This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
I stopped in yesterday. Again, I was the only customer in the store! I looked around but saw nothing I was interested in trying on. Well, I would have liked to try on the new Andie Chino. I took one look at the lower leg on those pants and realized they were about as wide as my arm. I really doubt I could get my leg or even my foot through the leg opening of those pants. It just seems to be another move towards smaller and slimmer cuts by JC. Aside from that all that popped out at me was all the embellished necklines on sweaters and tops. Not interested. All I would really LOVE to see this year is that wool A-skirt from the last couple of years in a nice forest green. But I'm not holding my breathe!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the Andie chinos were so skinny at the bottom, I will have to take another look. I was all set to buy them. They seemed much better than the Bennett chinos in this regard, and I thought better than the Scout chinos which also get narrow at the bottom. Ugh... I hope they're okay, I want them! lol I really liked the fit at the top.
DeleteI hope they'll bring back the Sterling skirt. I'm in the minority, but I liked the newer version they did last year on myself since I'm on the shorter side. A nice forest green in that would really well.
Oh. the Sterling skirt! Yes, please ! S!T!E!R!L!I!N!G!
DeleteYah! Other lovers of the Sterling Skirt! I bought it two years ago when it was more of an A-line. I would buy it over and over if they would make it in other colors and other fabrics. I'd love to have it in a tweed, a plaid, forest green and burgundy solid. Just to name a few. The version I have is absolutely THE MOST PERFECT skirt for me. I SOOOO wish they would do it again this year! Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
DeleteBoden has a similar skirt...featured on their catalog cover in turquoise.
DeleteCan someone confirm if there is indeed additional 15percent off $150 or more at the factory ? Do u need a coupon or code? I called my factory store and they weren't aware of it. I don't want to drive all that way to the factory if there isn't an additional 15 % off $150 that can be stacked with 40 off cuz if it's only the 40 then I can just order online. Thank u!
ReplyDeleteI do not think the factory store I go to has this extra promo ( Seattle Outlet) If it did I would have to print the coupon from the Outlet site....unless it is in the booklet of coupons you can get at arrival. Does this make sense ? Carolyn from Vancouver
DeleteI just wanted to mention that I returned my 'new' Nolita jacket that I bought during the 40% off sale. I was worried that it looked very shortwaisted/cropped online and it was IRL. Even worse, it is NOT made of Nolita fabric. The one reason I'd spend $$ on a Nolita is the special lightweight denim used the make them (previously). They are almost drapey and great for spring and summer, not stiff and boxy.
ReplyDeleteThis new one is nothing like my old ones. Very disappointing, as I was looking forward to getting one in a darker wash. BOOOOO.
Has anyone gotten their rewards yet? I was expecting an email like last quarter, but was worried I missed it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten mine in the mail yet, but I've already placed an order with them. You can just call a VPA or the catalogue and have them look up your rewards. That's was available starting yesterday (8/1). Hope that helps!
DeleteI meant VPS (Very Personal Shopper) not VPA...sigh. Sorry.
DeleteThanks for the tip, Mel.
DeleteI was looking through the blog archives and it looks like rewards usually arrived end of July in the past.
Update! I did a chat and just found out:
Delete"Good news - the rewards card were actually sent out today. A digital copy of your card will be sent to you email on August 5th."
Also waiting on rewards. I'm sure they'll wait until this current promotion is done before they send it out though...
ReplyDeleteAnyone tried any of the silk foulard pants? Love the look, concerned about comfort, lack of stretch...thanks! Have bought so much new stuff already and am loving it all. Live in SF, so I can wear sweaters now.
ReplyDeleteI may swing thru to see if there are any price cuts in-store. Not that my store will have them tagged. Stock is getting really low. In-Store Price Guide w/July dates in red.
ReplyDeleteIf you're shopping online be sure to check out the Irl Pic Guide.
Gigi, thanks so much for always posting those price guides. I made the mistake of ordering the cropped matchstick denim online instead of going in-store where it was $40 cheaper!!! Argh! But thanks to your price guides, I was able to get the Cafe Capri in Tuxedo Stripe for $24 :) So much better than the online price!!!
DeleteBaja embroidered top is marked down to $39.99 before 40%. A few available in mostly small sizes (00, 0, 2) at Tyson's Galleria in Virginia. As many have mentioned, it's sheer and hip-length (relatively short) but cool and easy for hot summer weather. Definitely worth $24!
ReplyDeleteI will very likely pop into the store this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI also have some reviews here.
OT - anyone know of any Madewell coupons out there right now?
ReplyDeleteI'll be heading to JC - I have a bunch of returns :)

Stupid stupid me. I ordered a maxi dress that is COMPLETELY see through! And way too big - not TTS at all. I don't care if it's FS, it is going back. It's unconscionable to sell a piece of &*(& like that. I've been so good about not taking a flyer w/FS, but the one time I dip my toe in, it's a disaster. This isn't about changing my mind or second thoughts, it's unwearable!
ReplyDeleteSorry, this should be a vent, but I wanted to warn people!
DeleteJruby18 -- sorry to hear that.
Deletecould you please tell us which dress so that other JCAs don't make the same mistake? thanks. :)
Sorry, I meant to tell you all. It's the Ikat Maxidress. Bad Bad Bad.
DeleteI haven't ordered the ikat maxi, but concur w/Jruby's details. Another JCA was also really dismayed at how thin and big it was. Apparently it's a cover up and doesn't look like it at all from the stock pic.
Deleteon the other hand, it's great poolside, although too delicate and shoulder-baring for the beach on a blazing sunny day, IMO.
DeleteThere was a similar discussion about last summer's Diamond maxi, which had sleeves and a deep v-neck. Really, would it kill them to specify that the fabric is light and thin ON PURPOSE? Or are there no bodies of water, large or small, on Planet Dingbat, home of the Copywriter From Space?
My VPS says there is a "bounce back promo" going on in store. Make an in store purchase and get a 20 perc off coupon good through 9/15. Don't know if there are minimums and if the coupon then needs to be used in store.
ReplyDeletegot one of these coupons in store today! they're good in store OR online starting August 9th! I think I'll pick up the new schoolboy in black with this coupon since they're "flying off" the shelves.
DeleteNews flash!
ReplyDeleteDid y'all know that JCrew does maternity clothes now??! (Hat tip to Elle of fastfoodandfastfashion for the link on her blog.)

Review of the new silk ruffle top.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if y'all saw, but Jenna Lyons is featured in the new Jay Z video "Picasso Baby".
ReplyDeleteCheck it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMG2oNqBy-Y&feature=youtu.be .
The video is pretty cool!
remember in VA-- no tax weekend on clothing purchase less than $100!
ReplyDeletei went to the stonestown b&m yesterday and saw the merino sweater with embroidered floral on sale for $59.99. they had a lot of sizes left. nothing much else in the sale section there though...
ReplyDeleteI popped in to the store and tried on the black schoolboy, the andie chino in tuxedo stripe, the oxford boy shirt in dot and bar stripe tee. Reviews here!
ReplyDeleteI inquired about the factory excursion vest. The VPS I spoke with says she can order the vest (58.50). She also let me know that the excursion vest will be available at non factory stores later this month!
ReplyDeleteDid she mention colors by chance?
DeleteHi Crewmum, Do you happen to know the email of that VPS. I drove an hour to my outlet only for jcrew to refuse to sell me the vest!
DeleteNo specifics on color, etc. if you leave your email address I will gladly forward your information to my VPS.
Deletelfleming90@yahoo.com thanks so much!
DeleteThe Tippi in embroidered flowers is $59.99 in-store. Review here.
ReplyDeleteAh today is the last day of the 40% off sale items and I am disappointed that the Swiss Dot Shirt did not go on sale. Boo. Hopefully J.Crew will have a full price % promo tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteHi JCAs! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Like JSR mentioned above, this is the last day of the extra 40% off online. For those of you thinking about taking advantage of the deal one last time, be sure to check out the promo-priced items & markdowns list here. There were a lot of new additions this week, and some really great deals to be found, especially with the extra 40% off. :)
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on the fit of the Everly wedges? I'm a 10.5 and normally need to go up to an 11. The Monas in 11 hurt, but Etta's in 11 are fine in the toe box area. I don't know if I should order a 12 and use inserts to fill any gaps or get 11 and hope the toe box are isn't excruciating. TIA.
ReplyDeleteBtw,mthe reason I usually get an 11 is that until recently most shoes were not available in 10.5. Thanks. I'm just worried about the really narrow, pointed toe box.
DeleteNew promo is 30% off knits and tees with SHOPNOW. Yawn.
