Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER & HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new RESORT & SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I am not sure if I will visit the store this weekend. I'm feeling cool towards J Crew right now. However, I am certainly still trying things on and have some new reviews posted including the contrast pencil skirt. Very curious if this will make it to a markdown.

  2. I don't think I'll be going this weekend, but I am looking forward to hearing reports from everyone who does go. :)

  3. There are some new arrivals in the shirts section this am, the Peony shirt is now available.

    ReplyDelete
  4. It looks like the stores didn't get the new mini-rollout, so I will probably wait until the next one.

  5. I have to work most of the weekend so no shopping for me. I bought a few new items with the 20% off code yesterday online. I think my spring wardrobe is about ready to go.

  6. Ema,
I would call my local store as the email said yesterday new arrivals in store and online.

Land's End has 20% all new spring items and free shipping no minimum!!! That is where my money is going:) Stores and online.

20% off $175 with having to pay for shipping does nothing for me JCrew....sorry.

  7. I don't think I will be going...to long a drive...will wait for some of the new arrivals to go on sale in a few weeks. I mean, the dark blossom jacket is already on sale as well as the stained glass cardigan. Hopefully, some of the new items that came out yesterday will be on sale soon to---

  8. casual crew,
Thanks for the post. The Peony shirt sleeves look short on the model and it is a long sleeve shirt in the description. Makes me worried as I have long arms...hopefully the shirt will make it to sale...

  9. I'm actually going to be 15 mins from the Crew-let today and tomorrow. So I'm going to pop by there.

  10. I won't be going back in this weekend, but for those of you who are, there were quite a few newer items already on sale. The Alpansia swiss dot blouse, in black at least, was down to $50, the black blossom jacket was $80, there were some new neon graphic tees marked down, the jersey ruffle neck dress from right before Christmas was $40, and a couple of the newer skirts I think the style with the elastic waist that seems really short were in the sale section, but I didn't have time to note which fabric it was.

  11. If my street ever gets plowed, I'm planning on going...the store is holding a Black Blossom Jacket and Museum Cardigan for me. I'm planning on stopping at the outlets as well (not so far from the store I'm visiting). Will let you know what I find!

  12. I'll probably stop by this weekend, but only because I have my $75 rewards card to use. Nothing is really grabbing me these days except the cashmere cardigans - gorgeous colors but I'm sure they'll look pilled after one wearing. I'm feeling a bit cool towards Jcrew as well - the Copley Boston store has called me THREE times to remind me that my rewards card should have arrived by now and that I can use a personal shopper. I get it, people!

  13. If anyone's interested.. I found the Sorels that sold out from J.Crew this year at outdoorsportsguys dot com for 77$ and they have a better size selection too!

  14. If anyone sees the new sunshine peony pencil skirt in their b&m, I would love to see IRL pics of it! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

  15. A few things were delivered yesterday so I'll put in my 2c.

Neapolitan skirt is unfortunately going back. I'm not impressed with the print IRL - too much sepia and navy for me and it's not as flattering as other J.Crew pencils I own. The matelasse fabric is pretty and it feels nice on, it just does nothing for me.

Unagi tweed skirt is a definite keeper. The antique violet is barely a shade off the purple double-serge pencil and I love this color so will now have Unagi for spring/summer. It fits much better than the Neapolitan and hugs my limited curves in the nicest way. Wish this came in another non-brown color.

Crosshatch cotton pencil skirt is another great spring/summer pencil. The fabric is quite substantial and the skirt is well-constructed, really form-flattering without being tight. Interesting detail on the waistband too.

Silk streamers cami in light berry. Aw, this is really cute now that I have steamed the streamers and lifted them up a bit. Fits nice, the side zip doesn't seem to protrude at all, maybe because it is really long. Glad I like it since it was FS.

The rest was for DH so I'll skip over that since he won't try them until he gets back in town. Sorry if it's all boring pencil skirts but that is my work uniform so always on my J.Crew shopping list.

Has anyone tried the Linen-cotton coverstitch tank 24534? It says "slouchy" fit and there is xxs available so I assume I should size down but would appreciate anyone who could confirm.

    ReplyDelete
  16. xoxo - You're making me want to get the Unagi Tweed Pencil skirt!

Also, I did try on the Linen Overstitch Tank in a Small and it was a little snug. I normally take a Medium and probably should have gone with that. You can view pics here: http://audreybella.blogspot.com/2010/02/disappointed-in-j-crew-celosia-cardi-in.html

    Hope that helps!

  17. Thanks for the review & photos of the Contrast Pencil Skirt, Gigi! I love that skirt. My issue is that I don't know what to pair it with to "calm" down the contrast. It's a "love/too much contrast?" relationship for me..

xoxo- also appreciate your reviews. I didn't even notice the Crosshatch Cotton Skirt before. Nice! Thank you.

  18. @Genny: Yep, Land's End knows how to do it.

Also note that the promotion also applies to Land's End Canvas - basically LE's version of J. Crew.

LE Canvas is less fashion-oriented then JC, with more classic basics.

I own to 2 LE Canvas shirts (green gingham and pink-striped oxford cloth) and I'm quite pleased. High quality as expected and a slimmer fit then Land's End.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I keep hearing about LE Canvas. Can anyone comment on sizing? I wear XS/2 in JCrew. What size should i get in LE canvas?

    Many thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Genny- Where did you find the code for 20% & free shipping? I only see the 20% off on their home page but no free ship. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Just an FYI-the waterfloral perfect shirt will be part of the April roll-out and on the site end of March.
This is the same floral pattern as the sold-out "papaya" scarf print that turned out the be the potpourri print. That's not too confusing now..is it? Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  22. audreybella, thanks for the link to your blog. I love your IRL photos and reviews. Good to know that I should take my regular size in the tank, much appreciated.

The Unagi skirt is really nice. Some of the threads have a slight sheen and the weave totally makes the look. I had to put it on again for a few minutes today, even though I am working from home and that means jeans and a tee.

Crew Cricket the crosshatch is also available in a blazer but I only got the skirt. I am still not convinced that the double-layers would be a feature and I don't have to wear a full suit so I buy a lot more sweaters instead. DaniBP Mop reviewed the crosshatch suit with IRL photos on her blog.

  23. Ashley, I think if you subscribe to the e-mails from Lands' End, you'll get the code for 20% off plus the free no minimum shipping. The codes may be specific each person (which might be why no one has posted one yet), but I'm not sure.

So glad that so many people are becoming aware of the LE Canvas line. I live about an hour away from their corporate headquarters in Wisconsin... they have a great reputation for customer satisfaction.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I see plenty of other sides listing the code/pin for the 20% off + free shipping at Land's End, so here you go:

    Code: FEB15

  25. Quiet Nights- Thanks so much! Saved me lots of money! :)

  26. Ooh thanks Danielle too! I just signed up for their emails :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree with the crosshatch pencil skirt being nice. It is heavy and fits much like the perfect pencils and the fabric has a nice, interesting texture.

It is understated, but definitely worth a look.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Someone asked about the Contessa. I have irl pics in this post.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ashley,

I see the code has been posted. All you have to do is sign up with LE and they will send you free ship codes and offers all the time. I get free shipping no minimums a couple of times a week it seems. Lasts only for a day or two usually but WONDERFUL!

I also have codes for $15 off a $75 order good until end of this month.

    ReplyDelete
  30. PS

Also check out Fit 1 in LE's regular line as well as their accessories. The featured scarf in many of their ads sold out already. I ordered it on Monday; so glad I did as that color is sold out now.

There is a cute fish print in their scarves in two different colors for any JC critter fans.

I remember people talking about JC's fish print just yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Genny, is the $15 off a $75 purchase for LE Canvas, too? If so, did you get an e-mail with the code? I need to clean out my in-box. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. It has been about a year since the TJ Maxx J.Crew shoe bonanza... anyone think they'll do that again this year? One can only hope...

I will not be going to J.Crew this weekend. I hate all the new arrivals and have bought way too much stuff at the clearance store lately.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I see someone is selling the J.Crew canvas reusable totes on ebay for $31.99. What were these priced at in the B&Ms, $10 or something like that? Quite the markup.

    ReplyDelete
  34. danielle,
I got a paper coupon with an order. I will be happy to pass on the code. I already used it on regular LE and Canvas accessory order but hopefully it can be used more than once:) Just let me see if I can find it and will post it. I also think the paper coupon is availabe in Sears/LE stores with purchase as I got another one that way.....will do some hunting through my mess of papers.

I am turning back into the HUGE LE fan that I was back in the 80's and 90's. Once I found JCrew in 2000 I shopped their still but MUCH less. Now it is reversing.

  38. classic_style - I saw that. If someone buys that tote for $50, they are seriously od'ing on Crewlade. It doesn't have a flat bottom or even a pocket inside of it. It's worth $10 for sure. $50, no.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Genny: I am too, I stopped shopping LE around that time too.

Martin & Osa has 20% off sale this weekend and FREE SHIPPING NO MINIMUM, in addition to their sweater sale. Code on front page on their splash screen.

    ReplyDelete
  40. xoxo: I ordered the linen coverstitch tank, and should be arriving today. I will post back and let you know what I think. I was leary of the sizing on it too, since, as you mentioned, it is slouchy and an xxs is available. I order one size smaller than my normal, based on similary experience in the past (e.g., rolling ruffles tank), that my normal size would be too big. I'll let you know.

    ReplyDelete
  41. OK. I know spelling/grammar should not be an issue but--

    THERE instead of their
I cannot help myself; must correct.

    Casual-Crew,
That is a funny coincidence with the LE thing....

    ReplyDelete
  42. gigiofca: I am glad I am not the only one who thought $50 for the reuseable tote is outrageous. I too question the judgment of someone paying that much. $10 on the other hand is perfectly fair and I actually might pick one up at that price.

There are some other cute canvas totes around these days, and I am wondering if it's a trend?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks for posting the code, Genny! LE was never a place I shopped before, as the styles for women seemed a little dowdy for many years. I started shopping there recently for my son -- they make great outerwear and clothing for kids. But now with the updated cuts (Fit 1) and the addition of the Canvas line, I'm definitely rethinking LE for my own wardrobe needs.

As a side note... I've got the tissue garland tank in my shopping basket, but there's only one left in my size and color -- it started selling out today. But seriously... is it worth the price tag? It's just a tissue tank!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I will not be going this weekend. Nothing interesting at B&M and I just placed two huge orders couple days ago so enough crewlade for me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Danielle,
I had the same tank in Sepia color but it's sold out now in XS. I haven't tried it on but I like that color.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Danielle,
IMO the JCtank is not worth the price but many others must disagree.
I ordered some silk and silk cotton camisoles from LE that came this week for around $15-19 each. They are super nice for the price in the Overstocks section. I bit of ruffles and pintucks on one.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Also,

LLBean is starting a more up to date style/fit like LE Canvas starting in March.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Does anyone know how the LE Canvas fit/sizing compares to JCrew? I am a S/4 on top in JCrew, and a 2 on the bottom. What would you recommend in Canvas?

    Thx!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Danielle, I love the garland tank but I don't think it's worth what they're asking. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they have my size around after a markdown (my b&m still had tons of them last Saturday).

I will be going to my b&m on Monday. Some of the teachers from my school are going shopping on our day off. I am hoping to find the ruffled gamine jacket in my size. I tried it on when it first hit the stores and loved it but couldn't justify the price. But, I will pay the new sale price. So fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Does anyone know if the ruffled gamine jacket (item 21804) in desert rose color only available online? I have checked with a couple stores and the SA said they only have black.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks for the thoughts on the tissue garland tank! I'm keeping an eye on the sepia color in extra small. It's now on backorder through March. Maybe I'll be able to score it on sale at some point, as long as they replenish after the backorder. I'd rather find it at a B&M... paying for shipping chaps my behind.

I'm curious about the LE canvas sizing, too. I'm an extra small in JC tops, but pants vary (usually a 0/2/26, depending on fit). Some tops they have XS, and even XXS.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just came back from both the regular store and the outlet.

The J.Crew in Columbia, MD has several of the wool scarves people have been talking about -- the watercolor potpourri one (which is really the color papaya) and the other floral one displayed on the website (color is actually cotton candy). The SA told me that the mini rollout would be out by Sunday -- items were delayed because of the storm. They were in the process of unpacking items when I was there. No new pencil skirts in this B&M rollout. Also, as others have mentioned, a lot of the relatively new stuff from January was on sale -- stained glass cardi, black blossom jacket and the cotton floral cap-sleeve camis.

Nothing new since the last Spring rollout at the outlet (I went to the one in Arundel Mills). I bought a really pretty bright/vibrant floral cotton scarf (colors similar to the talitha cami). I don't really care for the wrinkled way they display it -- my plan is to iron it all out. If anyone is interested, I can take pictures and put it up on polyvore over the weekend. I also purchased a couple of nice earrings as well.

    Hope this helps!!

  53. What is "regenerated leather sole" all about?

Is this common for shoes now or is this a new, cheaper way to say shoes have leather soles? Alot of JCrew's new summer sandals have this description.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If I happen to find myself near a JC this weekend, I will peruse the dregs of the sale section and that's about it. Other than that lovely violet pencil skirt, I am numb to the whole Spring collection.

Which is just as well, as I've found so many of my most sought-after treasures from seasons past thanks to all the ladies here on JCA. I'm having fun test-driving my recent acquisitions and there are many that must wait until it's warm again, so really the last thing I should be doing is window-shopping! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I googled "regenerated leather" and got the following answer:

"Regenerated leather" is made by grinding up scraps of waste leather with a small amount of natural rubber.

I guess it's a good way to use scrap leather...they'll prolly charge more for it since it might be considered eco-friendly.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I just got my violet Unagi tweed skirt back from the tailor - loved it enough to get it shortened, as the 24 inches look dowdy on me. It's a fab skirt. Going straight into my suitcase for my trip to Paris :-)

I love it with the floral potpourri scarf, btw.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jean: I've been to two B&M and they only had the black gamine jacket. I ordered the color you're referring to online and will see how bright it is.

La Belle Helene: You're tempting me with the Unagi skirt in that violet color... what would you wear on top to go with? The potpourri scarf would be so lovely with it, too.

    ReplyDelete
  58. jcrewphd: I love navy with violet ... For Paris, I'll be wearing it with either my charcoal or black Bella (have totally relished the opportunity to go back and peruse Sept. 2007 catalogue since it's so apropos), a navy or grey cashmere sweater, and the floral potpourri scarf. ... In warmer weather, I'll probably pair it with a cropped denim jacket.

I hope you get it - I think you won't regret it :-)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Got back from JC in Orlando with a few new bits and pieces...

The Suckered Gingham Perfect Shirt in Blackberry -- love it! Very soft and has a slouchy quality but still tidy enough for the office.

Stretch Double Serge Pencil Skirt in Natural -- looks awesome with the gingham shirt! Nice thick cotton, not sure but it feels like twill and I like the seaming in the back. I may need to shorten it a bit, but the fit is TTS for JC pencil skirts. I can't wait till the weather is warmer to wear this.

Skimmer pants in Irish Moss -- I've always been between a 4 and 6 in the Cafe and Cocktail capris and disappointed in how they fit me, but these were great. They probably will fit a bit big on those of you who do wear the Cafes or Cocktails, as the 4 fit me fine. The colour is great, it will work with lots of tops I have.

I need another cardigan like I need a hole in the head, but I bought the Black Blossoms cardi all the same. On the website I didn't look twice at it, but in person it's really nice, different without being crazy or over the top. It'll work with casual and business looks, and the merino feels thick and soft. Fits like the Jackies.

    ReplyDelete
  60. jcrewphd, let me know what you think about the desert rose color when you receive your piece. My PS told me that color is too bright but I thought I just didn't really want "another black coat".

Saw a few new arrivals like the Blakely wrap blouse - very pretty! A chiffon beaded flowers tee... very beautiful but not worth for $55.00!

    A few items on sale:
    Stained glass cardigan - $59.99
    Frances cami - $59.99
    Cotton papillon blouse - $49.99
    Alpansia swiss-dot blouse - $59.99 or $49.99 (can't remember...)
    Chiffon trim cardigan - $59.99
    Black blossom jacket - $79.99
    Ruffled gemine jacket - $119.99

There's no additional percentage off but the good thing is the sale items are not final sale in store! If they don't work out, you can always return them!

  61. This is completely off topic. Does anyone work for J.Crew retail store. I turned in a couple of applications at my local malls. Is it difficult to get a job there. I have a full time career, but I was looking for part-time work, and since I love their clothes it made sense.
    Thanks in advance!

  62. I was at a B&M in Seattle and was told that the next Spring rollout will be the last week of February.
They said it will be on the floor on Wednesday the 24th and will be larger than the last rollout. They were hoping for brighter colors too!

    ReplyDelete
  63. If anyone is still looking for the $10 totes, Mission Viejo, CA had at least 5 left as of this afternoon.

  64. For those whose stores have the spring rollout - has anyone seen the basket weave portico dress (#22888)? I'm curious how it looks IRL and what the brilliant orange colors looks like. Thanks!

  65. Danielle, I bought the graland tank in sepia in XS FP in store b/c I loved the detailing.IT's ehaper on line, retail charges $45.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Clicquot: I just received my Skimmer Pants yesterday and I totally agree with your review of them. They fit much better than the Cocktail capris from last year. I am 5'4 and I took my normal JC regular size 8 in petites and they fit me like a glove.

Bermuda Shorts #23190- JC has taken out the lycra-stretch out of the shorts this year. I found they run big especially in the waist, I could have size down.

Scout chinos - Loved the fit again I sized down took my regular pant size in petites, perfect for casual wear.

The best part of this order is that I do not have to return or alter anything, and I am happy with the quality of these items.

The comments posted about the sizing, fit of these pants and other items are invaluable to me.

  68. IRL - there are several different methods to manufacture "regenerated leather" and currently there is no standard method attached to the product name. Although some processes are patented the term is ubiquitous for the product, irrespective of how it is made. Scraps of leather are always used, they are processed into a pulp that is mixed with rubber or other industrial chemicals and then baked, frozen or dried to make a sheet. Pieces cut from the sheet are bonded together and formed.

Proponents of natural leather claim that regenerated leather is not as strong as natural leather. It is less expensive and uses waste product but also uses chemicals, which are used in the tanning of the leathers before they become scraps, too. Since it does not look as nice as natural leather, some manufacturers emboss the product and use it in facing applications but most use it where it will not be scrutinized, such as shoe lining and soles, leather furniture that can be called "all leather" but the less visible areas are made with regenerated rather than natural leather, etc. It's considered an upgrade over pu and other synthetics but does not have all the qualities or the cachet of natural leather.

If you purchase shoes with regenerated leather soles I recommend you take them to a cobbler to have a sole saver applied to prolong the life of the sole. I do that will all my leather-soled footwear anyway. It adds some traction and protects from rain, snow, or whatever you may step in, such as oil dripped from a car onto the street you may be crossing.

I believe J.Crew is using the product to upgrade from synthetic soles and it is definitely an upgrade, but not as premium as natural leather. You have to weigh the cost/benefit of materials though. Natural leather-soled footwear is quite expensive and since you never really see the soles, comfort and durability for a lower price may be the best option for mid-range retailers.

Sorry for the long post. I thought I would share the info in case J.Crew is going to be using the product regularly, people may want to know. HTH

  69. Not visiting. But I did just get my package yesterday (great timing considering the winter storms) and I'm super duper happy with my navy long beach cardi. I love it. I'm so pleased. 73. I have my shopping cart full of stuff but I'm still wavering back and forth about taking the plunge. I have a $75 rewards card that makes it easier but I'm not sure if I need all this stuff. Honestly, it's the dang shipping that's holding me back. I know that the 20% savings + my rewards card = decent savings but I just hate paying $18.50 for the shipping!! What to do!!!

I'm tempted to go to the B&M to see if there are any better deals there but I just don't know if it'd be worth it. The nearest B&M is in another town so I try to consolidate all my errands to make the trip worthwhile.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Marlene heels or the wool schoolboy blazer? I hate that JC raised the sale price from 79.99 to 99.99 a few weeks back on the blazer.

    ReplyDelete
  74. There were NONE of the new arrivals that were online at my local store. The store manager looked at me like I was nuts when I mentioned new arrivals. I told him the email I got said online and in stores. He said must be select stores. They don't have any new arrivals he said coming any time soon. The sale section was tiny and sad. I cannot believe I left empty handed but there was nothing I really wanted.

  75. Forgot to mention there were a few of the canvas tote bags at the Mall of Millenium (Orlando) if anyone's looking for them.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Went to the Montgomery Mall store in MD and they had a ton of new arrivals. They had Kelsey ruffle tops in really bright pretty colors and a lot of great pencil skirts. They also have a lot of the jewelry on sale as well. The drapey wool Claire skirt looked shorter in person than it does online. The rosette tanks are really pretty but all in faded colors, which doesn't appeal to me a lot right now. The perfect fit cascade tee is great; the scoop neck is perfect and not too low. I picked one up in a bright purple.

    ReplyDelete
  77. i went to jcrew today and there were a lot of mark downs that were not on the site. the painter tees, the alpaca stripe v-neck sweater and others. what really made me mad was that the black blossom blazer is now on sale for $79.99! i cant believe it. A huge print thats apart of he collection is already on sale? no price adjustment for me : ( i hate it when they do that! either wait it out or lose out on my size!

  78. Thanks for linking my comprehensive list post to the bottom of this one. I still can't figure out how to do that ;-)

  79. I have not been to the regular store yet this weekend, but I did go to the outlet. While I was NOT a fan of several sweaters I purchased there several months ago (if you even look at them too long they pill!), I loved the new Spring merchandise. The quality differential does not appear as different vs. the fall/winter items. Plus, for those of you that are missing J Crew's simpler styling from ~2 years ago, before they went nuts with piling on the jewelry and ankle socks and such, the styling of the store dummies was spot-on - clean, wearable, classic J Crew with a (little) fashion twist.

Anyway, I was so pleased with what I got: four "artist" tees for $14.97 + another 30% off (highly recommend - great material, slightly thicker then the painter tees), a jaspe sweatshirt-material cardi ($45 and fits like a dream. Cut on the longer side - but I am relatively short), plus a crewcuts boys chambray shirt. Loved the full-proe version for women in the store but the shirts just don't fit me (too big). The crewcuts size (10 boys) worked for me, though I would say the pockets are placed a tad higher than there they would be on a woman's shirt. They also had a ton of embellished tees, including the zebra tee from last year (around $60 for that one, but $30-$40 for the other embellished tees, plus 30% off). There were also some prints from last year (remember the floral-silhouette in grey/yellow? if you missed that, it's at the outlet), plus that very pretty tiered, full-ish skirt (gateau?). I am forgetting the name, but last year it came in chartreuse, that bright flame color, etc. Also Victorias in grey and magenta for ~$65. Anyway, my day was made with this trip. BTW - if you are planning to make some purchases at a "Premium Outlets" mall (I was at Woodbury Commons)- you can buy an excellent coupon book that includes one for 15% off your J Crew Outlet purchase of $150 or more. The book was $10 and is well-worth it if you are making oter stops. If you are a AAA member, the book is free.

  80. tweedy: do you remember how much the gateau skirts were?

  81. Thanks for the info, tweedy! It's a 2+ hour drive for me to the outlets so it really has to be worth it! Sounds like it might be this time! :)

  82. Has anyone seen the Shocking Pink Jackie twinset in stores? If so, can you comment on whether it is the same color as last year's double-serge cotton pencil skirt in shocking pink? Does it have coral undertones at all or is it a cool-undertoned hot pink?

Really like the way it looks online, much like the double-serge pencil color. I need another twinset like I need a hole in the head but I am a sucker for a candy pink sweater.

    TIA

  83. xoxo - I don't remember seeing last year's skirt, but I have seen the jackie. I would say there is no coral too it - it's all pink. Not quite highlighter pink, but it's definitely bright. It's on my list of jackies to buy this year.

  85. AC,

Wait on your trip to the outlets for a few days. I went to the Crewlet in Jeffersonville, Ohio today and they said they would be getting a shipment in on Tuesday evening and it would be on the floor Wednesday morning.

  86. math teacher - thank you! I'm looking forward to some hot pink for spring. Which other Jackies are on your list?

Can a woman ever have too many sweater sets? I think not.

  87. I have a free shipping code (any amount) that expires today that I cannot use. Please post after you use it!

    Thanks!

  88. xoxo - I have several in my cart and they have even more colors in the stores. Here's what I would like to add to my wardrobe, b/c one can never have enough cardis. :D

    pink frost
    seashore green
    light citron (more yellow IRL)
    shocking pink
    burnished olive
and one of the lavenders - not sure which one I'd pick, there are 3 in the b&m
I also like the fresh melon, but again there are 3 peachy shades in the b&m so I'm not sure which one I would pick. Of course, I probably won't be getting all of these colors, but definitely one of the pinks, seashore green, and burnished olive. The rest, well we'll just have to wait and see if they're still around on sale. What colors, beside shocking pink, are you hoping for?

  89. Karlita's Way, I just used it. Thanx! :)

  90. Regenerated leather would be an upgrade... if they were using it on shoes that previously had man-made soles. However, every shoe that now has regenerated leather soles... had regular leather soles in last season's version, if there was one. The capri sandals are an example. They have just downgraded shoes that already had leather soles instead of upgrading their shoes with crappy man-made soles. Interesting.

  91. Completely OT, but my local Gap manager messaged me that the Gap Stores will be offering 40% off storewide (in-store only) on regular and sale priced merchandise for President's Day tomorrow ONLY. Thought some of you may want to drop in tomorrow.

  92. Just wanted to comment on the fit of LE Canvas line, as I saw a few people asking.... Depending on the cut/style recentl I've been taking a XS/S in tops for J Crew and 0/2 in bottoms, and in LE Canvas I take my normal size XS/2 (In the boyfriend fit things I would size down to a 0.) The Land's End regualr line I can wear a XS/2 if its the modern fit, and its comfortable (a little on the looser side, but I don't like things skin tight anyway).

Sadly, I haven't even checked the J Crew site once durring this promo. It all just seems so stale. Re-used/re-positioned ruffles. On the other hand, I've placed 8 orders for Land's End durring their recent 20%/FS promo, and about 20 orders total since January. And prior to December, I hadn't owned a LE thing in my life. My husband took my temperature to see if I was all right, once the LE boxes started arriving, and the J Cew boxes were notibly absent. Even he, who's clueless, has commented on the apparent quality of LE vs. my apprehensive "quality control/hole check" every time I open a J crew package.Go figure.

  93. AppGal - if I remember correctly, they were somewhere around $60. I didn't look too carefully, though, so it may be worth a call to your nearest outlet to double-check.

    ac - you're welcome :)

  94. Nichi, thanks for the tip! :) Actually, I'll call the outlets and ask when their shipment is coming in. Yay!

  95. math teacher, in addition to shocking pink I have the hyacinth and seashore green on my wish list. I bought the pink frost and dried orchid last fall and have worn them quite a bit. The Jackie's are my go-to pieces when I'm rushed in the morning. Twinset and a pencil skirt, a pair of tights and boots and out the door. So easy for this non-morning person.

  96. eqyptomanic,
My house is the same. The sea of Jcrew boxes as been replaced slowly but surely. I would say one JCrew box to every 5 LE boxes! It is kind of funny when you mention it! I bought the ladies Dory jacket in iris for only $19.99. It is super warm and lightweight and trim fitting. Great buy. I believe it is now highter priced after promo but I got gloves, scarf and hat to match for $8 each as well and I am toasty and fashionable:)

  97. I just placed an order with LE. Egyptomanic, I don't know if you like scarves but the prices on the Overstocks ladies scarves are insanely cheap and the quality is there. I got some in the mail on Friday and I had to order a few more colors!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Genny!
I do, and I did! Love them! They had a lightweight knit one in a few different colors that I got. One in Navy and one in Light Yellow with thin white stripes. So cute! At $10 I think I want more!

    ReplyDelete
  99. egyptomanic,

I know the ones you got! I have both those colors too and have worn them lots since I bought them in October. I also orderd the brown/tan stripe in November. It is really pretty in person and yesterday I decided to order the aqua blue/lighter blue stripe one. It just seems bright and festive.

I saw the green tie die one on a Sears/LE employee Saturday. It looked so nice on her and she was an "older" lady in her late 50's. I was surprised on how nice it was as well. I just don't know....

What do you think of the light pistachio colored one? I cannot decide. I mean they are only $7.99 right now.

I also bought the silk square oneswith the polka dots. came in their own box with tissue. Such a nice presentation and the silk is so nice. Will look nice around my neck or handbag.

  100. PS,

I had to chuckle (and not really in a good way) about your JC quality/hole check. I do that too. I do it before I even try on the garment from JC to avoid disappointment. I had gotten to the point where I apprehensively would open a JCrew box. (not a good sign). Now, I am so excited for my LE boxes. It has made shopping fun again.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Genny,
They're only 7.99$ now? Well I just may have to get a few more! And I saw the silk scarves too.Now I'm in the same dilemma you are-which colors to choose. Were you looking at the long scarf/belt one or the square ones? I'm thinking the orange polka-dot in the square and the pistachio green in the belt scarf. Too cute! And maybe while I'm at it, a couple more of the striped tees that are $6.99. I already have the navy and yellow, and I love the quality/weight of LE tees. No holes in those! :P

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes, the oblong knit went down in price. That is the one I think I will get in the bright pistachio/ivory. I have the silk square scarf in the purple dot but I like the orange a lot too that you mention. In the skinny silk scarf I have the navy/emerald plaid.

The cotton voile scarf is $14.99 now. I got one at $19.99 in the windstorm blue.

The woven scarf is only $9.99 and I have one of those too.

So many scarves for so little $ that are good quality.

    Have fun deciding.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Remember you have until 10 Central to add to any order at LE. I just called and spoke with the nicest CS rep to ever grace the planet. OMG. I am in shock as to how wonderful she was. I added two skinny scarves.

  104. I decided not to get the gamine jacket today - the pleats don't lay right in back. And, while I don't have much of a butt, I didn't care for how I looked from the side. So, I bought the shocking pink jackie instead. It was hard to pick just one color! :) I would have bought the anarok, but they were all gone. So, I'll wait for a % off sale.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I received my ruffled gamine jacket in dusty rose today - it's really beautiful! The color is more of a coral, pinky-orange as opposed to true pink or bright pink. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  106. In case anyone is still looking or even checking this thread, the Lake Forest, IL store just receive a new shipment of the canvas totes! I was in there today, and they had TONS! There were two patterns, both cute..I only bought one, though! :)

    ReplyDelete
  107. Maureen - That's so good to hear about the gamine. I am waiting to receive mine and was hoping it was coral-y. :-)

ElleBelle - Yes, I concur on the new shipment of totes. There are at least 3 different graphics.

    ReplyDelete
  108. The Bethesda, MD store has all 3 designs and um, I bought the other 2 today.
    1 - lady walking away
2 - (attention dog people) ladies with dogs on leash
3 - (attention cat people) the 2 sweaters, 4 friends one - back view of 2 girls sharing a sweater and 2 kitties sharing a sweater.

Cheapest thing I've bought at J Crew since I got the Constellation locket and the twisted shapes bracelet for $9.99 each.

According to some conversation I overheard at the store, it was an individual store choice about whether to carry the totes or not.
