I love that j crew is recognizing their credit card holders by giving us a 25 dollar gift card for the fall with a preview mini catalog in the mail
ReplyDeleteIs this for all cardholders?? I haven't gotten one yet :/ guess it will partially offset all the crazy price increases!!
DeleteThat would be nice, if they send one to me!
DeleteI agree! I didn't get one last time for the personal shopper appointment or this time (yet). Last time I hoped for one for so long that I finally called customer service and asked if I was going to get one--they actually told me no!
DeleteI got a $50 gift card! Yay! But I asked the online cust service and they said these were rewards cards. Not very obvious but who knows
DeleteI've had more buy/return angst and customer service on the phone and in-store continue to be great.
ReplyDeleteI am usually a venter on here so it's nice to have something positive to report for a change. Really happy with my new suede grey Martina wedges! Gorgeous and comfortable. I am on the bandwagon now and will definitely be buying other colors. Bummed I missed out on the bronzed clay.
ReplyDeleteThe Martina wedges are amazing! I only have the patent, but they are actually comfortable and look very nice on the foot!
Delete@ Genny - I got that too, but I wasn't sure if it was my fall rewards or a gift? Am I a moron?
ReplyDeleteThe reply doesn't work on my computer only my phone.
ReplyDeleteSusan, First, I thought it was a gift card/special promo card. Then, I thought it was my rewards card too...so I wasn't sure. I have not used my J.Crew card much at all in the past year but I know I used it enough to be receiving $25 this go around.
Now, I am pretty sure it is a special promo card for card holders for fall as I read and reread the enclosed note.
I wonder if all will be receiving it or just people who have not used their card much. Once again, you never know with J.Crew. I am just happy to get this promo as I have not received any promo in a very LONG time. I think the last one was a tote bag in the mail over a year ago. I also have not had any special free shipping or other online promos when I log into my account as other have report at various points this past year...
Now, with all that said:) I will probably use the $25 dollars on Crewcuts for my daughter. Will get more for my money as I won't have to pay shipping! I will probably wait until the expiration date near Sept. 15 in hopes of good sales and maybe final sale will be gone? fingers crossed:)
I went to Banana Republic yesterday as I was walking downtown. As much as I have groused about the early fall offering at JC, wow. I was so unimpressed by the blah, raggy-looking things I saw at BR.
ReplyDeleteMade me think about sprinting back to JC for some polka dots :)
I wore my tiered dot tank to work yesterday. It is so nice to have a tank ( or any layering piece) that is not see through and is nice enough to be versatile, and is still comfortable. I received many compliments. I am going to the store today to see if there is something similar for fall.
ReplyDeleteI love this tank too for all the same reasons. Perfect with white jeans and sandals.
Deletejust wondering if anyone made it to the opening of the new Baltimore store yesterday??? it was a beautiful day so i know that someone out there HAS to be in love all over again...
ReplyDeleteI stopped by after work. The store is nice. Lots of cashmere and it seemed like they had more shoes and bags than Towson (my regular store).
DeleteOverall I wasn't particularly blown away. I think Towson will still be my store of choice but I know I will pop in to Harbor East every once in awhile too.
Just got two of the Tippi sweaters. The azalea (final sale) and the new heather with navy dots. I got the XL in the pink one, b/c I knew I wanted to wear button downs under it and since final sale, didn't want it to be too small. I'm usually a large, sometimes a medium or xl. It def fit big, but I like it all slouchy with the 3/4 sleeves. The large is a perfect fit and I can't wait to wear it. The dots are very nicely positioned too...no big polka dot over your chest...I was a little worried about that, but they are all offset, so no worries.
ReplyDeleteAlso got the color-blocked stripe top, in both colors....not my favorte...not nearly as cute as the hot pink and grey stripe top for spring. These are a much heavier material and more fitted. I'm pretty chesty and having the stripes straight across my chest and then onto my arms, just made me look really wide. Those will be going back. i will say the quality seemed better than a lot of their tees...maybe b/c of the heavier material.
Just ordered a bunch of other stuff, so I'll review it when it comes in.
For years I wore black, navy & grey....only recently have I been wearing colors and shop A LOT more w/jcrew because of their color selection. I have received so many compliments on a number of dresses that I've purchased lately... My sons continue to tell me I look beautiful! Thank you J.Crew! My boys adore their mommy in your bright colors!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Frances dress in lifesaver print. I just got it and am wearing it today with the black inez patent flat sandals, and I just feel so chic! Well, except for the part where I have to wear bandaids on my heels because the back of the sandals are extremely abrasive. So, yay for the frances, boo for the inez, though they are very nice looking.
ReplyDeleteSort of off topic but I just posted a bunch of reviews from my store visit last night. There are a few things in there I love, like the garment-dyed camp pant.
ReplyDeleteI had vented about my PS appt. to use my $50 gc was most likely not going to happen due to issues at the mall, but am very pleased that the PS did get in touch with me and confirmed the appt. I'm still a little nervous about meeting with a PS, but am going to try to leave my inhibitions at the door.
ReplyDeleteJust try to have fun with it! It’s nice to get some special treatment at JC, but try not to feel pressured to buy everything they pull for you. I think you’ll be surprised how enjoyable it is!
DeleteGot my hands on a Polly Popover in Silk-Screen Dot. Although I didn't get it directly through the Crew (couldn't find it in any stores, didn't want to pay shipping, etc etc-- Ebay came to the rescue), I really really like it. The material is thick and sturdy enough that it doesn't feel like it'll fall apart, the fit is really great, the melon-pink dots aren't glaringly electric at all, and it's 100% cotton, 100% machine washable. Now I just need to wait out this heatwave so I can actually wear it outside of the house. =)
ReplyDeleteAgree with you. I love this popover and have already worn it. Will post an OOTD with it soon.
DeleteI had a great experience when I called JCrew to look for an item, it was actually the featherweight cashmere cardigans that were on the website for $54.90. I was worried there would be a snafu if I ordered on the website so I wanted to be sure and order and pick up in store. They were very helpful, held the sweaters until I could get down there the next day and were very gracious. I don't know if that price was an error since the same color is now $129 on site but I'm very happy and they honored the price with no difficulty.
ReplyDeleteFinally gave in and opened a J Crew account yesterday upon purchasing my first real bubble necklace (which I also considered "giving in." Was happy to get 20 off for opening the account. The extra nice part was the personal email I received today thanking me for the purchase.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from the Corte Madera JCrew store, the 40% sale is still going on and for those who are looking for the No. 2 pencil skirt in burgundy, purple, black and ivory there were a lot of them. There were a lot of Filigree strapless dress (marked down to 79.99 before 40%), there was one size 4 and size 0 Ella dress, a couple of linen schoolboy blazer in cerise (I forgot what sizes), a lot of purple Minnies, a featherweight striped white/blue cardigan in XXS so the sale was still going on. There were a few Jackie cardigans marked down to $19.99 before 40%, I was able to pick one up for my sister. HTH.
ReplyDeleteI love the linen slicker I was able to snag on popback! Perfect for the warm, rainy day we are having now.
ReplyDeleteI love the $25 gift card and my ps who's willing to hold items until tax free weekend next week. :) I'm also late to these, but I love the polka dot capris. My b&m recently became a luxe store, so they finally got these in. I didn't think I would ever wear patterned capris again, but I really love these.
ReplyDeleteI received the fall look book thingy with the gift card today and to me it looks like the regular quarterly rewards cards. It came in a larger than normal envelope with a fold out paper of the fall looks with a card attached that said "This Rewards Card is good through Sept 15, 2012". Are others receiving something different than this?
ReplyDeleteSara,, this is what I received too..
DeleteThat is what I got, too, which is why I'm not sure what it is. The wording makes me think its a reward. It's also very confusing when I try to track my rewards online. I feel like I should on be on the Vent post. LOL.
DeleteSara, (I can't reply) I mentioned to my ps and b&m manager that I got the gift card and they knew what it was. I also asked my ps if he could look up my rewards card next weekend (for tax free) and he said he he could if they're availabe (obviously). So I'm assuming that it's a separate gift card.
ReplyDeleteHi-my card arrived today and was a rewards card(for more than $25 since I spent too much)
ReplyDeleteI think these are the normal rewards cards, unless those are coming out very soon too, because I checked my account and "Fall Rewards" is closed, and now it shows "Holiday Rewards" as the active rewards period.
ReplyDeleteI just had an experience with Ann Taylor that made me really appreciate J. Crew's excellent customer service. I bought a pair of shoes online that were a final sale item, and they turned out to be too wide. I would have chalked it up to taking a bad gamble except that the description of the shoes said they had two adjustable buckles (these were strappy sandals), and they turned out to be just decorative, not adjustable at all. If they were, I probably could have made them work. I contacted customer service twice and no one could do anyhting for me. I have had unfortunate experiences with J. Crew final sale items and they made exceptions to let me return them. This has really soured my opinion of Ann Taylor and made me love J. Crew even more!
ReplyDeleteI can second that. I recently called around to Ann Taylor stores to find a necklace I was interested in. I gave them the style number and described the necklace. One store told me they had it and took my information. The necklace arrived a week later and was completely the wrong necklace. It was final sale and I took it to a store to return it this week. The SA let me return it but she made me feel bad for asking, even though it was their error. Normally I would have stayed and looked around the store but her attitude made me walk right out.
DeleteThat said, I completely understand that with thousands of low-paid retail employees, it's hard to ensure that every single one provides exceptional customer service.
Tracey, call your credit card company about the shoes that were not as described. The vendor will snap to attention. Explain that all you want is to return misrepresented merchandise, and get the charge credited back to you. I have had wonderful sympathetic service from MasterCard in more than one instance when something like this happened.
DeleteNew schoolboy linen blazer in white....very expensive looking, beautiful blazer, fits on the smaller side
