J.Crew just extended their offer for 30% off any purchase from their Holiday Sale {no minimum} and free shipping (over $150 *after* discounts applied) with promo code JCREW until this Saturday! :)
This has been one great offer so far! I definitely took advantage of it at my local stores too. I got some accessories (like a few bracelets and belts) as well as some shirts (like the Chevron-Pleat Solid Shirt in White for $39.99 before discount). :)
Will you take advantage of this latest promotion? If so, what items did you pick up?
I got another Traversa sweater (this time in black) tonight -- with tax and minus the discount, it was $22-something.
ReplyDeleteI tried on a few other things (the petite bead shell, the Traversa stripe tank, and another tank that doesn't seem to be online), but decided to put them back because I figure they'd get marked down even further at some point.
The site just got updated. The % off sale is now extended to Nov. 20th, Saturday. Sadly, the sales section has not been updated yet. Pickings are pretty slim at this point.
ReplyDeleteI did end up ordering another Arrow Sweater Jacket in black with the promo. The price with the extra % off is too good to pass up.
ReplyDeleteI'll just be crossing my fingers that the items I want sooo bad become available in the right size /color.
ReplyDeletefinal sale with extra 30 at my local store, nothing very exciting even with the extra 30 to be final sale the discount should be more.
ReplyDeletelots of tops the same ones that have been there for ages, it is probably the same in your local JC store.
Sale site updated but many links sold out. Wonder if the new items will be available later.
ReplyDeleteFor those in love with the Arrow - my crewlet had it in charcoal on clearance with 20% off plus the outlet promo of another 20/25% off. Final cost was about $35.
I'm glad it's been extended til Saturday, as I was planning to hit up my local Jcrew then anyway. Now I can check out the sale section. :)
ReplyDeletehi ladies! i've been following this blog for quite a while, but haven't posted until now. i popped into my b&m 2 days ago and bought the Marble Hoodie for $35, golden rod mini for $28 and from the red phone i ordered the sequin pencil for $21 and drapey beatrice shorts for $41...should be arriving today, can't wait to see how they fit. i received the 30% the red phone orders but they are not final sale (yipeee) can anyone comment on how the wool tuxedo shorts fit? they are 29.99 in store and the red phone will honor that price, but the wait list is until 01.02, but i figure with the extra 30, they'd be $21 and worth the wait.
ReplyDeletei also just received an extra 20% coupon in my holiday catalog (online only) but has to be used by 11.28, looks like i've got more shopping to do!
Heads up that eBates is giving 3% cashback for jcrew!
ReplyDeleteNice surprise this morning (vs their normal 1% cashback rebate)- I bit on some winter accessories and holiday gifts. Yay the code works till Sat, I may stop by a B&M too :)p
Glad to see the sale was extended. Probably aren't selling much would be my guess...
ReplyDeleteI passed on this sale. There was more I wanted from Talbots and they have 25% off everything reg. and sale price and free shipping no minimum for 13 days starting yesterday.
It's great that the extra % off sale has been extended but not much have been updated on the sale section so I'm sitting out today. Unless the items I want pops back I'm not buying...
ReplyDeleteBtw, if anyone sees the Tulipe cami in dark charcoal/slate color in size 2 please let me know. My order was canceled yesterday.
I used the opportunity to buy a bathing suit for two upcoming trips to Florida. I ordered the Seersucker Sidney underwire top in D-cup (last time I did this, I received a call the next day telling me it was out of stock, so I hope they have it) and matching bottoms. Total for the suit came to $20.98. I also ordered another bottom to a suit to (hopefully) match a black top I have - those were $6.99.
ReplyDeleteI FINALLY received the plaid cropped tuxedo pants last night. They are very cute, true to size (I took the same size as I wear in the minnies), well made, and are lined which was a nice touch. However, at only 5'2" they are not cropped on me, nor are they full length. They fall at a very weird spot unfortunately. :( I could pay to get them shortened to the right length, but it would be expensive with the lining. Truth be told, even at the right length, I don't think I'd LOVE them enough to justify the $130 ($140 with tax). So I will be returning this weekend. Just MHO . .and if you are taller, the length shouldn't be an issue. (Think I will get the double serge pencil skirt in bright dalia instead. . I know that will fit and I'll get a lot of wear out of it.)
ReplyDeleteanything_but_full_price - I bought the wool tuxedo shorts at my B&M well over a month ago at the $29.99 price. They are really cute! I can't wait to wear them to some holiday parties with fun tights. :) The fit is TTS. I took my normal size 0 (which is what I wear in minnies, skirts, and most everything else except the overly relaxed items I get a 00). I'm contemplating cutting off the ribbon tie because it forces you to tuck in your shirt . .but it is cute. Still on the fence on that. HTH!
I have been waiting patiently for a small cashmere shawl popover in the plum color. I have it in tan and I'm absolutly in love with it. This is one of those sweaters that I'd like to have in every color. I hate how they still have a bunch of colors at full price and a select few in the sale section.
ReplyDeleteI'm also waiting for the full length toothpick denim in the dark wash size 28.
Aficionadas in the Columbus, Ohio area: Can anyone report on the sale selections at the B&M at Easton or Polaris? Both are about a 30 minute drive for me, so I'd like to know if the trip is worth it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Severn lace mini, still $138.00 online, is now $89.99 less 30% at my B&M (45th & Madison in NYC). They had a large selection in both colors. I'm typically not into anything with an elastic waistband, however in the case of this skirt I totally understood it once I tried it on because it makes your waist look tiny and gives the skirt just the tiniest bit of poof in contrast to the cinched waist. After having ordered the Factory silver lace mini and returning it because it was somewhat unflattering, this was a delightful find! Traveling to Europe next week and can't wait to wear it! :)
ReplyDeleteI bought the Dream Open Shawl Cardigan. I'm super excited for it!!!!! this is my first online JCrew purchase. I'm usually at the outlets, B&M, or sample sales. I bought it with the remaining of my gift card I received for my birthday. So I only paid 20 dollars. Gotta love gift cards
ReplyDeleteI caught the Arrow-bug and ordered it in three different colors. Also, a pair of flannel pajama pants- they are pretty comfortable and my old ones are looking, well, old.
ReplyDeleteJust back from the B&M sale section, where I was helping my mom buy gifts. There were some new items on the sale racks: Moss Tweed Pencil Skirt priced at $80 (plus discount)!! (didn't have my size, boo - if anyone finds a 4 or 6, please hold it for me!), the new Lisette tank (the new pretty lace one) was $60 I believe, another peach tank with layered lace/sequin detail I never saw FP for $40), and a wool camel shimmer pencil skirt($99).
ReplyDeleteMy mom got the following deals including discount: lace panel tee ($6.99), traversa cardi ($20.99), merino shirred cardi ($13.99), tossed bouquet tee ($10.99), sequin pencil skirt ($20.99 - unsnagged, miracle!), green cecilia cami ($13.99), chiffon cecilia cami ($20.99), waxed utility jacket ($27.99), silk twyla tank ($13.99).
Has anyone tried the Factory alpaca long shawl cardigan? Trying to figure out how thick/thin it is... can't tell from the picture. TIA!
ReplyDeleteshopwithme, so the lisette tank is 59.99 in store? was that all colors or only the heirloom pink? i want the black but it is still FP online. :(
ReplyDeletesounds like your mom got some crazy deals.
i didn't know you could order sale items on the red phone. wtfbbq, i would have ordered the sequin pencil skirt by now! rats. :-/
ReplyDeleteI wish I could find a great pair of khaki pants. Sort of funny that there is no such thing on J. Crew at the moment. The sale section seems pretty lean.

ReplyDeleteAck, ok, so dh is home and I went to the other store by me, lol! As fate would have it, they had ONE moss tweed skirt left -- in my size -- which I took home for $55. I was looking for gifts, but that one I just couldn't pass up. This store was more picked over than the other one, but still a lot on sale. Outerwear was 30% off, but it wasn't a stackable deal. The Coletta in deep plum was priced at $169 in the sale rack (only color on sale), so that's a nice price. I also saw the cashmere tee in vintage wisteria priced at $90 + discount.
ReplyDeleteCass -- The Lisette was in black, nude and pink, but many colors were gone already. I tried it on and it fit similarly to other silk tanks.
Genny -
ReplyDeleteHave you ever thought about going off and creating your own Talbots Aficionada blog?
Also, the Cotton Plaid Metallic Scarf was on sale in store for $29.99 + discount. I think in every color. Love the green!

ReplyDeleteI ordered the merino sequined crochet cardi in gold, the lisette lace shell in olive moss ($54.60 with 30% off), cecilia cami in bronzed twig, and bootcut cords in rainforest green. The 30% worked on promo items online.
ReplyDeleteThere are awesome promotions everywhere except J Crew. What's the deal? I just spent waaay too much at Talbots and only one of the four items I bought was a gift. Terrible. Most promos are also free shipping, which is key...I feel like J crew is one or the other (a discount or free shipping).
ReplyDeleteelaine - don't feel bad about getting the sale price on the red phone. that's one of those highly variable j. crew things - it depends on the store/SA. I know in no way would I be able to convince any of the SAs around here to do that for me. Instead I would just get "store prices vary from retail prices etc. etc.".
ReplyDeletehope that doesn't sound bitter - it isn't meant to. It's just the way it goes!
I went and got the cashmere marabou cardigan in rose dust. I had to get it in an L, not an XL, which was already gone by the time I learned about this sale.
ReplyDeleteSince it was not a final sale, I will take a chance and if it does not fit, I'll return it.
This afternoon, I ordered the beautiful Sterling jacquard pencil skirt- for $100 off the original price. Yea! It gets better.. I saved a link to JC Factory and was able to order a couple Factory cashmere sweaters and they were included in the additional 30% off at check out!! How cool it that?? And it's not even the weekend! You can find a JC Factory link at Preppy Sue's blog from September 17. :)
ReplyDeletejcrewphd, I just received a Tulipe cami in charcoal size 2 today and it did not fit. Please email me if you'd like it - I would be happy to send it to you instead of returning.

Can I ask what are opinions on the Moss Tweed Pencil coloring? The fabric image online is very green and lovely, but I feel like (if I remember correctly) in store it seemed more black and silver? Perhaps it was just lighting. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteI placed an order this morning to rebuy the Donegal sweater that I had bought less than two weeks ago and is already on sale (seriously!) but I had a VERY HARD TIME to find something to add to my order to get the free shipping. In the end I added a cashmere shell in xxs, just because it's an online only item and I cannot try it in store. Not sure that I am going to keep it at FP though.
ReplyDeleteErin: You might be thinking of the Notte Tweed pencil skirt. They came out around the same time. The Moss Tweed is indeed green-ish, with purple and blue undertones. It's a beautiful skirt. I took close-up pics of both skirts that you can see here.
ReplyDeleteHi everybody -- I don't have a pencil skirt life style (hah!), so I don't get them, but the Moss Tweed was lovely. . . If anyone finds a 0 on sale, it would be so sweet to let me know and/or hold it. I could probably call the store and use my J.Crew card. Yes, it's pretty dark, but not too silvery.
ReplyDeleteEmily,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! Isn't the Talbots promo fantastic. It is so nice to have a % off and free shipping no minimum.
Like Em, said I could not even find $150+ worth of JCrew items right now to qualify for the discount and free ship.
Cass, I bought both the pink and black Lisette top at my local store (Palo Alto) on sale $59.99 minus the 30%. I also purchased the Dot flouncette blouse for $59.99 minus the 30% sale price.
ReplyDeleteI received my Arrow and am worried it makes my b/c cup chest look like a d.
ReplyDeleteThe merino cielo ruffle cardi is nice, I got it in several colors. Order it in the sweet almond, specifically. It's the only one that shows the detail that is on the edge of the lace, tiny little balls that you would see on a scarf. So cute. But the only color of 4 that shows the detail well, although they all have them. Fits TTS.
J.Crew doesn't need to focus on deep discounts and huge % off because they are shrewd in terms of the quantities they produce and how they market it. They sell a large amount at full price so they are not sitting on huge amounts of inventory and are forced to offer huge discounts like Talbots and other retailers are having to do. This is a good thing when you own J.Crew stock. You get what you pay for. The quality never disappoints and I always get compliments on my clothes from j.crew.
ReplyDelete*blink*
ReplyDeletepaul weg,
ReplyDeleteThe quality at JCrew is all over the place from very poor to acceptable to the occasional Wow piece. I have been buying JCrew for MANY years and there has been a GREAT decline in quality over the past year but it started about 2 years ago.
JCrew would not have extended this extra 30% off sale if thing were selling well.
