Don't worry, I am still all about the Crew! But sometimes there are codes/ offers from other retailers that might be useful for some J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados, like now...
By now most of you already know about Land's End latest line... LE Canvas (click here to shop online).
"Thanks!" to Genny (in this post) who shared the following promotion: save 20% off and free shipping with promo code TWENTY & pin 1328. It's unclear when this offer expires. As some JCAs have already mentioned in this post, this code gives some of us 20% off and no free shipping. (This is what happened for me too.) After some search online, I found another code for 20% off and free shipping: promo code FEB22 & pin 00008029. This offer expires 2.22.10.
The LE Canvas line is absolutely fantastic! It definitely reminds me of J.Crew circa 2005— and in a good way with it's classic staples. Just look at the image to the right, doesn't it look like it came from one of J.Crew's older catalogs? Just lovely!
I had been eying a few items from the line recently. Thanks to a similar code posted by Genny & Quiet Nights, Quiet Stars (in this post), I decided to take the plunge. (This is pretty big for me, since I have been exclusively shopping at J.Crew for quite some time now.)
I ended up getting the Women's Shift Dress (Item 38636-8X4X; $59.50) in True Navy and the Women's Pattern Poplin Skirt (Item 38632-0X48; $59.50) in Gull Gray Multi Stripe. I have to say that I really liked both pieces. What made the purchase extra special was a card for free shipping on a future order. Some JCAs mentioned getting a personal note from the Canvas company about their recent order too. The only thing I was not a fan of is there is no tracking confirmation number sent to customers. But otherwise than that, I am pretty happy.
Happy shopping! :)
I love the cotton lawn camp shirts in those two teensy florals. Thanks for the codes!
ReplyDeleteJust got a Lands End Canvas oxford shirt. The cut and fabric and details are spot on. J.Crew should be nervous, they guys are good.
ReplyDeleteA week after the shirt arrived I received a hand written card thanking me and asking for my feedback. Lands End Canvas knows how to do customer service well.
I ordered an other oxford in white with this promo.
I've been posting about the Canvas line for awhile now on my blog, with the most recent just yesterday: Lands' End CANVAS: New Spring Arrivals . There have been some comments and great reviews by those who have ordered from Canvas already, too. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! I was unaware of this new line. I've always enjoyed Land's End but the cut was never for me (I'm 20). So this is exciting. Also, isn't the red head model on the home site a J.Crew model?
ReplyDeleteI have also posted about the Lands' End Canvas line of my blog because I love it! I also recently received a handwritten thank you card for making a purchase as well. I love Lands' End and J. Crew both :) I noticed that you didn't receive any tracking info when you made your purchase. I have to say that surprised me - whenever I have purchased anything from Lands' End or Land's End Canvas I always receive an email telling me my item has shipped, and within that email there is a link to track my order. You can also do it on the LE website by putting in your order number. I hope that helps you, and I'm so glad you like your purchases. I have been drooling over the same skirt :)
ReplyDeletei just bought that shift dress too after seeing silver_lining's polyvore set! super cute! it should be arriving today! thanks for sharing the code :)
ReplyDeletehow long does shipping take? i'm moving next friday and am unsure where to have my purchase sent...
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in knowing more about the shift dress from people who have ordered it - with it having a white tank top is it see through at all? Or is it nicely lined? I've been eying that dress for a while and think it's so pretty and versatile.
ReplyDeleteMarisa: I too love those camp shirts with the floral design! I was thinking about getting the Chili Pepper Multi Floral version too. :)
ReplyDeleteJCrew Guy In Canada: You are so right, J.Crew should be a bit nervous. Even devoted J.Crew fanatics like myself, are looking twice at the Canvas line! :)
FFM: Thank you so much for sharing that post with us. I think the reviews & comments are super helpful. :)
Emily: I thought the same thing, that I had seen that model for J.Crew before. :)
SassyEngineer: Thanks for letting me know that tracking numbers are sent. For some reason, the email I got just said the items were shipped but no tracking number. I tried to log-in to the Canvas website and couldn't find any info there either. But thanks to your tip, I know now to check Land's End site first. Thank you so much!!! :)
Ashley: Congrats on the shift dress! It really is such a lovely and easy piece to wear. I can't wait for the summer now. :)
Marisa: Shipping doesn't take that long. I would say 3-4 business days in my case. :)
Summerilla: The shift dress is quite nice. I tried it on with my nude shade bra so I didn't notice it being see through. But the white tank top portion is a very nice fabric (a bit on the thicker side) that includes some lycra (so very comfortable). There is no lining on the skirt part though and the skirt does come above the knee. (My preference is at the knee or below, but this dress is so cute that I don't mind it all.) I also took the dress in my normal (non-vanity) size in J.Crew (a size 2) and it worked out great. Hope this helps a bit.
I agree with jcrew guy, JC should be nervous. Canvas (and from what I can tell, the new LLBean Signature line) is really stepping up to fill the void JC left when they decided to become the new, overpriced F21.
ReplyDeleteI found their shift dress to be absolutely darling - it really goes with almost everything in my closet! However, I'm not thrilled that they pulled a JC and jacked the price on it up $10 from January and am considering contacting them about it (I realized this after ordering the True Navy one, I received the Khaki originally). Other than that, I have several Canvas items coming today and would be happy to review them in this post.
I've been visting, buying and blogging about Lands' End a lot since Spring came out too! (even started a Polyvore group - Living in Lands' End) - so happy with the Spring line! The email I got this morning said 20% off for 4 days - until Monday, Feb 22.
ReplyDeleteThe code didn't work for free shipping, only for 20% off! Did anyone else have this problem?
ReplyDeleteMarisa,
ReplyDeleteWith the special free shipping in this offer-- shipping can take 4-7 business days--that is the standard listed on the website. If you need it faster, you have to pay for their regualr shipping rates. When LE offers these free ship no minimum that is the time frame....It has been consistent for me at about 5 business days and I order a lot.
Emily,
Try the new fit 1 in the regular JCrew line. You will be surprised at the fit.
I have been shopping Land's End since 1986 and they have the best customer service in the business and I do most of my shopping online. LLBean is second. JCrew comes in third IMO.
tip: Shipping is free on LE or the LE Canvas line if you are at a Sears/Land's End store. Just use the computer they have in that section of the store.
ReplyDeleteAlexis - I posted about this on my blog last week, and I ordered the exact same items with the code! I am waiting for them to arrive and will post reviews when they do :)
ReplyDeletetip#2: You have until 10 central time to add to your order the same day you place it; just give the CS rep your order number or you can do it with the live chat service online. So if you have any last minute additions...go for it. I have done this a few times and it has been super easy.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. Is this current code only good for 20% off, not free shipping? Do you only get free ship if you use the computer in the store?
ReplyDeleteThe code I have is for free shipping and 20 % off.
ReplyDeleteI was just telling people for future reference about the computer that Sears has in their LE dept. Sorry for the confustion.
P.S. I also did not get a tracking number, because my order shipped via USPS. I got a shipping confirmation, but no way to track it. I was slightly disappointed, but the shipping was free so I guess I can't complain.
ReplyDeleteI think the free shipping portion of the code only works for the person who received the email. The code posted by Genny only allows me the 20% at checkout on the Canvas items. However, I received an email with a different code and pin that also gives 20% off with Free Shipping that actually does work for me. If you sign up for emails at both LE and Canvas you should start receiving emails with codes that work for both lines. HTH! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never paid attention to LE tracking numbers over the years. I still don't. I guess some people like to know when it is coming for various reasons...I just get a surprise:)
ReplyDeleteLand's End/Canvas us both UPS and USPS to send orders. I get items both ways all the time.
I think both the pin and code worked for both free shipping and 20% off last weekend for others who tried it but this time may be different as FFM stated.
ReplyDeleteSorry but just sign up for LE emails and you will get the double codes too:)
Thanks for this heads up! I have a Land's End Parka that I love, but didn't know about this line.
ReplyDeleteI think I may order the Shift Dress. It looks very cute (and long enough)!
You're SO right - that picture absolutely looks like it's from a J. Crew catalog! In fact, I can even picture the one...2005ish, girl with dark hair, in a navy cropped quilted peacoat (that I coveted and stalked for months before finally buying even at full price) on a cute cruiser bike with a basket.
ReplyDeleteOff the check out this Lands End business....thanks for the tip!
I love the new line...I also like the fact that it ties in with all the LE stuff I get the kids. It's nice to go to one place for all the goods (similar to Gap kids and BR for us).
ReplyDeleteIf your item is small, promotion code "stripe" and PIN "1313" gives free shipping. You may want to do the cost calculations...says it expires 2/25. The TWENTY, 1328 did work for 20% off but not free shipping for me as well...
Wow. I gotta say I am really liking what I see from the Canvas site. I'd always heard about the fabulous CS from LE but their styles were never really my cup of tea but the Canvas line just may be changing that! I love the pattern poplin skirt. It's so cute! and the price is reasonable at that.
ReplyDeleteITA that JC needs to watch out. They're not the only kid on the block.
Ordered some items on Monday and UPS doesn't have an estimated ship date for me yet so I expect it next week sometime. I'm in California so it usually takes more like a full 7 business days for me to get an order, from most any company. I'll re-post with my thoughts when my order arrives!
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously considering ordering the heritage poplin and one of the boyfriend slub cotton shirts as well. The retro bikinis they have are super cute too!
OT, I have a question about exchanges at Jcrew. I bought a skirt and I need a size up. I called the stores around me and one of them said they had it in store but no more in the size I want. Its available online, but I dont want to place an order for just that skirt. Do they place exchange orders in store and offer to ship it free ? TIA !
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try the new line. I have been a LE customer since the mid 80s. I get all of DS stuff there; kids stuff is mid priced but very sturdy.
ReplyDeleteSome LE tips: their customer service line is awesome and you can call with any questions.
You can return to Sears with no questions asked, no "one time courtesy" no snide looks. And you can return any time for any reason.
You can call in orders from some Sears (the ones w/the LE boutique) for free shipping. I hope canvas comes to these Sears.
LE's overstocks pages have some gems. Check out the ladies accessories for nice scarves, hats and totes. There are also some cute loafer/moccasin style shoes on the overstocks too.
Thanks for the code. I've been wanting to try out LE Canvas for some time.
ReplyDeleteShari
ReplyDeleteThey have some great shoes & amazing sale prices! Does anyone know about LE shoe sizing? I seem to be in between 10 & 11.
Shari: RE. LE Canvas, our local store here in Oregon is bringing the Canvas line in-store at Sears. I'm very excited about it, because not only can I try on items (I find the sizing a little slimmer than typical LE and even JC sometimes!), but returning and exchanging sizes will be a piece of cake!
ReplyDeleteSo hopefully, other Sears stores will see the success of the LE Canvas line and follow accordingly. :)
I've got two of the Canvas gingham shirts and I love their fit! Slender but not too tight - better than the J Crew navy checked one IMO.
ReplyDeleteI haven't ordered from the regular Lands' End site yet but some of their spring looks are mighty enticing - and their new modern fit option seem like a possible winner. And I love how you can pick your own inseam on some of their pants - awesome!
I'm so excited to see the new LL Bean Signature line too - if it is anything like Canvas, JC may have to kiss my dollars goodbye for a while!
What a nice pic from Canvas! Smiling! Grooming!
ReplyDeleteI would buy LE swimsuits now and again, they hold up wicked nicely in chlorine, and have found toddler sleepers to be amazing, but never got more than that. Looking at the classic cuteness of Canvas, I may try out a few things. I kind of wonder about the sizing though. I notice some things I like only go up to L, and I saw some things in XXS, so are they on the JC vanity scale?
Also, I know Sears carries regular LE stuff, will it carry/ does it carry Canvas
Hi Cheesy - as of right now I think that there are only two Canvas-only stores, and for the most part they're not available in Sears stores that have LE (although you can return Canvas stuff there with no problem). I think that LE is trying to gauge the interest in Canvas before placing them in stores. Their number of fans on their Facebook page has grown a LOT, and it looks like somebody's actually monitoring it because people's questions get answered there pretty quickly.
ReplyDeletelove the look of lands end canvas!! thanks for the tip about free shipping/20% off
ReplyDeleteCheesyGoodness,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about LE swimsuits. They do hold up and I am a heavy swimmer. I have only had one suit totally fall apart on me since 1993. I usually buy they at the outlets for $20 or so each year when they have them all out for sale.
If I had time I would love to start a Land's End (Aficionda) blog like Alexis has for JCrew but alas...I hope someone beats me to it if they already haven't! Would be fun:)
ReplyDeleteOooh! I just received my LE Canvas order and am very pleased! I love how they included free shipping codes for you AND a friend, a catalog, and even 15% off $75 coupons! If only JCrew did that with every order that would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteFor people interested in the LE Shift dress: I'd say it's TTS, has a side zip that doesn't get in the way at all. I didn't even notice the zip till I went to remove the dress! The dress has pockets which is a plus! It came to about knee length (I'm about 5'4) And the white cotton top part is a deep scoop in front & back (but not too deep) and you don't have to worry about it being see thru because the fabric is pretty substantial. HTH! You'll love it!
Lisa: did you find that the gingham shirts are similar in sizing to JC? Did you get your same size and find that they fit the same? I am interested in the same shirt since I missed out on JC's version.
ReplyDeleteI'm very interested in trying out this line. Their stuff is so cute! Has anyone seen the leather and canvas heels?! TDF!!!!
Someone may have already mentioned it, but did you know LL Bean is coming out with a new line: LLBean Signature:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.llbeansignature.com/
I believe items are available March 2010!
I received a LE Canvas order two weeks ago and love the cotton lawn camp shirt. I'm waiting for a second order with the boyfriend chinos and short sleeved ruffle stripe blouse. I'm really hoping the pants work. I'm like many JCA's where most JC pants just don't fit properly. Although I love JC, Canvas is my new favorite right now. Tired of the ruffles and quality issues.
ReplyDeleteI am also excited about the Canvas LE line. It's very cute. Will be ordering with the 20% code. I have been buying LE for staples, cashmere and my husband for years and they have great customer service. Their prices are reasonable too and the quality is tops. Take note JCrew!
ReplyDeletebrittjohnsal,
ReplyDeleteYes, I posted about this as well as Genny a while back. I am excited to see LLBean's new line. I got a preview email and got to see some of the items....looking good. Plus, I have their LLBean VISA which has true rewards unlike JCrews. Free shipping, free returns, and free monogramming all the time plus $10 rewards coupons that come on a regular basis with accumulated points and you have an entire year to use them and you can save them up to use all at once. (I wish Land's End would have a Visa like that!)
Here's another Lands End Canvas code for anyone who wants it:
ReplyDeleteValid through 11.59pm CDT Mar 31
Promo code: MARIEC
Pin: 9140
Quick Note: I found the code posted only gave me 20% off too. After some search online, I found another code for 20% off and free shipping: promo code FEB22 & pin 00008029. This offer expires 2.22.10. Hope this helps! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I should have added that that code is just free shipping (not 20%) but at least it lasts for a while...it is in Marie Claire March issue.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this line. I've never been able to wear Lands End because of the large, boxy fit. It looks like the Canvas line is quite tailored and fitted, and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the patterned poplin skirt you ordered, Alexis. So 1950's cute!
I have purchased LE for years for my kids, and I love their bedding. As a Canadian, it's nice to be able to do a FREE RETURN at my local Sears store.
Looks like LE Canvas will truly be giving JCrew a run for their $$ this year!
lilaccupcake: That is too funny that we ordered the exact same items in the same colors. We have good taste!
ReplyDeleteDaniBP: I couldn't agree with you more. The original Lands End was not my style for the reasons you mentioned (too generously cut, boxy fit). But this line might work out nicely for me. I really like the skirt. I have gone ahead and ordered the Women's Gingham Poplin Shirt. I hope it works out.
I find it interesting that people keep commenting on LE fit being boxy. I have worn it for many many years and never had any issues with their fit. I usually wear a small in LE and a medium in JCrew. Go figure. Lots of different body types and heights out there but I never had any issues over many years with LE sizing. So for others new to LE or in the younger crowd do not let these comments 'scare you off':)
ReplyDeleteOkha - If you purchased the skirt online, call up CS, give them the order number and tell them you need to re-order the skirt and will be returning the one that doesn't fit to the store. If you purchased the skirt in-store, go to the store & ask them to call with you on the red phone and request for the correct size to be sent to you and waive the shipping, please. If you encounter issues, I would let them know you've done all the searching and just want your request fulfilled. It doesn't sound like you're asking for We'll Find It For You on a $19.99 skirt. Good luck :-)
ReplyDeleteVery excited about LE Canvas. I'll visit blogs & try to check it out in person as well.
I talked to one of LE's CS's today, and she was super nice and helpful. Another plus!
ReplyDeleteCanvas looks interesting. They are only starting with misses' sizes. They had a FAQ that said they may add additional sizes later, and as an inbetweener, I'd be interested.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Summer, LE Fit 1 line is not a boxy fit at all, their new Slim Leg crops fit very well similar to the JC Scout chino. Also LE customer service is the best, no "one time courtesy' speel.
ReplyDeleteI like LE Canvas selection and I like their prices, I will be ordering from them this season.
soigne---
ReplyDeleteThe regular LE line has many nice items in a larger variety of sizes and the fit 1 is slimmer if you like that style of fit like JCrew. Otherwise, there is fit 2 and fit 3 described in detail on their website.
For those asking about the sizing on the Canvas line. You can either call their CS or have a live chat online to ask for the specific measurements of each garment to make sure you get the right fit and size.
ReplyDeleteI should mention, to be fair to LE, that it has been 8 years or so since I tried their fit. I haven't tried the "Fit One", which I think is much slimmer.
ReplyDeleteThe Canvas measurements look quite similar to JCrew, maybe even smaller! (The bust on the XXS is 31")
I'm giving them a whirl. I'll do some reviews on my blog when they arrive. :)
Love. It. I can't believe I just found out about this. I love the poplin skirts, but it won't be warm enough to wear them in Ohio for at least two months. In the meantime, I might just order a heritage cardigan. Or two. Lovely colors and so nice to find a cardigan without ruffles, bows, or chiffon.
ReplyDeleteI JUST discovered Lands' End Canvas a week ago and I love it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSign me up as another lover of the LE canvas line. Actually just LE in general! I actually tried the Canvas line before I tried the regular LE line, cause I always had thought LE was for more "conservative and mature" women, but I was wrong! Even the regular LE line fits me, even though I wear a XS/2 in J Crew. The "Fit 1" works great, and not boxy at all. I can't say enough about the quality and construction on all the pieces I've ordered from LE! And sign up for thier e-mail and you'll get great deasl! I get Free Shipping no Min. codes all the time!
ReplyDeleteAnd a heads up to all the tall ladies, LE has much longer more appropriate lengths for skirts and dresses! I keep reading about how J Crew's skirts/dresses are all too short, well, many of the LE Skirts are much longer, so they work for tall people! I'm 5'9, but also still in my late 20s (really late 20s) and I don't want things past my kness, but not half way up my thighs either, and I just cannot wear most J Crew dresses for that very reason. I've found that even the LE Petie sizes are long enough (and the fit is fantastic for my mis-proprotioned short torso). I just got at LE petie dress that was still 38" in length, and a skirt that was 19" long. These work perfectly for me!
Gigiofca- Thanks so much :)).. you are always so helpful, gigi ! Yes I will call CS and try asking for it or else will make a trip to the store in the evening.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone already have the cotton lawn camp shirt? The description says it's sheer and you need a cami. Is it really that sheer in the colors, or just the white? I'm trying to decide whether to get the gray or go with the navy for more coverage.
ReplyDeleteWarning for the canvas shoppers: Don't know if anyone is still reading - My husband ordered the cotton lawn camp shirt for me for Christmas. I wanted the print named Aurora Red (has orange in it) and the kept sending me Chili Pepper (Blue and Red) They sent me the wrong color 5 TIMES before they got it right. They are new, and need to time to work out the kinks.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know if this happened to any other Canvas shoppers....
Cross-posted from FFM's blog:
ReplyDeleteReview time!
Heritage Cardigan in Gray Heather - a classic. I couldn't believe I don't own a grey cardigan, and this is perfect. I am typically a S in JC's Jackie's, but sized down to an XS in this and am glad I did. It has long sleeves and flat buttons and is very soft and fits like a glove. If I was planning to wear long-sleeved tops under this I would've gotten a small, but I usually wear these with tanks. I've been looking for a plain (but not feather-weight) cardigan for a while and this fits the bill perfectly. I'll be going back for more. 96% cotton/3% nylon/1% Lycra Spandex.
Pattern Poplin Skirt in Gull Grey Stripe - cute as a button, but just not for me. I'm more of a pencil/A-line girl but thought I'd give this flouncy skirt a try. I'm typically a 2-4 in JC skirts, got a 4 in this and it fit exactly at the waist. I was hoping to wear it a little lower on the hips to gain some length, but it was not to be. Also, I'm wider in the hips than anywhere else and this just accentuated that. Close, but no cigar. This was 20" long, top to bottom.
I also got two great pieces from LE's Overstocks: a pair of bootcut jeans in a uniformly dark wash (no distressing) for $20 that fit perfectly, and a white cardigan with a pink jeweled seahorse intarsia knit that is adorable for spring ($22). With the free shipping you've got nothing to lose (especially if you've got a Sears/LE nearby to return) so I'd recommend giving LE and/or Canvas a try. I haven't been so excited about receiving an order in a while, and was not disappointed by the quality of any of the pieces. I was also excited that I spent less than I would have had to in order to qualify for free shipping at JC. ;)
Just received my first LE Canvas purchase yesterday and my online purchase came with tracking number. Very pleased with straight leg jeans and cardigan. Tote I ordered was to large but realized after I ordered that I should have clicked "more info" for a more precise description of products. My order came with coupon for free shipping and 20% off next order. Will be ordering again soon.
ReplyDeletesilver lining,
ReplyDeleteI have that same sweater in white with the beaded sea horse. It is really well done. I see they have XS and S left only now if others are interested. It reminded me of JCrew of old. I have a cashmere sweater with a seahorse on it from them.
Love, love the line. I recently ordered a Heritage poplin shirt in gull gray and the canvas cargo pant in caramel. Thanks for the codes!
ReplyDeleteI browsed the LE Canvas this morning and added a few things to my cart, but ultimately I walked away. I think I'd be very interested if they sold it at our Sears store in Raleigh; then I could try things on and get a feel for the fit/sizing of the different pieces.
ReplyDeleteNormally I hate other stores knocking off J Crew (AT & AT Loft, I'm lookin' at YOU!) but in this case I'm happy that Sears will finally have a hit on their hands after so many years of failure in the fashion dept. I wonder if maybe they quietly hired someone away from the Crew's design dept.? Or just invested some moolah in someone they believed in? I would love to know the genesis of this about-face! :-)
I may order yet. At the moment I'm trying to keep a lid on extra purchases. Here in NC we're at that 'bridge' time of year between COLD and HOT -- we never really seem to have a 'Spring' here. We go from wearing sweaters to shorts in the blink of an eye. Maybe I will buy something a little later this spring. Until then, I look forward to y'all sharing with us the details of your purchases, especially with regard to fit and quality -- 2 things you just can't tell from online-only shopping.
Hey, I Wish For JCrew:
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me too!! I ordered the cotton floral camp shirt and they kept sending me the wrong color. The packaging had the correct color printed on the label but the wrong color was in the package. It took them 3 tries to get me the correct color. I ordered it Thanksgiving week and got it right before Christmas. I had to work to get the right shirt. I bet they straightened that out now. Currently I am waiting for the striped full skirt to come from Canvas.
Genny and silver_lining-
ReplyDeleteLet's start a seahorse sweater club then, because I have the same one! :) I just love it! Darling! And even better that its a substantial white, and not a tissue thin material where you can see thru it.
Dear Silver Lining,
ReplyDeleteI just tried to order the multi stripe skirt today in 4, and it's sold out! I'm so disappointed I didn't get a chance to try it! Is there a chance you'd be willing to perhaps let me buy it off you if you're not happy with it?
I am always a 4 in J Crew- would you say this fits the same?
Thanks so much!
J Crew 1985~
ReplyDeleteThis probably happened to A LOT of people. I wrote a letter, I kept calling, sending back all the wrong shirts. It finally took talking to someone besides the good folks who answer the phone every day...a manager and explaining the problem once again. But I do love it so I am just glad they still had one in my size!!
Audreybella put up a some images from the latest J Crew catalog on her blog.
ReplyDeleteeqyptomaniac,
ReplyDeleteYes, let's! That is funny we all like the same "critter" sweater and the price cannot be beat. That is why I have always liked LE b/c of their "Jackie" type sweaters. I own a ton b/c of the nice weight. I love me a now see through white sweater esp! I have a baby cable one from Land's End that I wore in the UK all the time and would get compliments on as well: "Wow, that is a nice sweater!"
Hopefully, we all we get compliments on our seahorse taste this spring/summer:)
Alexis - Thanks for the tip. You can go off topic anytime if it is this good.
ReplyDeleteI just "discovered" Lands End Canvas a week ago when I ripped out a page from Lucky (March pg 126) with a beautiful global scarf - Item # 38965-7X49 orange spice medallion. Couldn't quite bring myself to pay the shipping for a $30 item. The coupon code worked for (20% and shipping)... I bought a heritage cardigan, the scarf and a couple of more items. Thank you Alexis. JCrew be careful.... I am waiting to to hear from the first JCA to try their Cashmere!
I've been a Lands End fan ever since they brought the line to the Sears stores several years ago and I could try things on in store. I think their sizes run smaller than J Crew. I'm normally a medium in J Crew and a small in Lands End. I love that they have petites too! And now with the Canvas line, its even better!
ReplyDeleteWith the 20% off and free shipping, I just bought the sport utility jacket in caramel and the button front knit shirt in white from the Canvas line. Sign up for their mailing list and you'll always get a free shipping coupon.
I just went to Sears to try out the LE shoes and, unfortunately, they are too wide for my feet. They were having an amazing sale, however with additional markdowns of 50%-75% reduced LE shoes & LE clothes. Some of the Canvas bags were at my Sears, labeled only as LE and they had scarves and some darling summer tops & dresses. Gotta love Sears for their sales. The LE section was very non-Sears like.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the OT post. Last night I went to lands end canvas online and was stunned!! I broke down and brought the blue and white ruffle front shirt and the shift dress. I can't wait. And yes I got and 20% and free shipping!!!
ReplyDeletei took a couple IRL pictures on my blog of the shift dress if anyone is interested in it. hth!
ReplyDeletehttp://sbash123.blogspot.com/2010/02/lands-end-canvas-shift-dress-review.html
Because I couldn't say it any better than silver_lining: "Canvas (and from what I can tell, the new LLBean Signature line) is really stepping up to fill the void JC left when they decided to become the new, overpriced F21." So. Much. Word.
ReplyDeleteEmily,
