This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.
Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)
Subscribing. :)

ReplyDeleteI just received a Jackie cardigan in cerise and was curious how to wear it for spring. I am reluctant to wear this color with another color, but don't want to resort to a black bottom, already hot here!
ReplyDeleteCan I wear it with white eyelet maybe?

ReplyDeleteHi Carol - I got the cerise mixed-tape cardigan and wore it with navy wide-leg chinos and the drapey stripe tank (navy and ivory) underneath. Got a lot of compliments on the cerise color - it really is unexpected! I'd definitely try it with eyelet.
ReplyDeletehi Carol -- I think cerise looks great with yellow or navy
ReplyDeletevery cute!
any help with the Delaney eyelet-trim shirt would be appreciated! i was thinking of wearing it with a cardigan (i have the white delaney). any other ideas? thanks!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with cerise and navy. And you could do medium grey or tan/beige too, or a print bottom.
ReplyDeletewith a print bottom
with tan
ditto
with aged pearl Garden skirt

carol - Pic of the cerise w/navy/wht stripes in this post. I have the cerise Jackie and haven't found it for some reason. When I *do*, I'm going to try it w/something in the agate color. If that doesn't work, I'll try something in turquoise.
ReplyDeleteWhat is everyone wearing with the new Casbah print?
ReplyDelete@carol, I just saw Tim Gunn's advice on poppy spring colors-- he said CAMEL was the way to go. a darkish version though. steer clear from black-- that's too halloween!
ReplyDeleteA bit OT:
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a nice mid-heel pump to wear with interview suits. I keep finding 3"-4" which I think is too high. TIA!

ReplyDelete(I deleted my prior post because I felt like the shoes were too cheap looking to be associated with this web site!)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to find nice looking mid-range heels, no? ;->
ReplyDeleteYes! Very difficult. I'm sure you've seen these Molly flannel pumps on eBay, seller has size 7 and 8. Possibly replace the bow with something a little less girly, like a buckle or something. Now that's a really nice heel for business attire.
ReplyDeleteOops, it's a 3 1/4" heel, but it doesn't look that high.

ReplyDeletePathos, Naturalizer and Sofft both make some nice pumps with a low heel. Most popular brands are on the bandwagon though. If you go to Endless or Zappos or any of the big shoe sites, you can search by heel height. Some of my favorites in the lower heeled pump or sandal come from Enzo Angiolini. You could also consider shoes that have a 3" heel combined with a platform since that makes the overall height and the pitch of the shoe similar to a 2 1/2" heel.
