"Thanks!" to Marietta who shared the following news & email J.Crew sent today.
J.Crew Factory stores will run a major sale the day after Thanksgiving (known to the retail world as "Black Friday"). Customers who shop before 8AM on Friday, November 27th, will enjoy an additional 40% off clearance.
Factory stores will also run a sale with 30-50% off select holiday styles. This sale runs from 11/25/09 to 12/2/09.
...and so the Holiday shopping begins! :)
I'm a relatively new J. Crew fan... what were the deals at the regular stores/online last year?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if it's even worth it to haul my turkey butt out of bed...
oh my! i just got this email... before 8am, is that standard black friday fare? i haven't been out shopping on that day in so many years, i feel like so much has changed!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me, especially not to fight the crowds.
ReplyDeleteA week ago when I went to the factory stores, clearance was already and extra 30% off and many of the new items they had in were 20% to 40% off already.
On the topic of factory stores: can anyone weigh in on the Michigan JC factory stores? I could go to Birch Run or Howell, but not both. I'm planning to go on my way up north before Thanksgiving. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeletespeaking of thanksgiving sales, lucky magazine has a great, looong list of current online sales with codes. interestingly, jcrew never made the list - how much do you think it hurts jcrew to have these periodic 20% off deals but no big splash/much promoed FF/special holiday event?
ReplyDeletei was going to post the lucky link here but wasn't sure if it was kosher to do that, so if anyone is interested, go to the luckymag site and then select the blogs tab along the top bar.
happy shopping!
Cheesy Goodness, I would go to Birch Run. The JCs may not be that different, but Birch Run has a better selection of other stores, in particular the Pottery Barn outlet.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Birch Run is better than Howell.
ReplyDeleteI will be 5 miles from the Waterloo, NY factory store on black friday, but I will not be going. Nichi is right, it isn't that good of a deal. Not much different than their normal sales.
I know you've probably answered this/talked about this a million times, but is there a JCrew factory store in Washington, D.C.??
ReplyDeleteKelsey: The J Crew outlet near DC that I go to is at the Leesburg Outlet.
ReplyDeleteGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH sample sales in NYC that I can't get to are bad enough. This promo strikes sadness deep in my heart. :-/ If anyone sees the snowflake applique tee from a couple of years ago in a M, can you pick one up for me?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help, Andrew and Em! Birch Run is right on our route, I am looking forward to my first outlet trip in several years. And I've never been to a PB outlet, my credit card is cringing at the idea.
ReplyDeleteOutlet malls in my area have had these midnight madness sales for a few years now. One year I went at midnight with a friend just for the fun of going but it was soooo busy, crowded and generally crazy that it was not worth it. Last year my hubby and I went to the outlet mall that has a J.Crew on the Saturday morning after Black Friday and it was pretty much deserted. Last year at least all the sales that they had going on on Black Friday were still going on on Saturday but without the horrendous crowds. The SA at J.Crew was telling me about the crowds and how people were taking their kids at midnight and it was completely insane.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what is at the Crew factory stores right now? Anything good? I will be going to the outlets that weekend after Thanksgiving but I'll check it out at a less crazy time.
What about sales at the normal jcrew stores???
ReplyDeleteThere weren't any regular B&M store sales last year that I recall, I don't even think there was an extra % off of sale.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping I get a catalog with a % off but I'm not holding my breath, lol :)
I just got back from the j.crew outlet. because they price adjust for 7 days, I decided to shop before the crowds (so i wouldn't have a problem finding my size) and then call for an adjustment thursday. They told me 80% of things were already priced for black friday. hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteI have had great experiences at both Leesburg (DC) and Birch Run (MI).
