This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the WINTER & HOLIDAY sale, or to see some new RESORT & SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
I was just at the J.Crew in the Valley Fair Mall, San Jose, CA.
ReplyDeleteThey have a ton of the "Victoria ruffle tissue cami" in navy on sale for $29.99 in all sizes. There were also a few in dark charcoal for $24.99.
I rushed home to check online, as I wanted the spicy olive one, but it's not on sale online. (Yet...?)
Going to Valley Fair on Saturday (to return a dusty blossom pencil skirt P8, BTW in case anyone is looking for one). Anything else in the sale section that you recall? As luck would have it, the dark charcoal and the navy are the 2 colors I have in the Victoria.
ReplyDeleteMy PS told me the cardigans with ruffles on the front (Navy & Champagne colors) are on sale for $59.99. Also the starland sequin tank in gold peach is $69.99.
ReplyDeleteI'm searching for the Cadogan ankle boots in size 7 or 7.5 in black or gray. I'm also searching for the Pippa peep toe heels size 7 in gray or wild orchid. Thanks JCAs!

Does anyone know if the material on the Skimmer pants #22526 is a sateen cotton or shiny? It is hard to tell from the pictures in the catalog and on-line.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried them on, any comments about the fit?
Thanks and have a god weekend.
I think I'll probably just wait for the next rollout before I go back, which means no trip to J.Crew for me this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteDear J Crew,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the lovelies that popped back this morning but were not available when I clicked on them. FAIL.
On the plus side, they did just send an email notifying my that my silk tiered cami in papaya shipped. Yay! I'd been stalking it and finally pulled the trigger when it popped back yesterday morning, using the awesome free shipping code that came with my catalog. No minimum!
ReplyDeleteYes, got the Winnie coat this morning. I hope it fits:) What a great pop back; been stalking that coat and $150 is a good price I think:)

ReplyDeletecasual-crew, I wear 2s in all jcrew pants, and I had to size down for the skimmer pants. I am 5'3 and the 2P fits me perfect. The fabric is not cotton sateen nor shiny. It's cotton twill and pretty causal looking.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: the contrast pencil skirt runs big, recommend sizing down. Unagi and Neapolitan skirt are both nice IRL, both fit TTS.
PS
ReplyDeletecode R4R3AB was not working this morning for me
Thank-you Carrie, J Crew sizing seems to be off this Spring especially in the pants, I have to size down in a couple of pants I want to order.
ReplyDeleteGenny the code worked for me when I did a mock order.
ReplyDeleteI am looking for a size 12 indigo skirt (item 22997) for my mom. If you see one, please give me a holler at lilac.cupcake@gmail.com :)
ReplyDeleteI called and they applied the code for me....I know others who posted earlier in the week that couldn't get it to work either and phoned in...who knows???
ReplyDeleteI am going in to make a return. I've decided against keeping the neapolitan cardigan. I'm probably not going to buy anything, I've seen the new releases and the sale section is very picked over. I'm also going to Anthropologie to pick up a few sale items. And thanks to Fabulous Florida Mommy, I'm going to check out the new items at Talbot's!
ReplyDeleteDesert Flower,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good plan to me:)
Genny, I have the Winnie coat and love it. Such a cute casual coat and the stadium cloth is my favorite of all J.Crew coat fabrics. Winnie is short and swingy, which is not a style I usually buy but since it was stadium cloth I tried it and have no regrets. $150 is an excellent price.
ReplyDeleteR4R3AB Free Ship code worked for my online order this morning. A couple of good popbacks and some new tees, I'm anxious to try out the spring colors.
xoxo,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the positive feedback on the coat. I am excited to get it next week.
I'll probably go in to do some returns, but am interested in the navy and charcoal victorias. Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteNicole, could you share the no minimum shipping code if it wasn't one-time only? TIA!
ReplyDeleteCasual-crew, the skimmer pants are not shiny at all, in fact pretty much the opposite as they are twill cotton (they look very different in the pics and IRL IMO)
Are the stores still applying some % off on sale merch?
Ema: My PS told me they are no longer doing extra % off sale merchandise.
ReplyDeleteThanks jcmama. In this case, I won't brave the snow storm to go tomorrow ;-).
ReplyDeletecasual-crew, if you go to page 36 of the Catalog, you'll see a close-up on the fabric of the skimmer pants that is pretty true to reality.
I'll have to go in this weekend to return a couple things, most notably the denim safari jacket. I really wanted to like it, since it looked like such a fun, breezy update to the standard denim jacket. This was so strongly a no-go on me that I wish I could erase the memory from my brain! The four big front pockets created a wall-like effect that was NOT flattering to say the least. I was hoping for much better, since I have the light cashmere four pocket and the effect was sweet and rather charming even on my large chest. The denim was a very light weight and would have been better if they simply labelled it as a shirt and called it a day. Weird fit, too, biggish in the body, tightish in the arms. Big old fail.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I scored a major victory with my second try of the Nonno cardi! I ordered and returned one since the front rose several inches higher than the back, but I couldn't get the cozy grey pepaw goodness out of my head and ordered another on one of the last days of the 30% promo. The one I got today is perfection! I had to apologize to my breasts for blaming them for the first sweater's bad fit, it must have been knit or cut wrong. I'm super glad I gave it another shot.
Another great buy from that promo was a top that had been lingering forever, the viscose ruffle sleeve tank in light grey (yes, it is an obsession, I know I have a problem.) I got it for $14 which is so great since I know I'll get plenty of use out of it. It's super soft, very comfortable, and incredibly flattering. I have strong shoulders and a large chest, so ruffle sleeves can be a quick route to linebacker-ville. Although this a fuller cut, the shoulders are more narrow, so the ruffle adds no width, only cuteness. The slight shirring at the somewhat low neckline is also done well. I'm wearing it over a long sleeve perfect tee in brick, winterizing it nicely, making this a very good JC day overall!
Genny - That code didn't work for me in Internet Explor, but it worked in Mozilla.
ReplyDeleteAll - I've reviewed some of the new items. If you scroll down from the main page you can see the neapolitan cardi, black blossom cardi, Gabriella dress & the tissue garland tank.
Has anyone tried the asymmetrical chiffon bow pullover? I am contemplating the heather dusk. TIA!
ReplyDeleteHeidi - If you mean the one I think, Tres Tippy has it here.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's it, gigi - I just left her a comment on the post to ask more about the fit. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteGeneral question. After a big batch of new arrivals like the recent one, how long does it usually take for more new things to come?
ReplyDeleteAlso, has anyone tried on the Nori jacquard mini to comment on sizing? I'm guessing that, as with all their skirts, it is running big, but I'd appreciated any feedback.
Thanks!
Ema- Yeah, it was a one time only deal, otherwise I would definitely share! I just tried it again to check and it wouldn't let me use it. I was kinda surprised they included this in my catalog since the last two purchases I made online both got returned, LOL. This might explain why I also got my catalog in a more timely manner.
ReplyDeleteLucy, I saw the nori in-store and didn't try it on, but it looked really short. It was very shiny and has an exposed zipper. Somehow the thin fabric/texture made it more shiny to me than the gold collection mica.
ReplyDeleteHeidiG, I have that sweater in Sweet Papaya and love it! I think the fit is TTS.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, does anyone have any guesses about when J Crew will do another promotion? I'm trying to use my Rewards strategically. ;) Do you think they will hold off until the Rewards expire? TIA!
I reviewed an in-store only grey leather tote in this post. It also comes in black.
ReplyDeleteAnyone tried the Lena Isle dress yet and have a review? Would love to hear some thoughts on it (and better yet, see pictures!)
ReplyDeleteAppGal, I almost ordered the Lena in gray. I really like the orange but can't wear it near my face/hair.
ReplyDeleteI took it out of my cart at the last minute because it looks too wide below the empire waist. The model's exaggerated stance in both the front and back shots as well as the voluminous fabric in the orange shot was what turned me off. I prefer a much sleeker look in a knit dress. I'm pretty straight below the bust and empire waist with volumes of fabric are really unflattering on me. If the waist ended just a bit lower or there was less fabric it would be perfect - and a whole different dress.
I would also like to see some IRL photos to determine whether it is actually such a full skirt. Maybe I'm wrong.
I am seeking a Jcrew Dapple Dot cardigan in small or medium. If anyone finds one that is still out there, please email me at lnettels@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteI purchased the Lena Isle dress in Moroccan Spice.
Loved the color but did not like the shirring on the top of the shoulders - they're very poofy. The pic on the website of the Moroccan Spice dress on the manekin is true to life. In the pic of the model, the shoulders look less poofy than they really are. I very quickly tried on the extra small and felt like a little girl. All the details up top did not work for me...poofy shoulders, the shirring under the chest and the shirring next to the shoulders (for my simple style it may have been too much). It was too low cut for me in the extra small so I didn't bother trying on the small. Also, I did not like the raw edges and it wasn't flattering from the side view. Sorry, but I forget the details of the fullness of the lower half.
Hi All,
ReplyDeleteFirst post! OK, just got done raiding the B&M in Northshore Mall, MA and walked away with some great pieces. I was told by my PS that they are no longer doing the extra 30% sale merchandise. The selection of sale items was very very limited since they just got in all of the new items last week, but I managed to snag the Ruthie ruffle shell in cream (size 4)--they had many of these in both the cream and coral. I also purchased the Sequenced Starland Tank in gold peach (size 4) which was on sale for $69.99. There are only a few of these left. I also grabbed 2 studded bangles in black and cream which were an extra 20% off.
From the new role out I purchased the Wool Jaspe Open Crewneck Tee in graphite melange (size S) which I love love love! So soft and slouchy, great for the weekends. I also purchased a pair of the Pixie pants (sized up at a 6 in these, rather than my usual 4).
Things I tried on but did not purchase included the Denim Minnie pant, Destroyed Scout Chino (on sale), Jackie Cardi, and a few random bling-y t-shirts from the sale selection. I will probably purchase the denim minnies at some point (I have the regular minnie pants in both black and charcoal), but after the haul today my wallet needs a breather! I did use my $25 rewards card too :(
All in all, the sale selection at my B&M is very picked over (although I was shocked to see the starland tank on sale) and I had a lot of fun looking at the new pieces. I agree with others, I'm starting to get a little tired of all of the ruffles, but I'm glad to see JCrew branching out with some of their patterns (floral). LOVE the muted, soft color pallet for spring. HTH! Happy shopping!
Nicole, thanks for trying ;-). The item that I wanted to order is sold-out now anyway, so I guess that I'm going to wait.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side because it didn't snow, I went to the Rockefeller store (NYC) this morning and they had many Victoria tissue camis in white, charcoal and navy on sale and the Ruthie shell in white, coral and (fewer) fresh pear. The Madison Avenue store (Midtown) had the Frances heart cami in all almost the sizes for $59.99.
Lindsey, someone was trying to sell that cardigan in a S on the Great Weekly exchange this morning!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees a Winnie Jacket in Navy, Size 4 in a store, please let me know (not holding my breath that any still exist). Or if you think of it, put it on hold under Jennifer? I'm bummed I missed a pop back this morning, although I don't know if navy was even included in today's pop back. I will keep searching. If anyone finds it, please email me at jenn_clark25 at hotmail dot com. Many thank yous in advance. :-)
ReplyDeleteSnowed in here in the mid atlantic so no shopping for me today! Boo.
Only one new tee since last Saturday. It is green with lavender/gray flowers on it. I really liked it, but it was $45, so I'll wait on it. I did get the neopolitan skirt and the ruffle perfect fit tee in plum to wear with it. There are other things I like, but I need to wait for another paycheck. :) I love all the colors in the jackie (way more in store than online), but why do they need 3 shades of pink, 3 shades of coral, and 3 shades of lavender? At least one of the pinks is bright, but all 3 coral and all 3 lavender are all pale shades. One in orange and one in a rich purple would have been nice.
ReplyDeleteI stopped in to make my return and had a brief look around. The sale section is almost nonexistent now. There was nothing new since my last visit, but I did take a little time to look at how the mannequins were styled to get some ideas. It's funny but I usually don't notice them!
ReplyDeleteI stopped in to Anthro and tried some new items. There are several pieces I'll pick up if they go on sale.
My last stop was Talbots that has some gorgeous spring arrivals, but unfortunately their smallest size is too big for me.
So I spent no money today!
If anyone is interested in a NWT Always Cardigan in Navy, size small, I am offering it for sale on here before I take it back to the store. I adore this cardi, but just don't need another one. I'll take $37 for it. musingsonmtn(at)gmail.com if interested.
ReplyDeleteIRL: Thanks so much for the review on the Lena Isle dress. I didn't realize it had raw edges...BUMMER! I don't like that look either. Perhaps if it goes on super-sale, I'll give it a shot. That Moroccan Spice color is beautiful though...
ReplyDeleteIRL: btw...is the Moroccan spice color more orange or more red?
ReplyDeleteI am quite sure I saw the painted poppy art tee in the sale section for $29.99. Not promo. This just came out a few weeks ago. Pleasanton.
