"Thanks!" to Marietta who let us know about an email J.Crew sent this morning.
As reported by several {wonderful} JCAs in yesterday's "J.Crew Offers 20% Off Holiday Sale {hazaah!}" post, J.Crew is offering 20% off (no minimum) their Holiday sale online (click here) and free shipping (on $150+ *after* the discount is applied– a bit sneaky here) using promotion code EXTRA20. This offer expires Sunday, 11/29/09.
J.Crew also updated their sale section this morning with more merchandise. From the looks of it, items are moving relatively quick.
Are you planning to take advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale item you are looking to get? If so, please share. :)
I just placed an order using this promotion. I purchased a bunch of crewcuts items (corduroy pleated skirt for $19.99, an Evie top for $19.99 and two fiori )cashmere dresses for $127.99 each (were originally $298). The selection is not great, specially in the kids section, but then again, some things are heavily discounted (and I had paid full price for some of those items a few months ago, arghhhh).
ReplyDeleteI finally placed my order after about 3 hrs of debating, why is shopping such a guilty pleasure! I wanted to get my sister some perfect-fit tanks for xmas . . . they're supposed to be 2/$30 but they came up $18 a piece and I didn't get the 20% so that was $6 discount I wasn't getting (okay I know that's not huge, but it deceived me so I was annoyed). Anyhoo I called in and the really nice girl (was it Lauren?) gave me the discount and free shipping (bc the discount caused me to go below the $150) . . . I guess that'll be my price adjustment reward for now haha. Happy shopping!
ReplyDeleteOT: I apologize if this has already been mentioned:
ReplyDeleteMARTHA AND CREW
J. Crew's Creative Director Jenna Lyons will discuss good things on "The Martha Stewart Show" this Black Friday. Details on what kind of tasty pies the couple will cook up together haven't been released, but yummy details of Martha's interest in Jenna's handsome brother have surfaced. After seeing a sneak peek of Lyons, her brother and father in the upcoming J. Crew catalog, Martha asked "Is he married? Girlfriend? Because we have so many women here looking for handsome guys like him. We're always looking."
I snagged some cute crewcuts-I love their City Tee's for kids- they are SUPER thick and cozy and for $7.99 I had to have more. I also picked up a Selby for me-yeah!
ReplyDeleteHi Ladies,
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to decide if I am a 2 or 4 on top. I know this is quite personal - but I wear a 34 B bra size and am fairly small over all. I wear a 2 on the bottom in j. crew.
Any advice?
Thank you!
There were some good popbacks this morning! I finally bought the Collection Organza-trim Regalo jacket I've been stalking for months ($55.99, regular price $350), the Metallic Market toe in Spring Daisy for $23.99(both items for my holiday in January, yay!),also my husband's Christmas sweater.
ReplyDeleteAmanda: I think you would be a size 2!! I am a 32B and take a 0 in tops. The 4 would probably be large on you, especially if you are a 2 on bottom, it sounds like you are small boned. Hope that helps!!
Amanda, I am the same as you and I wear a 2 on top in cami's. Regular tops can be a different story because I have broad shoulders. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteDaniBP and Windy City - thank you for the help! I was leaning towards 2, so I think I'm going to go for it.
ReplyDeleteDoes someone has same issue?
ReplyDeleteI try to place an order of more than $150 with EXTRA20 code. It shows deduction ($xx.xx), but the total is actually the amount before 20% discount. I was about to click the "submit" bottom but I didn't. It is really confusing!
Is anyone else having trouble adding items to your cart? as soon as I select my size, the screen freezes...so frustrating
ReplyDeleteNaomi - it sounds like they are having some issues on their website...
ReplyDeleteNaomi, if you refresh a couple of times, it should show the correct total amount. HTH!
ReplyDeleteStepped away from J. Crew for a few weeks because there was nothing exciting, and came back to the 20% sale-- got the Forever Cardigan for $40, a tank top for $5, and the black cashmere Fiori dress for $128. I was thinking about the Meribel tunic/dress but switched it for the Fiori because the Meribel's camel color, along with the model's pose, was so discouraging, and really I'd like a dress more of a tunic... Excited to get them this week!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone own the Molly Satin Slingbacks? Are they TTS? TIA!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your advice! I finally managed to place an order with a 20% discount, but my order summary shows 28% discount…the actual discount I got was 20% on my total purchase, though. The system doesn’t seem to work properly.
It's really a bad sign that the website is still having issues well over a year after the "upgrade". If J.Crew has a dynamite sale then we can expect it to crash repeatedly, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteCan I combine this offer with a student/faculty discount after the fact?
ReplyDeleteDP,
ReplyDeleteNope. (I wish!)
My B&M (Deer Park IL) matched online 19.99 price for the ivory Evie cami today. It was marked 39.99 in the sale section, HTH if anyone is looking this weekend.
ReplyDeleteChristina, I had the same issue with the long sleeve perfect fit tees. When I added the promotion code, the 20% discount didn't apply to the tees AND the normal 2/$35 promotion was also removed. The same thing happened with the "insider" promotion. I wasn't desperate for more tees, so I just deleted them from my cart, but they need to fix that problem.
ReplyDeleteDP: It won't hurt to try. They would not apply my teacher discount during the INSIDER sale, but since this is just sale merch and not a "global" promo, it might work. Usually it just depends on which CSA you get. Worth a shot!
ReplyDeleteI can't find anything I want in the sale section but there are a couple of FP items I would love to try. Anyone able share experience with the following:
ReplyDeleteStretch banquette flannel dress 19883
Sahara suede ankle boots 20320
TIA

ReplyDeletethat 28% is I think total 20%+ shipping discount you received.
Mine was like that and I subtracted the shipping amount and it's about right.
J crew will never give you more discount.
I returned an item that was backordered, and I got the refund amount on a gift card because it was ordered long time ago(and they shipped it last week)
So I canceled other waitlisted orders I might just return.
Ji - did you do your return by mail or in a store? That is awful to just get a store credit for a backordered item that you just received! The "60 day" window for returns should start when an item is received not ordered!
ReplyDeleteJi, the return policy states a full refund within 60 days of original purchase. For backordered items, don't they charge your cc when the item actually ships, which would be the purchase date? I would take it up with CS manager.
ReplyDeleteOT: anyone know how ann taylor perfect platform pumps fit? i want to buy online with their TURKEY code but am not sure whether to go with 7 or 7.5. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
ReplyDeleteSo, I pulled the trigger on the Vintage serge Spy trench. Not sure I'm going to love the orange or fit, but I figure it is a no risk purchase w/ free ship and easy returns. And I hate that last year I waited too long and all my favorites were gone before the 30% off started.
ReplyDeleteOT: Hayley is wearing the Crystal Necklace tee on the promo for next Monday's One Tree Hill. The actress was wearing the pink candy tee from last year in some of the behind the scenes extras from the DVDs of season six, and the Alex character wore a JC tee and not much else in an episode earlier this season. A great marriage: JC and One Tree.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a black velvet Eden jacket and the Frances cami in dark slate. Both were items I'd been eyeing since they were rolled out this fall. I feel a little better buying things on sale when I wanted them even at full price. And, I hit the mark for free shipping! I wish the icon trench would go on sale, but I doubt it ever will.
ReplyDeleteRandom comments/observations:
ReplyDeleteI was at the J Crew outlets (NY) and loved the *look* of what I saw.
Unfortunately I caved on buying two wool-blend sweaters, a popover and an heirloom henley style. They looked fabulous and cozy in the store. While the material of the sweaters was on the scratchy side I figured I would wear long-sleeved t-shirts underneath so it wouldn't be a problem.
Well - the problem of both sweaters - they pill like crazy after just one wearing.
I also bought the Adirondack sweater-coat (just love these for fall-and I could not resist the big, high collar and the ribbed design). After one day, pills galore. On a $160 sweater. I wish they would step up and use better quality thread with longer fibers to prevent this. It's so disappointing to know that these items just don't hold up.
Daisy,
ReplyDeleteI got the Eden the first day it was out in store and love it. I am waiting for it to go down further in price though (as I know it will) to pick up another color. I think you will really like it.
Kristin & xoxo,
ReplyDeleteI shipped the returns this time, I would never imagine this type of policy application LOL.
I just called and was put on hold for a while after I told the CS what you ladies said. He came back saying they will give my refund back on J Crew card and make the gift card non-valid.
Thanks ladies!!! You are the best.
Bless your hearts!
Have a nice holidays!!!
xoxo, I tried the banquette dress in my B&M some time ago and the fit is great. in fact it was one of better fitting dresses i tried. I think it fits tts, I am size 4 in bottoms and 6 or 8 on top. I took 6 and it was perfect, accomodated my 36D chest. It feels strechy and incredibly comfy. It is cut pretty low and looks very sexy with nothing underneat but not office appropriate imo. I tried it with cami under and it looked great. The only problem for me was that black flannel seemed to attract lint like crazy and all the dresses on the rack looked awfully fuzzy. this bothered me. the grey one did not have that problem but the color washed me out and it wasn't so versatile imo. i didn't buy it. if it goes on sale I may get the grey one.
