Preface: A big "thanks!" to Ibi who suggested weekly 'Looking to LOVE' and 'Looking to HATE' posts where we could all "deposit" our best & worst current experiences. I think it is a brilliant idea and will try it out for a few weeks. Hopefully this will help out our fellow JCAs! :)
This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.
If you have recently experienced a positive situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.
Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including stellar experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.
I love my Jaspe' sweatshirt (wearing it right now), hoodie, and zip hoodie from last year. If I had known they wouldn't be offered again I would have bought a couple of each.
ReplyDeleteAlso, even though I despise the shipping costs at J.Crew (which is why I only shop with a free shipping code), I appreciate that they ship so quickly (on most occasions). I placed an order yesterday morning, received my shipping email yesterday afternoon, and my package is due to arrive tomorrow.
Like many others, I have been taken by the ochre double serge pencil skirt. I wasn't sure of my size (since I've only worn JC minis in the past) but I was happy that the petite sizing seemed TTS. Looks so classy with so many tops - including the wooly ribbed turtleneck (#30125) in warm pewter, which I also received. Although it's a bit see-through, the knit is soft and cozy and the buttons on the sleeve look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA little OT, but I splurged and bought the Madewell Aberdeen Two-Tone Oxfords (thanks, Slastena, for those wonderful modeling pics! :)) as an early Christmas present for myself (insert husband rolling eyeballs here). Fantastic! Love the look...the leather is so soft! And they go great with all my skinny jeans, blazers, and sweaters. Also indulged in the Get Spotted Scarf in byzantine brass. What a fun scarf! It looks great with a denim jacket. It's not like the JC wraps (scarf dimensions: 38"x38"), so it's not bulky at all. Very pleased with both items!
I love my online PS. She is the best and makes my experience with J Crew a positive one. When I received a sweater that was torn, she refunded me and sent me a replacement overnight. Great customer service will always keep me coming back.
ReplyDeleteohnoes, 3 loves vs 86 rants! :)
ReplyDeleteso far I like my Cecilia camis -- I got the solid ivory and green ones as well as the bronzy speckled one.
i also love my dot flouncette blouse, just looking for my orchid traversa to complete my look. :)
I'll add a love:
ReplyDeleteI love (adore!!!) my factory Annalise cami in the ivory/black dotted print.
I am picky and am very happy with this.
I love my Crystal Blooms Necklace in soft yellow. I was worried it would be too much on my small frame, or too long . . .but it is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI too love my Factory Annalise Cami . .but in the Navy floral print. I know it is something I will reach for time and again to pull together many different classic outfits!
I wore my nightfall blue double-serge pencil skirt today and looooove it. Love. It's such a beautiful color.
ReplyDeleteI love my J.Crew pencil skirts and cannot resist purchasing all but the most shiny/sparkly ones with each new rollout. I rely on these for work since we have taken the dress code down a notch and I no longer have to wear suits every day. The double-serge wool, rich tweeds and fine suiting fabric look good all day long and are easy to pair with a wide variety of blouses, sweaters or jackets. Love that there are new colors every season I and also like to have different lengths to choose from too. I buy more skirts than anything else at J.Crew, by a wide margin.
ReplyDeleteThere are 8 loves! Take note, JCrew! I will add that I love my in-store and online PSs, and I love them so much precisely because they treat me with common sense and customer courtesy. It's a shame this puts my in some kind of special class of JCrew customers.
ReplyDeleteI love my in-store ps. He's more than a personal shopper, he's also a friend. He always tells me the truth and not just want I want to hear. :)
ReplyDeleteOk this might be a lame looking to love but it made my day. I just went to my local Jcrew and purchased a new shell blouse (sorry I don't know its name...its black silk chiffon and has a sort of tuxedo look with two tie ribbons hanging from the collar)first the SA was kind enough to steam it for me, and then the SA who sold it to me hung it and gave me the nice hanging bag to go with it (the zipper kind, not the plastic kind)... and the blouse was only $30.00!
ReplyDeleteFFM: I love my Jaspe's as well. I wear at least one of them once a week.
ReplyDeletexoxo: yes, JC does pencil skirts so well.
I am loving some of the new colors that J. Crew has this season, especially Heather Tide, Sunwashed Pink, and Black Tide Diamond.
ReplyDeleteAshley - ITA with your comment about colors. Nobody does colors as well as JC does. Yes, it's disappointing that some offerings only include black, grey and ivory but for the most part, the colors are gorgeous. I just fell in love with the Nightfall Blue color and am debating picking up the double serge in that color. My favorite from this fall was the dark rosewood - love.
ReplyDeleteAgree with my fellow pencil skirt lovers -- I'd be naked most days without mine! I hoard them. haven't bought any of the wool ones recently; the ones I have are from, what, '08? '09? The year the ochre and persimmon ones came out. But I do love the cotton, linen and silk blend ones for warmer weather. The metallics I seem to wear year-round. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, an ode to my Bellas, another thing I totally hoard and could not live without. I am up to ... err ... 8 of them now. And seriously if my house was on fire, they're probably the one material thing I would save since they're practically irreplaceable.
Had a great experience with on-line customer service rep. I received an email stating my order for the dark fatigue Stadium Cloth Peacoat was cancelled because they "didn't have enough". When I looked on-line, I saw that there were plenty of the coats available in my size and color. While on the J. Crew site, the message box popped-up asking if I wanted to chat with a rep so I thought I would give it a try. I explained what happened and after investigating, she could not find out why my order was cancelled. She reordered my coat with free Fed-ex overnight shipping. I was originally paying around $17 to have this coat shipped so I thought this was great! Lastly, I love the coat! My usual coat size fit perfectly and it looks fabulous on!
ReplyDeleteLia, Dark Rosewood is great as well. The Jackie cardigan in that color caught my eye when I was flipping through the catalog. I didn't realize so many other items came in that color. I'll have to update my shopping cart!
ReplyDeleteI think the beautiful colors are a big part of why I don't mind the crazy styling. The stylists often come up with the best color combinations, combinations that I could never even dream of. And I copy them shamelessly!
I am now wearing the dream zip henley sweater (31359) and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Originally I wanted the cashmere version but will wait for a percentage off sale for that one. The dream version is chic and fab, super cozy. I might not feel the same way after a few washings (heck, maybe after the first wearing!), but right now I am happily drinking my crewlade. But not so much that I will get another one!
ReplyDeleteJust purchased the timber tweed pencil skirt and I love it...cozy, soft and goes with so much. I tend to end up buying a lot of the grays and cobblestone colors (even though I want to have more color in my closet)...anyway, this goes great with all those kinds of tones.
ReplyDeletei LOOVVEE the fact that i get 15% off at Jcrew by showing my student ID....i have been buying jcrew forever without using my discount. very happy :)
