A big "thanks!" to yogichicki, who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code R4R3AB. This offer expires 2/8/10.
P.S. I have noticed that other blogs & websites post J.Crew codes & coupons *after* this blog does. If you happen to get codes & coupons from the JCA blog & post them at your site, could you please give give a "shout out" to the JCA blog? This way more JCAs are inclined to share. TIA! :)
That code does not work.
ReplyDeleteHi Alex! I just tested the code and it worked for me. Maybe the system didn't recognize it before, but now does. Hopefully it will work for you too. :)
ReplyDeleteI kinda wish there was a code for full priced items...ha.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to the spring collection preview:

That dress is beautiful.
Bizarre...I just received a Jan2010 JC Catalog that I was going to recycle (received it early last month), but was intrigued about my "special offer" on Page 7. It's a one-time use free shipping code for *any* amount!
ReplyDeleteThe catalog was addressed to me (not DH, who is the one who usually receives the shipping offers). I'm a silver card holder, and the catalog was addressed specifically to me, so maybe other JCAs will be receiving this too?
ETA: code to be used online only and through January 17th
ReplyDeleteYou are not going to believe this. They sent me the Light Ginger Brogues, right? They are quite pretty. Except, they sent a size 9 and a size 10 shoe!!!!!!!! Who does this?! Now they are backordered, just like the sweater was, and I'm out of luck. Guess what? I'm taking these back and I'm taking a J. Crew break. This is beyond ridiculous. They get the orders right but they ship anything laying around!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYellowLux: I think the images from FabSugar are the same ones on J.Crew's Collection page (http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Feature_Assortment/jcrewcollection.jsp). Some of the items are lovely, but honestly, some are ridiculous! ;)
ReplyDeleteAudball: Congrats on the code!!! :)
Elizabeth: That is terrible! I can't believe that they sent you shoes with one being the wrong size. :( Maybe they will do a We Will Find It search for you. :)
Thanks Alexis, the thing is I ordered them the first day of the new arrivals. It's not like these are returns, they can't be. The only time I have ever done a WWFI they sent me a completely different item so I haven't done it since. And there is likely someone else that got two different sized shoes because that light ginger color is gone.
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired of taking things back. I'm starting to think their shipping department hates them!
Elizabeth, that is ridiculous. At freaking TARGET they check the two shoes I'm buying to make sure they're the same size. JCrew's cost 10x - you'd think they could manage two of the same size. That is annoying, and they're hurting themselves.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad J.Crew week, too. A button on a merino cardigan broke (the top of it fell off, leaving an uncovered stub on the sweater); another flew off a jacket as if jet propelled (very loosely sewn on); my merino argyle sweater is pilling terribly on the sides, under the arms and on the sleeves (after one wear); and last week I found a hole in my Lily cashmere sweater. Jeez, if you're gonna tout quality, let's have some.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to share the fact that I received the Tweed Contessa Coat today. I have to say that it runs BIG! I'm either a size 0 or 0P, but even this coat in size 0 was huge on me everywhere.
ReplyDeleteToo bad because I love the pattern and fabric.
Wow, I'm not feeling much of anything in the spring preview...
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, I'm turning 30 this year and am reevaluating my work wardrobe. While I don't want to dress like an old lady, I think my clothes should lean more towards high quality, classic pieces and less trendy items. I'm starting to wonder if J. Crew is a brand I can wear in my next decade (besides the suiting).
Is anyone else here over 30? What do you think of J Crew's clothes for a biz casual office?
this month's magazine only reinforced my desire to go to portugal!!

Posting this here to answer a question in an older post.
ReplyDeletejcrewphd, I got my usual size in the Bryant platform peep toes but I could have gone up a half size. I will stretch them out a bit for my larger left foot, just for comfort. Nice shoes though. Definitely worth it if you can get them with the 30% off and free shipping.
Elizabeth-
ReplyDeleteThat's happened to me before too! I got a pair of ballet flats in 2 different sizes. But mine were final sale, and when I tried to return them in the store, the clerk gave me a hard time about it because they were marked final sale. I had to throw quite a fit to get my money back. And of course there were no other pairs in my size. Truly, Mommydearest has it right, who does that?
Jenny, I'm way over 30..in fact I'm making the slow crawl to 40.
ReplyDeleteThe trick is to take one piece and build an outfit around that. It's tough to pull off the ruffle shirt and the the skirt and the cardi and the jewelry and the shoes.
Take one, no more than 2 pieces and keep everything else really classic and elegant.
I'm tempted by the brogues, but I can't see them being a forever investment.
Jenny, I'm also on the very far side of 30. I agree with Netd3va, its certainly possible to wear J. Crew clothes to the office (even at my advanced age!) and look professional. If I wear a ruffled top, like Kelsey or Victoria, I wear a simple cardigan or jacket and a pencil skirt, for example. I actually think some of my J. Crew pieces keep my work wardrobe from being too stuffy.
ReplyDeleteThe free shipping code worked for me today (2/05). thanks!
ReplyDeleteWho is the J Crew model for this Lisbon Catalog?
