A couple of BR reviews and new arrivals picks here.
ReplyDelete25% off tops at Madewell with code TOPTIME through Aug. 26. Free shipping on $50+ orders.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! Also, looks like Madewell has a wishlist option now!
DeleteGroopdealz - The beaded rose necklace is back. Pic of the mint at the bottom of this post. I removed a flower from the mint one, which was worth it because now it lays flat. I need to do the same for the white one, which I also have. I don't wear them often, so totally worth the knockoff price for me.
ReplyDeleteRose--I have been looking for an animal print coat forever. Thank you for pointing it out! I've ordered (I had some BR rewards) and am eager to try it on. Also curious about the new Camden fit.
ReplyDeleteBR has been so disappointing to me lately. I was momentarily excited by the ISSA collection, but the material was so cheap for those dresses . . .
Also, Marissa Webb's summer stuff is very reduced on her site. Given that her blouses started at $500, that means you can now get one for around $200. But I have to say the tailoring looks beautiful. The one blouse I wanted is gone in my size, but I'll be stalking for a popback. At any rate, I think it's worth a look.
I also ordered from her summer sale :) Just FYI, the sizing runs small, I go up a size from Jcrew. Sale items are final sale.
DeleteI wondered about sizing! Did you buy any blouses? I'm either a 0 (boy shirt) or 2 (perfect shirt) at JCrew. Do you have any advice as to whether that makes me a 2 or 4 in webb's blouses?
DeleteI got the leather jacket, sized up to a 4 from my normal size 2 at BR/Jcrew. And it's form fitting on me like it looks on the model. I would just email them to ask for their help? I think one of the main differences is that arms run tighter than mall-brand sizes. If you want a looser fit than what you see in the stock photos, you might want to go up 2 sizes.
DeleteI will write and ask--I had thought about it, but your post prompted me into action. ;-) I didn't see a size chart anywhere on her site, so I couldn't figure out what to do...
DeleteI will report back for anyone else who might be interested.
I have a question for the Boden experts: I finally placed my first order with them on Sunday, but my order is still showing as "processing". How long do they usually take to fulfill orders? TIA!
ReplyDeleteForever. Don't hold your breath :D My last order was processing for over a week. I hope your order is worth the wait and you get some great goodies! Love Boden.
DeleteAgreed, they do take forever, unless it's one of the fast-ship items. Hopefully you love your order!
DeleteCall and ask them if they have an ETA for shipping out. :) I just received shipping confirmation on some of my orders from last week, so it definitely took longer than usual!
DeleteGood luck and hope you enjoy!!!
LOL... thanks, J.CrewJD!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, all!
ReplyDeleteFew things out there in the world of Boden, Pure Collection, and Lands' End.
Boden's Winter Preview is set to have its 20% off with free ship and returns promo end this Friday night, but last time the promo was set to expire, it kept going--right up until the preview turned into "regular" Boden. I can't guarantee that's gonna happen again, but who knows? Anyhow, if you are like me and tend to be cautious, the preview 20% off code is PRV3, which you need to put on the shopping bag page.
Pure Collection has debuted their autumn new arrivals, and as per usual for them, there are a lot of beautifully tailored and simple classic styles in luxurious fabrics.
Lands' End is offering 20% off clearance and sale items, which is nice to have, considering just how inexpensive Lands' End can be on sale. My daughter's uniform skirts come from them, and with the 20% off, is all of $8.
Anyhow, I wrote up more on this here at at today's post.
Gap has a lot of popbacks in their online sale section and everything is marked down like crazy. $3 tees? $12 jersey dresses? All with free shipping on $50 and free returns? Yes, please!
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Gap printed nightshirt (#601732) in both color options during their last big 40% off promo and like it a lot better than the JC nightshirts. The collar of the JC nightshirt is too big for my petite frame, but no issues with the Gap nightshirt. The nightshirt completely sold out after the 40% off promo, but it seems to be restocked now. I'm hoping Gap will also make a cozy flannel version for winter.
ReplyDeleteSome J.Crew-like items in this post. :)
ReplyDeleteI know I'm being contradictory and wishywashy about the camo, but I tried on Anthropologie's Riley Camo Jacket and it is awesome. The camo pattern is subtle in person, the fit is great, neckline is flattering, you can cinch the waist if you want, and the fabric has a bit of stretch.
ReplyDeleteKohl's is carrying 3 button down shirts with embellished collars (white, blue & stripe). A total knockoff of the Tilda but with long sleeves. I love the Tilda for being sleeveless. I'm not too crazy about the long sleeve version. They cost $29.99 right now on sale. Brand is Elle.
ReplyDeleteI am going to check them out and see if the white one could be tailored. Depends if it is worth it.
Mirna - The Elle top is traveling quickly thru blogland. I did a sMAcKdOwN here.
DeleteFor anyone interested in Marissa Webb--I wrote to their customer service with a question regarding fit, and received an answer. Webb's sizing is "European," ie, not big mall America sizing. If you know your European sizing, then you can order accordingly, but she did suggest going up a size.
ReplyDeleteWhen I buy in the UK, I'm usually an 8, which is a US 4--so I ordered a blouse in a 4. Big gamble. Potential waste. I'll be curious to see how it pans out.
I hope Marissa Webb has a sample sale . . .
