning to wear for Easter & Passover? :)
Since it is still pretty cold where I live, I need something to keep me warm. So I plan on breaking on the Lexington Jacket in purple. It is the perfect weight wool to keep me comfortable. And the color is a such a rich candy color shade, perfect for Easter!
What are you planning to wear this Easter & Passover? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

It's still pretty cold here (29 this morning, eek!) so I'm not sure what I'll be wearing yet. I'll share my outfit from yesterday 'cause it felt springy.
ReplyDeleteDrapey stripe tank, navy/ivory
Perfect-fit mixed-tape cardigan, cerise
LE wide-leg chinos, navy
Juliet midheels, twig
Skinny leather belt, brown
That cerise color is something else! But fun.
Happy Easter and Passover, JCA's!
It's going to be chilly and wet for us, so alas, I can't pull out my Vintage Violet. I'm going to wear my pink Lexington to an egg hunt tomorrow. Sunday I'll be wearing a mix of J.Crew (eyelet shirt, Juliet heels, green bee necklace) and Talbots (Tulieries or Belle Flower skirt and Faille Jacket).
ReplyDeleteIf the weather cooperates, I'll be wearing a 1940's grey & orange cotton blazer, coral pink silk shell, and J.Crew Eyelet Shorts in grey.
ReplyDeleteIt's with mixed feelings that I report we have absolutely no plans whatsoever for the weekend, so alas, I need no special outfit.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm lucky, I'll get some time to work in the yard, get my sunflower seeds sown, etc. :)
I am wearing my new J.Crew denim pencil skirt (love this, and got it on super sale to boot) with a new blouse- I do not know the name, but it is blue and white pin-striped, sleeveless, and the front is covered in clear sequins. It buttons up the front but also ties at the top with a little white bow. It looks so cute tucked into the skirt. I am wearing a bright yellow Jackie over that- the Jackie is from years ago- and everything will be belted with an elastic belt I got from H&M; the closure to the belt is two brass birds hooked together. I will probably finish this off with some navy footless tights and some high heeled, open toed, black ankle booties. Happy Spring Holidays to you all!
ReplyDeleteforgot to sub :)
ReplyDeleteI had planned to wear the surf tweed mini that I have just bought from a fellow JCA with a cashmere sweater for Easter brunch but it looks like it is going to rain (boo!) so it will probably be my jeans uniform and my ruffled collar trench from Spring 09.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter everyone!
Eyelet School Boy Blazer in Smoky Graphite
ReplyDeleteMinnies in Coal
Drapey Stripe Tank
Shoes TBD
We'll also be at home. Making mini pizzas & maybe dyeing eggs. I'm sure my Williams Sonoma apron will be covering whatever it is I choose.
ReplyDeleteI see some cute outfits in JCAland!
We're going out to brunch with my parents, so I'm hoping to sport the lovely Talbots daisy skirt I picked up today made casual with a chambray shirt. Most likely my accessories will be J.Crew.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be wearing J Crew! Theatre on Saturday with our daughters: navy wool suiting dress with navy jacquard coat (2007?), dinner Saturday night : Emma Peacock dress with black tights and heels (a fellow JCA bought the Emma for me at the Clearance Store and sent it to me, JCA's are the best!) and Easter Sunday Brunch: black pleated tuxedo skirt (2004!) with the Tulip cami in bronzed olive and the Dauphine tweed jacket from last year.
ReplyDeleteI wish everyone a happy and fun weekend.
I had planned to wear my newly acquired bright dahlia pencil skirt but just pulled it out to pack and lo and behold - the size 6 I had ordered is actually a size 4. The inside tag is a 4 with the paper hang tag is size 6.
ReplyDeleteJCrew final sale you got me :(
Nicole I love the Talbots Daisy Skirt! Great outfit!

ReplyDeleteNicole,
ReplyDeleteYour outfit sounds amazing. I would love to get to a store and try on that skirt but too busy right now with family for Easter weekend;)
It will be very warm in the mid 80's. I will be wearing an oldie but goodie JCrew silk sundress in navy blue.
Thanks so much for the ideas! It is raining/snowing here, so thought of wearing a sundress for Easter seems like a happy dream! My daughter probably will though, the Crewcuts waterfloral pastiche maybe with leggings and a cardi and a coat! Always more fun to dress her since everything looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteAre there any Crewcuts blogs out there like this? I have been reading this blog for 3 years now BTW! Love it- so helpful and fun- thanks for doing this!
Have a great weekend with family!
WOW! I didn't know the Lexington came in that deliciously divine PURPLE!!! You are sooo lucky! Happy Easter/Spring! Luve your BLOG!
ReplyDeleteHubby and I are taking our boys to church today (Sat). I'm wearing my white Shelby dress with my JC look-alike peacock heels from Nine West. Shoutout to Audrybella-I love these heels. Tomorrow I'm taking the family to visit my father in law. I'm debating between my new anthro Around the Maypole dress or jeans and a JCrew cami. Father in law is quite ill and so I'll be mostly trying to entertain the boys on the grounds of the nursing home.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies for the off-topic post - Has anyone seen this yet? Pictures of J.Crew F/W 2011!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter everybody!
I've got to put in a plug for the merino stripe confetti sweater dress, now in spring sale section of the website for $89.99. I paid full price (minus teacher discount at least...) for this dress and am very happy with the purchase. I wore it last night to a party that was neither passover or Easter related but it WAS one of those those tricky spring events where you want to wear a festive dress but not freeze! My long sleeves kept me toasty during the outdoor cocktails while my friends froze. I got lots of compliments on the dress (I sized up because my normal medium was just too mini in length) and didn't have to hide my outfit under a pashmina like I normally do in these situations.
ReplyDeleteNo JCrew for me this Easter, I'm wearing a RL Blue Label black ribbed long dress that I bought for $104 during their Japan relief sale with a white cable cashmere long cardi also from RL. JCrew's dresses are not for me, sorry :(
ReplyDeleteOn Saturday, I wore the toothpick riding pants in dark forest that I bought last fall and a black asymmetrical MaxStudio top and black BCBG peep-toe heels to an outdoor party in the Chicago area (I should have forgone the heels as they kept sinking into the wet ground!). On Easter Sunday, the only JC I wore were crocheted grey tights with a DVF print dress and black wooden platforms that I got in Paris last summer.
