J.Crew Updates Website With New Arrivals Today!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Twiga (in this post), as well as Casual-Crew, Christy, Naomi, Fiona, Lauren & Heidi (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew updated its website (click here).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here), women (click here), and even the J.Crew Collection (click here).

I am surprised to see that J.Crew has *not* yet provided the latest catalog online (click here to view existing ones). :)

On a bright note, J.Crew did include their Holiday Gift Guide for 2009 (click here). It's always fun to go through J.Crew's picks to see what they think are the "greatest gifts to give and get". It also gets me in the Holiday spirit. :)

Also, "thanks!" to many of you, including Marietta, & Heidi (in this post), who let us know about an email J.Crew sent this morning announcing the arrival of new styles (over 100 styles) and their annual Very Best Gift Guide.

They are also offering free shipping on purchases of $100+ with promo code SHIP100 and on $150+ with promo code SHIP150. This offer expires Thursday night, 11/5/09.

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. Mmmm, given small roll-out disappointed/ frustrated that multiple potential items for self or gifts already on back-order until mid-December. Also interesting that although some new items do come in other hues, most of the on-line post image selections all in black, navy, grey. Will see if I re-visit once catalogue is out and have checked other retailers' holiday additions. Confess JC currently losing out to Anthro with their free ship until 12/08 offer - which includes Canada and UK.

  2. I also did not find to many new items that I was excited about. I did like seeing the navy check shirt because my local store did not carry it and i also liked the Tori ruffle cardigan.

  3. Ex. of poor inventory planning printed wool wrap in deep aubergine is one of Genna's Gift Pick images. But has been sold out in that pattern for couple of weeks. PS If you already bought it see some great outfit ideas at DaniBP's fun blog under October archives. And Kathy, agree it's great to see the popular check shirt online at last.

  4. I don't understand the gift guru thing. I don't want a personal shopper to contact me, I just want to be able to add specific items to a list online, that I can email/print out/etc.

    ReplyDelete
  5. There should be more online in mid November, which I am told is supposed to be the December rollout. :)

  6. OT: Hi everyone, I have some questions about the plaza coat (18264). Hope someone can help.

Has anyone ordered it this year in the camel color? I ordered it last December and it had a white fabric on the entire underside of the collar. It reminded me of white iron-on hem tape, similar to this image:

    white hem tape

The collar didn't completely cover it, and I have shorter hair, so the white part could be seen. I thought it looked cheap.

Does anyone know if this year's coat is white on the underside of the collar, or if it is the same camel color as the rest of the coat?

Also, I still have the receipt from last year, and I ordered it on December 2nd and the price was $157.50. Any guesses as to whether the price of the coat will go down further this year? It's a little hard to swallow $260 this year when last year the same coat was significantly less.

Inventory is showing 17 left in my size. No idea whether this is the true number or just J.Crew playing inventory games.

Any comments/advice would be appreciated! Thanks

  7. It's a very small rollout with not much to be desired. I hope the next one is bigger and better!

  8. I'm just not in love with any sweaters. I want to try the Tivoli when I go to the store today but other than that...blah. I ordered the Dream Tori ruffle cardigan just to see what it's like in person. Honestly the ruffle reminds me of the trim on a blanket. Hopefully there will be more/better items next rollout.

I'm trying to plan for my holiday outfits now (because I always wait until the last minute and miss out)but I feel like it's going to be slim pickings.

  9. The Dolce popover sweater looks horrible on the model, adding about 20 lbs- can't imagine what it will do for the average woman...

    ReplyDelete
  10. IRl: I saw and tried on the Dream Torri ruffle cardigan and the ruffles were much flatter in person. I don't know if they're all like that but just letting you know :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Was the The Trentino cabin cardigan always available in black? I just noticed it today.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thank you Tres Trippy. What did you think of it: yea or nay?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anyone seen the Campo messenger bag in person? The gray is on sale, I am interested in what its like inside and how it hangs on the body.

    Thanks in advance for help!

  14. I can't get over the number of tanks and short sleeved tees currently available. All fall, I've been hoping that JCrew would make an interesting long sleeved, casual shirt -- something that is not a blouse. Right now, it's too cold for tshirts, but not always cold enough for a sweater where I live.

Also, the selection of denim keeps getting smaller. I personally don't want toothpick, matchstick, or distressed jeans. If you are looking for a basic jean, your only choices are their bootcut and trouser jeans. JCrew definitely used to have more options.

I guess I just miss JCrew's preppy-with-a-twist-updated-classic styles from years ago.

  15. Bummer...I was hoping the new snowflake tee would be in the online rollout. I missed out on last year's and have always wanted to find another...

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's it??? This is a blah, underwhelming rollout, again...

Does anyone know how large the next rollout is supposed to be be?

Nothing new for my wishlist other than the Griffin tweed coat. I really like the color on that, but I need to see it in person as I have been disappointed with the texture of the tweed this year.

Where are all the coats and jackets that excited me so last year? I am really loving my marzipan cardis, Frances shirts and pencil skirts, but I am not dogearing every page of my catalogs like I used to do.

    ReplyDelete
  17. How can you see inventory/how many is left of an item?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Good morning JCAs! Like most of you, I was surprised by how little this roll-out is. On a bright note, I am liking the Dream Tori ruffle cardigan (item 20607, $98.00 ). I am also getting into the holiday spirit and looking forward to the next roll out. :)

    FFM: Thanks for letting us know when the next roll out is expected. {wahoo!}

Steve: You might be interested in the the October 27th "Product Review: Campo Messenger Bag" post. Hope that helps! :)

  19. The mens roolout is a continuation of fall's overall theme; basically more of the same. I'm happy with what the mens line has been doing; but there's nothing I have to have right now. Most likely that's due to all the buying I did earlier this fall.

Hopefully some of these new arrivals will make their way to the sale rack and I can score a deal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. hi IRL, it was a nay for me. i'm 5'4 and the sweater just looked long and silly on me. plus i was disappointed with the flat ruffles. hope this helps!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Another underwhelming rollout, nothing I really wanted except maybe the Silk Flair Skirt. I was hoping for some cute party dresses but nothing really moved me. I'll keep on waiting. Maybe that's why J Crew is offering those free shipping codes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Appgal,

At the factory store the other day I saw a snowflake tee that was almost exactly like last year's.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Really, no great jackets/blazers. That is sad. I am intrigued by the brown dress on the collection page but I mean... it's $2K... and I don't really need a gown anytime soon. But I want to see it in person!

    ReplyDelete
  24. If I read "efforlessly chic" one more time I'm going to gag.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am feeling underwhelmed. Many of the "new" items look like either current pieces just tweaked or older pieces. Also where is the color, especially the fun and colorful scarfs from past years.

    ReplyDelete
  26. They had these up a little earlier, but the unionsuit pj's are always a big hit here. My husband has some from two years ago and the boys always get excited when they all get to walk around in their onesies together. My oldest already has asked for matching "right jollies" (what the unionsuit has been named) for him, his brother and the baby due in March :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Like many others, disappointed and underwhelmed. I'm not seeing much of anything new nor is there much inspiration for creating cute cold weather looks.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks to FFM etc. If this was the holiday rollout I was underwhelmed. I guess there's one more.....

    ReplyDelete
  29. that's it? no fun, new cashmere sweaters? ho hum....i guess i'm saving $$ this year!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm going to BR with my 25% off card!

    ReplyDelete
  31. marisa, right jollies is too cute! I bet they look great ll together in their onesies.

The best part of the rollout was they updated the sale section when they updated for the new arrivals, so I had a bit of late night sale shopping fun! I ordered the silver Lexi clutch (happy dance!!!) and the pointelle cardi that was cancelled from one of my recent orders. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that neither gets cancelled.

JC will never reeducate me as a full price shopper, but I am now almost excited to see a meager sale update to 500+ items. I can't get too hyped for the new arrivals, though. Some of the CC stuff is great, and like others mentioned, way cuter than the Stella stuff for babyGap. I especially love, love the girls' sparkly lodge pullover. There hasn't been any Fairisle type sweater for us grown ups this year that I noticed and I love that style. That used to be one of JC's standbys every fall/winter...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really like the Bling button cardigan, mint tweed Griffin coat, and the double cloth boulevard coat (hello, spiced wine!). I was expecting more, though. I'm going to wait until Tuesday's event at the Collection store to make any purchases, to get 15% off.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Corry: me too! I was just thinking that! Sooo obnoxious!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nichi: Ooh! Thanks so much! I will have to check out my local outlet store soon....

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am disappointed as well. I miss the 2005/2006 J. Crew with the preppy/argyle style and the great graphic tees. Most of the stuff now is way too glitzy/shiny for me.

I did order one tee though-Slub cotton masquerade tee. It looks cute.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was expecting more "special" stuff, both for holiday event dressing and for casual looks.

    Bo-ring!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I purchased the Elizabeth Ruffle Shirt in White at my B&M last month and really love it. It has the pizzaz without the added 3D mass. :-)

Alexis- love the Dream Tori too! I have both colors in other cardis and will have to see about splurging on this little number. Love the price.

Marisa- I love it that your guys love the union suits!

FFM- so so glad to hear there will be more....

    ReplyDelete
  38. I received another email with FS on orders over $100. Use code SHIP100. Valid through Thursday, 11/5. Alexis, I forwarded the email to you.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm a bit bummed that there weren't really any new earrings or patterned perfect button down shirts, but I did like the watercolor leopard cardi, the checked shirt, and the tweed coat (although the latter is out of my price point comfort zone). I agree it's underwhelming, but I still managed to fill up my shopping cart, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I heard that my local B&M will have their next rollout in 2 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm surprised to see so many short-sleeved t-shirts. Isn't this NOVEMBER? Nothing too fabulous, though I'm a little curious about the sequin pencil skirt that comes in gray and copper. Could be cute for Thanksgiving.

    ReplyDelete
  42. BTW

There was a similar Mint Tweed coat at the Outlets a few weeks ago, if anyone is interested.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yawn. This rollout was barely worth the click of my mouse. I agree with Tina Z about the Dolce popover sweater -- yikes, talk about adding pounds! That's the last thing we need. The new leopard cardi is rather pretty, but I already have three animal print cardis, which is probably more than I need. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Can anyone comment on the difference between the new items on the web site and those in stores? Are there lots more in the stores? Are the in store items more exciting? Is it worth it for me to make a run to my B&M? I've got a hugely busy week but am enough of a Crewnut that if the stores have something great, I'll make time. It's it's more of the same (not really thrilling me) then I'll wait.

    ReplyDelete
  45. JCK,
"I guess I just miss JCrew's preppy-with-a-twist-updated-classic styles from years ago" --> I agree wit you completely!!!!! Good old days :(

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm so disappointed. I just got back from JC, and the ribbon and pearl necklaces are gone. WAH!

I didn't see anything new there that wasn't already on the website. Salewise, the sherpa hoodie in the grey was marked down to $39.99 that I didn't see online, and there were a zillion tees, all the usual suspects. Puffer vests in brown were 69.99, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks Cheesy Goodness. If I can get to the mall I will but am glad to know if I wait a week I won't be missing out on the hot item for winter.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The Cashmere Ribbon sweater is awful. I thought the model in the holiday look-book was holding a scarf, oh and the price....$400. You know it's shapeless when they throw a belt on the model. Though, I'm intrigued by the Silk Flair skirt, esp. the violet stone colorway. Any one see the skirt in person? Oh, any advice about the Marled Wool Cardigan?

    ReplyDelete
  49. This comment has been removed by the author.

  50. Looked up the Silk Flair skirt just now and read this "It looks just as chic worn lower on the hips as it does high-waisted and cinched with a belt." and now I'm laughing like hell picturing myself wearing this 19-inch long baby high-waisted and cinched with a belt - hello London, hello France, lol.

Given that at most there's what, one more roll-out, I must say J.Crew 2009 has been sartorially disappointing for me - from delighting in the tweeds of late 2005 to swooning over nearly everything that came out in Fall/Winter 2007 to loving several items in 2008, this year has been a dud.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Like many others I am not impressed with the rollout. I was hoping for more color, and better sweater choices.

Marietta: You might want to read silver_lining comment about the Bling cardigan in the New Arrivals thread from yesterday, it prevented me from making a purchasing mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh ha ha ha, J Crew, that's a good one- telling us there's new arrivals just so we go to the website but not putting any new arrivals up at all. Yup, it's pretty much the same old lackluster stuff I've been staring at for the past month already.

Really good, J Crew, you're sneaky.

    HEY WAIT.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Has anyone tried on the Annalissa cami in-store yet? Is it running big, or more tts?

    ReplyDelete
  54. casual_crew - Thanks! After reading that review I deleted them from my cart.

I actually did stop by my b&m to make a return, and ended up purchasing the Gunmetal matelassé skirt (20034), which is beyond stunning, and perfect for the holidays. I also picked up what came out on the receipt as Cashfeel Lillian V Cardi (20271, $89.50) in an amber color. It is a 100% merino wool v neck cardi, with understated wool ruffling around the neck to the v, with gathers that look like 2 flowers off to the side. It's hard to describe, but it looks great on. It's not online, so look out for it at your b&m. It comes in amber, dusty blossom, a violet color, grey, black and an olivy green. Btw, the amber cardi looks phenominal with the Gunmetal matelassé skirt. My PS, who is awesome, also held for me the crystal symphony bracelet in the amber color, that was on sale online yesterday for a second before it sold out, for $29.99 :-) I also saw a black & white tweed mini, with gold threads. I didn't write down the info, but it looked super cute.... maybe I'll pick it up at some point, I just don't have much use for mini skirts. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Was the general opinion that you size up a size on the navy check shirt to prevent gaping?

    ReplyDelete
  56. OT-Ann Taylor is having some great promos on select pants and tees right now. Select pants are 40% off and select tees are 19.50! PLUS, there is a promo code for $50 off a purchase of $150 or more as well as free shipping for all orders over $150! So, I just purchased two pairs of pants and a tee for the price of 1 pair of pants! :) ENJOY!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Not very impressed at all this roll out. I went to the local B&M stores and only a few items were out. Saw some dream cable sweaters in rich color and a lot of t-shirt. That was really about it. Hoping for more to come in the next roll outs.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Laura:
I wouldn't size up in the navy check shirt unless you want it really blousy. It fits slightly looser than the regular button down perfect shirts. I got my reg size and its not even close to tight enought to gape.

I wonder why the brown puffer vests are in the sale sxn (69.99)? I just happened to go to the bm today. this was on my wish list and there only 2 left! I got it with my rewards card and paid only $25! yay!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I liked the Dream Tori ruffle too. It was the only thing I was excited about in the entire new roll out. Then I clicked on the color choices: AhHHH!!! Just black and more gray. I cannot stand the boring colors anymore. I was wondering about the sweater pilling a ton too b/c of the dream yarn so therefore, I will be saving $ by not buying anything from the new roll out. I really cannot believe how much LESS I am spending at JCRew nowadays!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I just got back from my B&M. After I saw the Tori Cardigan online, I just had to have it. But in person, I was very disappointed. It was an awkward length for my 5'9" height...And the ruffles were not nearly as pretty as they are pictured on the website. Sad :(
    I left empty-handed..

    ReplyDelete
  61. Marietta, you and I are on the same wavelenght. When I stopped by my B&M store yesterday, the only 2 items I was interested in were the tweed mini with gold threads (I'm short and like short skirts) and the amber ruffled cardi you described. I decided to pass and wait until I saw more items I liked, but you've inspired me to give them another look.

Nordstrom's half-yearly sale starts today, and my JCrew is around the corner from there, so I might have to give these items another look.

    ReplyDelete
  62. A bunch more thousand dollar collection items? Sigh.

Ironic that when I looked at the Organza poulette party dress (item 20964), I thought it said "Organza poultry party dress". *giggles*

    ReplyDelete
  63. Leslie,
Sorry you were disappointed. However, it is good to know that not only did the color choices on the sweater not excite me but the sweater was disappointing as well. So, not worth it for me to drive to a store right now it sounds like from all the comments!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I went to check out the new arrivals and J. Crew had emptied out my shopping cart (which had my -rather large- collection of "wish" items)! I'm pretty disappointed, and also annoyed.

Did this happen to anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you so much for this web site! I am taking advantage of the free shipping coupons you post! J.Crew is my favorite too!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I bought the checked shirt in navy & the masquerade tee. All others I could live without for now. I'm not really feeling the gift guide - I thought it was OK but I can hold out for now and compare to what else is out there at other places. In the sale section the Dream Cadet Funnel sweater came back and I was able to scoop that up. I was happy with my order but not over the moon about the new roll out.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Sherri - the cardi is adorable, I may pick it up in a few other colors at some point, but the amber was by far my favorite. I held off on the mini for now, because I can't get away with it at work, and I have enough weekend/going out wear.... so I'm going to hold off for now (although I'll probablt kick myself for it if it sells out), and pick it up later if there's nothing else that I want from a future roll out.

    ReplyDelete
  68. La Belle Helene:

"and now I'm laughing like hell picturing myself wearing this 19-inch long baby high-waisted and cinched with a belt - hello London, hello France, lol."

That was hilarious and you are exactly right!

    ReplyDelete
  69. BTW, I copy J.Crew stuff all the time with my sewing hobby. Sometimes I have more time than money and I love their designs! See the latest on the blog!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm kind of loving the Tuxedo jacket and cotton check shirt. I'm thinking I'll use the Facebook free ship code and rewards card to get the shirt. I just think the tuxedo jacket will look cute over dresses for the holiday - $225 though....ugh.

On another note, the Organza poulette party dress is CRAZY looking!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Has anyone reviewed the Merino Maya dress yet? I was interested in that in the last roll-out, but haven't heard any news (good or bad) yet...

    ReplyDelete
  72. OT...I bought the Nottingham tall high heel boots online and I just received them...they are the right size but are a bit too long..they go to right below my knee where I can't pull them up anymore and still slouch a little in the middle

I am only 5' 0" I know they have extended calf for taller girls but I need petite boots (if such a thing exists lol) Besides this problem I love the shoes...can boots ever be altered? does that even make sense? or do I just have to return them? Please Help! thanks

    ReplyDelete
  73. Really Jcrew? Big huge yawn.

I agree about the checked shirt, no need to size up

OT has anyone tried the Marzipan cardigans yet? I'm wondering how they compare in fit to the jackies and if the thick waist band makes the sweater blousey

    ReplyDelete
  74. I just got the new catalog in the mail - and seriously? A bunch of recycled images, no new items, and items sale-priced online are full-price in this "new" catalog. What gives, J. Crew?

I bought the navy checked shirt a couple weeks ago at my B&M, and it's lovely - keep your regular size, though. It's "relaxed" enough already. (The matchstick/toothpick cord sizing on the other hand.... bizarro!)

    ReplyDelete
  75. Was only excited to see the Tori in person today and agree w/others, it was a little disappointing. Passed for now, maybe on sale. ITA w CheesyGoodness, they will never retrain me to pay full price, esp when I am NOT swooning of late. PS also confirmed a second holiday rollout mid-Nov, before Resort, but "not big." What do you call this one?

Side note to Alexis ... THANK YOU for continuing to post the facebook free shipping codes! I have snagged a few popbacks in the meager updates this week ... ordered the gold Minaudiere this AM on a whim, any thoughts on it? A good purchase?

  78. Received the Nov catalog today with a free ship code that expired Nov 1st? Were the catalogs supposed to go out last week?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I loved a couple of the new blouses (and they came in petites!) I love that apple orange color they seem to be featuring - LOVE it :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. MaryMoo, IDK about the Nov. catalogs since today I received the OCTOBER cat. with a way expired code. Awesomeness!!! Looks like we'll have to keep up with the facebook codes. Thanks from me, too, Alexis, I would never have gotten those codes either.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I was disappointed with this roll out. That being said I did get my Stardust Pencil Skirt and it is lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ruffles - the minaudiere (or however you spell it) is cute, and the leather is nice, but it holds NOTHING. like MAYBE 1 lip gloss, cell phone, credit card/id, and that is it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Shannon, the Marzipan cardigan fits slightly smaller than the Jackie. I had the same concern as you about the wide band but it's not a problem at all. I got the dark purple color and it's pretty but I'm not wowed by it. Trying to decide now if I should keep it.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Katherine: I felt the same way about the marzipan cardigan. I thought it felt smaller than the jackie, particularly in the arms. I did buy the dark aubergine and the heather latte color. However, I noticed that the heather latte color felt considerably looser than the dark aubergine. I am not sure if I just had a defective sweater, or if this is true for each color. I am also undecided if I will keep them - not wowed by them.

Shannon: I thought they fit similar to the Melanie Button Cuff Cardigan from last year Fall/Holiday 2008.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks ladies! I may have to try the light berry :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. This is the first time I actually got the catalog somewhat early and I was really disappointed too. The cover said Nov but it really looked like October's catalog- nothing stood out to me as being new.

But today I was in the store and tried on the Chevalier cardigan in gray and it is really soft, comfy and warm. If I didn't already have a bazillion gray and black sweaters, I'd probably get this once it was marked down. I love all their alpaca sweaters- they are so warm. I didn't see anything else that grabbed me.

Normally I go crazy with JCrew in the Fall/Winter but this season, I really haven't bought much. Oh well, I really should be putting my money towards the holiday shopping gifts for others!

PS: for those with expired codes from catalogs- try them! I got a special code once and I was able to use them after the expiration date.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Thanks Crewlade and Millie for the feedback on the sizing of the navy check shirt! And you all saved me on the Tory and Marzipan cardigans, I had them in my cart and just deleted them. So now I'm down the the navy check shirt and possibly the Jewel Box flats. Has anyone seen them?

Does anyone think the Schoolboy Blazers will be marked down anytime? I have two and would only buy the other two if they were on sale.

I love the Griffin Tweed Coat but I don't know about the color. Wish they had gone for a more blackish green. Not sure how the tweed will look in such a pastelish color - has anyone seen it?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Looks like no sale update tonight, ah well. I just got an email from JC saying the order I placed this time just last night has already shipped! I am really happy since I've had some abnormally long delays in shipping from them lately. Now I'll have my Lexi clutch in my clutches a few days sooner than expected, haha! I think last year turnaround time on shipping was really great, too. A big pat on the back for the expedite, JC!

Shopper555, thanks for the heads up on the expired codes! Getting such an old one was such a head scratcher for me.

  90. I also have tried on the marzipan cardigan. The wide band does not make the sweater blousy.

I agree the color was nice but the sweater is just kind ho-hum and it was thinner merino than I expected.

Please, J.Crew, bring back the ruffle neck merino sweater from last year!

  91. Ditto on comments above. I went to my JC today and tried on a bunch of things - left empty handed. (This has never happened before!) Nothing in the sale section even tempted me. Rows and rows of over-embellished t-shirts. The Tory is very disappointing. I have so many pencil skirts I can't even entertain another one. I am ruffled out. I really miss holiday roll-outs of years past :(

  92. I'm loving the colors of the bling cardigan (BTW "in a palette meant to please": Alexis, I think that they are speaking of us JCAs, after all the ranting here about the muted colors and the lack of saturated ones!) but I have to see in person because it seems very see through.

The Masquerade tee looks cute but I'm afraid that the mask will disappear under a cardigan.

Otherwise I saw a tuxedo-like merino cardigan in store that someone else mentionned and it looked really cute for the holidays but I haven't tried it on so I can't about comment on the fit.

OT but I'm impressed with the fast shipping these days. I have placed several orders with the Facebook codes (got some great deals, including the Brynn dress in warm wisteria for $39.99) and they shipped THE SAME DAY. WOW!

  93. The cotton check shirt in my shopping cart jumped in price overnight from $64.00 to $69.50. Wha?!

  94. I LOVE the marizpan cardi. It is understated, but the merino is top notch and the cut is cute. I did size up as it would be very cropped and tight in the sleeves in my usual size. I usually wear a 2 or 4 in shirts and camis from JC and I purchased a medium. It is not baggy even in this size and hangs neatly even with the wide bottom band.

I have it in black, light berry and the aubergine. I purchased the aubergine to go over the print Evie top and the combo is great.

Please note thought that I live in Florida and I get a ton of use year round out of these thin merino cardis. If I lived someplace colder, I would either pass or opt for a nice light color for spring.

  96. SE Mom,

I so agree about bringing back a cute sweater! I bought last years cardigan that you mentioned in every color except one yellowish tone. My hubby thought it was ridiculous but I got them on super sale and this year I have not bought any fall items in the sweater dept.

  97. PS And the Melanie was so cute too with the buttons on the cuffs. The Marizpan is just a basic sweater. Pretty colors but needs a bit of JCrew pizzazz.......

  98. I view the Marzipan as a relief from J Crew's tendency to overembellish lately. I like the fact that they have at least one simple cardi. It gives me something non-ruffled to wear over my ruffled tops.

  99. Kitkat, what color is your stardust skirt? It looks like a very dressy skirt paired with a tee online-what would you pair it with? Is it an evening piece or could it be worn more casually as the picture suggests?
